It would appear to be a rather normal object to most people. A stray feather fallen from a malting bird. Most would pass it by and leave it be, ignored by the ignorant. However, the Queen was aware it was different than most objects. She could see the value in the trinkets that she held dear to her. Most would believe her mirror as a simple tool to capitulate her vanity. It was so much more than a simple 'ego' boost. That mirror was her most priced possession next to her own beauty. The mirror was her most trusted adviser and was the only thing in this world that she could trust. However, after a small discussion with her mirror, she had decided to reach out and speak with the sorceress that she had recently met.
The queen had sat on her throne, twirling the feather between her thumb and her index finger. Her other arm on her arm rest, cheek rested on her half closed hand. "I suppose I can use the assistance with my current minion out searching for Snow." She finally motivated herself to stand and step down the two steps before extending the feather forward and releasing it to float down to the ground. The two queens needed to speak and make the official acquaintance.
Grimhilde was not quite sure if Maleficent was going to appear now or if she would grace the queen with her presence later. The queen knew very little about the woman, only what the mirror alluded to. But, she would see how much information Maleficent would lend her voluntarily. That would open them up to their discussion and allegiance if the talks went favorably. As long as it helped her achieve her goal of destroying Snow White once and for all, she would comply.

Ah. She felt it. The pull of her familiar's purposefully left feather finally being addressed. It was Maleficent's way of telling the woman that she'd seen her. She'd felt her presence and for a sorceress as powerful as Maleficent was, that meant something. Of course Maleficent knew what was necessary to know. Out of respect she did not delve in all her scryings into the more personal aspects of the queen. She was aware that Grimhilde was queen of this world by marriage, that her subjects feared her and that the queen's vanity knew no bounds. Her insecurity lived in one of the princesses of heart, possibly the fairest most demure of them all. That was precisely what lead Grimhilde to her plights. Maleficent understood it as well. Afterall she had a princess of her own, a creation of all that she was supposed to have and was denied.
Maleficent was pulled into existence when the feather cast to the cobblestone erupted into a flash of lime green flame, an anomaly clearly otherworldly. From the tresses, the sorceress emerged, her head bowed and her hand out in a bow toward the queen. This was afterall, Grimhilde's castle and though Maleficent truly bowed to no one, there was royal protocol to follow. Her horns lead the way for her chin to lift as she addressed the queen. "I was wondering when you would call on me." Maleficent mused. "Though you remained subtle, I could sense your presence. Even among my agents of chaos, your hidden power remained a beacon." without saying the actual words 'it's why I left the token' it was certainly implied.
Maleficent was also certain in the recent past she'd felt the presence again which told her that the queen too had her ways of watching. Though Maleficent could chose to remain in shadow of she fell t the need, she allowed the wandering eyes. She couldn't begin to guess however what means the woman had of scrying. It was certainly something she wondered at. "What troubles you?" afterall it had to have been something the queen couldn't accomplish on her own.

Grimhilde never got a straight answer from her mirror which did aggravate her at moments. So, she only knew so much about Maleficent. Yet, she knew enough to decide that this was certainly worth her time. This meeting would be quite important as she already knew the basics to the story. It seemed that Maleficent had been slighted in some way by a princess. They had more in common than she would have expected for them to have. Though, that was the extent of her knowledge as she had yet to decipher all of the mirrors riddle. It was just possible that they might be able to do more than she originally planned.
Maleficent appeared out of a green portal, bowing as she entered. At least the woman had proper etiquette unlike most people that she had encountered across the worlds so far. It was as if some did not understand the respect the royalty deserved, by marriage or blood. Grimhilde stayed silent for the moment as she nodded in greeting and listened to the sorceress's first words. Her power had been strong enough to be noticed by a woman of her power. The was a compliment in itself. "Yours was quite pronounced as well. It is part of the reason I chose that world to survey, not aware the power was radiating from a person rather than an object" She admitted. The queen was aware of why the feather was left and it went without saying that she appreciated that sentiment. There was certainly a level of respect between the two.
"I do apologize for that bit of a delay. I had more pressing matters to handle at the time. However, now that that has been concluded, I felt I should at least reach out and introduce myself. There is no trouble that I cannot handle for myself. Just a young girl that managed to escape my sight again." She explained as she watched the oddly dressed sorceress before her. Yet, she was sure that in her world it had to be quite fitting. "My name is Queen Grimhilde. Though, I am sure you have done some research of your own. I suppose the better question would be why you reached out to myself." At time, the queen did wonder how others communicated across worlds and found out the information that they did. Grimhilde was lucky to have her mirror, but she knew her's was one of a kind and no one else had anything like it. What peeked her interest was what this sorceress might want from her.
The evil queen was unsure how to take Maleficent. There was certainly something about her that she trusted, as odd as that might seem. She seemed true to her word unlike most of the people that she had come across in her own world and on her own travels. An alliance would be beneficial if it helped her locate Snow White so she could finally remove her from this world and become the most beautiful woman once more. She prided herself in her beauty.

A waltz as it were. A dance between two powerful beings. What seemed like compliments were really informative observations. They'd been watching eachother and desired to make that fact apparent, but it was all part of the game. Grimhilde confessed that she didn't have any immediately pressing concerns save for a small girl and the dark fairy smiled knowingly. "Ah yes." the plague of the princess indeed.
The queen introduced herself more formally as was expected of her and she acknowledged that Maleficent already likely knew of her. The Dark fairy merely smiled with her lashes in response. What the queen wished to know was what Maleficent wished of her. In truth, there was nothing she truly required of the other woman, however, the fair had few doubts that an alliance with her would be a very fruitful one indeed.
Maleficent's expression remained coy and calculating as she took slow steps toward the queen's perch, her robes billowing behind her like the black tendrils of the dark corridor itself. "Were you aware that your Snow White was one of seven princesses that when gathered together possess the power to access a hidden realm? I once held your princess' heart in my hands, you see...and I too had a princess once." there was a thick malice on her lips as she chose her phrasing. "I was but a mere breath away from becoming something far more timeless than any living being could ever dare to define." there was pain there in her voice almost as if she'd spent a great deal of time lamenting what was evidently lost. This, however, was a lot of information. Her gaze flickered snake-like toward Grimhilde curious on her thoughts so far on this matter. How much did the woman already know? How much piqued her curiosity?

It seemed Maleficent knew enough of her and her troubles. How much did this sorcerous know? The queen watched this woman very closely as she took a few steps forward, her cloak following behind as she did. The staff she held clicking on the stone floor. Though, her extensive knowledge was forgiven when she explained that Snow White was a 'princess of heart' that was a key in unlocking another realm. That was something she did not know. The queen folded her arms a bit, curious but also quite annoyed that her mirror did not offer up information unless asked directly about it. Grimhilde was her step mother. It seemed that there was more to the former queen and king that she had not been informed of. How else would she possess such a heart and ability.
Grimhilde hesitated a moment as she explained that she had Snow White's heart in her hands, a feat that even her huntsman could not accomplish. Though, the faint expression and tinge to her voice told her a different story. It seemed that she was not the only woman to have failed to get their happy ending. "So, I take it that your plan had not been successful. It is quite like Snow. She seems to always escape death. She can practically charm any man she comes across. Though, I was not aware that she possessed such a heart. My advisor had never been so forthcoming on that information, though I am sure he was aware of it." She would be sure to bring this up to him.
The queen watched Maleficent as she spoke. "It's quite a shame that sleeping curses always have that means of evasion involving true love's kiss. Maybe we would have been more successful in our plans." Though, she was hinting at the fact she was aware of her act on the Princess Aurora. She simply had not deciphered the whole rhyme that the mirror had told involving maleficent. "I take it that I should keep my eyes open for another princess in my travels? Maybe open myself to the possibility of assisting you accessing this other realm?" She asked. Though, she was not sure how Maleficent would take her knowledge. Honestly, Grimhilde was curious how Maleficent knew all that she did.

Grimhilde made her assumption about 'true love's kiss' being the reason for Maleficent's failing in the finality on Aurora's life and her capture. To some degree perhaps that was where the blame could be placed but that wasn't the whole story. This Queen was unaware of the possibilties that Kingdom Hearts could grant and that the rules were different there. True love, for instance, didn't hold the same power, nor did a kiss. There were ways that Maleficent was realizing she might be able to use this vain woman but there was more beneath the surface also. She was sure of it.
The Queen suggested that perhaps she ought to be keeping her eyes out for other princesses in her travels and Maleficent's lip curled in her contemplation. "Indeed. You will know their fair appearances and radiant hearts the moment you see them." she advised with disgust. "As for the power of a kiss?" Maleficent began, a confession of yet more enemies to her name. "My curse wouldn't have been quite as penetrable. It was altered by a plump little blue fairy. If I ever get my hands on her I will drain her of her magic and her life alike." Where Flora, Fuana, and Merryweather were remained a mystery to her though she would not be surprised to learn they were still in hiding under the protection of the old wizard. Maleficent had no success in learning anything about him and as a result was hesitant in trifling with him. As soon as the memories of the three good fairies brought her back she flew off to recover her strength. That was the last she'd seen of those fools or the great wizard.
"You might open yourself to the idea that we'd be allies. Why, you could be the fairest in all the worlds when we're through." they'd leave little left for competition afterall. "For now, extra eyes are a commodity I'd be most grateful for. You know worlds I've not visited I'm sure and corners I've not noticed. What I require most is a gullible key wielder. I must find one that I can utilize. Should you see one that seems promising, I would appreciate the information. In return, I will see what I can do about returning your princess to you, once we have her heart, what happens to her is of little concern."

The queen only had so much of the riddle deciphered. Her mirror could be such a hassle at times. Though, she had the relevant information and at least she wasn't completely unaware of what was going on. The queen hated being blindsided almost as much as not being the fairest in the lands. Maleficent seemed to contemplate the discussion before she finally spoke up, agreeing that the princesses would be quite easy to spot on sight. "Hm. I am quite sure they stand out just as vividly as mine does." She agreed.
Maleficent continued on explaining that she hadn't made it so simple a spell, that a blue fairy had gotten involved. It made sense in a way. She did not seem to be the type of sorceress that would make a mistake. Grimhilde's mistake was thinking that True Love's kiss was impossible seeing as Snow did not know anyone outside the castle. Plus, with how the spell was to act, it was a surprise they didn't bury her. Then there wouldn't have been a chance for the girl.
At least the queen wasn't the only one that had been tricked and interrupted in their plots. It was a relief to know she wasn't the only failure. Her failure had only forced her to push to be harder. The sorceress spoke up about an alliance. Offering her to be the fairest of all the lands. It was a tempting offer. Though, it annoyed her faintly that this woman knew how important her beauty was to her.
The conversation shifted to an offer of partnership, Maleficent laying out the terms and conditions. She was asking for an extra pair of eyes and ears to survey the worlds that she had yet to explore. But, to also search for a keyblader. Grimhilde pulled a bit of a face at the mention of the weapon. The blue haired keybearer had destroyed her mirror in the past. Both her huntsman and another keyblader named Terra had failed her in killing Snow White the first times and had defeated her mirror the first time.
"I would not decline an offer such as that. Like you had spoken, two sets of eyes are better than one. Snow White is my priority at the time. Though, I will keep in mind of a keybearer. I am just not sure if they are quite helpful. I had two interfere with my plans before. One even destroying an item of great importance to myself." She warned as she watched the figure before her. At least there was an agreement. This would be most helpful.

"Yes. I have often thought that one of the main requirements for wielding the keyblade was a strong ability to be a great nuisance to me. It doesn't come as any surprise that you've had them romping about your world without a trace of concern as well." she conceded with an elegant wave of a rather pallid hand. The crow at her shoulder seemed to ruffle his feathers in response to her words and she lifted a finger to rub at the top of his head. The terms seemed agreeable enough to both parties but Maleficent wasn't entirely finished just yet. She needed to know this queen a while first and make good on her own promise before she could be sure of what exactly she could get away with. For now the dark fairy would leave things as they were.
"But I've digressed. I suppose this means that for the time being, Snow White is also my priority." Maleficent bowed once more, this time a bit more softly like an afterthought of a sort. "You'll have your princess much sooner than you ever thought possible. I'll take my leave now, Grimhilde. I am pleased at how fruitful this meeting has been. I expected nothing less from a royal lady." Enough flattery. She didn't want to overdo it but the vain always responded well to compliment. Maleficent turned her back on the queen, another act of good faith between those who were powerful. Her entire form appeared to become engulfed in green flame as she stepped until she and the flame seemed to disappear entirely. Only one trace of her presence was left behind: A glossy crow's feather.

So, Maleficent had had issues with the keybearers as well. At least this wasn't an issue that was exclusive to Grimhilde. They were quite the nuisance in the past. Though, the male caused less frustration than the blue haired one. The darkness in his heart only made her curious if all the bearers were truly good. If they could find one to manipulate, as it seemed was Maleficent's intentions, it would be truly beneficial. It would give them a leg up in keeping the others at bay. They were quite strong and it would be nice to keep her hands clean if able. She did not quite enjoy making a mess if it could be handled out of sight. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy it, she simply did not like the mess that it made.
The sorceress fussed over the pet on her shoulder as Grimhilde watched their exchange. Maleficent agreed to the terms of their verbal agreement. They would work together on locating what the other wanted. More eyes was always preferred in this matter. All she wanted was Snow White back in her grasp once more. She could finish the feud once and for all and be done with that part of her life. why she simply didn't save herself the stress by killing her year before was beyond her. Maybe she did care for Snow at some point in her life. Well, that morsel of her was gone. Snow White was simply a stone in her path.
"...and you your keybearer." The Evil Queen bowed her head a bit in reply to the sorceress as she turned and left her castle. It had been a rather fruitful conversation to say the least. This simply meant that she would need to go out and search once more. It seemed that her minions were more than unreliable. She simply needed to do it herself.
