The loud thump of a snap beat continued to hum through the humble little store, which had come to life earlier than was expected this morning. The clocks told the part time employee that opening wasn’t for another hour. It didn’t stop the young brunette in the navy tee from enjoying the morning chores and routine. She twirled and danced her way across the coffee shop, towing a dishrag through the air after her. A few sharp steps here, a few pivots to match the beat there, and a few pumps of the elbows as she kicked it up a notch. Tables were wiped down in a stylish dance, which rotated around them all in a counter-clockwise motion. The smartphone on the counter provided her music, which was serenaded by a boiling kettle on the burner behind the bar.
Stella had done this more than a few times by this morning, the routine becoming almost habitual in the nearly four weeks she had been staying here. The shop’s owner; a generous elder by the name of Mr. Seito, had offered her a chance to stay the room she had awoken in that first morning, in exchange for some help around Traverse Town’s newest breakfasting attraction. She had been hesitant to take the offer, but after the weeks that followed, the young royal had come to realize finding a way home wasn’t going to be as easy as a trio of heel clicks together. Stella had been convinced, rather than risk getting into trouble or having it brought on her, that her time was better served helping the community. At least until she found a lead to follow, she could rest easier knowing that she had done some good with her time here.
A spin paired with a few shuffle kicks, and Stella would round out her cycle about the tables, coming to a stop just before the bar. The door leading to the rooms of the inn upstairs would suddenly open, revealing a disgruntled expression on the weathered face of Mr. Seito. He looked upon her as she froze, tossing the dishrag aside before promptly pausing the loud music on the phone. ”S-sorry Mister Seito- I thought you were already up!” she apologized with a sheepish laugh; a hand raising to scratch the back of her head nervously. He gave the device a disapproving look, before he stepped behind the coffee bar. He gave a brief examination of the tables, then turned his attention to the whistling kettle on the burner. Stella would approach the other side of the bar, swing out of her music app on her phone, then tucked it into the pocket of her leather jacket resting on the counter. ”I managed to start some water, and the scones were put in a few songs ago.”
The elder would round in full as he applied the boiling water to the brewer, which began to make a bubbling noise inside as it heated the grinds. ”Thank you for your help, Stella.” Seito would not regard her with a glance, but merely a nod as he continued his preparations for the morning breakfast rush. Traverse Town wasn’t by any means anywhere close as populated as the capital back home, but Stella had come to discover it was still a hub for travelers and traders alike. This world was different in its own right, as Seito had explained, it was where residents of lost worlds would arrive. Seito’s establishment, Heiwa: Bean of the Brew (which meant ‘peace’ as Stella found out), was intended to serve as a place of reprieve for the displaced from their suffering. Stella saw the merit in the intent, as the time she spent staying here had really allowed the place to grow on her.
”My dear-“ began Seito, prompting Stella’s amber eyes to raise to meet the elder’s hazel spheres. ”Would you be so kind as to turn the sign? I believe the time is almost upon us.” Stella beamed a polite smile in return, giving a nod before she turned for the front door. Bobbing her head playfully to the tune in her head, she would perform another spin, stopping in front of the bay window. A tug on a chain would illuminate the word ‘Open’ with rainbow hued colors. Humming the chorus to the prior song, the young royal would almost skip through the threshold; a chime of the door’s bell ringing above her. A skip just in front of the bay window, and she would erect the collapsed foldable ad sign that was normally sitting before the window. Stella would then remove a piece of chalk from her pocket, and scribble down the day’s specials on the sign, making sure to draw a smiley face for character. After giving an approving nod, she would smile confidently at her work, before a deep sigh would escape her lips. Cheer would become a brief shade of melancholy as her eyes wandered upward to the stars. Looking upon each of the twinkling, distant sparkles, Stella wondered whether Libra was out there- somewhere, among the all night lights.

Traverse Town seemed to be rather quiet today. No heartless had attacked the city yet and people actually were able to take care of business in those early hours. Not like a sun or anything could tell them the time. Only their clocks really did. Pray to the gods that that clock in the center of town is not dying one day, or everything is messed up there! A rather small space-ship had been parked in front of the town, the door opening as a young man jumped out with it, red googles hiding his eyes from the other people, however the cat-ears he had and that fluffy tail showed off enough that he was indeed a complete stranger to this world. Both hands planted on his hips, he would laugh loudly when he looked at the big door in front of him. “Wow, THAT was something! Didn't expect so many practice-targets on the way here.”, he chirped, closing the door of the ship and typing something in the holographic field next to it, the ship seeming to shut down and closing up completely, so no one would get stupid ideas of trying to touch or steal his baby. Let's thank the Allager and some time he had to study their technology a bit. He almost lost his hand when he messed with one of their machines but it was worth it in the end, after all.
“Now... where to start..”, he would ask himself loudly, his tail wagging in excitement to start exploring this town. He went through the door, entering what seemed to be the main part of the town, when the smell of something reached his nose, his head moving up a little, ears twitching. It smelled like... something baking and shortly after his stomach would growl like it was screaming for him to take a look and get some of WHAT EVER he smelled there. His nose would lead him to a cafe that seemed to have just opened, the smell almost making him drool a little, his feet stopping right in front of the store to take a nice nose full.
It was than that he noticed a young woman next to him, seeming to be busy to write something on a chalkboard outside. He watched her for a moment, before his red eyes would blink under the glasses, a big smirk spreading on his face when he recognized the face of the other. “HAH! I think I am hallucinating from hunger! Stella, my little bella!”, he would joke, his tail wagging from happiness now to see someone he actually knows. “By Ayzema, I wouldn't not have expected to see your beautiful Featue- EHH FACE here today! Don't tell me you are working here?”

A hand was raised to her brow, upon catching sight of a fading star. It blinked excessively, before at last it would die out in the night; a finalizing shine before the ever consuming darkness would swallow it whole. Amber eyes narrowed upon this sight, before Stella lowered her hand to reach for the nearby door. Pulling it open once more, another chime would emit from the bell above. That was when a voice caught her ear, a voice that she did not recognize. Though as she turned to look upon the speaker, Stella found herself gazing upon a customer, with what would appear to be cat ears? She felt her brows raise out of surprise, not merely for the tail which swished behind the man, but for the sole fact that he knew her name. Praise be to some deity she had never heard of, this man went on to mention how nice it was to see her, even going so far as to compliment her appearance. ”Um…thank you?” she replied, nervously tucking a lock of hair behind an ear. She meant to inquire how he knew her, and from where, but he seemed rather curious if this was her place of employment. A glance was cast to the bistro, before she gave an uncomfortable nod to the newcomer.
”Stella? Where are you dear?” She made an internal sigh of relief upon hearing Seito’s voice again. Maybe he would have something for her to do, and help her out of this strange encounter. She could only hope, yet it was hard to dismiss the theories that kept coming to her. Had this, whoever he was, been a customer in the passed few weeks she simply didn’t remember? She couldn’t be certain, but part of her needed to know. If he held answers about a way to find Libra, and her way home, maybe Seito’s scones would loosen his tongue a bit. Stella turned from the traveler, opening the door to allow him first passage into the bistro. Stepping back into the life she had come to adopt, the familiar scents of baked goods and coffee would fill her nose as she crossed the bistro’s floor. ”Pardon me dear-“ began Seito as she approached. Stella drew her attention from her boots on the floor, her deflated expression brightening as she looked up to the elder.
”Could I trouble you to deliver these for me?” Upon asking, he would sit a box of baked goods on the bar in front of the young brunette. She looked at the usual tag, a pink arrow on string, as was Seito’s custom for any items designated for delivery. The name only read: Cid, though she didn’t recall meeting anyone by that name in town. Seito, as keen with observation as he was, caught the confusion that graced her face within that moment. ”He’s a busy man who owns the shop in the next district over. Just follow the courtyard, you’ll reach it in no time.” Stella would nod in reply, taking hold of the moderately sized box, mentally noting the directions she had been given. A glance was made to the Mi’qote, wondering if he was content to stay until she returned, or if he was the type to follow her on her delivery. She would turn for the door again, before she was stopped by a raised hand in her peripheral.
”Oh, and if he isn’t there, please just leave them with the tenant. He’s a nice man who watches the store when Cid’s out of town.” A pair of nods were exchanged out of mutual understanding, before the young royal was gone with a chime of the door. There was no indication to it being morning, as Stella had learned from Seito, that the sun never came to this world as it teetered in a Realm of the In-Between. She wasn’t sure what he had meant by this, but the passed weeks had gone by without so much as a hint of sunlight. It was unnatural, and whether she wished to admit it or not, it was just another one of the many things that continued to eat at her under the surface. Stella longed to return home, longed to see the relieved smiles of her friends and family once more. Though with no idea where, or how far from this place it was, there was no way a breach could be made to take her there.
She turned her back to the district doors, easing them open with her backside so as not to risk spilling the baked goods, before slipping between the oaken giants. As the threshold would thunder closed behind her, the warm glow of the First District would greet her from beyond a workshop, before which a trio of moogles sat, enjoying drinks of some kind. As she passed them to descend the stairs, Stella would beam a smile at them with a nod, receiving a few kind waves in reply. The path rounded down to a terrace, which connected to another district, and a less than busy restaurant with open seating. Stella paused at the peak of the final flight, using the moment to get a good look of the area.
Item Shop- Where are you? She would squint her eyes with these thoughts, looking around the terrace before her for any signs that indicated her destination. Upon turning behind her, and glimpsing slowly upward to the sign above the door, she felt her mouth fall open with surprise. ”Oh! Well, Item Shop, there we go!” Her lips rejoined to form a bright smile before easing her way through the door with the hefty box. Though much to her surprise upon entering the establishment, there was nobody behind the counter as Seito had assured. Stella stood there at the top of the steps by the door, feeling confused and slightly awkward, wondering if she had just intruded into an abandoned store by accident. Uncertain of how to handle this, she stepped to the counter with caution, placing the box gently upon it with care.
”Uh, hello? Is…anyone here? Mr. Seito in the Second District sent these over…” Stella found herself peering down the counter to a back room, but there was no indication that anyone was occupying it. She returned her focus to the box, anxiously strumming her fingers on the counter before it. She waited another awkward minute, before looking around the shop again for any signs of life. Nothing and nobody came, prompting a sigh bearing an air of defeat. A finalizing strum on the counter was made, before Stella would turn and exit the shop, welcomed by the soft glow of the terrace once more. ”Odd…where the hell is everyone?” she found herself asking, resting hands on her hips as she gave the area another sweeping glance. Shaking her head out of frustration, the young royal would make for the direction she came from, intending to return to the meager duties of the bistro. Chronos Ti'era

Chronos wide smile would slowly falter when he saw the confusion on the woman's face. Why was she looking at him like she had no idea who he was? She just turned away and entered the shop, Chronos's eyes following her,his mouth slightly open as he seemed to have lost his voice for a moment. What was wrong with her? Was she messing with him? “Eh.. Stella?”
He followed her inside, trying to talk to her once more when he witnessed a conversation she was having with the owner of the shop, who gave her a delivery of tasty treats to bring to someone called Cid. Pff, funny how often this name was used outside of his home, but whatever the case, there more important things to take care off... How the heck could she be so rude and leave the shop without saying an other word to him. “Wha- HEY!”, he screamed after her, but was left standing there again, his ears now folding on his head. Wait, had she really.. forgotten him? Why? His head turned to look at Seito for a moment and than back to the door. What should he do now? Follow her? Wait here and eat something? He seemed uncertain for some time, before he shook his head and left the store to storm after her. Sadly, she was already gone out of sight, so Chronos had to use his nose to find her again and since he was new to this town, following one scent was not very easy. He stumbled around in the town for a few minutes before he was led back to the entrance-district. The Mi'qote breathed in and out for a moment before he tried to sniff for her scent again, which he didn't actually need anymore if he would have kept an eye to his surroundings. Stella left a shop not far away from him and his ears twitched from the words he could make out.
Yeah.. where was everybody? He turned his head to look around, seeing that no one was on the street anymore. What was going on? His eyes narrowed slightly, his hand moving to his goggles to push them up, revealing the bright red of his orbs that were hidden under the glass. He walked over to her, eyeing her with curiosity and irritation at the same time. “Damn, you are fast. Took me a while to catch up. Puh!!”, he murmured, crossing his arms now. “Hey, why did you just leave me standing there? Are you trying to mock me? Also... Where are all the people? Did I miss something?"

There wasn’t much time to waste before the early shift would begin, she needed to hurry. It would make a poor impression on the boss if she proved tardy from a generous errand. Stella took one step forward, not managing a single more as that voice called out again. The young royal found herself stopping abruptly, turning her gaze in time to see the customer from earlier, matching contact with his crimson orbs as they were revealed. She felt her brow furrow at the sight of him again, unable to recall why she felt a sense of familiarity about him, or understand why he had chosen to follow her. She looked him over as he inquired her behavior, which she found particularly odd. She made motion to speak, only for the cat man to ask another question, this time regarding the lack of foot traffic about the district.
”Not sure what you’re getting at, but it’s always quiet this early.” The girl would make gesture to a nearby clock, which stood firm at five minutes after seven. Going to be late- Wonderful. she mused wryly after reading the hands he clock face herself. Stalling here and in the emptied shop had cost her a few minutes. Now there existed a chance Mr. Seito might be able to handle the morning rush, but now she’d have to listen to that story about the tortoise again. As much as she didn’t mind the story, it was more rather the way Seito got so sidetracked when telling it, that really made it so tedious to hear. Though perhaps it was the strict sense of duty to help which she upheld, that beckoned her back to the bistro. Stella couldn’t stifle the sigh that followed, shaking her head as she cursed her tardiness.
That was when she turned her focus back on those crimson eyes. ”Look- I don’t know how you know my name, but the whole following me around town thing? Kinda creepy, gonna be honest. I’m not a mouse, so it stops now.” She looked him over with an arrogant air befitting an Elysian royal, her arms crossing with a shift of the hip. Stella looked him over, head to toe, taking into detail of his rather foreign attire and body language. He didn’t appear hostile, but rather the opposite. Past experience kept her guard up regardless, having been taught that cruelty came in many forms.
That was when an unusual sound caught Stella’s senses. A deep series of howls, like a vacuum, would reverberate through the terrace as ebony, inky pools of darkness would begin to manifest all over. Peering around the Mi’qote, wearing a curiosity masked with indifference to the appearance of small, shadowy creatures bearing bright yellow orbs from these anomalies. Stella would make a ”Hmm-“ in the back of her throat, before returning her attention back to the stalking man-kitten. ”Friends of yours, Chronos?” she would ask incredulously, before pausing with surprise. Shock overtook reasoning, and all immediate thoughts of returning to the bistro were then dashed from her mind. Wait- what!? she asked herself. What did she just say? She brought a hand up to her lips, her eyes going wide as they looked back up to the mechanist. Why in the world did she call him that? Was this- was this his name? ”That’s your…But, how did-?” she whispered, focus falling to her feet as the Shadows would close in from the terrace.
What in the world was going on here?

Now Stella's behavior was really starting to get under his skin, his little canines biting down on his lower lip slightly when she talked to him in such a unfriendly way and showed him her more arrogant side. The Mi'qote's ears would slowly fold on his head again now, uncertainty now slowly crawling up into his mind. Was... wasn't she the person he thought her to be? Her name was Stella, yes, but something about her seemed different and she didn't seem to know him at all for her to talk like this to him.
“B..but I..”, he started, looking on the ground for a moment, his hand wandering to upwards to be placed on his hip. So she wasn't the woman that had fought by his side? Yes, the rest of the memory was foggy, but her face was very clear in his mind and some other things. “I was sure you are-”, he started again, but seemed to sink into thoughts for a moment, a hand reaching up to his chin to rub it slightly while he thought about it again. Had it been.. some kind of dream he had with her? Maybe even a vision where he saw everything through the eyes of someone else? But it felt like he had really been there with her by his side, fighting a creature from the void.
However, he didn't have a lot time left to think about it, his ears twitching when he heard a strange noise, his head turning to look what had caused it. His red eyes widened in surprise when he saw little creatures with yellow eyes appearing out of nowhere, six of them total. They started crawling in their direction. They looked like something from the void... was the void connected to this place in some way?
Chronos shook his head when he heard what Stella said, seeming to not think to much into it for a moment. “Nah, I have no connection to monsters like these. Maybe they came from a hole in the- Wait WHAT?!”
His head snapped back to her, mouth slightly open. Did she just say his name?! So she did remember?! Had she been mocking him after all? No.. no the way she seemed surprised by her own words proved that something was not right here. The Warrior shook his head slightly, his hand moving to his back to draw his rifle, the weapon clicking when he undid the safety switch on it. “Hey, listen. Maybe we should continue this, once these things are dealt with. I don't think they are friendly.”

Hearts!
Hearts!
Hearts!
They hungered for more. They thirsted for what they did not have. To sate this hunger they must!
The single primordial desire that drew these creatures here. Of that which there was no mistake. It was very inertia that prompted their scurries forward. Though it was this very urge that would draw more of their ilk unto the fold. A matter of moments was all it took, and they would multiply. Then they would multiply some more. The numbers grew as Shadows stood upon Shadows, each lumbering over the next to get closer to the only hearts in the district. Until the single desire would osmose the collective, unifying them into a large cloud-like horde, which began to mock the form of a giant, Heartless filled snake.
A snake stalking its prey.
Stella watched this rather strange anomaly occur, eyes wandering upward to where this mammoth of a nightmare might possibly have snakelike orbs of its own. Why did it have to be a snake? Stella pondered the taken form, curious just how sentient these creatures might be. They even hissed too, and it wasn’t really something she found that pleasant. "You could say that again-" she muttered under her breath to Chronos. She found herself standing shoulder to shoulder with Chronos as he readied his weapon, the click of the gun resonating in her ears as though she had heard it a million times before. Truth be told it didn’t sound that far off from Vir’s shotgun back home. Maybe that’s why she was confident enough to help him take care of these abominations, or even stand next to him at all. Something about this mysterious traveler told Stella that he wouldn’t try to harm her, even if he was acting a bit strange.
That was when it began.
With a lunge bearing more power and speed than Sher Kahn himself, the large cloud-snake would strike forward, intending to rather ram its targets than bite them outright. Stella would instinctually aim to push Chronos out of the way, before being smashed through the doors of Highwind’s store. Wooden splinters frayed throughout the interior of the shop, as Stella was thrown across the floor, coming to a halt near the far wall. She stirred only briefly, blinking slowly as she fought back the sudden pain shooting through her body. She would ease her head off her forearm, before shaking it slowly as the cloud rang out another hiss outside the shop. She tried to push herself up to her feet, obligated now that the creature had made it her fight. Rising to a kneel, she would take a moment to catch her breath, and fight passed the pain.
The horde of Heartless would round on Chronos, and bare its fangs with all the ferocity of an actual snake. It went so far as to drip a single Shadow from one of the fangs, which flailed fervently through the air, before it exploded on the ground in a pathetic puff of smoke. With another powerful lunge, the faux snake would this time try to ensnare Chronos within its mouth, aiming to fell the Mi’qote with a single fatally consuming gulp of his heart and life.

Chronos's eyes were fixed on the creatures, his pupils turning to slits as he watched how they multiplied and formed into something big. A snake... but it was not like they really fused completely to make it. It was a horde acting as one, synchronizing perfectly almost. It hasn't been often he saw monsters being so organized. He took a deep breath, his hand that held the weapon taking a firm grip on it. He didn't know anything about these monsters so he would have to analyze them first to find their weak point. Since the snake was made out of a lot of these creatures, separating them might be an option or take them out all at once with a strong blow of one of his explosives.
The creature started to move, going for an attack... aimed at Stella! He tried to grab her and drag her away from the attack, but the snake was so much faster than his reflexes this time, sending Stella flying into a shop before the snake would come out again to target him now. “STELLA!”, he screamed, hoping she didn't get hurt to much by the blow and she was able to stand up again. Sadly he couldn't see much but slowly settling dust, so all he could hope was for her to be alright, his eyes fixing on the snake that lunge at him now, trying to devour him.
“Oh no you don't!”, he screamed, his hand moving to his belt to pull out a explosive of his, throwing it right in the mouth of the monster. “Chew on that!”
The explosive would blow up inside of the snake's mouth, the head seeming to shatter back into the small heartless that flew through the air now, some of them that were close to the explosion puffing into a cloud of darkness. Seeing them rain down like that make Chronos laugh, his combat-mode seeming to start as his eyes flickered dangerously. “Now that's what I call heavy rain!”
The heartless tried to reform to make the head anew and attack him again, but Chronos was already getting ready, attaching the Gauss Barrel on the head of his weapon, the device starting to rotate, his rifle firing a shot at one of the heartless that survived that attacked him separately to the group, the shot hitting it in mid air and sending it back to the darkness.

Get up…
The young woman would shake her head, trying to shrug off the less than graceful entrance into the store. Outside she could could hear an explosion, followed timely by a roar. The sounds were muffled, a prominent ringing in her ears slowly fading as Stella’s senses would start to sharpen again. She rose to her feet slowly, taking in a deep breath as she tried to manage control over her emotions. A hand was raised to caress her neck, held where the subtle throb continued to ache. She winced with the pain, but did her best to try and ignore it. ”Hope Seito has an icepack ready…” she muttered to herself, stepping carefully over the tinder that was the shops doors. That was when her boot stepped on something else, prompting Stella to look down to find the box of baked goods, and notice all but a few pastries remained.
Oh no!
She removed her foot from the box to kneel over it, before attempting to search the floor for the rest of the desserts. Gunfire rang out through the air outside, drawing Stella’s focus upward to glimpse out the shop’s threshold. Another roar was heard, and something yelled by Chronos that was indistinct in her ears. Stella found herself dropping the scone in her hand, before looking down to the ruined gift from Mr. Seito. She examined the messy interior of the store, her heart sinking disdainfully at the thought of what this Cid might think, upon seeing his shop like this when he returned. Her brow would furrow with disappointment, before amber eyes narrowed as they returned to the door again. Affirming the mess could be handled after the best was felled, she would ascend the small steps, emerging from the shop to stand just before it.
Her anger with this creature of shadow, was evident on her face, as she stared on coldly as the head of the snake would reform. As the coalescence of smaller creatures shook their unified recreation, before once again bearing fangs in a show of dominant aggression mean to intimidate her. As a faux wind was forced passed her form, the royal would shoot Chronos a look in his direction. ”You ok?” she asked, before returning her focus to the giant shadowy serpent. ”That wasn’t very nice…” she declared to the abomination with an air of defiance. There wasn’t any part of her that desired a fight, not with this thing, not in this town. Though there was no denying that it had to be done, as much as she wished to avoid it. Chronos might be able to take it, after all he had effectively managed to eliminate a hefty number of the Horde. So many reasons why one should never entertain the taste of scarlet; a cry for a life of innocence was key to her head, a fear that kept her chained to the ritual adhere.
This is the only time-
The promise she tried to make with herself, was one she knew that possibly wouldn’t be kept. If there existed more of these things among the world, then it was a certainty she would need to call on her gifts again. Though it was certainly an odd coincidence, that these things would show up not long after Chronos had. Whether they had followed him, or were drawn forth by their combined presence, it made little difference now. It was time to do away with them. As certain as Stella knew this, it would be sure to evoke a night filled with regret. Her eyes would then flare a multitude of colors, all blending about one another within the ring of her irises, as an otherworldly steam began to emit from her body’s form. ”If you abominations can feel anything…” she began, her voice rising in volume and intensity before a dramatic pause. A surge of inertia would emit from her body, as an intense aura of ever-changing colors and heat would suddenly spring to life around Stella. "-YOU WILL KNOW FEAR!” yelled the royal, throwing out her right hand as a brilliant flash would summon her rapier.
A fierce cry for war burned through her throat, before she charged at the recoiling serpent with a sprint. The creature would make another lunge for the girl, only to miss as she made a slide across the ground to dodge it, bringing her sword up as she rose with a sharp slash. Shadowy smoke would plume from the faux snake’s midsection as more Heartless were destroyed, causing it to flail as the Horde attempted to regroup. As she turned with a flourish of her sword, Stella’s freed hand would raise to the air, as a helix of mana began to coalesce into a trinity of azure orbs. They were clasped tightly into a fist, before the royal would force an open palm in the direction of her foe, which snaked after her onto the terrace. The orbs would travel forward to greet the fanged mouth, each detonating a powerful explosion upon contact. The resulting blasts would dishevel the Heartless from their snakelike form, as a fierce blowback of wind would billow the young woman’s hair. Multiple plumes of smoke began to erect all over the terrace, before what Shadows remained tried to reform in a cloud.
Multicolored eyes watched on as the cloud took to the air, writhing about as it attempted to snake around the expanse of the district, before making another sweep in Chronos’ direction. Once more it would aim to swallow him whole, but this time with intent to snare, and pull the Mi’qote along for a ride through the sky.

Chronos seemed very amused with the chance of a good fight coming up today. Yes, the shop was a victim of the battle.... hopefully he wouldn't have to pay for the damage in nay way? Who knows how the fault-game works here. Someone has to pay for that shit and if it isn't the city itself, than his pocket would soon have a hole in it.
Whatever, there were more important things to take care off, like that bundle of black creatures that still didn't give up on their assault. He was getting ready for an other attack from the beast, when he heard Stella's voice, his head turning to look at her. She seemed fine if you don't count a few scratched on her body. Damn, that girl was lucky. It also seemed the fire had returned to her eyes, her powers flaring up as she went on an attack on the monster. Finally! There was the warrior he was looking for this whole time! Together, they could easily turn this snake into mush. His blast had already damaged a lot of them and Stella's attacks seemed to upset that thing even more now that it was loosing more of these shadows with every attack that hit. The horde of heartless seemed to target him again now that the attack on Stella had failed.
Chronos cursed, knowing he won't be fast enough right now to unlock the flamethrower and burn these things before they would reach him. He jumped to the side in hopes of rolling out of the attack, but sadly those things got a hold of his leg and dragged him into the air with them. “Son of a- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!”
He was carried into the air, the claws of the beasts digging into his leg, trying to pull him inside to take him apart from all sides. Like HELL! Chronos cursed, grabbing hold of his Special bullets, shoving them inside the weapon and locking it in haste, before turning his weapon, the barrel pointing at the horde that had him in it's grip.
He fired three shot's from his weapon, the ice-bullets piercing into the horde and the creatures that held his leg. The first two bullets hit the enemies, but the liquid didn't spread and Chronos already wanted to gulp but then finally.. success! The last bullet burst, the liquid spraying over the horde, ice immediately forming out of nowhere and taking hold of them. The creatures shrieked as Chronos kicked himself free of their grip now, already bracing himself for the painful hit from such a height. The Mi'qote broke free and fell down, the shadows just having passed the roof of a house. His body hit the bricks, rolling down the roof to the edge. He took hold of a chimney, his face twisted in pain. His leg was clawed open by those things, but he still held his gun in his free hand like a boss. The heartless-horde seemed to lose coordination with part of it frozen and it crashed into the wall of the district, trying to reform as some of the heartless shattered from the ice.

There were few things in Libra that truly proved a challenge to fight out in the wild. Some were clever, and well adapted to their environment. Others weren’t and simply relied on their raw, brute strength in order to fell their prey. There were records of some avians utilizing flock formations against predators, working in unison to take down a larger threat to save the nests. Though never before had Stella witnessed such harmony, nor felt such a foreboding sense of dread from so many smaller, weaker creatures. They stood there in the plaza, watching and gauging the pattern of the cloud’s direction, coming to frown as the Horde would sweep Chronos skyward. Rolling her eyes as Chronos started to yelp like a little girl, Stella would raise a hand to call after him. ”The screaming isn’t helping!”
A blast of cold rang out through the shadowy mass, moments before she saw the machinist fall from the writhing sky. She hurried forward in a jog when he hit the house, taking a path into an alleyway. The rapier would vanish in another brilliant flash of colors, as Stella came to a slow; the sound of the Heartless’ collision with a district wall booming through the area. The abrupt sound caused the girl to stop, before she glanced around nervously for any signs of Chronos on the edge of the rooftops. ”H-hey! Where’d you go!? This isn’t a time to be playing hide and seek!” she called out, trying to listen for any signs of her ally. Then there was a deep howl at the end of the alley, as the Heartless Horde came flying around the corner.
They were coming at her fast, and it would only serve to prove they were becoming more aggressive. Stella weighed her options for escape, before deciding to climb the stack of wooden crates nearby. As the Horde made another lunge, the girl in black would make a desperate leap for the edge of the roof. Struggling to pull herself up, Stella would reach out for the nearest thing to grab; a long, fuzzy pipe cleaner some chimney sweep probably left behind. After pulling on it to make sure it was stable, not realizing what it might really be (the roar of the Horde drowning out even her own breath), Stella would use this thing as an impromptu rope to hoist herself up. Once this was done, she rolled over onto her back, taking a moment to catch her breath. She shot the pipe cleaner a glance, before she came to realize it wasn’t a pipe cleaner at all.
It was a tail.
Eyes would widen out of guilt and embarrassment, before Stella sat upright to find Chronos clinging to the chimney. ”Ooh! I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to-“ she brought a hand up to her lips, before she gave him a skim with her eyes for wounds. That was when she caught a glimpse of the gash in his leg, and she couldn’t help but feel awful over it. Stella would look at him with sympathy in her eyes, before the Horde would shoot skyward once more, drawing her focus from the injured Mi’qote. The Horde attempted to reform its snakelike guise, yet was noticeably smaller, as what Heartless had become frozen had effectively been removed from the main mass. What little bits of snow that peppered the ground and walls of the nearby buildings, were all that remained of the little boogers turned smoke. As the faux serpent would rise, some Heartless were thrown out, spread eagled so as to try and vaguely resemble a hood. These things sure were trying too hard, that was for certain.

Like the hit on the roof and the gash on his leg wasn't enough, it seemed Stella still had time to make fun of him, from what he heard when he was in the air and shortly after he hit the roof. His attack had been a success, but the horde was still on the move, rushing through the streets... and than something grabbed his tail that was hanging from the edge of the roof, his eyes widening as he screamed out in a high-pitched tone, his tail ruffling up completely from the immense pain of something holding on to it and pulling themselves up. He already had tears in his eyes, clinging to the thing in his hand, continuing to scream bloody murder, until she finally was on the roof and let go of it again, his ears folded back on his head, a long growl all he got muster at Stella after she realized what she had done and started to apologize. “Stella.. I swear to the twelve... one day..”, he started hissing, but kept most of the rest to himself right now, his tail curling close to his body, all puffed up. He let looked to her, carefully pulling himself into a more save position, so he could let go of that thing, his hand now wondering down to hold his bleeding leg, the other hand still holding his rifle, his body trying to position itself. Those things were still able to reform and Chronos had lost part of his mobility thanks to them. He pushed himself on his stomach, taking his rifle in both hands again now. “Those things just don't give up...!”He grabbed an orb on his belt and threw it into the air somewhere in front of him, the orb suddenly opening up and transforming into a turret that immediately started to fire on the creature. He hoped that the flying turret would act as a decoy for now and pull that things attention away from them. It seemed to work, the blast from the turret making the creature turn to it, the monster dashing forward ,opening it's mouth and swallowing it whole, the heartless busy at scratching at it from all sides. In the meantime, Chronos pressed a button on the side of the Haurchevant, the weapon seeming to click for a moment, before it would open up to the sides, the weapon seeming to slide apart, before Chronos would start to unlock a few other parts, parts of the rifle sliding into other places and turning into an other type of firearm, before he would try to get up on his feet again, trying his best to ignore his wounded leg. “You gotta help me here, girl. That thing will turn me into it's breakfast like this. I just need to get close enough so I can turn it into a snake-torch.”
Chronos gets his tail pulled and takes damage! Thanks Stella...

The wayward queen felt her heart sink with the mechanist’s retort, eyes hardening as they once more fell upon the wound in his leg. The heat of the Light returned as eldritch rainbow fire surrounded her right hand. As Chronos would make to throw something from his belt, Stella would reach out over the wound, and try to heal it. Though as it brightened, nothing would happen. The Light then extinguished on Stella’s command, before she brought a palm up as though to inspect it. The clicks of Chronos’ weapon change filled her ears, as she began to frown at her powers ineffectiveness. What the hell was going on here? She had been able to heal Moira and Vir any time they needed it in the past. Why then could she not bring herself to do the same for this injured gunner? Something was very wrong here. Something had happened to her powers, the young royal was certain of much.
The most disturbing part, was that she had no recollection of anything having transpired to have achieved this.
Think- think! What was the name of that spell again!?
Nothing came to mind. Only silent failure.
Gunfire rang out as a turret began to open fire, drawing the shadowy foe’s focus. Stella heard another loud hiss before it attacked the turret, with most of whatever Chronos had yelled drowned out by the sound. All she could discern among the chaotic symphony were the words ”help me”- an apparent prompt for the girl to shake her head with disapproving growl of her own. ”Well apparently I don’t remember how to, Mister Kitty- Or I already would h-“ yelled Stella, before slapping Chronos’ injured leg absentmindedly. A bright rainbow hued flash would emit with a kinetic pulse, before the pair were blinked across the battle field to within a few feet from the main mass of the Heartless Horde. ”-ave…What the h-“ began and paused Stella, before casting a look of disbelief to her sudden change of location, and proximity to the shadowy cloud.
She looked down at the hand used to slap the Mi’qote, eyes widening a tad as they slowly wandered up to the turret, as though of cue, would explode in a timely manner. The burst of the fireball within the cloud of Heartless would send out a gush of wind, which would billow and ruffle the pair’s clothing and hair with a sudden, yet quick torrent of fury. A scream of Shadows becoming smoke could be heard behind the hand Stella raised to shield her eyes from the blast. ”If you’re gonna do anything I think now…” she would call out for Chronos to take the more than obvious hint. Hopefully the better distance, and the backfire of the beast’s aggression could help the mechanist take it down for good.

Chronos had a feeling that Stella had a sadistic side she always pulled out around him. He heard that she was doing something to his leg and saw a glow in a corner of his eye and for a moment he thought she actually tried to heal him.. before she slapped his injured leg, Chronos cursing out. "STELLA, PLEASE!", he hissed at her, punching the ground from the waves of pain he felt thropping in his leg from it. He almost wanted to point the flamethrower at her to teach her a lesson, but before he could even think about, she started calling him a kitty, starting to argue with him, before a flash of light would take both of them somewhere else, closer to the creature. Chronos blinked, trying to figure out what happened, giving Stella a rather confused look, before his ears would perk up at the explosion of his turret. Stella was right, this was his chance. He could scream at her later and pull her ears for messing with him like this. The creature was just in range, so he shoved Stella firmly behind him, before a smirk would appear on his face and he pushed down the trigger of his weapon. "BURN YOU SUCKER!"A odem of flames shot out of the weapon's barrel, the flames ingulfing the horde of heartless, the snake shrieking and moving around in agony. He kept on setting it on fire, until the flames slowly subsided from his barrel, the creature now on the ground, the heartless scattering and running around like crazy, before they fell to the ground and vanished from the immense damage. The snake was no more and all heartless had turned to ash. A rather violent way of killing something, but the Mi'qote was sure it was justified. He sighed in relief, letting go of the weapon and faceplanting on the ground with a growl. "Finally.."He moved up his hand, face still on the ground, finger pointing at Stella. "You owe me a breakfast, you hear me? And a cool-bag for my leg once it is healed."His hand wandered to the safety switch on his weapon, pressing it for the weapon to form back to it's rifle-form before he would carefully sit up again, taking in the mess this creature had made. "No wonder the streets were emtpy.. they must have known that thing was on the loose." Chronos took damage from Stella's slap on his leg
Chronos uses his Flamethrower and turns the heartless-snake into Barbeque
Fight End.

”If this is to end in fire… Then we should all burn together… Watch the flames climb higher- into the night…”
The roar of flames and expiring Heartless would fill the air, as a fireball erupted to consume what was left of the Horde. Stella would peer through the cracks of the fingers shielding her eyes from the blast, eventually lowering them as the fight would come to a rather startling conclusion. She took a moment to catch her breath, and dust off her jacket, which still had a bit of dirt on it from the struggle. The young royal would take a glance around, noting that Chronos and herself were once more in the plaza, now that the swirling mass of the Horde was no longer impeding anyone’s vision. Thinking back to just how this was accomplished, and how she failed to heal the Mi’qote’s injury, she considered the possibility that a fair amount of her powers had been forgotten. A palm was brought up again to inspect it, the girl once again frowning at the thought of such a likelihood. It was all very disconcerting, were this to prove true.
This wasn’t a problem she had ever faced back home, or rather, had not faced in many years. The training to endure the powers granted by the Light of Libra, required the memories of them in order to function properly. At least, it was what Uncle Titulus always theorized. Father never agreed, believing that the powers were retained within the heart, regardless whether or not a chosen heir possessed the capacity to recall them. Stella was never certain which side held truth, having come to eventually accept both points of views with a grain of salt. She just never imagined that such a thing could possibly affect her. Though there was no denying that something happened. The important question now, was what that occurrence was exactly.
She looked up to the nearest clock, as she came to find over thirty minutes had passed during the conflict. Now she was definitely late- now she was certainly guaranteed a reprimanding from Mr. Seito. How could a simple delivery go so wrong!? The very thought of it all irritated Stella, whom flared her nostrils with a sharp exhale. When Chronos took his sigh of relief, Stella’s focus was drawn to him, her gaze meeting the pointed finger in her direction. She owed him!? The nerve! This only gave rise to a new flame that birthed within the wayward queen, whom pushed herself to her feet as Chronos tended to his weapon. She ignored the following comment, as well as the mess of the district around them. Rounding Chronos’ form as he sat up, Stella would stop in front of him, looking down upon the Mi’qote with a narrowed gaze.
Another surge of heat about her form, another brilliant flash of rainbow hued, eldritch flames, and the sharp tip of the rapier’s blade was was brought to within an inch of Chronos’ face. ”The only thing owed here are answers. You know my name, and- somehow I know yours.” She stood firm, ready for another fight if this interrogation would come to blows. ”We both know each other? Then you’re already aware I’m far faster than you. Now-“ The Elysian viper within would then rear its vicious head. That was when she stepped forward, and would press a boot firmly on the wound in Chronos’ injured leg. The rapier was then lowered from the tip of his nose, downward to point at his neck. ”START TALKING OR YOU DIE!” she announced, her tone loud, and firm with a sense of authority befitting her status back home. One way or another, she was going to unfurl this mystery.
