Clopin waited in the plaza’s recently constructed Struggle Pit, Megaphone in hand. He’d eyed it distastefully for a bit before figuring out how to use it. They didn’t exist in his world. ”Welcome Ladies and Gentleman!” he greeted the gathering crowds, a devious look in his eyes. ”Today we’re bringing a whole festival of different events to Disney Town Plaza and I’m pleased to also note that this is the first ever Struggle tournament I’ve had the privilege of hosting! Without further delay, Struggler Alexius, and Struggler Black Waltz, please approach the pit! Ah I’ve seen the both of you before!” He grinned widely looking from side to side. ”Take your places so we may begin!” He jingled away to leave the pit’s space open to the Strugglers.

"Get out of my way! Do you dare fight a Black Waltz?" Black Waltz 3 stepped out as he was instructed, a MASSIVE struggle-club in his hands. It had to be custom made, built for someone of his size and stature. T'was a large... club, about seven feet long with a hand-guard akin to a cutlass. It was also relatively light weight with a short handle meant for the use of only one hand. His burning yellow gaze flicked in the direction of the judge as he remarked having seen him before, his eyes narrowing ever so slightly. He knew not what he was talking about, the deluded creature... He had nothing to say to his opponent either... nothing that wouldn't include threatening his meager existence. There would be no magic in this fight, no spells of any kind... Just beating the orbs off his opponent... Fighting hand-to-hand was never the machine's strong-suit, always preferring to destroy at a distance but he could make this work... After all, he towered over his opponent at 10 feet and would likely have the size and strength advantage. One strike perhaps knock all his orbs off... But he mustn't get over-confident... Not before the match had even started and when he hadn't earned it yet, anyway. While he was superior in EVERY WAY no doubt, The Waltz knew that even a rat could knock over a predator when it wasn't looking... And so, in an act perhaps uncharacteristic of him, the Waltz took up a defensive stance, holding his club out in front of him in a stalwart guard. [Guard]Should his opponent go on the offensive, the Waltz would use his club to deflect oncoming strikes, his weapon-arm shoving away each and every blow with precision and talent befitting of a swordsman. [Guard]He couldn't remain turtled up in his defense forever, though and would peak out only after an attack had graced his defense once more before lashing out with a quick thrust at his opponent's head, aiming to knock off a ball or two! [Parry]With that momentum started, the Machine would go back on the offensive, thrusting the tip of his club at his opponent's chin to relieve him of more of his orbs! [Black Waltz 3 Strikes]With his offense delivered, the machine would fall back on his defenses once more, pushing away further potential strikes with his club before lashing out with a swipe at the opponent's club-shoulder as punishment for their aggression and to release another few orbs! [Parry]Finally, the Machine would disengage from the battle entirely to collect his earnings, spreading his wings in a mighty flap to propel himself around the arena. scooping up any free orb he could gather with his unoccupied hand! I WILL WALK MY OWN PATH. IT'S NOW OR NEVER. AS a SeeD, Alexius had seen quite a few things. He'd seen actual living dinosaurs, haunted suits of armor, deer like beasts with sickle like horns, and even a giant Thunderbird that had become his Guardian Force. But this? This was new. What he was seeing now looked like a stereotypical Black Mage card from Triple Triad..but scaled up to be ten feet tall. He had given his competitor the room to walk up onto the stage first. Given how large he was, it was probably better for Alexius to see just how much of the stage he took up before he started making plans.
Of course while his opponent walked up to the stage, Alexius made sure to check his equipment. His struggle club was very much a regular one. He didn't have the skill to use the odd placement of a struggle wand to his advantage..and well..there were a couple of the hand guards from the more defensive ones mounted on his usually gauntleted hand. He'd been given permission ahead of time to make a makeshift parrying gauntlet. It didn't really displace any orbs, so none of them had minded.
Of course, when Clopin announced the beginning of their round, time seemed to slow down for Alexius as he started to weigh all of his choices. This thing was a black mage looking guy, but it also would have an amount of strength high enough for it to be able to bear its own weight, which was not inconsiderable. He probably was fast as well. So without many options left to him, he took up a guarding stance..at the same time as his opponent had. Alexius felt a stiff breeze blow through the area as they stared each other down.
[Guard]
Eventually, Alexius understood that he would have to make the first move. So, he went in for a swing, his movements being quick and obviously very well practiced, as his strike did land very solidly, even with the considerable strength of his opponent's guard. Unfortunately, the pushback that Alexius was given from that guard was enough to make him stumble!
Still, he had to quickly look around. Were there any orbs? No. There were not. That was unfortunate. He was very much hoping to take an early lead here. Sadly, it seemed that doing that was just a mere pipe dream.
[Collect-Failed]
However, as he was looking for orbs, he noticed his opponent start to move. As he swung for Alexius, the sandy haired swordsman brought up his mock gauntleted hand, catching the attempted swing with the back of his 'gauntlet'. The movement itself was enough to essentially deflect his opponent's club. But unfortunately, it did very well knock a few of his own orbs off, as well as a couple of his opponent's orbs from the very fast motion that they both just went through. "Now now, don't you know that attacking someone while they aren't looking is rude?" He asked with a grin as he dropped his hand. It was obvious that this was no serious matter for Alexius. This was just a mock battle. He could handle losing here.
[Parry]
Of course, right after he made that joking statement, he went for another powerful strike with his club, only to have it once again meet his opponent's club, knocking it away and having a similar affect to his own parrying. Well, this was interesting. For Alexius, this game was no longer about actually winning or losing. It was more of an interesting Dynamic. So while his opponent started gathering the small handful of orbs that they had both lost, Alexius put up his guard once again. This was going to be an interesting battle.

The Strugglers seemed at first reluctant to strike and the blonde young man made the first attempt but wasn't able to break through the Waltz's defense. The Walt'z strike was parried knocking them both clean of some of their ORBS only for the same thing to happen again on Alexius' end. Alexius in response moved to shield himself giving the Black Waltz just enough time to collect the orbs dropped from those parried blows. The Waltz is in the lead...for now.
The Black Waltz:GUARD (Does nothing, no attack made)
GUARD (Guarded and negated the five damage from Alexius’ strike)
PARRY (No strike made so Parry does nothing)
STRIKE (Strike is made against Alexius and Parried! Waltz drops 2 ORBS 13/15)
PARRY (Oncoming Strike is made from Alexius but is Parried lessening the blow. Waltz drops 2 ORBS 11/15)
COLLECT (8 ORBS are on the field. Waltz collects.19/15)
Alexius: Guard (Does nothing, no Attack Made by the Waltz)
Strike (Strike was deflected by Waltz)
Collect (Does nothing. No dropped ORBS to collect)
Parry (Oncoming Strike from Waltz is Parried lessening the blow. Alexius drops 2 ORBS 13/15)
Strike (Strike is made against Waltz but is parried! Alexius drops 2 ORBS 11/15)
Guard (Does nothing, No attack made)

"Get out of my way! Do you dare fight a Black Waltz?" The "Struggle" started off slowly with both fighters taking a defensive stance, choosing to not make the first move in being the aggressor. Alexius came to the conclusion that the machine wouldn't be the first one to give and came at him, bringing his club down on the Waltz in a downward stroke towards his head, a stroke that was aptly deflected with a quick raise of his own club! The Attack bounced wide of it's target, sending the swordsman stumbling back, allowing the Waltz to go on the offensive and throw a swing of his own! The Swordsman was quick to recover, however and quickly raised his gauntlet between his vulnerable chin and the head of the oncoming club, deflecting the strike in such a way that the energy generated between the impact of his gauntlet and the club knocked loose a few orbs from each of them! He didn't seem bothered by the loss of his orbs, Alexius didn't throwing a playful barb the Waltz's way as he turtled back on his defense. "If you cannot pay attention, you will fail in this battle." The Waltz growled in response, deflecting a counter-strike from his opponent and landing quick poke at his gut which shook some more of their orbs loose! Alexius didn't seem overly concerned yet either, even as the Waltz began scooping up orb after orb, giving him a grand total of 19 compared to the 15 he'd started with! The Man simply fell back on his guard and waited... Well... Black Waltz 3 couldn't have that anymore, could he? Now that he had such a safety net to work with, he could afford to be a little aggressive... And aggressive he would be! With a flap of his wings, the Waltz shot towards his opponent, bringing his club upward in a vicious arc, letting him feel the full power of the perfect Black Mage! [Waltz Strikes]He wouldn't just leave it at that, either! Whether or not his club came in contact the way it was supposed to, the machine would lash out again, this time thrusting his club down at the man's knee-cap, hoping to take down his leg... and coincidentally knock off more orbs! [Waltz Strikes]Once his attacks have been made, Black Waltz 3 hopped back, raising his club as he glanced around the arena to see what he damage he had done, what prizes he had to collect. He did this all behind his club which he held before him, awaiting the arrival of his opponent and all his answers to the Waltz's aggression! [Guard]Should he manage to find a way out of a potential assault, the machine would RUSH the stage again, collecting as many of his rival's (and potentially his own) orbs as possible, filling up his hoard to an even greater capacity! [Collect]Once his treasures had been neatly stored away, the Waltz would ready himself for an oncoming strike, no doubt punishing him for his attempts at winning! As a strike would come in, the Waltz would duck in LOW, ramming the pommel of his club into Alexius' chest! Of course, this manuver would cost him a few orbs but it'd be well worth it! [Parry]With that blow delivered (or not potentially), The Black Waltz would retreat again, hiding behind his club as he determined his next move... [Guard]@tag

I WILL WALK MY OWN PATH. IT'S NOW OR NEVER. WHEN he heard the blunt hostility from his opponent, Alexius couldn't help but click his tongue. "Jeez. This isn't a battle, this is a pastime from a sleepy little town. Are you really so serious about everything?" Alexius asked as he watched his opponent gather up orbs. Of course, that seemed to actually hit a nerve. At least, it seemed that way to Alexius, as his opponent suddenly went for a swing. But that was exactly what the swordsman had been counting on. Rather than trying to follow up with a guard or a parry, Alexius dove headfirst into combatQ Swinging his club just beneath the wide sweep of his opponent's massive club, Alexius took the hit, while also hopefully connecting and losing orbs from the both of them! Sure, Alexius didn't have many orbs to work with. But that meant that he could be trickier with his strategy.
[Attack]
Luckily for Alexius, his plan seemed to be paying off, as his opponent swung once again! This swing towards Alexius's kneecap was met with a surprising amount of resistance from both the adjusted grip on his struggle bat to deflect the force, and the natural strength that those muscles held from his training as a soldier. That worked wonders, as it prevented his opponent from knocking away any more of his orbs.
[Guard]
However, Alexius had seen the way this opponent of his fought. So to be on the safe side, he quickly adjusted his guard stance once his opponent drew back. And this was a move that was mirrored by his opponent. Once again, they were both going on the defensive.
[Guard]
However, Alexius was even more wary than his opponent, as he had been ready to switch to another deflection with his parrying gauntlet..only to watch his opponent fly around and gather orbs. However..Alexius noticed something. There were ten orbs on the stage now. Their hits had succeeded. But his opponent only gathered up eight of them. There were two left behind. That gave him an idea.
[Parry-Failed]
This idea was admittedly a little crazy. But he figured it could be crazy in a way that worked. He dove into attacking range headfirst once again. This time, he swung out low.
[Attack]
This was responded with by a pommel to the chest. But it at least helped his plan, as they each dropped a good few orbs. Right after that, Alexius's opponent went on the defensive. That gave Alexius time to actually dash throughout the arena at a rather breakneck speed. He collected his dropped orbs, and the orbs from his opponent.
Admittedly, he felt a bit lighter. But he had gone into this knowing he wasn't going to win. It wasn't that he was bad at combat. Quite the opposite. It was more that he didn't plan to take this tournament as seriously as he had taken the dancing one. This was more along his path for unwinding. It was similar to his training days. [Collect] With that in mind, he didn't quite care that he was losing. This was just for fun after all.

An ORBless field left behind and two very cautious strugglers. Where was the action? Where was the drive? Ah more strikes now THAT's more like it, and did you see that Parry?" Cautious onlookers really couldn't be sure if the Waltz actually knew that this was meant to be a game. Perhaps it was just from his fierce visage.
The Black Waltz:Strike (Waltz strikes but is also struck and drops 5 ORBS 14/15)
Strike (Waltz strikes but Alexius Guarded and blocked the attack.)
Guard (Does Nothing No Attack is made)
Collect (10 ORBS are on the field. Waltz collects 8. 22/15)
Parry (Alexius’ strike was successfully parried! Waltz drops 2 ORBS 20/15)
Guard (Does nothing. No Attack made.)
Alexius: Strike (Alexius strikes but is also struck and drops 5 ORBS 6/15)
Guard (Guarded against Waltz’s attack.)
Guard (Does Nothing No Attack is made)
Parry (Does Nothing, Waltz made no attack)
Strike (Alexius’ strike was Parried by the Waltz. Alexius drops 3 ORBS 3/15)
Collect (7 ORBS are on the field. Alexius collects 5. 10/15)
GO

Alexius Frey has failed to respond in an appropriate amount of time. Black Waltz 3 wins the battle.
