"Of course," Kairi said. She did not feel somewhat uncomfortable around this man, not sensing any form of malicious darkness hidden within him. Although she initially attributed it to just being a gut feeling, there also had been an explanation as to why she felt the way she felt: as a Princess of Heart, she was particularly sensitive to darkness, which reminded her of the way she had felt when she had found her way to the Secret Place that one stormy night, sluggish and rather out of it. The last thing she saw was Sora before nothingness and then, she found herself watching from within the depths of his heart.
"The place is called Twilight Town. It's home to my friends. It's where sea-salt ice cream originated from," Kairi continued, the memories of Naminé hanging around the shops, getting sea-salt ice cream for Riku and DiZ – the guy wrapped in red bandages. At the mere thought of him, she remembered the fact that he had sacrificed himself, for the better, and that he apologised to Roxas for causing him so much pain. It was unfortunate that he couldn't tell Roxas that himself. "I have friends to visit when I'm there."
An idea popped into her head. "Hey mister, why not I'll tell you the names of my friends? Let me know the name of your friends and brother. When I see them, I'll let them know that you've been looking for them," she said. A pregnant but comfortable silence fell over them as she waited for an answer, rocking eagerly back and forth on her toes. TAGGED // @edgar NOTES // How to make Edgar feel old 101: call him mister.

"Twilight Town. Huh. That is quite a fitting name for a world with a permanently setting sun." The king commented as he placed his right hand on his chin in contemplation of what she had informed him. She explained that it was home to some of her friends and is where this delectable ice cream was created. It certainly seemed like fiction, but he couldn't deny it's existence. If he had traveled to another world without consent or transportation, then he couldn't simply write it off as imaginary. Kairi seemed quite sure of herself in it's existence. That should be enough to believe her.
That's when it happened.
Mister
Edgar visibly flinched at the word being used. Yes, he was older than her. Yes, it was a respectful statement. But, it hurt more than he expected it to. It was as if he'd just been smacked by a magitek armor. The king was practically cringing sitting there thinking that he'd just been referred to as a 'mister'. After a moment, he managed to start recovering. The king forced a smile before replying. "E-edgar is fine...please" He half corrected and practically begged before he cleared his throat, bringing his hand in a closed fist to his face to do so before returning it to his side.
"That does sound like a brilliant idea though. My friends dress a bit strangely like myself. My brother's name is Sabin. He looks much like myself, but tends not to wear a shirt to show off his build. He's a monk. Terra is a blonde mage. Her hair is usually tied up but it doesn't take away from her beauty. She wears a short red patterned dress with matching finger-less gloves and boots, usually with a cloak. She doesn't speak very much, but I don't mind." He paused, smiling softly as he pictured her. That is, before he cleared his throat again. "There's the thief with the heart of gold, Locke. Celes is a former general and her yellow attire screams it. Cyan is an older man, clad in armor as well. Shadow... yeah, never mind. You won't meet him. Gau is a wild child, a bit beastly at times, bright green hair and usually says his name a million times during a conversation. Relm is about his age, a painter. Though, she can be a bit snarky. Her grandfather's name is Strago. Older man, older than Cyan. White hair and beard. Inside of his cloak has diagonal black and white stripes. Hard to miss.... and Setzer... he's a sky pirate. But, not as important." He gave a brief run down. Though, he doubted she'd meet any of them.
"What about your friends?" He inquired. Maybe he'd be able to assist her.

"Alright, Edgar," Kairi let out a giggle, noting how nervous he sounded but she couldn't quite place a finger on why. Had she said something wrong?
As he spoke, she took in the details of his dressing, noting which parts of it stood out to her so that she could keep an eye out for similar sort of garments on his friends, all while listening to what he said about his brother. There was so much information to take in but if she listened carefully, Kairi knew she'd be able to pinpoint them out with as much accuracy as possible.
From the sound of it, it wasn't just a small group of them but a whole party of them. By now, it was harder to remember all the details but the most important thing was that she remembered their names: Sabin, Terra, Locke, Celes, Shadow, Gau, Relm and Setzer. The last name rang in her head – she had heard his name somewhere before, but where?
When he was done giving all the details, Kairi knew it was her turn to describe her friends. "Two boys," she held up two fingers and continued, "One of them has spiky brown hair. His name is Sora and he's a Keyblade wielder. He's kind of a doofus and really silly. The second boy is Riku — he's got silver hair, cyan-coloured eyes and real tall. He, too, is a Keyblade wielder. To be more precise, he's a Keyblade master. I'm waiting for the both of them to come back and get me once they're done with the more dangerous stuff."
Kairi let out a huff. How long were they going to take? TAGGED // @edgar NOTES // Sorry for the incredibly late reply. Was in a very bad writing slump.

"Well, don't I feel the fool giving you a complete list only to have to look for two for you. I presumed you would certainly have the larger friend group." He joked as he took in the description and names of the friends. Sora and Riku. But, he did seem a bit unsure about one detail. "Keyblade wielders? I'm not quite sure I follow." This was his first time hearing about such a thing. A Key blade? A blade in the shape or size of a key? No, there was certainly a better explanation of what it was. That would be silly. How could you do much of anything fighting someone with a pair of keys?
It was a relief that Kairi had agreed to call his Edgar. He wasn't sure how he would handle such a thing to continue. If anything, he was a "Master" over a "Mister". But, he was far more used to "King" or "Your Majesty". He always preferred Edgar over such titles. Though, some insisted on calling him nicknames when he would prefer them to use his full title. Those would be the people he disliked or the ones that left a foul taste in his mouth. The culprit being Kefka. That clown had been far more docile in the past and had been a rather decent general before the experiments. He'd just eventually lost his mind. Maybe that would something he should speak up about.
"Oh, maybe I should offer some advise. I recently ran into a villain on my world. He's quite mad and far more dangerous than he seems. He stands out amongst a crowd quite easily. Though, I'm sure you'll realize his intent before either speak a word. His name is Kefka. He... looks like a jester to be quite frank. Pale face as if wearing white paint with his lips and eyes painted purple and red... Just keep yourself away from him." He advised, his expression more serious than he'd been before. Kefka had wrecked his world. He was worried he'd make his mark on others as well.

Kairi watched as an expression of confusion flickered across his face at the mention of a Keyblade. She had to remind herself that although a good number of people she had encountered knew about the Keyblade, there were still a large normal of them who weren't aware of its existence; Master Yen Sid had taught her that.
"So this is what we use to protect the worlds," Kairi explained, feeling the tips tingle with a familiar sensation. She extended her arm to the side and the next thing she knew, her fingers were clasped around the cool metal of her Keyblade, feeling its familiar weight in her hand. Heartless existed everywhere, as long as there was darkness lingering in the depths of people's heart. Kairi had long come to accept that without light, darkness would overtake the worlds. However, without the existence of darkness, there might as well be no light.
The key to everything was moderation. While Kairi knew that she was nothing but pure light, there were people out there to get her, to make use of its raw power for nefarious purposes. "While normal weapons can take out the Heartless, Keyblades free their hearts," she continued. "Heartless are created from the darkness of people's hearts. Most of the time, people become Heartless because..."
Her sentence faded into a somewhat uncomfortable silence, the unspoken message hanging in the air: they were attacked, killed... In any case, they hadn't been a choice for them. TAGGED // @edgar NOTES // Here you go, Mister Edgar.

Edgar was not expecting a weapon to magically appear out of thin air. Magic was a very different thing on his world. If you were embued with magic, there were a few different scenarios. Yet, most pointed at the fact you were an esper, or half esper, or were lugging around a dead esper's essence. That, or the less popular from a very remote clan that were trained in the art by espers. Or you were an experiment of the Empire's government. So, it was expected that the King actually jump a bit at the sudden existence of this strange weapon. His own was secured in plain sight for everyone to see. He did not have the ability to be able to summon his weapon from another dimension.
The King was a bit hesitant to get any closer than he was now to her. He leaned a bit to the side to look at it a bit. It was literally a key. "W-well that was quite a m-magic trick there. So it's l-literally a overs-sized key. Interesting..." He didn't want to ask or question anything. Though, she was just a child. So it was much safer to assume that if she was violent, she would have already attacked. He swallowed a bit harder than he normally would. It was obvious that her magic trick struck some sort of nerve.
The man cleared his throat before speaking again. "The shadows with the glowing eyes..." He nodded in understanding. So, they were people that had been killed. ".... I understand. But what beings are susceptible to this? We have had people killed on our world... yet they did not become these beings? At least, not to my knowledge."

"Looks like a jester," Kairi repeated to herself, committing it to memory. Alright, at least this dude was warning her in advance. "You'd need to beware of a man named Xehanort and the many variations of him. He plans to take people's away from them and turn them into his own beings."<p>
She paused for a moment. If he didn't understand what Keyblades were, then it would be difficult to explain to him what the Heartless was and her role in the entire situation was. At the same time, she did not want to reveal her true status — the more people knew that she was a Princess of Heart, the more danger she would be in; she wasn't going to offer herself to the wolves just like that.
"I guess your world is fortunate to not have encountered these things yet," Kairi explained, noting that the entire concept was quite new to him. The expression on his face was pretty self-explanatory. "Wanna find a place to sit down and talk?"
The least she could do was to take a proper seat and help spread the knowledge so that there were people capable enough in knocking down the bad guys. The more help she had on their side, it was definitely a lot more beneficial for both themselves and him.
She dismissed her Keyblade and it disappeared with a flash of light. Kairi couldn't help but chuckle at Edgar's expression. TAGGED // @edgar NOTES // Here you go. Sorry for the late reply!

Edgar was doing his best to avoid looking at the keyblade and to avoid thinking about the fact that she had practically performed magic. He needed to focus on the conversation they were having. He needed to learn everything he could about these other worlds and all the threats that they were facing. The last thing he wanted was to side with a known villain. So, he did his best to listen and learn. So, he needed to remember a being called Xehanort. "That sound about right for a villain....but what do you mean by 'variations'..." He questioned as he watched the young girl. Now his interest was peaked and he was able to push away the magic trick she'd pulled off.
She explained that he was fortunate not to have encountered the heartless before and that they could sit and talk. Edgar nodded a bit in agreement. "If you would be so kind to.... thank you. But, we just encountered them recently. It's the reason I ended up here, to be frank." The heartless had attacked his kingdom once and he'd accidentally ended up off world. It was quite frustrating. His mission was to locate his comrades and get them all back to their world and figure things out from there. He wouldn't let anyone lose their hearts.
The King visibly flinched again at Kairi dismissing the weapon without a blink of her eyes. It sent chills down his spine and he practically felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Was she an esper? He really hoped not. ".... it's not that funny."

"You'll know when you run into him," Kairi paused for a moment before adding on. "I hope you never will though. He's a man with no heart."
It was hard to explain to him, a man who was clearly not of the same world as her. Even the concept of Heartless, Nobodies and everything else that came with it was far too much for someone to absorb within a single day. Sora had accepted it willingly because he asked questions along the way and it wasn't as though they were all answered within one day. During the process, he had befriended Donald and Goofy; they eventually became his trusted companions.
For the man in front of her, Kairi could not say she knew his story but he did seem interested.
He mentioned that something was not funny but she did not understand what he was referring to. Yet, she opted not to ask for now. Right now, they needed to find a place for them to sit down and talk.
"Shall we?" Kairi gestured, ready to take the both of herself and him to wherever. TAGGED // @edgar NOTES // We can close this!

He would know who it was if he ran into him. That he was a man with no heart. Well, that was a hard one to judge. Usually the villains had no heart. He just didn't realize that Kairi meant literally. Edgar nodded slowly as he listened intently to the young girl. It was sweet that she was trying to fill in the blanks. It was hard for him not to step up and try to keep her safe. It was just his nature to want to keep the woman out of harms way. Especially someone so young. But, it wasn't his place. He'd worked along side of people younger than herself. It was just a fate that he needed to understand and accept.
The keyblade disappearing still bothered him. But, if he was to take Gilgamesh's words at face value, then maybe magic did work differently depending on the world that they were born from. He just needed to accept that and move on. Not everyone was an esper. That would be ridiculous. He bowed his head slightly in thanks as she spoke to him.
"We shall. After you." He gestured to allow her to take the lead. They had places to go and people to meet. [End Thread]
