The Hades CupThe stage is set at Olympus Colliseum. The setting is early morning as the two entrants enter the ring. To signal the begin of the fight, a barrier appears around the tiled arena floor, making the fighters incapable of moving outside of the ring. As a reminder: - You have 24 hours to post.
- If you fail to make a post in that time you will be skipped once per thread. Second offense will be disqualification.
- You are limited to three actions per post.

The roar of the multitude was deafening, even when he hadn't even entered the arena.
It was a testament to the bloodthirst that resided in the heart of common men and women, their most primal nature that could only be satisfied at someone's expense. Morne could hardly blame them though, he himself had partook of these vile pleasures, and even if he hadn't he understood how glamorous battle seemed in the eye of someone that had never fought themselves. To them, it was but a way towards glory, towards respect. Entertaninment, nothing more, nothing less.
But to Morne, these were phony things. The point of battle was survival, the continued privilege of breathing. Strength was worthless without something to strive enough, something to strive for with the life payed with someone else's blood.
But he did have such a pursuit, and if he wanted to see it through, he'd have to be the strongest and pay the highest blood price of them all. And so, this was but a step towards supremacy, a step towards changing the world.
He entered the stage without much ceremony, a single key-arrow in hand, ready to face anyone or anything. Driving it into the ground at the center of the stage, he kneeled to pray for the victory that would open his way to new heights. He wouldn't falter. Never.

Rina took a handful of deep breaths before walking out into the arena. She could hear the thundering of the crowd loud in her ears, and even reverberating around her ribcage. This tournament seemed to have brought out even more people than she had seen the first and last time she had been here. As if an automatic thought her hand went down and hovered above the side of her stomach where a thin scar was hidden by her clothes. A memento from last time. This time would be different. This time she would be victorious. This time she was stronger. She would show this crowd her strength.
As soon as she stepped onto the tiled fighting area and saw her opponent across the way, a force field appeared and sealed around the perimeter. This would assure that neither of them would be able to back out of the match if they felt so inclined. This is it. Time to fight.
As Rina edged closer to the enemy, she recognized him almost at once. She had met him sometime ago when she was in the employ of Maleficent. Even though that time and the events that happened were muddied in her brain because of the influence that the Darkness had had on her, she remembered his being with no difficulty. He was the Keyblade Wielder with no Keyblade.
“Morne…we meet again. Good luck..."
Rina wasted no time and summoned her silver daggers and charged the man, slashing at his arms and chest.

As soon as Rina's blade lashed at him, his own weapon came to life, intercepting it with ease, "Rina, I didn't expect you, of all people", he cut himself off as he sent an armored knee towards her stomach while still locked in the block, which if it connected, he'd follow up with a blow with his right arm to the back of her head while she still would be reeling from the first blow to send her straight to the floor.
"I don't want to hurt you. I really don't", he said, sounding sincere, "But I will, if I have to", he pointed his spear at her "So show me, what's more precious to you?, your life or strength?, Will you surrender or will you fight?".
Wether Rina had ended on the floor due to his attacks or had evaded them, Morne would leave her space so that she could get up and answer.

Oof! Morne’s knee knocked the wind out of Rina, but she was able to recover in time to block his strong arm from coming down on her. The force of the block, however, sent her reeling back and she lost her balance, landing on her backside. Morne was looming in the distance. “I don’t want to hurt you either. You know that.” A harsh look came across Rina’s face and also laced the tone of her voice. “But you’ve forced my hand, Morne! You know better than anyone that I won’t give up!”
While Rina was on arena floor she placed her palm against the ground, her eyes taking on a subtle glow. Sharp needles of Darkness erupted from the ground and chased their way over to Morne, aiming to impale him with the black and purple spikes! She then jumped up and placed her fingers against her lips summoning an orb of Light into her palm. She threw the orb towards Morne, watching it split into two golden discs as it approached its target. An attack from above and below. It was perfect.

As soon as she finished her reply, needles of foul dark emerged from the floor all around him, they twisted in midair, coming at him from every direction, but Rina wasn't finished, jumping up, she sent a profectile that turned into cutting discs of light!, But Morne barely reacted, simply bringing his hand towards his chest, his lips reciting olden words of power as he stared intently at his opponent. His icy blue eyes seemed to dissect her like a surgeon's.
Then, as if moving by itself his cape enveloped him, becoming a protective barrier of light on which the many projectiles crashed, cracking it. It held for a fraction of a second, then it exploded, sending shards of light all around the arena. The barrier around them lighted up as the shrapnel from the blast collided. Were not for it, many in the spectator seats would have been hurt. Some could have been killed.
"You are not the only one that can't give up", he said, still on the very same spot, "And if your path goes through me, you'll soon see the difference between us two", Slowly, he raised to the air, power coursing through his body as he prepared himself for his assault. Any moment now. "The very reason why you cannot escape your darkness, the reason why you ended up a pawn of Maleficent".

Rina groaned in frustration as Morne blocked both of her attacks with a shield of light. After absorbing the attack, the shield burst into crystalline shards. Rina had to move at a quick pace to dodge the shards until they had all fallen to the ground. A few had managed to nick her anyway, causing blood to well up across her cheek.
“Shut up! You know nothing! I’ve become so much better than I once was! I stand here in front of you a free woman, a pawn to no one! And you can’t take that away from me! No one can take that away from me! I’ll end you, Morne…don’t tempt me.” Rina’s anger seemed to be surging right underneath her skin, but she wasn’t going to confront Morne with hand to hand. Not yet. Distance would be her friend.
Rina raised her hand into the air. “Lightning Storm!” A large storm cloud appeared above Morne’s head and hundreds of small lightning bolts rained down upon him. Don’t tempt me…

"Yes, you keep struggling to stand on your own two feet", he replied, unaffected by Rina's lashing out, "And for that, I commend you".
From the dark clouds above him, lightning burst around him as she called forth her attack, trying to fry him alive. The stage lit up with blinding light and the ear-shattering crackle of thunder. When it faded, Morne was nowhere to be found.
Then, the clouds above parted, like the sun peeking from the clouds after it rained. But what came through them was an arrow of pure light instead, a magical stake coming for Rina at untold speeds. Even through the coverture hiding them from eachother's view, his power had found the way towards her with astounding precision.
From up above, Morne observed, his giant bow of light energy had manifested on his hands, clearly the weapon he had used to attack. "... But what do you stand for?, Just for yourself?, What would this victory mean to you?, Just an ego boost?", resuming his speech from before like nothing had happened "It isn't a matter wether I'm more powerful than you or not", he added, raising his bow above his head, its brightness growing and growing as it accumulated power, "No matter how strong you become, a heart without conviction will always be feeble. What you lack, Rina, is vision. That is why your efforts go to waste time and time again, because strength alone will never be enough to rid you of your demons".

RIna didn’t know what had hit her. Literally. An arrow of piercing light struck Rina square into her chest, knocking her right on her back. Rina laid there for a moment, struggling to recapture her breath. That wasn’t fair… She stood up on shaky legs, wrapping an arm around her aching middle. Rina was wheezing with every breath she took in. Something was broken.
“I’ll always find my way back on my feet, Morne.”, Rina said softly, her ribcage aching. In that moment pale green light washed over Rina, and she found herself breathing easier and feeling rejuvenated. She was back in this fight. This needs to end! “I’m doing this to prove to you, to myself, to everyone! To prove that I can do this! That I am no longer weak! I AM STRONG! I’m sorry, Morne. But I must win…”
Rina put her hands together in prayer, praying to whoever would listen to her. Help me win this battle. The girl pulled her hands apart, a large orb composed of both Light and Dark floating in the air between her palms. In one swift move she released the orb from her grip and summoned her daggers, throwing them straight into the sphere. There they were imbued with great magic, which caused them to soar towards Morne with inhuman momentum. She prayed her strike would meet her mark, giving her an upper hand.

Hoping to add insult to injury, Rina made a split decision to follow up with another attack. She raised her hand with her fingers splayed summoning her magic from deep within her soul. Small orbs of Dark and Light swirled lovingly around her body and through her hair, before hovering almost motionless in the air. They were waiting for a command. Rina dropped her hand quickly, slicing it through the air. “AUSTERITY EXPLOSION!”
At her words the orbs flew straight at Morne, engulfing him and imploding on contact. I will win this. I will be victorious over him and I will be victorious over my demons. I will win.

"But that's the thing", he sounded... melancholic?, a bit sad even?, "You never needed to prove anything to anyone to begin with". And with that, Rina prepared to launch her assault. The answer was clear, he just had to fly up and away and bombard her with his Dawn Seeker. Not only would retaliation be impossible, with how much damage Rina had taken throughout the battle such an attack would put her out of comission without fail. ... But instead of that, Morne descended to the ground, “... So be it. I accept your challenge”, as he spoke, another Arrow-Key appeared on his left hand, “I’ll show you the true power of a heart unchained”. And so, he charged forth.
The daggers were sent towards him, he managed to smack the one imbued away with his spear, but the dark one struck true, sinking into his clavicle. The warrior staggered, but pressed on, only to be met with a second assault of spheres of light and dark. His spears twirled in midair as he cleanly sliced them, but shortly after doing so, they exploded. For a moment, it seemed Morne had been stopped, only for him to shoot through the blasts in a trail of smoke, faster than ever before and this time, he had all of his eight spears in tow. Now having her within reach, his foot stomped on the floor as he came to a stop, cracking it under. Around him the Key Arrows had spread in regular intervals, all to facilitate the oncoming onslaught. Reaching for one of the spears, he sent a diagonal slash at Rina, only to let it go and grab another and deliver an horizontal one this time. After that, his arms turned into a blur as he repeated the process over and over, going from one spear to the next to send attack after attack in a relentless wave of cuts. Not even the dagger, firmly logged on his body, seemed to hamper his wild dance. In fact his movements were so precise that again and again they avoided hitting Rina’s vital points, going after her limbs and articulations, relatively shallow cuts targetting her tendons so to prevent her from moving. His own blood splattered Rina all over as his wounds gushed due to his own ferocity. But he wasn’t done, nimbly jumping back he resummoned his bow to deliver one last arrow shot, this time not as lethal as his Guiding Light, but a fearsome projectile nonetheless. Landing on the floor, he brought his hand towards the dagger wound. It did seem like it did hurt after all. Pulling it out with a yank, he threw it to the floor. More blood came out. "Rina, I respect you too much to keep holding back", he stood up "This match was never fair from the very start, and yet you fought it to the very best of your ability, trying to carve your way through to victory with each single strike. No matter how misguided you are, I owe it to you to fight at my earnest. Be ready". [HP=64/100] Faith: 6 Atk. Rina crumpled to the stone ground. First to her knees, and then she fell on her back. The stench of blood was heavy in the air surrounding Rina and all she could feel was the sharp stinging of her split open arms and legs. This was it. It was over. She was finished. Rina started to close her eyes in defeat, willing to concede her round to her opponent. She heard the dagger that had been lodged into Morne’s body clatter beside her. The she heard him speak. Rina could barely focus on his words, but he seemed to be declaring his respect for her. Promising to fight with all his might, just as she had been doing.
Maybe…maybe I have just a little still left in me. Rina reached into the depths of her tired soul trying to find some spark of Light to keep her going. She must have found it, because without even realizing she had casted magic, her body was seemingly healed. The multitudes of lacerations upon her healed up seamlessly and her body gained a surge of strength. Rina stood up shakily, shrugging off her tattered jacket and tossing it to the side. She glared at Morne. “I liked that jacket, Morne!” she yelled to him from across the field. With an aggravated yell she stamped her foot, sending her dark needles raging towards her enemy. She followed this up with sending out her dark clouds, hopefully able to strike the weakened Morne down with lightning. This isn’t over!
