Vani rubbed her eyes as she woke staring at a bright blue sky. The woman was rather confused seeing as she was sure it had been raining when she had been out walking to wherever it was she was going. Was it Cornelia? Honestly, she was not quite sure. This was seeming a little bit like a case of deja vu. She had woken up like this before with a crystal in hand in a field with her fellow warriors of light. So, Vani touched the ground beneath her, no crystal in hand as she sat up. Where was she? In the distance she could see a small stone bridge leading to a rather magnificent castle. Much more colorful than the ones she was used to seeing. Her and her comrades had traveled across the world and she did not remember seeing anything near that level of grandeur.
"Where am I?" she asked herself as she glanced around herself. There was no one laying beside her. She carefully moved to a sitting position before pushing herself to her feet, feeling a bit tired. Why did she feel like she had been canoeing up river all day? She was more than worn out and she had no idea how long she had been out for. It was after midday when she had started off toward Cornelia in the rain. Now, from what she could tell, it was mid morning and it was bright and sunny as if it had not rained.
The thief was on her feet and moving a bit to see if she could figure out where she was. The woman walked a bit to see if she could find anyone. However, there did not seem to be anyone around. Vani moved into the woods a bit to see if she could find a way over to that bridge. There had to be someone inside that castle that might have a clue where they were. What she was blissfully unaware of was that there was another castle extremely close that was much darker than this one. Vani was also not aware that she would be walking into a familiar friend shortly. It would make her trek that much easier with a friend at her side. She always felt at ease with one of them there. It didn't make sense, but she felt like she had known them all forever. "Hello? Is there anyone there?" She asked as she ducked out of the woods into a small clearing that led deeper into the forest or toward the castle depending on the direction she picked.

A chase had begun,
Dashing through the dense woods with blade and shield in hand the silver haired warrior forward darting past the tree as he attempted to catch up to his prey. He was a man who wielded the power of divine light that sought to eradicate the darkness and the prey before him was a being of pure darkness itself. It hadn’t been long since the knight had arrived in this new world, but even then he did not truly have enough time to really scour the land to get familiar with it just yet.
Ever since the defeat of Garland it seemed peace had finally come to the land, but for Zest his battle probably would never end. It had all started when the blackened creatures had appeared near the boarders of Cornelia. Beings of darkness with eyes that would glow a bright yellow, though they were small and weak, they were numerous and ruthless. They were being that sought to rip out the light of the innocent and with it Zest did his duty and slew the being of darkness. He needed to find the source of these beings, to prevent them from forming and with it he pursued them and dived into the portal of darkness they utilized to get away.
Though diving into the realm of darkness was foolhardy and rash, his light was strong and resolute that he was able to find himself in another world. Worlds different from his own, each land holding numerous differences, but share the same problem of those beings of darkness. The residence of those worlds called them Heartless and Zest took it upon him to seek out these beings and eradicate them while utilizing the portals of darkness when he could. Despite a good way to traverse the worlds, he knew he couldn’t rely on these portals and knew that his light wouldn’t be able to protect him all the time.
In this new world he roamed his battle had already started. A higher tiered Heartless known and the Invisible did battle with him, but the heartless could instinctively tell that it was outmatched. While the being could merely fade away into the darkness, instead it chose to flee.
Zest pursued the beast with great agility, but he pondered why such a beast would even choose to flee until finally he realized. A voice called out wondering if there was anybody was around and Zest realized that the heartless was after the newcomer. The heartless must have assumed that the newcomer was somebody that was an easy prey, but Zest would not allow it the chance. With blade in hand the beast lunged out of the thick woods and dashed towards the thief with its sword raised, but it came to a halt as a sword was thrown and pieced through the abdomen of the heartless. As the heartless dissipated the sword’s tip merely stuck into the ground before the girl.
“I’ve made it in time…” Zest said with a sigh as he walked forward to retrieve the sword. The sound of metallic steps echoed through the area and then it came to a halt as the sword begun to slowly rise from the ground the moment Zest walked out of the woods. With his palm opened the sword flew straight towards his hand as the warrior caught the blade and sheathed the blade. “Vani?” Zest suddenly said staring forward at just who had called out to him, his eyes widening a tad a bit surprised to see his dear friend here of all places.
Had he known that the person calling out was Vani then he really wouldn’t have rushed to slay the heartless. She was one of the three dear friends and one he could truly depend on. Had it not been for those three truly he would have merely been a mere empty warrior. His departure from these friends had been rather sudden, but Zest did not to expect to see any of them out in any of the other worlds. Though his face held the usual stoic he was quite happy to see his ally and friend. “I am glad to see you my friend, though what bring you here?” Zest said calmly.

Vani had moved toward the path, completely unaware of the impending danger approaching her. The place seemed so quiet and calm that she didn't feel that fiends were nearby. But, she was slightly mistaken. Especially seeing as this fiend was technically a heartless tasked with stealing her heart for the Darkness. The woman had quite literally stepped out of the woods to see a black blur coming at her. Instinctively, her hand moved to the slim sword at her side. She was more than ready to defend herself if it came to it. But, it seemed the movement was unnecessary as she she watched a blade slash through her enemy and hit the ground. The thief stood ready with her hand on the hilt of her blade as she watched and focused on her rescuer.
The familiar voice made it obvious if the armor didn't tell her who the man was before her. The thief lit up with a soft smile. "Zest. Thank you..." She stated his name in recognition. The man was one of her oldest friends, seeing as they all woke up in the same field with the same mission. She trusted the man as well as the other two warriors with her life. Though, it was quite odd that she run into the other warrior like this. It seemed that he was just as confused by the circumstance of their meeting.
"I am not sure at all. I was on the way to Cornelia midday and I woke up in the brush here and now..." She explained as she gave a glance up and down the path. She had absolutely no idea where she was or how she had gotten here. She vaguely remembered running into a few odd fiends on the trek, but she did not know the full reasons of her being where she was now. "Do you know where we are, Zest? This is not a forest I recognize." She asked curiously, watching the man's face closely for any clues to what he did and did not know.
Sadly, the woman had not been paying as much attention to the fiend as she should have. She had no idea that it wasn't a typical fiend that Zest had slayed. Instead, the normally quiet woman stood asking more questions than she normally was simply because she was comfortable around the other three warriors than she was around anyone else in the world. The woman also wanted to know if he knew the whereabouts of any of the other warrior. She had run into Rojo once or twice along the way, but not anyone else since defeating Garland. They had went their own ways a bit but they always seemed to meet back up like fate when it was necessary.

Perhaps they were bound by a fate that would always link them together. The 4 who held the title of Warrior of Light were close and they trusted each other’s back. If it wasn’t for their trust in each other they would have never beaten Chaos at all. For a warrior who had made it his duty to the binds of destiny and fate, this was a fate and bond that he desired to retain for as long as he could.
With sword still in hand Zest walked up to Vani getting closer to her as he listened to her words and merely closed his eyes. “I see, how strange…” Zest said as he opened his eyes once more and glanced over at the castle nearby. “I cannot say where exactly we are as I only just arrived myself, but I can confirm for a fact that we are in another world different from the one that we awoke in that faithful day…” Zest said calmly as he took a single step forward as he continued to look at the castle. “Ever since we all separated and went our own ways I’ve been tracking down these creatures of darkness seeking out the source to whatever has been calling them forth…” Zest said closing his eyes.
“Beings of the darkness of people’s heart, I’ve been to a few different worlds and in each one I have seen these beings. The people call them Heartless. Though they may be weak, they can be numerous at times and can be ruthless and merciless. They move purely on instinct and seek out the light to devour…” Zest said calmly before looking over his shoulder at the thief. “But so long as we keep the light deep within strong and true then there is nothing to fear at all…” Zest said calmly. Though his face was calm and stoic, it also held the force of dedication and resolve. Ever since he awoke that faithful day outside of Cornelia and even to this day he held the resolve of a true knight whose only duty was to uphold the peace and harmony of others. It was his resolve that allowed him to lead his dear friend to restore the light of the world, but at the same time he was nothing without each of his friends. Each one of them had their own talents and together they used those talents to protect each other and fight against foes.
With that said his gaze was turned back towards the castle once more as he stared over at it. “Come, it would be best we get a good understanding of this world…” Zest said

The thief would have to admit she felt the same way as warrior. They were bound by an invisible fellowship between the four. It was honestly a comfort to know that someone had her back if and when she needed it. Though, she had the ability to defend herself. It was just a nice comfort to have. The woman simply watched Zest as he worked up exactly how to respond to her. He was always like that. He liked to think his responses through fully before he blurted anything out. He was quite the opposite of Rojo. That man said anything and everything.
Though, when the man finally spoke it was obvious he was just as confused as she was. The confusion hit her face when he admitted they were no longer in the Kingdom of Cornelia. How was that possible? It was not like they had the crystals anymore or a way to transport themselves here. They had time travelled before, but they had never left their own world. Then again, who was to say that that world was their homeworld. It was very curious."How did we manage that." she asked rhetorically. Thief was always one to speak her mind. She just had trouble wrapping her head around everything.
The warrior then began to explain the shadow like creatures. "Light... that would explain why they were attracted to us." They were not called the Warriors of Light just for show. They had such minimal amounts of darkness, she was sure that they glowed bright to these dark creatures. It was a shame. Though, it felt better knowing that they seemed to feel no pain if they were that mindless and went on instinct. The thief was not a fan of killing things. But at times, it was necessary.
That's when Zest took the lead, explaining that they needed to get more information about the world and go from there. The thief nodded in agreement as she moved a bit to let Warrior lead the way. "To the castle, I take it?" She asked, even though she knew that answer.

Zest was a stern and firm man that walked forward in life with a certainty in what he believed in. He never let doubt cloud his mind and he never would allow himself to fall to deceptions of those who wished to take advantage of him. Sure perhaps he needed to lighten up, but fighting for the light was all he truly knew to do.
Though Zest could not recall his past, he didn’t need to remember to know he was made to fight. Could a warrior such as him ever truly know rest? When it came to such thoughts he could only think back to Garland and the cycle he made. A cycle of death and rebirth, an endless cycle he made as Chaos that they needed to surpass even time itself to break. Even after beating the blackened knight Zest had a feeling their fated bond of conflict was never truly broken just yet. He was to fight on and on and even now he felt maybe he would come across his foe again.
It was a simple nod of confirmation he gave the thief and with it he walked forward towards the castle, leading the way calmly, but in the end the warrior came to a halt and stood there with his back faced at her. “Our battle has come to an end, light has been returned to the crystal and the land of Cornelia has returned to its radiance…or rather…we have changed things so that such turmoil never even occurred…” Zest said as he suddenly looked upwards still holding his shield and sword in hand. “Our mission is complete…that which the four of us had set out for has come to a close…” Zest said as he closed his eyes, his face still facing upwards as a cool breeze blew by, making whatever hair stuck out from his helmet sway a tad.
“Vani…” Zest begun say as he turned his head and looked over his shoulder at her. “Now that it has come to an end what is it that you wish to do now? What is it that you seek?” Zest asked as he glanced forward once again but did not walk forward and remained where he was. In comparison to Rojo, Vani was much easier to converse with in matters such as this. Though they may have been companions, perhaps after the defeat of Chaos their paths had now split further away from each other.

✉ notes: Template change~ both were silent. there were ways for kicking and screaming. Vani stood and watched their former leader. Though, she supposed former was not a good word to use for him. He would always be their leader and nothing could ever change that. Yes, the entire group was rather independent, but they needed someone to keep the ranks together and uniform them. Zest was that person. They trusted each other without hesitation. They always knew that they had each other's back.
No matter the threat, they would always fight to make it through. Though, it was beginning to look like they were going to have a new mission to complete. Why else would they both be in this new world? It was completely plausible that they were meant to learn more about these heartless to be able to better protect their own world. Could it also be possible that they were meant to save the other worlds as well? She never knew. What did the fates have in store for them. Without the world in peril, she felt of less and less of use. There was only so many fiends she could defend a town again and only so many bandits she could stop. It seemed to small in comparison to saving the world.
That's when Zest spoke, asking the question she dreaded hearing. "...I do not know. I haven't truly done that much since we defeated Garland. I honestly haven't felt that much purpose recently. Guarding a caravan can only quell your boredom so much...." She explained as she move with the Warrior toward the vibrate blue castle. The moat was quite odd, how the bridge seemed to lead them toward the castle. At least it would be nore difficult to infiltrate with an army. They would have such a narrow path to follow. "Have you found what to do with your future?" Not having a past did make things more difficult for the future.

From her words it was clear that his comrade had no plans or objectives now that they had finished what they had originally set out to do. It was reasonable for her to not know as the four of them all shared one major thing in common. They had no recollection of their past…or even…did they even have past to recall? Zest could not recall a single thing, but it wasn’t to say he felt there was nothing. There was an urge, an urge telling him to recall what he had forgotten, but to merely remember was one of the most difficult things for Zest to ever try and do.
For the four who had no memories they only had the prophecy they were given as a means to move forward. They were considered heroes who brought the light back, but at that same time that recognition was gone the moment they changed the past. While the world was saved by their actions they were back to where they stared, mere nobodies that awoke in an empty field. Such things never mattered to Zest as all that mattered was the peace was restored. Though they had returned back to the beginning, there was one main thing that was different and that was they held something to remember. The ability to remember, he never wanted to forget what he had gone through and with all his being he never wished to forget his dear companions.
For them who had fulfilled their objective and had nothing before that it was reasonable for Vani to feel as such, but Zest was different. They of course held different personalities and when it came to Zest he was a lot more selfless. When asked what he planned for his future there was only one answer he could think of. “I will fight…” Zest said looking up at the sky.
“So long as there is discord and so long as I draw breath….I will fight until I am no more…” Zest said closing his eyes. “Fighting is all I know to do…it almost feels as if I was made to fight. To endlessly fight…perhaps that is my fate…” Zest said as he turned around to face her “but so long as I can protect the light then I shall accept such a fate…” Zest said resolute.

It was obvious that he was thinking and it was nice to see that fire. She had nothing to be excited about anymore and the way he spoke, it invoked the fire inside her a bit as well. Once again, she might have a true purpose. It was rather exciting as she thought about the prospects. The four of them would finally have a task. Honestly, ending up in this world was probably the best thing that could have happened. Now, she could fight for something again. It was much more productive than the drinking and odd jobs she had been picking up.
The thief felt a smile creep onto her face as she listened to the warrior that she practically idolized. It was nice to feel the rush, have a purpose again. It was exactly what they needed. Their world was in danger again with these heartless figures now present. They would need to rid the area of them. Then see about protecting the other world like this one. Perhaps it would take longer and give them a larger sense of purpose.
Her bright eyes meeting Zest as he faced her, his speech making her proud to be able to work with such a man. "And I shall be by your side till the end. Whether we succeed or fail trying. My blade is yours, my friend." The smile showing plainly on her face. Her dreary and blase expression had shifted to one of intent and sanguine. This was exactly what she had been searching for the last few years. Something to make her feel useful. To give her a true sense or purpose in the face of adversity. "We best make it to the castle. Make sure that the residents are safe with those creatures about. We also must find the others. Make sure they are aware of the current threat. Though, I am unsure if they are even still home."

Zest looked into the woman’s eyes and saw the smile that she had given him. Though brave and fearless Zest knew that being around his fellow warriors of light made him feel at ease. The feeling of having somebody by your who will stand by your side no matter what was to come was truly a comforting feeling and if anything it only just strengthened Zest’s resolve quite a deal.
Zest eyes closed and with it a rare smile formed upon the stoic and stern knight’s face. “I am relieved. With you by my side failure is impossible…” Zest said as he looked back at the castle and nodded. “I agree, I am sure our comrades must have left Corneria” Zest said but then narrowed his eyes as he noticed a trio of Invisibles floating towards the castle.
“Those heartless are rather high classed…Let us make haste” Zest said as he gripped the handle of his blade and immediately dashed forward. They needed to act fast otherwise the heartless would begin to swarm and if that happened then it would be much more difficult for them to deal with.
He dashed forward with full speed. Through the forest he quickly made his way to the bridge and narrowed his eyes as he came to a full stop the moment he made his way to the mid-section of the bridge. “Prepare yourself Vani!” Zest said as he prepped his sword. From ahead and behind them a mass of darkness began to form. From the darkness Shadow heartless began to rise from it and slowly turned their attention to the two Warriors of Light.
“We cut through!” Zest said as he raised his shield the moment a Shadow heartless jumped high into the sky and lunged at him. With his risen shield he bashed his shield against the heartless and with his blade he quickly cleaved the hearless in two, but that was not the end. There were still numerous heartless ready to attempt to rip out their hearts and feast.

United with her allies, they could never fail. They would conquer whatever threat was thrown at them. Zest always knew what to say. Always motivating the group. It felt so much better knowing that she could assist in the upcoming battles. She was afraid her swordplay and magic would go to waste soon. The woman kept the faint smile as she listened to the warrior speak before his agreement with her. The woman felt her eyes drift as he alerted her to the presence of high classed heartless. It was impressive that he could tell which were stronger and which were not.
The woman nodded, not giving a verbal response as she picked up from a stop into a full on sprint in seconds. Her hand slid to her waist where she kept her sword, Masamune. The woman rested her hand on the hilt as she dashed at the target. It was a bit of a distance away, but if Zest felt that worried about it to run, she would keep pace. As they approached, the swirl began and more of the shadows appeared. The woman had made it to the bridge with him as she used her right foot to slow her momentum and pull her blade/.
The thief had been seperated by a few heartless from Zest. But this did not stop of discourage her. She raised her arm to cast Tmpr on her comrade. This would boost his attack power to assist him in vanquishing their foe. She then cast Fast on herself to boost her speed and reaction time. It was like using a sword, you never truly forget how to use it. It felt nice having a true reason to use your magic again.
Vani then pulled her blade and slashed out at the two heartless in front of her, watching them fade as she attacked. She knew their friends would be retaliating momentarily, but she was ready. She would manage this.

Zest closed his eyes as he felt the power begin to build from the spell that was cast upon him from his comrade. His grip tightening upon the hilt of his blade he immediately opened his eyes and dashed forward, swinging the blade horizontally as he cleaved each heartless in half but as the few begun to perish more took its place and began to form. Was it their light that drew these heartless to them relentlessly? Zest could not say, but they were going to get nowhere if they just continue to fight the fodder heartless while the more powerful of heartless were just up ahead.
Swing after swing Zest begun to slice through each heartless but they just wouldn’t stop. Twisting his body and swinging his sword as he spun and sliced the heartless surrounding him, Zest leapt backwards and stood back to back behind Vani. “The battle will be endless if we continue the way we are now. There must be a leader of sorts resting in the castle. I will cleave us a path forward and you can take advantage of it!” Zest said narrowing his eyes. With his strength having been increased such a task would be best for him and with Vani having increased her speed she would be able to reach the castle much faster.
Zest prepared himself ready to go ahead, but sounds of screams begun to be heard from the castle up ahead. The heartless had finally begun to make their move inside the castle and Zest lowered his blade, the tip of the blade sticking into the ground “We must make haste!” Zest said as he swung the blade up. Pillars of light began to burst upwards from the ground, heading forward and blasting away the heartless before them. The path was clear, but this was only going to last for a moment. The real fight was to begin the moment they reached the castle.

The heartless seemed to replace the others like punching water. It was so frustrating to be completely honest. But, she kept to herself and continued to fight. The increased speed giving her a bit of an edge in the fight. She kept herself defended as she fought to keep a leg up in the fight, an eye on warrior. She wanted to make sure he didn't get overwhelmed. There were a lot of enemies.
Zest spun himself, destroying the heartless between them before announcing what needed to be done. The thief never questioned his plans. It was a waste of time to do so.
The plan was listed and the screams added the extra level of necessity to the haste. She watched him summons his pillars of light and she took off running in the cleared path he had managed to make for her. She had the advantage of speed for the moment. As she neared the end of the bridge, she was forced to handle a few heartless that began to pop up as she flipped over a heartless that had appeared directly in front of her before slashing and turning to face one of the larger heartless at the end of bridge. She knew that Zest would have her back.
The woman thought fast, quickly using some more magic to freeze up two of the large creatures to buy Zest some time to catch up. Her non-dominate hand rising as she cast two spells back to back, Slp2 and Hold. One putting the first larger heartless to sleep till attacked. The second ability freezing the other up to delay it's next attack. The woman then turned to the third and moved to swipe her blade to harm it, not looking behind her once. She knew Zest would be following suit momentarily.

Coated full in armor and in his hands was a heavy shield and blade, but even so Zest rushed and ran forward. Perhaps Zest was not one of the most agile of warriors, but he dared not to ever let himself hold back anybody. No matter the weight that rested upon him Zest rushed forward unhindered and determined. Though an armored knight, his speed quick and nimble as he followed behind the faster Vani with his shield raised and his blade held out to the side.
It was almost as if they were in tune with one another, almost anticipating each of their movements. For the two of them who had worked together to save the world it was no surprise that they knew how to work together. Vani leapt over some heartless and struck them and in return Zest dashed forward towards the heartless. As they were beings of instincts alone they merely sought to strike at Vani the moment she leapt over them, but Zest always had the back of his companions. His grip on his blade tightened and with a quick movement he reached the heartless and swung his sword horizontally. His blade cut through the heartless finishing them off, but merely finishing off the heartless before them was not their main task.
They had to get into the castle and deal with the main threat inside the castle. If they at the very least stepped inside the castle it would draw the attention of the heartless and away from any bystanders. Perhaps the heartless wanted them to come as they seemed rather dormant. In the castle hall a group of Invisible heartless had already appeared inside, but even then they just flew about in the hall as if waiting while causing all those inside the castle to panic in fear.
They were close to their destination, but Zest was going to open up a path further for Vani. Dashing forward and leaping up into the air Zest immediately released both his sword and shield as they both flew around him and formed 6 red blades in front of the warrior. “You will not bar us!” Zest yelled as he raised his hand and swung it downwards. Upon the command the 6 blades flew forward and impaled the heartless before Vani, giving her the chance to strike and move forward.
Moves Used: Radiant Sword The warrior of light releases his weapons and telepathically has them spin around him. By doing so 6 glowing swords will then appear in front of him. Upon the warrior’s command the sword and shield will spin around him once more and the 6 glowing swords will target the opponent and then shoot straight at them. (3 post cooldown)

He had not failed her yet and she doubted that he ever would. He was a strong and proud warrior, someone she was pleased to follow into battle. This battle would certainly be much easier had they their two spell casting comrades. Then the two offensive fighters could focus on the more cumbersome beings while Rojo and Alywn handled the smaller higer volume creatures.
The woman handled one of the heartless before she heard Zest behind her. He had handled the heartless that she had skipped over, almost literally. He then summoned a rather powerful ability, slashing down the other two large heartless that she'd put on hold. A faint smirk appearing on her face at the fact that Zest had cleared her yet another path. The woman knew before he had even spoken a word. She took off with her blade in hand to get into the building. The door opened with ease as she dashed in the walls.
It was a rather magnificent room. The floor was more vibrant than the normally plain stone and a red rug adorn the stairs to her right. The room was large, but that was expected of an entrance way. As she entered, the heartless did as they predicted. Their attention turned to Vani. Her haste wore off and she knew that Zest's boost in strength would be wearing off shortly if it hadn't already.
Vani did not have many area skills. So, she had to rely on her own agility and endurance. She cast Fire on the heartless that was closest to the inhabitants of the castle before moving to use her own blade to attack the few creatures closest to her. Once Zest took the rear, she could move to assist anyone that was present here.
