Lauriam was far from accepting his defeat.. or at least his heart felt that way. His nobody however was slowly succumbing to the darkness and the will of Xehanort's fragment and it showed by what his body was doing some times without Lauriam understanding why he would think that way. He struggled in the chains, but the sight of Roxas's new form had made him stop for a moment, irritation showing on his face. Of course the boy still looked like himself, but something about seeing this strange form made Lauriam.. hesitate. It seemed familiar, yet there was something very weird about it that made his head hurt. What also irritated him, was that Roxas knew his real name, even though he had not told him so... what.. was going on?
"You.. know my name?"
Roxas listened to his orders and the kind soul of this boy once again showed as he didn't question what he saw and just went for an attack on the chains to free Lauriam from his prison. It wouldn't be that easy though and the assassin knew that. The chains shook by the force of the energy that was released on them, a few of them cracking at some points. Of course, Lauriam immediately tugged at them in hopes of breaking some and wiggling himself out of this crushing grip. But as Roxas broke a few parts of the chains, the remaining few would grab Lauriam even stronger, the assassin screaming out in pain when he felt like his essence would slowly start to break under the grip. Roxas honorable attempt aside, this would not be enough to release him...
Xehanort's fragment was resisting and it was not taking the attack lightly either. However, seeing that some chains have broken gave Lauriam the hope of release and that was giving him new strength. Trying his best to ignore the pain, he wiggled again in the crushing grip, actually able to loosen his one hand enough to grab one of the broken chains and pull at it with force, the last part of it cracking and letting go of his body, so he could slip downwards and release himself, before the chains would grab him again. Of course the landing was not very comfortable, but the assassin could easily shrug it off.
The chains seemed very furious by the escape of their hostage and slashed around wildly. Lauriam was no longer in the hurting grip of the darkness for now, but it was still rampaging inside of his heart, slamming down on the plate him and Roxas were on right now. Lauriam didn't have time to lay there and recover. He needed to get away from those chains as fast as possible, before they grabbed him again. Pulling himself up, he stumbled in Roxas direction. Lauriam didn't possess a keyblade and he didn't know if his weapon would actually be able to do anything to defend himself from the darkness... the darkness that was shooting out to get him again. "I won't let you devour me!"
Thanks to Roxas, Lauriam was able to free himself for now

Unable to answer the question before all hell broke loose, Roxas winced at the nerve grating scrape of the chain links on the weathered glass of Marluxia’s soul. The sound was like a rapid wolf throwing itself against the splintering door of a cottage, claws and frothing jaws scrabbling for any hint of purchase. The instinct proved unpleasantly appropriate when the ebon metal demonstrated itself to be fully animate, soaring towards the retreating Marluxia with serpentine malevolence.
Sprinting to meet Marluxia halfway, Roxas stepped around and behind his former comrade, briefly putting them back-to-back. “Get down,” Roxas directed with curt insistence essential to surviving battle’s ever-evolving fray. The young warrior shifted his footwork to keep himself between the approaching chains and Marluxia, tensing into a stance that held blades and limbs taut with the expectation of explosive motion. Waiting until slithering shackles were nearly upon them, Roxas lunged forward into their path.
Oathkeeper followed Oblivion in sweeping spirals of light and darkness. The blades left streaks of night and day in their wake like streamers of silk until boy and bonds were obscured in a momentary eclipse of mydriatic motion. Springing way in hope of escaping retaliatory constriction, Roxas back-pedaled cautiously to his companion on this island of metaphysical marooning, weapons held up in a guarded retreat.
Okay, this definitely wasn't working. Not good.
“Laur- Marluxia,” Roxas amended between heavy breaths, keeping in position of cover for the other man and his eyes glued to the chain’s undulations. “Know how we put this thing down?”

Lauriam knew that he wouldn't have time to ask questions as long as the darkness was after him. Seeing that Roxas rushed past him to protect him from the chains, the assassin couldn't help but look surprised, only to follow his words as soon as possible and throw himself on the ground to not be hit by the attack Roxas used on the chains to send them back from him and the target. The chains were hit with energy mixed with light and darkness, the objects seeming to not have seen an attack coming, only now realizing that someone else was in Lauriam's heart for real. They almost hissed, moving around aimlessly as they seemed to try and reorganize. The scythe-master would use the time to get back up slowly, seeming just as exhausted as Roxas was after the attack... no, far more. He was completely fatigue. Of course, after struggling in the darkness for so long. This was a moment off him regaining some control, but it wouldn't last if they didn't destroy the spawn.. the fragment. He turned to Roxas, his head however focused on the darkness that had taken the air into it's possession. “The.. Fragment.. When we destroy it-”Yes, destroy it.. but how? Could the keyblade of the boy's nobody be enough to cut through the darkness and free him? He was... doubting his plan all of the sudden? No, that wasn't him talking. It was the fragment, trying to steal his hope from him. He may be free of the chains, but the influence on his heart was still there, messing around with his mind. Moving his hand to the side, his weapon would appear in his hand, through it seemed to protest a moment before it formed completely, like it didn't know what shape to take. “You.. have given me an opportunity.. and I won't waste it. I will keep the chains busy.. and you will try to use your keyblade and destroy the fragment. Once it is gone, the fight is over.”His grip on the scythe seemed to become stronger, a smirk spreading on his face. “I won't give up till the last bit of my consciousness has been eaten...and I won't let it come to this.”Though the sound of breaking would suddenly be over drowned by a shriek escaping the orb, something seeming to free itself of the darkness, two yellow eyes staring down at them. It was the fragment.. it had taken it's real shape, the chains still there however, seeming to organize themselves now. The creature seemed very strong, an X across it's face and hole in it's chest. Was.. that Xehanort's darkness taking shape? “I.. I didn't expect this...”, he would murmur now, his eyes moving back to Roxas for a moment. It was still kind of a two versus one situation so they should have the upper hand. The strange creature without legs however seemed very calm.. almost to calm, like it wasn't facing a threat. Lauriam wasn't one to jump into a battle blindly.. but feeling his heart under his feet crunch with every step made him uncomfortable, just like the stare this thing was giving him.. it was like a hungry wolf that had cornered it's prey and was ready to eat it alive. The chains had retreated for now to give the creature an open field. “So, this is his darkness. We will just have to crush it!”With that said, the assassin would move his hand to the side, a few of his omni-lasers appearing and shooting out in the direction of the creature. It almost seemed to grin as it suddenly moved through the air in fast motion, avoiding the lasers with ease and coming their way fast. “What?!” The chains are hit and lose focus

Roxas nodded in understanding as Marluxia stated their game plan. With a roll of the wrists, he sent his blades spinning in quickening equidistant circles. The motion might have seemed celebratory, a parade flourish, had not the blurs of light and shadow soon telekinetically reached the speed of industrial buzz saws. Roxas glanced up at the shard hanging like some sickly stalactite above, quickly taking note of angles.
Then a familiar perforated phantom congealed with a banshee’s wail.
Blue eyes flicked to the writhing tumorous mass streaking down them with deadly velocity. Marluxia had stated the former to be their objective, that’d he keep their obstacles busy while Roxas engaged the source. It made sense, Keyblades tended to be the only things that could sever darkness for good. Roxas’ rational mind acknowledged the reasoning to be sound.
But that didn’t keep every nerve in his body from screaming, a cacophony of insistent dichotomous instincts. The memory of that crushing grip around his throat, bravado of victory spiraling own into stultifying panic, and thrice familiar gold eyes cold observing his increasingly frantic struggles against the onset of breathless numbness set Roxas’ senses to a fever pitch. Caught in the collision between analytic aims and primal flight or fight response, the keyblader’s training failed to bridge to the fatal gap of hesitation. All the muscle memory in the world couldn’t overcome division of purpose.
When Marluxia’s fusillade of florid fulmination proved no more threatening to the onrushing Darkness then arrows without fletching, Roxas lost faith to the grip of panic. Greater purpose forgotten, he released the gathered force without stopping to take account of the new angles in respect to motion. Oblivion and Oathkeeper whirled outward in mirrored arcs, the sibling sibilation of their passage through the air like the wind’s keening pilgrimage through lonely canyons.
Roxas would never see if his raids found purchase however. A second’s hesitation proved far too long for merciless momentum. The Guardian moved with the suddenness of a black stain falling on pale cloth, stygian smoke hitting with solidity of stone. The boy was lifted from his feet by sheer blunt force. His inner ear rang with the neurological blare of concussion. His vision swam as all the colors blurred into amber around black pupils.

This creature was strong. Not only did it not care about the lasers, but Roxas's attack was also proving to be of no use... not only because the boy had completely lost focus when he saw that thing coming his way with brutal force. It hit him, knocking him back with a strong hit. Lauriam cursed in his mind, moving behind the boy and taking a firm stance to catch him and not be taken by the force as well. He couldn't let the boy fall of the platform. “Focus. I taught you better.”, he mocked, before letting go of the kid again and taking position slightly in front of him.
His eyes scanned the area once more, trying to find anything that could give them some advantage against the creature. The creature could glide, so knocking IT off the the grounds proves to be impossible. Gritting his teeth, Lauriam entered his battle stance, his eyes narrowed dangerously at the creature that had flown back, levitating over the ground and roaring in anger. Lauriam dashed forward now, going for a direct attack as time seemed to lose grip of his body for a moment, his features moving faster than the eye can see. He appeared in front of the creature and went for a strike, the monster blocking with his arm, however Lauriam disappeared again in a flash of petals and reformed behind the monster now, sending a hit over it's back. Roaring, it turned and tried to slash him away, but Lauriam was gone once more, now above the creature and hitting with the scythe in hopes of sending it down. It seemed to work, the creature falling down by the force of the attack, but it sank into the platform instead of hitting it with force. Lauriam landed on the ground again, but his eyes scanned the area almost in panic as he was not able to locate the creature anymore. It was there.. waiting somewhere to reemerge and attack him.
He was right, the monster reforming behind him in hopes of smashing at him, the assassin turning in time thankfully for his weapon to move up in hopes of blocking the attack. The heartless was not stupid.. it opened it's hand and turned the punch into more of a grab, targeting the staff of Lauriam's weapon. He got hold off it and pulled Lauriam in his direction, the man trying to let go of the weapon, but the punch to his stomach was faster than his senses could keep up. The big fist collided with his body, the force behind the punch sending some air out of the others mouth and some saliva as well. He was knocked back, hitting the ground and rolling over it slightly before he finally came to a standstill, his weapon having fallen to the ground in front of the creature.
The owner of the castle was on the ground, unable to get up from the waves of pain and nausea that made his stomach contract over and over again. How.. could it be so strong...? Were their attempts of destroying it completely useless? If so.. he had done a terrible mistake of bringing Roxas here. Would the boy be defeated by the darkness in the fragment, than it would maybe ump over to him and eat his heart as well. He couldn't play a keyblade into Xehanort's hands.

Roxas tried to get the ringing out of his ears and prepared to move into a flanking position to buttress Marluxia’s assault. That at least, was before the charge became a rout almost from the outset.
Just like that, Marluxia was on the ground and empty eyes lifted to Roxas. Suddenly he felt like he was choking again. Breaths came out short on the heels of recollected despair. Thoughts reeled in the throes of remembering a precipitous fall from self-actualization back to lobotomized prisoner in one terrible moment of strangulation.
No…not again…please
The caliginous mass drifted forward, tenebrous hollows flexing and shifting like gaping negative space could somehow still provide a heartbeat.
“Give me strength…”
Another prayer from Nobody to no one, the forlorn piety of the lost.
Yet ascendant twilight answered in a whirling haze. The surrounding sea of void succumbed to a luminous auric cloudscape, stretching out and far beyond like a veil briefly pulled back to reveal Zion’s celestial vistas. Towering cumulus clouds were burning pillars of gauzy eventide. Further up at the edge of sight, like the silken hangings of top the colonnade’s of an Olympian temple, noctiluscent clouds formed the rafters of this rapturous magic hour.
The Guardian paused in it’s previously implacable advance. Now simply another muted shadow of tranquil evening, its head turned, shifting with a train of tendrils, impassively observing paradise’s trespass on the abyss’ claim
Incandesce ignited in the blinding brilliance, it’s impact a slit-second of concussive force and solaric fury. Roxas was briefly the center of a hundred flaring fractals, light rays and sundered chains splitting outward in a wave of shinning shrapnel. Oblivion and Oathkeeper swung outward in burning half-crescents, seraphic wings cresting aloft in flaming flight. Down then out, then back again, serrated sacred arcs tore into dark non-flesh. A scream like the splitting of chthonic bedrock signaled a horrific yielding as clashing became cleaving, and slashes becoming vivisection. Even as umbral fabric began to dissolve, Roxas didn’t relent, madly mutilating the memory of suffocation with holy fire.
Only when there was literally nothing left did the boy seemed to snap back to the present, wide-eyed and panting through gritted teeth. Sunset played games of shadow across the shallows of his eye sockets beneath sweat-dampened hair, their momentarily cavernous depths not at all fitting for an avenging angel.
It seemed to pass, and the young warrior grinned broad and brightly, victory and adrenaline coursing through his small frame like heady wine. He turned and strode with a self-satisfied smirk to where Marluxia lay, blue eyes alight with jocular amusement at fate’s sweet turnabout. A roll of the wrist and mental whisper of thanks ushered Oblivion and Oathkeeper back within himself. Roxas offered a helping hand without further jest however, savior spirit trumping tit-for-tat. The surrounding evening evocation silhouetted Roxas’ in a fulgent corona of amber rays, wreathing his semblance like a golden victor’s laurel.
“It’s over,” the haloed youth assured as he sought to assist the assassin to his feet. Roxas glanced at the ebon chains lying inert like severed hydra heads across the corroded glass, nightmare receding before dawn’s inevitable release. “C’mon let’s wake up.”
He knelt to fetch his companion’s dropped weapon. Graceful Dahlia’s deadly roseate curves and tapered emerald shaft easily dwarfed the slight boy. Blond brows rose at the unexpected coexistence of lightness and heft. Yet, they furrowed soon after as he offered the scythe back. Roxas frowned at the nagging feeling, a faint tremor of something stirring deep and unseen.
“Marluxia…” The dandelion’s echo lifted his gaze to possession’s ex-prisoner, soft features troubled. “Y’ever wonder if…” A choking gasp and arching spasm of the spine abruptly cut short the query. Roxas’ eyes widened, agonized azure dulling like sunset over the darkening sea.
Narrowed golden orbs emerged from the only shadow the lightbringer’s magic hadn’t banished, his own.
Graceful Dahlia tumbled from slackened fingers; it’s keen crystalline edge refracting the last dying rays of the boy’s shattered spell. Magic Hour’s conjured crepuscular light winked out as its spiritual wellspring ran suddenly dry. All encompassing night returned again to the dungeon monolith, silently scorning quixotic hubris.
Sanguine stains blossomed from the Roxas’ lips and spread with deathly quickness through the fabric of his shirt, first scarlet, then curdling to black.
@leonard 1) Roxas used Magic Hour 2) Roxas dealt two Critical Holy Damage strikes with Comet Charge (enhanced by Magic Hour) 3) Guardian possesses Roxas' shadow in order to feign destruction 4) Guardian delivers an impaling backstab.

Lauriam could taste not only his own blood in his mouth, but also defeat. How could they win against such force? His body tried to struggle itself up again, his eyes moving to look at Roxas to see if he was back on his feet again. If not.. he would need to get him out of this place as fast as possible, before the Guardian would be back on them, smashing them to paste. He didn't expect for the boy to find new power, a blinding light taking over the darkness in his heart, Lauriam forced to squeeze his eyes shut in protest to the blinding shimmer. When he opened them again, he saw Roxas gliding through the air, the surroundings shimmering in colors filled by light, his movements fast and forceful as he smashed at the Guardian again and again, the creature unable to defend itself how it seemed, slowly devolving in the immense force of the attacks. Lauriam.. was speechless by the display the kid made him witness today. He had not known Roxas had become so powerful and knowing it was his training that had set the start would have almost put a tired smile on his face.
Had this kid actually been able to destroy the fragment..? Incredible... The kid walked over to him, a victories smile on his face as he outstretched his hand to aid Lauriam back up on his feet. Though he did fill a stab into his pride, he would growl slightly before taking the hand to pull himself back up on his feet, his hand letting go immediately when he had a firm stand, his hand moving to his still aching stomach. The kid also retrieved his weapon for him, handing it to the assassin. It took him a moment, before he would sigh in defeat and take what was his back into his hand.
“Well... you certainly did surprise me today, boy.”, he would murmur a little in protest, before he shook his head to focus back on the matter at hand. They needed to get out of here, now that the darkness was shattered.. but something.. something felt off all of the sudden. He looked into Roxas's eyes, seeing that strange expression on his face and hearing those words. What was the kid trying to tell him...? But it was in that moment that Lauriam could sense the darkness again... right behind the child! His eyes widened in horror when he understood what the creature had done, any kind of warning coming to late as he heard the sound of something tearing through skin and flesh, the shadow of the Guardian towering over Roxas, his claw having dug deep into the child's back. No... This image and the deafening shriek he could hear in his own ears made Lauriam do something he had not expected to be capable off... He didn't know what it was, but his body started moving on it's own, his mouth screaming something his mind couldn't really understand.
“VENTUS!”
Who? Ventus? This was Roxas, not..
Whatever the case, his body moved on it's own now without him really able to change the course. His scream had called the power within him, a creature suddenly emerging behind the Guardian, it's four wings spreading out with a shriek as it grasped the Guardian and pulled it back, throwing it away from Roxas and Lauriam, before it took a firm stance in front of them like their own Guardian. Lauriam had grabbed Roxas before he could fall, now that the sharp claw was no longer holding him up. Blood dripped on his clothes and hand's, but Lauriam didn't seem to mind right now, his eyes staring at Roxas before they turned upwards, seeing how the Specter was holding the Guardian back with the strength it could muster. Lauriam had done a mistake... had he really thought that this would be enough to shatter the darkness that had been planted in his heart? The chains had come back to live now, grabbing unto the Specter, trying to chain it down, but it struggled, pulling at them, flapping it's wings like a bird that tried to fly away into freedom.
He was running out of time... Roxas needed to get out of here, before he would take permanent damage from this attack and his own heart could become infected. Blue orbs looked down at the boy in his arms again, his head shaking slightly at the sight of the broken kid in his grip. “I.. should have known better..”, he suddenly started to speak with his usual soft voice, the chaos that was happening somewhere in front of him seeming to have blurred out for him. “Maybe Xehanort had planned this all along. But I won't send a keyblade into his hands. Your purpose as my key to cut through the chains.. has vanished. You are not strong enough for this task.”
Pulling himself up to his feet again, he would hold Roxas firm in his grip, his free arm moving out to target the specter, seeming to send a command to him. The creatures eyes flashed, it's body seeming to find new strength as it was able to pull itself out of the grip of the Guardian and the chains, it's wings flapping as it turned around to grab Roxas and flew off into the air. Lauriam watched as the creature would fly high up into the darkness, the chains trying to follow it to keep the new prisoner here with him. Lauriam narrowed his eyes, his hand moving up into the sky, cherry blossoms once again spawning to shot after the chains, hitting them away from the Specter, so the creature could send Roxas out of the abyss, before it was to late. The Guardian had in the meantime approached Lauriam and it's body cast a shadow over that of the assassin.
The assassin still didn't understand how Sora and Roxas could have such power... but after having been slain by Sora, he had seen something. Friendship was more powerful than he had expected and even though he didn't know what it meant to have friends, he knew that this power could be strong enough to even stop Xehanort. The man that was left in the darkness only chuckled slightly as he watched his creature bring Roxas to safety.
“May... your heart be your guiding key.”
And with those words spoken, the Guardian would raise it's claw and slash at him.
In the meantime, the Specter had brought Roxas almost back to the surface, the light touching the kid and slowly taking hold of him as the creature got closer and closer to the exit. However, the chains had caught up now, taking hold of the creatures body, the beast once again shrieking... but it was able to perform the last order. It let go of Roxas, the light grabbing him and pulling him out of the darkness, the Specter however being dragged down into the abyss and vanishing from Roxas's sight, before the light would guide him back to his own heart.
No one knew how much time had passed in reality in the meantime. It was still night, the moon shinning on the garden they had been in once before. Marluxia's body was on the ground, a light still glowing on his chest, but as soon as Roxas's consciousness returned to the kid's body, the light would fade, darkness now sprouting and crawling over his body, his hands starting to dig into the ground he was on slightly, before his features seemed to slowly move again, his arm trying to push him upwards. He was gritting his teeth under the curtain of his blossom-colored hair, his body pulsating from the Fragment that seemed to have gained more strength after their failed attempt to free him. His plan has backfired... At least the kid was not eaten by it, but it was a small solace for what was now happening inside of him. It was trying to squish him and take control over his mind and body with much more violence and defending himself proves to be.. exhausting. He needed a moment. Just one Moment to gather himself and teleport away from this world and the child. There was nothing left here for him.

I…should have known better…” Roxas shuddered in strong arms, breaths coming out as nothing more then wracked convulsions that brought up ever more viscus black blood. He tainted life leeched out onto ebon leather, leaving only cold in its wake. Every spasm brought shooting pains centered around a raw spreading ache, but he just couldn’t stop shaking. As the Roxas felt weightless, faint, ebbing, something…no someone.. else gained purchase on him bit by bit, ravenous and terribly familiar. "Let the dark impulses waken in the pit of your heart. Release them, here and now! Sharpen your fear into rage. You must!"
“Please don’t do this, Master!” Roxas pleaded, desperately holding his ground against the looming shadows rising up from the barren battlefield. “I’m not strong enough!”
“Maybe Xehanort planned this all along…” Roxas felt himself be lifted into another’s arms, pallid and gentle. There was the clamor of cresting chains. Air washed across his face, as if stirred by the beats of great wings.
"Really? You would rather die then use this power?"
"I'm going to set Kingdom Hearts free!” Defiance echoed eerily among the empty skyscrapers. “Then everything can go back to the way it was!"
“You are not strong enough for this task.” A dark angel bore Roxas heavenward, racing against the damning corruption slithering though his veins and mind. A voice told him to struggle, accept Completion! He could be whole without Sora, chosen and exalted for his own sake! Roxas began to tear savagely at those pale hands, stygian ichor steaming down his chest and limbs, eyes flickering madly between panicked azure and golden malice. Roxas snarled for the angel to put him down, yet her arms were as unyielding as death itself.
"Roxas... Now, there was a worthy candidate. But, unfortunately, he became too aware of himself…"
“May... your heart be your guiding key.” An bloodstained hand reached helplessly downward to where Marluxia was thrust back down into his thralldom.
“Fight?” Roxas asked of the Light engulfing him with an incredulous smile, amber eyes blinking blearily. “Why would I want to do that?”
“Sorry for keeping everyone waiting…”
“My name is Ventus!” Roxas sprang to his feet, holding out a hand to the last Union Leader with a grin. “You can call me Ven though!”
“Pleased to meet you..” oceanic eyes widened briefly behind rose-colored bangs before a soft smile came to full pale lips. “My name is Laurium…”
---------------------------------------
The darkened gardens and starry night swam back into focus as Roxas’ eyes flared open. His chest heaved as if trying to claim breathes from under a crushing weight. Sweat soaked every inch of skin, staining through the rough fabric of his clothes. It was few minutes until Roxas realized he wasn’t alone.
"Laur-Marluxia wait!"
Roxas tried to shake the dull delirium of fever dreams from his head, but contextless images and damp bangs both clung to his aching head like spiderwebs. Eyes, wide and pained but pure blue, looked over Marluxia’s wracked state. Guilt’s edge sank in deep, twisting with every agonized contortion of his former comrade’s features. “I screwed up,” the admission made the constriction around his torso all the more painful. “I’m… I’m sorry.” For some reason it didn’t feel like he’d not been able to get just some slash-happy murder free.
It felt like he’d failed a friend.
“Thanks,” the word came out hoarse as Roxas dragged a knee put to his chest, trying to make the world stop spinning. “Thanks for keeping me from Him”

The twisting features on Marluxia's face only seemed to become less obvious once he heard a familiar voice reach his ears. His orbs moved up, looking through the curtain of his hair to gaze at the young boy that slowly came back to his senses. It took him a moment to return to reality, his body covered with cold sweat, kind of like his own from the battle in his heart they had fought together.. and lost. The kid started to apologize and thanking him for saving his heart from corruption. Marluxia didn't really respond for a moment, just staring at the kid. His orbs were clouded by something dark, his mouth twisting downwards, the corner of his mouth twitching. His thanks and apology won't bring back what he had lost. Going for the kid in hopes of freeing himself was a stupid mistake he had done. Had he really thought that this boy could have the skill to free him? He was part of Sora once, but he was lacking something the other might could have pulled off...
His heart had tasted freedom, only to be put in a cage once more, this time with stronger bars and harder chains that contracted his body again and again, stronger and stronger. The Darkness on him that wasn't his own engulfed his body, trying to cover his consciousness in hope of now being able to take him, but he fought back. It was.. so draining all of the sudden to keep the urge of listening to it at bay. “Your words.. won't change the fact I am still a prisoner.”, he would speak with a dangerously calm voice despite all that was happening to his body right now. He slowly got back to his feet, balling his fists as he seemed to build up concentration, the aura on him seeming to slowly fall back due to the strength left in him to put it back in it's place and close the door to keep it shut for as long as possible. “You may be a part of Sora, but you are lacking the strength he has to certain extend.. the strength that was needed to destroy the fragment. You are of no use to me...”
His eyes would glare at the others ocean-blue ones, the slight narrow on his own very visible and sending of a dangerous vibe. “You are a fool to think I saved you because of something as a... link we share. Would the fragment have taken over you, than you would share my fate and I would have played a new pawn in Xehanort's hands. I won't give him that satisfaction.”
One could hear the hatred in his voice as he spat out the name. All nobodies shared one thing with each other.. the memory of what hatred felt like and he did a good job of showing that memory right now, so that it almost felt like it was a real emotion he could share.
Marluxia panted, moving his hand to the side for a portal to open up behind him. Finally. Something told him that their meeting today was not a mere coincidence, however. What he had seen and heard inside of his heart made him think... Who was Ventus and how did the boy know his real name without him ever telling. It felt like they shared a connection that he and the kid couldn't put their hands on. Also the words he had spoken... May your heart be your guiding key... he had almost sensed something in his hand there that wasn't his scythe. It was more like.. the handle of a...
His attempt to understand the things that happened inside his soul was suddenly shaking him, a pain shooting up his head like a bolt of lightning, his body almost breaking down again had he not caught himself in time. Why couldn't he...? With a shake of his head, he would get up again more carefully this time. “Stay away.. from the Seekers. Stay away from Xehanort. This is not your fight, Number XIII and you better not make it yours, unless you want to fade into the darkness.” With those words said, he would finally let himself limp into the portal, the gate closing up behind him immediately. He needed some rest.. and than continue his search for a cure. This setback won't stop him.
When Marluxia was gone, a few petals would be caught by the wind and glide past Roxas.. with something that didn't seem to belong her almost. It was a Dandelion. It moved through the air, dancing past Roxas's eyes before falling in front of his feet.
Marluxia left the thread.

Soft strands of white splayed annularly from a stalk tipped with a tiny nub, a chance for life trusted to the whims of the wind.
It was a tiny sight, one of nature’s wonders rendered mundane through unmindful bustle. Roiling as he was with rage, shame, and keeping back the wild violent impulse that becomes so tempting when collapse nears but the mind can’t find rest, Roxas had half a dozen minds to crush or flick the seed away. Yet, an impulse beyond his own lifetime kept it in his palm, eyes continually tracing its simple elegance.
Marluxia’s words kept rattling around in his head, breaking down the door whenever Roxas tried to shut them out. He wasn’t enough. Sora had what it took, the strength to save, a place in this fight. Roxas had always treasured the secret notion that he was stronger then his Other when push came to shove. Sora was laden with virtues Roxas lacked, more personable, gentler, calmer, and of freakin course: real. But Roxas lusted for the fight in a way Sora just...didn’t, embraced it like he doubted Sora was capable of. Yeah maybe was a grim consolation, but it was his.
To be have plainly shown it wasn’t true, even more plainly then in his last battle with Sora…
His friends were dead, he was weak, and this fight was even his.
Roxas sat on the shrine steps, elbows propped on his knees, exhausted by a battle that’d been beyond the physical. Defeat dropped down into his throat and refused to leave, making its sagittal presence known with every swallow. The Whys kept rolling in. Why was he so much weaker then before? Why even exist apart from Sora then? Why was he so afraid to go back?
Holding this seed, why’d the failure seem deeper still, like he’d been charged with something precious but left it rot?
Silent hours passed in the garden’s redolent darkness. The shrine’s brazier went cold, and sacred incense ceased, but no answer came.
