Tournament Reviews This template is to be used for all Tournament reviews. It is the same form that staff uses. Please copy and paste the code from the bottom into the appropriate match review thread that has been created by the staff. Please do not create your own thread. You cannot review a thread that your character participated in. For every knowledgeable and well written review, you will gain 20 munny to the character account you post the review with. You may only post one review per thread. Please be sure that your review is detailed and informed. Site Rules still apply to raid reviews, so be polite and respectful. Everything a member posts is to be read as constructive criticism and is not to be taken as an attack. Any issues should be reported directly to a staff member. Damage Inflicted and Taken: What powers were used and what damage taken should be reviewed here, as well as the effects of any powers used. Basically, which side dealt more and which side took more damage.
Key Points:- Overall damage inflicted
- Strategic use of items
- Overall combative dominance
Questions to Ask Yourself:How much damage would that skill have inflicted on the target? Would a skill be super effective against the character, such as using a potion against someone inflicted with zombie. Who caused the most damage? Which side would have probably won the fight. Skill and Style: This isn't for it being well written, but the creative style and effect of their strategy and if it also had a imaginative visual.
Key Points:- In-Character Combat Style
- Skills used wisely
- Use of weaknesses and strength
Questions to Ask Yourself: Did the member stick to their character's fighting style? Did they set them up in a way that would have been hard to defend against? Did that character use their unique/individual fighting style, or 'X-factor' to their best advantage? Did they use their known written powers in such a way that they normally wouldn't use them? Did someone feel out-of-character? Who controlled the battle? Who was more dominant with how the flow of battle went against the other? Did a character seem to be reacting to attacks more than being the one to inflict them? Did one player keep the other on their toes more than the other? Did one character seemed more defensive, calm and collected than the other? Did one person execute an ingenious strategy to win? Did one character identify the other's weaknesses or use their opponent's strength against them? Did a character start at a loss, only to turn it around and gain the flow and control of the battle in their favor? Did a character seem to just use attacks and throw them at the opponent, or used them in a way that was hard for the opponent to fight/defend/counter against? Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: How well did the member write and describe their actions and surroundings. This also includes if a character did not explain themselves or were not justified in their movements or dodging.
Key Points:- Stayed In-Character
- Easy to Understand
- Overall fairness
Questions to ask yourself: Did they justify certain movements and their character's fight style? Whether their post was short or long, where they able to explain their actions to the reader and get their point across? Did you question any actions or abilities a character did make? How well did you understand their writing? Did they dodge an attack that should have otherwise harmed them? Did they ignore or shrugged off attacks or write that the attacks had no effect on them? Did they seem to know something about their opponent that otherwise their character wouldn't know? Did a character do something you felt was not fair or use a power not listed/misuse a power listed on their application? Who had the best sportsmanship, and was fair to the other team in taking damage? Did someone take a hit that they probably could have dodged? Did a team take hits that they knew they couldn't dodge realistically? Damage Inflicted and Taken: So blow by blow, this match would be incredibly hard to discern a winner – both went all out. I will say that both Namine and Lighnting took their fair-share of blows and truthfully if this battle would have drawn out, I feel like Namine would have been at a gross disadvantage. I can whole-heartedly say that I believe Lightning won this one by a land-slide if for no other reason than she consistently laid down the smack down and didn’t hesistate to pursue Namine despite all of her magick. [******Lighting******] Skill and Style:
So for me, this one was a no-brainer because I can honestly say that reading this battle was much like mine and Silv’s. Namine was the underdog, she doesn’t possess nearly half as many powerful strikes as Lightning. However, she met each one of Lightning’s strikes with a creative block and counter of her own. I honestly don’t think I’d have fared half as well as she did. Plus, it was fun to watch how Namine shifted from persona to persona – each one drastically different from one another and she captured their essence with ease. So it is with great pleasure, I announce that Namine won this section.
[******Namine******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: First and foremost, I want to say that this thread was incredible to read. Namine and Lightning legit stood upon equal plains despite the vastly different prowess displayed IG. I will say that both Namine and Lightning painted vivid pictures of how their battlefield shifted throughout their battle. I also think that having the Dice Roll in place on Namines behalf made it quite fair – each attack legit a 50% hit or miss. However, I will say that Lightning definitely went that extra mile when it came to the descriptive writing and she was an incrediable sport especially when half of her higher-ranked spells didn’t hit because of the system they’d used. So while I wish I could nominate you, I would say that Lightning definitely won this one.

First of all, unrelated to any particular category, I’d like to say this battle was an awesome read. It was a lot more then just a exchange of blows, and both writers should know they did amazingly! I wish I had the drawing skills to depict Lightning riding Odin to charge up at Naminé dragon like a boss! Damage Inflicted and Taken:
Lightning pretty clearly dominated the flow of battle. More then just dealing more consistent damage (which she undoubtedly did), Lightning set the pace of battle and pursued Namine despite facing a maze of shenanigans within shenanigans, keeping the Memory Witch on the defensive for almost the whole battle (Dragon Surprise non-withstanding). This is no discredit to Naminé for whom it would’ve been out of character to suddenly got from relatively inexperienced to being ready to take on Lightning the Godslayer. Naminé was outmatched in the offense department but didn’t let that stop her from putting up one heck of a fight.
[******Lightning******] Skill and Style:
This battle was very unique in that it had a lot of concrete things happening at once. It wasn’t abstract stuff like “buffs” but rather both fighters did well at manipulating the battlefield to their advantage. Lightning did a very good job of adapting to an ever-changing circumstances and stayed true to her strategy of utilizing her opponent’s weak points (particularly when the enemy was airborne at various points) to tactically strike the enemy. Likewise, she employed area of effect spells wisely, rather then just spamming them, often for the purpose of clearing out Naminé’s various minions.
However I have to give Naminé the credit for utilizing her X-factor. She turned the battle into a surreal labyrinth of illusions within illusions the perfectly encapsulated Naminé’s unique character. She employed her abilities in ways that were not often obvious and rather then just saying things hit or missed, utilized her moves to illustrate how things missed in a way that was believable for a young girl trying to survive the assault of a seasoned warrior. Overall her style was both memorable and tangible in how it affected combat.
[******Naminé******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship:
Before reading this I wouldn’t have thought that a battle between Lightning and Naminé would be interesting or dynamic. Both writers brought their descriptive and imaginative skills to the table and proved me totally wrong! There was some great writing here. I particularly liked Lightning’s descriptions, like of how the heat from the dragon’s breathe created drafts that scattered notebook papers, an example of excellent attention to detail! Both writers were quite fair, giving the other credit where it was due and weren’t afraid to put their character’s in disadvantaged situations. This was honestly really had for me to decide and if ties were allowed, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
However what it was the dice system Naminé used that leads me to give her the edge on sportsmanship. It made things both comprehensible and fair. But Naminé also wasn’t afraid to give way to realism and allow all attacks to hit because she was a giant dragon who couldn’t dodge. Both did excellently, but my vote is for Naminé.

Damage Inflicted and Taken: So, both combatants took their share of beatings, there's no doubt about it. However, not only did I feel that Namine took more damage than Lightning, but Lightning was able to heal herself, negating a lot of Namine's hard work. Lightning also did a lot more defending and dodging attacks, which helped to dampen a lot of the damage she could have recieved. All in all, Lightning was the powerhouse in this fight. [******Lightning******] Skill and Style: Both combatants definitely worked to take full advantage of their fighting styles. Lightning was the hardened soldier, making good use of her equipments and abilities to their fullest. However, I believe it was Namine that truly stood out to me as the victor. She definitely used the most of her abilities to both defend and attack in very creative ways. Thus, she was able to take control of the fight from Lightning at various points. Namine even turned into a DRAGON to try and get the upper hand! Very unexpected from everyone's favorite artistic witch. [******Namine******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: As far as this category hard, it's pretty hard to say which one was better. Both played a very fair game and the fight was not only easy to follow but a very awesome read. One could almost say it was a draw. However, I do have to give this to Namine by a slim margin. What sealed it for me was the fact that even when the dice she used to determine attack effectiveness told her that Lightning's Army of One attack missed, she still played it fair by allowing some of the attacks to hit, as she felt that Namine's lack of combat experience wouldn't let her be that good. Another thing was... well, Namine's writing was very good but her last post was the best possible end to this fight I could think of. Very well done.
