ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY
”Thanks guys!” Sora said to Huey Dewey and Louie. They'd given him a free ice cream in return for running a couple errands in the residential area. Tiffa and Cid were asking for a lot of supplies but the triplets didn't have the man power to move that much stuff for them even if the munny was good. Uncle Scrooge was away so naturally Sora got involved before they even had to ask for help. It was fate being there when he needed to be. Sora had something to do no matter where he went. Staying on the move kept his energy up and he got to see more of his friends that way.
But right then there was something inside tugging on him to stay. Just take a walk and wait instead of going out at looking for the next little adventure. He wondered through the resident area again but not yet having yet bit into the sea salt popsicle. A bit of it melted as he walked leaving a lengthy trail of blue droplets. Sora wasn't paying attention since, for once in his exciting life, he was lost in the shallow pool of his thoughts.
The sky was still. The air was chill. His heart beat inside his body to a slow rhythm. Not a single monster reared it head.
Huh... it's really quiet in Radiant Garden when the heartless aren't swarming. Eventually he stumbled across the ruins of the bailey that was more like a cliff with pile of rubble under the sheer drop. He leaned over from the top, gazing into the valley far below him. The ice cream slipped from his hand, falling in the depths. Sora reached for it but it was too late. The blue dessert plummeted with the teen gawking at the sight of it once it landed and splattered into a big puddle of goop.
"Awe, I could have been eating that the whole time. Guess I learned my lesson." He half expected to hear Goofy's surprise advice and encouragement. But it wasn't there. Neither was Donald who would have howled at him for being careless. There were the voices he missed the most. Not like he had to have people around him all day... but he was just used to them. Their trio was a solid unit.
For a second he though about going back to the ducks to ask for another one -this time paying for the dessert- but that wouldn't do. He was grateful for their gift and didn't want to say that he hadn't even licked it. Which would be rude since it was a 'thank you' gift. The boy was letting it get to him so he moved on. His mood was dipping.
While Sora was letting his heart push him on the impromptu detour he looked at Radiant Garden, really looking without being in a rush or under pressure to fight heartless or protect something. Getting a good view of everything really changed how he perceived the world. The bailey wasn't as high off the ground as he remembered and the castle wasn't as big... ok still pretty big anyway. There was a lot lot little things just sitting in the corners that weren't in his memory, sure it was mostly just rubble from the battle between the nobodies and heartless but now he was looking at it like it all as if it were new scars on the face of the world.
The invasion felt like it was yesterday. He remembered all those heartless in the open area of the gorge. They were tough to fight down all at once but he pulled through with strength and courage holding him together. He wondered if he would be ready for another one of those battles. His strength was maybe half way to that point. Ever since the True organization trapped him he just wasn't the same. Sora was recovering still and it wasn't that different than when he started another journey during the time when the nobodies were everywhere. He built himself up to face Xemnas. He could do it again it would just take more time. A year had passed since the mark or mastery exam when Riku became a master. Sora expect to be his peer by this point. Yet he didn't yet have that title. What was holding him back?
"Left or right?" He asked himself, speaking out loud as if it would make the choice easier. He was getting indecisive. He hated that. Just that feeling of not knowing what to do and not doing anything until he knew. It's what made him afraid and that would eat at him. So he turned left on impulse and headed for the gorge and blue rocky canyon that dominated the world outside the city walls. Heartless could be there but he made a choice and was sticking to it.

“Please, hear my call... answer me, essence of this world.”
He ha been chanting this for a few minutes now, trying to get any connection to what is plaguing this world. Astrant had been to some worlds now and had connected to the nature off it to listen to it’s prayers but this one.. wasn’t answering him at all. It was like it was sleeping and recovering from something terrible that had happened to it, but Astrant still tried. He tried to find out what was making this world suffer so much. It was still alive, but only seemed to be a shadow of what it once was.
He was standing on a platform of some kind of ruin, all around him only cold rocks and the winds of this wasteland.
“I want to help you. Tell me what I can do to end your suffering. Tell me how I can cure you!”
The White Mage held his staff right with both hands, the end of the staff placed firmly on the ground, a few little waves of magic coming from where it was touching the cold stone, slowly moving out like waves from a stone that broke the surface of water, the rings fading after they reached one meter of distance to the core. They had a soft green colour that faded when they reached the end. Astrant had his eyes closes firmly, seeming determined to help the heart of this world to recover and revive itself.
Astrant couldn’t take to see this Radiant Garden like this, drained of all it’s life. It was once filled with so much light and now..? It was just a shadow.. a shadow of it’s former glory. He had been doing this for to long how it seemed, but even though he was getting very tired from his attempts, he just wouldn’t stop, taking a stronger grip on his wooden staff, the crystal’s glow intensifying.
I.. I won’t give up on you.
Astrant was a great white mage, but he couldn't do this. No one from gridania could. His body was getting to weak to hold on and the waves stopped, Astrant crumbling to his knees, the staff falling out of his hands. Not even the Padjal could fix a hearts like this. It was in such a deep sleep, it couldn't be reawakened by his hands.
Astrant uses his White Magic and tries to get a connction to the heart of the world in hopes of finding what is draining it and cure it again

ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY The bearer looked ahead after turning left from the bailey. Blue stone surrounded him. To his surprise green light rippled from an aura spreading from the person standing alone ahead. It couldn't be missed. Sora was drawn by more than curiosity so he jogged closer. He heard someone and they sounded like they were whispering something, but to no one in particular. They too quiet to hear from a far.
”Hey!” He called, waving and quickly nearing. "Are you hurt?" He asked, wondering if that wave of energy was some form of healing magic. He felt relieved to see someone out in the emptiness. It meant the world wasn't empty after all.
"Oh uh. I'm Sora. Welcome to Radiant Garden!" He didn't recognize this person. They were probably like Sora, from a whole other world.
"If you're looking for people then you can find them... that way." He pointed towards the town which was over the wall thus couldn't really be seen.
"The heartless don't seem to be around today. But I'll stick around in case they do. So, what brings you all the way out here?" Sora smiled, forgetting about whatever he was thinking before.

Astrant was just recovering from his failed attempt of resurrection, when he heard the voice of a young mean reaching his pointy ears. He looked up, turning his head to see a young boy with brown and spiky hair come his direction, throwing words over words at the Elezen. The white mage blinked a few times, trying to keep up with the youth, carefully picking up his staff again and getting up slowly.
“I'm.. I'm alright..”
He now fully turned to the Sora and seemed to look him over for a moment. He could sense a strong light from the kid. It was almost blinding to him. Astrant moved up his hand, gesturing for Sora to slow down for a moment. Astrant took a second to gather his thoughts.
“Sora... Thank you for your concern, but I am not looking for people. I chose this place on purpose, beacuse it is so far away from the town."
No one would distract him here of his ritual.. but it had failed anyways, making the Elezen look to the ground in shame. “I am Astrant Lufeois.“, he continued, bowing down to the other. “I.. I came here to perform a ritual from my home that helps us druids to connect to the spirit of our surroundings. I tried to cure this place and reawaken it from it's sleep.. I failed.”
Astrant seemed very sad by this fact and sighed, fixing his glasses with his free hand. “If you are from this world.. than I am sorry I couldn't help. I did my best...”

ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY ”Tried to... cure it?” He asked, not really sure what Astrant meant by curing it. Sora understood that magic could heal but not on a level that could restore the world with one easy spell. Even if this guy had that kind of magic, it didn't work by the looks of it.
"Don't beat yourself up. It's hard work. And, it's not just us trying to do it all. There are others from all over who are helping, too." He pulled out his membership card to the Radiant Garden Restoration Committee and offered it for a closer look. Other than being proof of membership, this card was once the conduit of the world's heart, the keyhole that Sora closed over a year ago.
Now it was just a card but that didn't meant the bond was gone. The connection was in the boy's heart. If Astrant wanted to help then it just seemed right that Sora was there to assist him.
"If we work together we can do anything." He was confident in that, but there was actually a lot to do between reconstruction and fighting the forces of darkness. Sora then remembered again that the heartless were still absent. If anything they'd be engaged with morning stars or something else dangerous.
Wait, did Astrant defeat them? Huh, that made sense.
"So you're trying to connect to the spirit of the world? I can do that, with this!" Sora summoned the keyblade in his hand. It was a tool to do exactly that, connect with the hearts of people or entire worlds. It did come with some problems. With the greater his light, the longer his shadow. A keyblade, wherever it went, risked attracting the attention of heartless. They craved it but also feared its power.
In the corner of his eye, Sora saw a black pit sneak around the rubble. Turning his attention from the other off-world boy, the teen took a fighting position and waited for the heartless to pop out of the floor or even the air itself. But they didn't. They were still gone. This was gunna drive him crazy.
"Sorry. It's just that there haven't been any heartless. The canyon is normally teaming with them but today it's like they're on vacation. Have you seen any? Monsters that steal people's hearts?"

The boy seemd to understand and tried to cheer him up with his words. Astrant was thankful for it and offered a little smile in return to the boy's words of encouragement. The kid was not done however with his speech, suddenly summoning a giant key with a strong spark of light. Astrant jumped back in surprise, his ember eyes widening in confusion, which immediately changed to excitement when he walked closer again, examining the object with his eyes, pushing up his glasses again to get an even better look.
“You can do that with his key? That is incredible, Sora!”, he would say out loud, already eager to touch it, but he wouldn't without the others permission. Who knew.. maybe this object would hurt him? He was sure the kid needed a special power to wield something so powerful and he could sense the amount of light that radiated from it. Actually, it was resonating perfectly with Sora's, like this weapon was a part of him. He would make sure to try and get more knowledge about this object.
“Have you tried healing this world with it? Do you know what has happened to it to be in this state? Maybe we can do something about it!!”
Astrant's eyes sparkled with determination. This is what the universe wanted him to do.. and meeting this boy today must be fate. The kid however seemed worried about something all of the sudden, mentioning some creatures that usually roamed these parts. Astrant blinked a few times. “Monsters.. that steal people's hearts..?”
He placed a hand on his chin, seeming to think about his encounters before. “I.. I banished some demons that were here before... I didn't know they feed on heart's, though. That sounds awful..”
Now Astrant was really concerned. Where did these beasts come from? Was there a portal to the void somewhere close by? He knew that monsters from the void can drain your energy, but eat your heart?! That is a whole other level of terrifying!
“Where I come from.. there are demons that suck the life out of things, like forests and even human beings... Are these heartless related to them, maybe? Are they the reason for this world's condition?”

ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY ”It was more than the heartless who did all this. But yeah they're a lot of trouble for all worlds.” Sora recalled fighting beside his friends against the heartless but also fighting one of the organization members who called him Roxas. Goofy got hurt in this place, this squarish area. That was one of the time Sora lost his cool. But his rage was short lived and Goofy turned out fine. So many things, good and bad, happened in over a year ago. Those events were hard to forget.
"Another one of the problems here are the Nobodies. They're like the opposite of heartless but they're also evil. Some are like people and they had a group called Organization XIII. They were trying to create Kingdom Hearts so they sent heartless every where and.." Sora stopped, wondering if he even had the story right. He shook his head. Astrant seemed like the kind of person who liked books and reading and getting into the details. Sora was not. He was simple and kept moving forward by tackling his problems head-on.
"It's a long story and someone else can say it better than I could. I just fought a lot of heartless and nobodies. Closing this world's keyhole with the keyblade helps keep them away but it's not gunna last forever. As long as there's darkness in people's hearts then there are heartless." He was quoting someone but couldn't recall the name or where he heard the phrase. But it was true, all of it.
"So, what's your world like? Mine's very different from this one. It has a huge ocean and I live on the coast next to an island where my friends and I spent all our time together."

Astrant was still very confused by what the kid told him. Heartless attacked more than this world? Nobodies are the opposite of heartless? What was going on with the universe. And most importantly: What could he do about it?! He had been taken here for a reason.. maybe this was it? To protect the worlds from the heartless and those nobodies? If so, he had a lot of work on his hands...
Astrant seemed very troubled by what the kid told him, rubbing his chin while he looked down to the ground. Locking a keyhole.. so that is what that weapon he had was for? So he was already on a mission to help the worlds, even though he was still so young. He almost pitied the boy for it. “So.. you are hunting them? And locking down those keyholes?”
Astrant walked closer to the kid, placing his hand on the others head. “You poor soul.. you are far to young to have to deal with these kind of things.”
He offered Sora a small smile and blinked a few times when the other asked him about his world and told him some stuff about his own. “Oh, my world is very big. I come from a part in the mountains. It's always snowing there and we have some difficulties with a war.” A war that just wouldn't come to a halt. Astrant thought about what the kid might be interested in. “I guess it's pretty warm where you come from, if you live close to the ocean with your friends? It sounds like a nice place to grow up...”
The elezen chuckled for a moment. “And here you are with such a mighty weapon. You must already have faced a lot. Your light is strong."

ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY The word war stuck to the boy’s ear. Astrant’s home was in trouble, not a new issue but with an old issue.
”Is there anyway I can help? Even if you live in a far away place I'm willing to go the distance. And I'm a decent fighter.” he was ignorant of what a war really looked like but his journeys and trials made him strong before. To seek out new challenges was something he knew would grow his strength and his heart.
”Heartless!” Sora warned, seeing a shadow sneak up on the two of them. Its presence was weak as it was among the weaker evils that lurked the worlds.
Keyblade already in hand, he waiting for the opportunity to attack the flat heartless once it popped up. But it wasn't alone. The keyblade bearer was unaware of a neoshadow coming from behind with its claws.

The Elezen couldn't help but to smile softly when the other asked him if he could do anything for his world. Astrant wished he could.. but this kid was far to young to get involved with the problems of his home. He admired his determination to bring peace to the other worlds, just like Astrant wanted to do.
“I am sure you are, Sora.. but my home world is not unprotected. Those chosen by the light are already fighting on it to protect it from the darkness.”
He was talking about the Warriors of light, of course. Those chosen by the mother crystal... they were able to free Ishgard and continued on their path to make sure that the darkness wouldn't take their world's heart.
Astrant was about to ask the boy something else, when he suddenly seemed alarmed by something. Heartless? Those shadows were back?! Immediately Astrant grabbed his staff again and looked around frantically for the danger. A shadow was attacking Sora but the kid defended himself.. which however made him open for an attack of a far bigger one that appeared behind him all of the sudden. “Watch out!”
Astrant needed to act fast. He didn't know if he could reach the kid in time to create a shield... so he had to use offensive magic. He moved up his staff, muttering something fast before energy would form in front of him, forming a rock that was send out to the Neoshadow, knocking against it's torso as it tried to attack the boy. The Neoshadow was send back, hitting the ground but getting up fast again. The White Mage held his staff in a firm grip, immediately continuing to chant something, a strange aura setting itself on Sora and him, a shield forming out of light that turned invisible shortly after around them.
Astrant cast Stone on the Neoshadow and knocked it back [Cooldown: 1] //Slow didn't activate Ae_qxM2h1-5

ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY The duo managed to protect each other. Sora turned around to see the neoshadow that was stopped by the white mage. Then an aura of light surrounded him. He never felt anything like it but could tell it would help protect him against their enemies.
"Thank you!" He said. It had to be quick because there wouldn't be any time to chat. More heartless appeared. This time two morning star heartless, both spherical and spiky, arrived by their dark corridor. They were green on top with a zig-zag yellow and black underside. Holes were where their limbs popped out. At any moment they could reach inside and then bring out large spiked weapons. Then of course they could spin around like tornadoes and flatten everything around them.
Next to the large pair, three armored knight heartless popped up. They held a blade in one hand, though faster at moving than their bulky companions they weren't quick to strike. In the thousand heartless battle they moved carefully with consideration of their one opponent. It was actually their big weakness to out maneuver them and counter attack.
Going right into the action Sora sent a shot of Fire out from his keyblade toward an armored knight. It burst apart into bits of darkness and released a small heart into the air. They were still pretty weak heartless even i a large number.
A morning star decided it wasn't going to wait and hammered down on Sora. The teen then held up his keyblade to block. The arm of the large heartless recoiled. Sora left an opening for Astrant use. Teamwork would pull them through this encounter.

Many more of the beasts appeared. Astrant gave the young man a smile and a nod for his words of appreciation, before the white mage would turn to the enemies, gulping a little when he saw the two tall ones and the knights with the blades. He shook his head however. No, he won't back down. They needed to work together for this and Astrant would never leave someone behind.
The kid attacked on of the soldiers and destroyed it and send one of the morning stars into an unstable position. Immediately, Astrant murmured something again and a ball of water formed before him, before he released it on the Morning star, the creature being send back and against a wall where it seemed to be stunned by the forceful hit.
One of the knights now targeted Astrant, coming in with a rather fast attack. The Whitemage gasped in surprise and moved up his staff in hopes of defending himself. Thanks to his shield, the attack didn't hit with full power, but it was still enough to send him back and to the ground. Astrant groaned and tried to get back up immediately, moving up his staff to target an other of the remaining knights that went for him, his staff sending out a strong gust of wind that hit the enemy and knocked him away. The wind took hold of the target, the creature seeming to struggle and get the spell off of him.

ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY "Astrant!" The teen hollered in shock, seeing his friend harmed and acknowledging the need to assist him. Sora wanted to throw a healing spell but he was distracted by the heartless in front of him who weren't concerned with their own allies. They wouldn't be called the heartless if they were. The second morning star came at the keyblader with its two spiked arms stretched out in its whirling spin. Sora leaped over it to avoid the attack. Then with his momentum he dived with the keyblade pointed at the head at the center of the tornado. A brief clash knocked the morning star over but didn't appear to damage it at all, only staggered and stunned.
Sora didn't hesitate to stay on the offense. He pointed his weapon at an armored knight, the one left unharmed.
"Freeze!" He shouted. From the teeth of the keyblade shot a blue sphere of semi-transparent ice like a cannon ball. It flew steadily for half a second then shattered in a burst of cold chunks, knocking an armored knight over. The ice didn't destroy its target but managed to stun it for a second. Unsatisfied, Sora hastily pointed the keyblade overhead then called for thunder. Immediately a bolt of lightning struck down over the heartless and fried it. The black shell evaporated and released another heart, this one a little bigger than the first released.
"We can do this!" He said, encouraging his ally. They were taking care of the small fries and the two bulky tanks were incapacitated. If things went on like this then they would win the battle.

The white mage had finally recovered from the attack and got back up to his feet to see that Sora was taking care of most of the enemies on his own. The kid really was skilled and it made Astrant sigh a little. He won’t have to worry to much about the boys safety. From what he could see, only one knight was remaining and a Morning Star-Heartless. He ran over to Sora, to take position next to him. Both of the heartless seemed to target Sora now and that was Astrant’s chance to take them out together at once. He took a firm stand and held his staff in front of him, the crystal starting to glow in a blinding light.
“Get down, Sora! I will send them back into the void!”, he warned the other, hoping he would take it seriously. The skill he was about to use was one of the most powerful a White Mage could gather. He knew it might not be necessary to go this far, but the kid had taken out so many of them and it was his duty to make up for his aid. It was not the first time he did this and it wouldn’t be the last.. He chanted something, moving up the staff to aim at the sky, the light moving upwards with a loud sound before suddenly exploding, sending a strong wave of holy magic out. The two heartless that tried to attack where hit by the immense wave and send backwards, both bursting under the strong influence of the light it held. The light faded shortly after, the crystal becoming dull and the battle field looked like nothing ever happened...
Astrant lowered his staff and took a few deep breaths, sweat rolling down his face. He turned to the kid, hoping he had followed his instructions to not get hit by the spell by accident. “Are.. you hurt?"
Astrant used Sanctus to destroy all heartless!

ONE SKY, ONE DESTINY Enveloped by the blinding light of the heavenly power, Sora reacted to the command by jamming his eye lids shut and crossing his arms over his face. He turned out just fine. However, those pesky heartless were vaporized into nothing. Sora checked to make sure of their absence once the smiting spell was no longer sparkling over the battlefield.
Barren. Only the light bearing pair were there.
"Wow Astrant, that was amazing!" Who wouldn't be dazzled with that spectacular finish? No one. This guy seriously impressed the keyblader. Sora had his own similar ability with a bit more ritual to it compared to the other guy's power but it practically did the same thing. If there were heartless then the teen had an opportunity to use it for a light show.
"Oh yeah, I'm great but are you hurt?"
