"Empty creature from Ventus riven... to you, the name Vanitas shall be given." |
words: 235. tag: @vanitas . notes: notes here |
A dry, dusty wind swept over the plains of the Keyblade Graveyard. Xehanort stood in the center of a crossroads, among a veritable sea of masterless, lifeless keys. He had called Vanitas to meet him here today, at the place of his original birth. The poetry wasn't lost on the old Master. It was only fitting that the place where his initial plan was put into motion and where that same plan failed was to be the place they met again. He had orchestrated Vanitas's revival long ago; since he was Xemnas, in fact. He ran at that time, but now, he was sure to answer his Master's call. It was for that reason Xehanort wasn't worried.
That boy was drawn to power like a moth to flame, and Xehanort proved that he could give it to him. The masked boy was rather easy to control in that sense. Power was such a base desire, one that someone like Master Xehanort could easily fulfill. The χ-Blade was a mighty gift for Vanitas to receive, but Xehanort considered that weapon the second prize in comparison to what he was after in the end. Once Vanitas had joined up with him once more, he would be back at his full strength. Once that was the case, it would be about time to call a meeting. Him and the others had plenty of planning to do after all.

It was quite the day for Vanitas he would finally reunite with his old master or rather father. It wasn't something he would openly admit but he had missed Xehanort but maybe not for the person but for his power. It was something he did appreciate out of anything he would care for. He didn't care for much but Xehanort seemed to be one of the few things he would care about. He was the one who created him and taught him much like a real father but what Vanitas respected about him was his power and wisdom. As the corridor of darkness opened Vanitas would step out of it in his usual garb and his mask removed showing his Sora like qualities in his face but the fierce yellow eyes showing his dark features on them. Vanitas' face was in a mix of upset and crazed though Xehanort might notice a slight grin upon Vanitas seeing him.
"I see you haven't died yet old man." he would say rudely as per usual. "I guess that is good though. Wouldn't want you croaking before it's time." Vanitas had said as he approached the man. "Did you have fun on your vacation then old man?" Vanitas saying not really knowing where he had been. "While you were gone I had been stuck inside this punk named Roxas for a time. That punk was lucky he wasn't really that loser Ventus otherwise he would be dead now." Vanitas saying outright nearly forgetting he'd have to keep Ventus alive to make the X-Blade. "What have you been doing this whole time then?" Vanitas had asked curious about others for once as he folded his arms waiting on his response.

The elderly Keyblade Master hadn't been waiting for long when he heard a familiar voice come from behind him. Turning to greet Vanitas, Xehanort smirked. "Of course I am not dead, boy. What do you take your Master for?" When asked if he had fun on his "vacation," the old man's smirk grew. "It was... productive. I hope you have been getting stronger, Vanitas. Resurrecting you was no small feat." At the mention of the masked boy slaying Roxas if he had turned out to be Ventus, Xehanort pointed at his apprentice. "Now, I trust you haven't forgotten that we still need Ventus. Even though the initial plan failed, it still wouldn't hurt to have a backup."
The Master put his hand back behind his back with the other when when Vanitas asked what he had been up to these years. "Work." The elderly man put it simply. "War is coming. A glorious war. We need to be sure everything is in order. I myself have only been resurrected a short while ago in this form, though I have lived in many forms this past decade." Once that was said, he asked Vanitus a question next. "And you? I trust you have done more than just travelling around."

I think it best to archive this thread. Vanitas has already made himself known with the raid so I think that will end the thread for now.
