Tournament Reviews This template is to be used for the Tournament review. A minimum of 3 reviews are needed to decide the winner. For every knowledgeable and well written review, you will gain 20 munny to the character account you post the review with. You may only post one review per raid. Please be sure that your review is detailed and informed. Site Rules still apply to raid reviews, so be polite and respectful. Everything a member posts is to be read as constructive criticism and is not to be taken as an attack. Any issues should be reported directly to a staff member. With these reviews, rather than simply listing a winner in each catagory, please rank the top three in each category. We will reward each 1st ranking with 3 points, 2nd with 2, and 3rd with 1. This will help us decide who moves onto the final round. Damage Inflicted and Taken: What powers were used and what damage taken should be reviewed here, as well as the effects of any powers used. Basically, which side dealt more and which side took more damage.
Key Points:- Overall damage inflicted
- Strategic use of items
- Overall combative dominance
Questions to Ask Yourself:How much damage would that skill have inflicted on the target? Would a skill be super effective against the character, such as using a potion against someone inflicted with zombie. Who caused the most damage? Which side would have probably won the fight. Skill and Style: This isn't for it being well written, but the creative style and effect of their strategy and if it also had a imaginative visual.
Key Points:- In-Character Combat Style
- Skills used wisely
- Use of weaknesses and strength
Questions to Ask Yourself: Did the member stick to their character's fighting style? Did they set them up in a way that would have been hard to defend against? Did that character use their unique/individual fighting style, or 'X-factor' to their best advantage? Did they use their known written powers in such a way that they normally wouldn't use them? Did someone feel out-of-character? Who controlled the battle? Who was more dominant with how the flow of battle went against the other? Did a character seem to be reacting to attacks more than being the one to inflict them? Did one player keep the other on their toes more than the other? Did one character seemed more defensive, calm and collected than the other? Did one person execute an ingenious strategy to win? Did one character identify the other's weaknesses or use their opponent's strength against them? Did a character start at a loss, only to turn it around and gain the flow and control of the battle in their favor? Did a character seem to just use attacks and throw them at the opponent, or used them in a way that was hard for the opponent to fight/defend/counter against? Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: How well did the member write and describe their actions and surroundings. This also includes if a character did not explain themselves or were not justified in their movements or dodging.
Key Points:- Stayed In-Character
- Easy to Understand
- Overall fairness
Questions to ask yourself: Did they justify certain movements and their character's fight style? Whether their post was short or long, where they able to explain their actions to the reader and get their point across? Did you question any actions or abilities a character did make? How well did you understand their writing? Did they dodge an attack that should have otherwise harmed them? Did they ignore or shrugged off attacks or write that the attacks had no effect on them? Did they seem to know something about their opponent that otherwise their character wouldn't know? Did a character do something you felt was not fair or use a power not listed/misuse a power listed on their application? Who had the best sportsmanship, and was fair to the other team in taking damage? Did someone take a hit that they probably could have dodged? Did a team take hits that they knew they couldn't dodge realistically? Damage Inflicted and Taken: Ok, this was a tough one to decide. I think Zidane was fair about his speed avoiding attacks, but didn't really dish out a whole lot of damage in comparison to the other 4. Silv is hard to judge because she was absent half of the thread, but when she was there she did dish out a couple heavy attacks that ultimately missed the mark. Morne had plenty of powerful attacks, but a lot of the attacks missed their mark. James seemingly had a ton of good shielding abilities to protect himself, but again there wasn't much offense. Sark had some devastating attacks, but took a ton of damage as well.
Judging fairness, I'd say Zidane almost dodged too many attacks. Yes, it was well within character to be nimble, but in all fairness there probably should have been at least one or two more hits on him. Silv was very fair, but there was a lot she didn't react to because she missed posts. Morne didn't really take a whole lot of damage, but his mouth made him a huge target. He did excellent by rolling with the punches, but that one tidbit lost him a lot of points in my book. James did well here by taking a couple hits early on before putting his guard up in the latter half of the thread. Sark is a clear winner in the back half for taking nearly everything thrown at him, and easily dealing just as much out.
If the fight were to go on, Sark would probably end up losing here due to the heavy damage he took, but I can only judge what was written. Morne was writing himself into a victory, but he had also made himself a target. Chances are, once Sark went down, Zidane and James would team up to take him out before finishing the battle themselves, but, again, I can only judge what was written. First Place: Sark
Second Place: James
Third Place: Zidane Skill and Style: Zidane killed it here, but that's no surprise if you know the character. Silv didn't really do a whole lot, but did showcase a few skills. Morne had attack after attack to throw at everyone, and did well to vary it up. James made good use of his shielding abilities, but his offensive use of skills fell flat. Sark, man he made excellent use of his limited skills to make a big impact.
Zidane and Sark are definite front runners here, mostly due to how they used the skills. I really took note of Zidane disarming James early on and the Mug on Sark at the tail end of the fight. Morne used a lot of different abilities here, but one of my pet peeves is calling out your attacks. That anime trope makes your attacks a thousand times easier to dodge, and loses a lot of style in my book. Zidane used his abilities to keep himself at advantage, even if they weren't all doing damage, and Sark devastated everyone with the few abilities he did showcase. First Place:Zidane
Second Place:Sark
Third Place: Morne Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: Again, I think this mainly goes to Sark, Zidane, and James but for different reasons. Descriptive Writing is very well done by Zidane here, and he painted a clear picture with his abilities. However, he also dodged a lot of techniques, making it difficult in the Sportsmanship department. Sark easily defined his actions with fewer words, and did well to make sure he was almost overly fair about taking everyone's damage. Morne was also descriptive about his strikes, but didn't take a whole lot of damage. Its hard to judge Silv on this because she missed a bit, but her attacks did seem descriptive, but she didn't take a lot of damage in the posts she did write either. James was very fair with his writing, but it wasn't the most descriptive of the lot. This category is very hard to judge after my top two. I'm torn between Morne and James for the third place. Both did was fairly well, while lacking in another. Therefore, I will award a third place tie for the two of them. First Place: Sark
Second Place: Zidane
Third Place: James & Morne (tie)
First Place: Sark
Second Place: Zidane
Third Place: James

Damage Inflicted and Taken: So we’ll start off with Zidane – a speedy character even by FF-verse criteria. I do believe that he played his character well. However, I felt that he spent more time dodging and trying to steal things from his opponents than doing actual damage. I believe that he dodged a large number of attacks, yet I do feel that he was fair with the attacks that he made – while he didn’t take much damage, he didn’t really do much either. In the case of Silv, I have to agree that she wasn’t present for a large portion of the battle. I do believe that if she was present more often she would of dealt a far greater bit of damage. Morne and James, I think that you guys were both phenomenal. I feel like Morne purposely made a target out of himself, he didn’t really take much damage and when he’d dodged it was mostly coincidental. James, you were great at defense, but your offensive left a lot to desire – if this were a war of attrition you might of survived for a while but I don’t think you would of won. Lastly, Sark. So I believe that Sark was overly fair with the damage dealt and taken. He was the only one that really showed to have been critical injured. So with those factors in mind….
[Fist Place: SARK Second Place: SILV Third Place: ZIDANE ] Skill and Style:
So again, I’ll start off with Zidane. I felt that he’d personally played the character very well and make full use of Zidane’s roguish personality. I feel like Zidane almost didn’t take the battle seriously at times, his antics made me chuckle a few times. That being said, I think that he remained within character and showcased the full array of Zidane’s talents. Now Silv, you weren’t really present for much of the battle, but when you did you unleashed some gnarly attacks and you brought back some nostalgia for me – I remember when I first met your lovely little Horsemen back in the first or second incarnation. James – if you were a castle and this was a war of attrition, you’d survive, but only because everyone got tired of attacking you… Morne – I liked the variety in your abilities and the somewhat creative use of the environment. Sark, I can say that you made use of your few-limited abilities and I commend you for that because going up against some people with a more diverse skill set.
First Place: Zidane Second Place: Sark Third Place: Morne Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: So, I have to ultimately say that Sark was the winner in Sportsmanship – he was the only character to dish out some devastating blows but also end up in a critical condition himself. I will also that that he won descriptive writing just because I felt he truly embraced how Sark would take damage. Now, in close second, we have Mr. Zidane. Now I fully believe that Zidane painted a wonderful picture, I could recreate a cinematic movie in my head based off what he told me. However, Zidane your little rogue is a bit too nimble at times and makes it hard to judge sportsmanship (however I feel like this is how it would of played out anyway). Lastly, James…. I found that you were quite fair in your damage taken and dished out. Again, you leaned heavily towards the defensive and I can’t fault you for that. But with that in mind…
First Place: Sark Second Place: Zidane Third Place: James First Place: Sark
Second Place: Zidane
Third Place: Morne&James

Damage Inflicted and Taken: In my opinion Morne and Sark were probably the best when it came to inflicting damage (in regards to both power and frequency of attacks, even though Morne started at a slower pace), with Zidane coming next (he was very quick with his attacks). I thought James was more on the defensive then the offensive (defense isn't a bad thing, but sometimes it can dampen the flow of a fight. He had good attacks though.), and I also find it very hard to judge Silv since she stopped replying. She had some very good attacks though when she was in the fight. Morne and Sark were definitely the big guns in the fight, but also they both took some heavy hits from each other. I think Sark probably took the most damage and would have been soon defeated. Morne was doing well, but I think he would have met his end soon after Sark because of the damage inflicted. Zidane, James, and Silv were balanced with damage inflicted and taken. First Place: Morne
Second Place: Sark
Third Place: James Skill and Style: Sark took the cake with this one. I mean he broke a building, pulled a Power Rangers "make my monster grow" move, and was shocking people left and right. But seriously, even though he has a limited skill set he still excelled in utilizing that to do maximum damage. Kudos! Morne comes in behind him. Morne has some intricate skills that he performed to a T and even though at first I thought the showmanship was annoying I came to realize that that is a part of Morne and it sort of enhances his ability. He talks big, but he can back it up with skill. Zidane and James both displayed an array of skills, but I believe Zidane had more of a dynamic than James did. Again, James's defensive plays hurt him in this category. I really enjoyed what Silv had going and I wish there could have been more to see. First Place: Sark
Second Place: Morne
Third Place: Zidane Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: Ohhh this one is hard. Descriptively, I really enjoyed Sark and James the most. They were well written and described their actions very well. Morne was also very well written and had good descriptions, but at times the pompousness was a bit much. Zidane had very good descriptions and was in character, but at times I found it hard to read the post. Sometimes things ran together and it was hard to pull information out. It was a blur. SILV! I LOVED SILV. I found her funny and loved her posts. I wish she had more.
When it came to damage fairness Sark also had that one, easily. He had some wallops and reacted accordingly. For Morne I think he should have acted like he was taking the damage that he was taking. Sark hurts, man. You need to act like it. James and Zidane were reacting properly to the amount of damage that they were taking. First Place: Sark
Second Place: James
Third Place Morne First Place: Sark
Second Place : Morne
Third Place: James
