Such emptiness, Sora stood in The Castle That Never Was, it was filled with... nothingness. As Sora arrived in the Hall of Empty Melodies, he kept his guard up. This is where he battled Xigbar, despite the organization beyond destroyed, Sora still was cautious, he held his Kingdom Key tightly in his hand, but as he kept walking, nothing appeared. It was unsettling even, the only sound was the sound of Sora's footsteps and he roamed the empty castle.
Why was Sora even here? He wasn't sure himself, his heart just... guided him. Maybe this would a step to get some of his powers back. The last time he was here he almost became apart of the Organization, due to his stupidity, Riku and Mickey were both put into danger. Sora quickly pushed the thoughts to the back of his mind, he had to figure out why he was guided here.
Exiting the castle, he found himself at the Brink of Despair, after a short walk through the city he found himself at Memory's Skyscraper. This place brought back some memories for sure, this was where he and Roxas fought. Sora eyed the tall building, maybe that'll give him a better view. The key-bearer approached the Skyscraper before free running up to the top. As he reached the top Sora got a good view of the entire city, but once again nothing at all. With a heavy sigh, Sora climbed down the tower.
"HEY! IS ANYONE THERE?" The boy shouted cupping his hands around his mouth, just wondering if anyone would respond. His heart had brought him here for a reason, and Sora was set on finding out why.

There was a dream, a dream in which he woke up in a city blanketed by the night sky. Numerous buildings surrounded him, a city filled with light yet the streets were empty. He walked onwards, exploring this city, but he could tell there was one who was watching him, a feeling of some sorts. The dream came to an end, but the silver haired male couldn’t help but think back to that dream, thinking as if it was some sort of connection to Sora. His hands rose to his temples, rubbing them a tad before looking up at the blackened sky up above. “Was that…some sort of sign?” Riku said softly.
It had been so long since he started his search for Sora. Everybody had been searching all around in vain, but Riku didn’t give up in the slightest. He swore to Kairi that the three of them would be reunited and he couldn’t leave her in sorrow like that. He searched many worlds, but this time his trip lead him towards a place that was once considered a rather dangerous world. The World That Never Was, a place that still remained even after Xemnas’s defeat. It was a place he had to search, he needed to check if he wanted to say he checked everywhere.
Walking down the streets of the city, Riku could only think about his time fighting against Xemnas’s Organization XIII. There was a lot of tears and sacrifices made, things he did that he wasn’t proud of, but things turned out alright in the end. Riku couldn’t help but feel as if this place was his last hope in finding Sora, hoping that if Sora wasn’t here then maybe Kairi already found him. In the end his feet came to a halt the moment he heard that all too familiar call.
His legs began to move as fast as they could, not even thinking much as his body moved. He heard that voice echo out through the city, the cheerful voice that could only belong to that of one person. He rushed until finally he came to a halt upon the grand skyscraper that once stood watch over his battle with Roxas. He clenched his fist, yet the fist began to shake a tad. This was far too good to be true and he had difficulty believing it was real. His eyes looked up upon the skyscraper and in the end he saw that all too familiar head of spiky brown. “So…ra?!” Riku said with widened eyes, his mouth opened a bit stunned. He searched everywhere…and here he was…was it really him?

Sora listened as his yell echoed through the silent city, cupping his hand up to his hear to check for a response. After a few moments, his shout faded, it was silent once again. Sora listened in anticipation, but no one responded. A pout formed on the normally upbeat boy's face. Sulking, he turned around and started walking from the way he came. After just a couple of moments, Sora heard fast footsteps inching in. The boy's frown reversed as his body jerked around quickly looking. After just a bit of waiting, there stood Riku just a couple feet away from Sora.
"Ri...ku?" Sora said in sync with his friend. Nervously the key bearer took a few steps forward. It was really him, his best friend. Sora extended his arm, it froze and shook, "It really is you..." Tears quickly ran down the boy's face as his arm returned to his side. He swiftly took his palm and wiped them away, "Is Kairi with you?!" He looked behind Riku, then giving him a worried look. Of course, he would bring up Kairi. He lov-liked her a whole lot, their hearts were connected after all. "Is everyone okay?!" Sora missed all of his friends, but he couldn't go back just yet, despite how bad he wanted to.
"What are YOU doing here anyway?" Sora asked curiously putting his hands behind his head. Riku probably had similar questions. Sora wasn't sure just what to do, Riku would likely bring Sora back to the islands, but the boy wasn't sure how to decline. "My heart brought me here, you remember that thing Master Yen Sid always told us? Well, I did that and it brought me here, guess it was right!" Sora let out a little laugh. It was so good to see his friend again, it was just... a bit bittersweet, their reunion likely wouldn't go how Sora envisioned it

He couldn’t believe what was happening, he couldn’t believe that all his searching actually paid off, that the male before him was the one he sought after searching all those worlds. Could he believe it was him? He looked like him, but illusions were a terrible thing. His feet came to a halt as he stood away from the male, but soon enough he witnessed his best friend begin to speak to him. Whether this was an illusion or not, Riku saw the boy’s tears and more and more he began to believe that the Sora before him was the real deal. Questions began to pour through, nothing seemed off about this Sora and Riku placed a hand on his hip. “Kairi is off on another world searching for you, the same can be said about everybody else...” Riku said as he closed his eyes and let out a sigh. “We’ve all been looking everywhere for you” Riku said. Hearts were connected to each other, bound by each other to find each other no matter the deep darkness they were in. Following one’s heart would lead one to what they sought, lead them to others that were special to each other. Sora was his brother, they shared their childhood together and Riku had been adamant about finding him. It was just too good to be true and Riku had to see. Calmly walking forward, Riku suddenly reached forward and suddenly grabbed both cheeks of Sora’s and began to pull it.
It was him...Sora really was before him. The reaction the feeling he had...it wasn't just some illusion but the real deal, it was something his heart told him. A feeling of relief similar to when he first re-encountered King Mickey in Castle Oblivion began to fill him and Riku could help but fall back, sitting on the ground and let out a laugh, “I can’t believe it...we finally did it...we found you” Riku said as laughed happily. He couldn't do anything other than laugh at this moment. Laughing was the only thing the usually calm and cool Riku could do at this point, he was just so relieved after all the searching and uncertainty they felt.
“Guess me and Kairi were wrong to think you were just dozing off somewhere” Riku said getting up as he closed his eyes with a smirk. “Kairi’s gonna be rather upset that I beat her in our little race to find you...never though I would be the one to win it...” Riku said as he glanced up at the night sky. “She is going to truly smile once more....” Riku said softly with a gentle smile.

Sora was glad to hear Kairi was safe. How he just wanted to hug her, he missed her so much... Riku said they everyone was looking for him. "Well, How long has it been?" He crossed his arms thinking, being alone and constantly training would definitely mess with his perspective of time. Sora was stopped as Riku suddenly tugged at his cheeks. "Hey! Stop it!" Sora swatted at Riku, Sora did that to Riku before, did it really feel like that. "Riku cut it out!" He said. It was like old times on the island. Riku and Sora would go back and forward at each other constantly, this brought back memories, it felt... nice. Sora back away from Riku as he broke free from his pulling, rubbing his cheek softly.
Sora thought about it for a bit, "You know, I'm surprised you guys didn't find me sooner!" He chuckled. "You're slacking Master!" He teased Riku with a smile. Riku began... laughing? It spread to Sora as the boy laughed as well. "You haven't changed huh?" He leaned looking at every side of Riku as he sat on the ground.
"Hey! I'm not a lazy bum anymore!" Sora said defensively. He got frustrated as he crossed his arms stubbornly. "Smile once again?" He put his arms by his side and raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" Sora suddenly got really worried about her.

Everything about the one before him just confirmed that this was the Sora that he knew and grew up with. From the dorky carefree smile he would put on his face to the small little quips he would let out when the two were together, this was definitely Sora. “It’s been quite a long time since that fight against Xehanort” Riku said. They spent so long searching that Riku had been starting to lose hope. Now all that was left was to return him back to Kairi and his job was done...hopefully...
Being able to pull his cheeks like this, being able to tease each other and joke around just brought back a warm feeling of nostalgia. Riku couldn’t help but close his eyes and shake his head with a smirk at Sora’s quip about not finding him sooner. “looking after both you and Kairi is well above the paygrade of a Master so give me a break” Riku said with a chuckle. It certainly was a handful looking after the two, but a job he didn’t complain about. He was the big brother of the group, it was his job to keep them well and safe.
As he stood up and dusted off his pants, Riku continued to smirk as he heard Sora state he wasn’t as lazy as before, something Riku doubted quite a deal. “I’ll believe it when I see it” Riku said. The topic of Kairi was brought up and the smile on Riku’s face faded and he closed his eyes calmly. “Ever since the two of you returned to the island everyone was so happy...but then you disappeared right before our eyes. Kairi of course didn’t take it well. She was...depressed, saddened by your loss. It was hard to see” Riku said opening his eyes as a soft smile formed on his face. “But Kairi is strong, she is adamantly looking for you as we speak. Let’s not keep her waiting...” Riku said

Sora wasn't sure what he would do without Riku. The had saved the boy countless times, and Sora always wanted to repay the favor. Sora had been going from world to world, training, thinking of his friends constantly. It had felt like just yesterday Sora and Kairi were sitting on the island together. "I'm glad everyone else is okay. I can't wait to see them all!" He said cheerful, though... his smile turned to a frown rather quickly. He looked down at his shoes. He was lost in thought.
Sora's mood quickly shifted hearing Riku threw back. Sora chuckled in response. "Guess Master Yin Sid should give you a raise" Holding out his hand, his kingdom key formed from a small beam of light in his hand. "I'm on my way to being a master!" He said confidently, the blade soon dissipated into the same light that summoned it in the first place.
"Kairi..." He said sadly stepping back in disbelieve. That was horrible, Sora wanted to see Kairi's reaction to their reunion. "Riku... I wanna see Kairi but..." He paused at Riku's final statement. "I can't go back..." He spoke, it would likely come as a shock to Riku. "I... I don't want to, not yet!" The key-bearer looked up, a frown formed once again. "Everywhere I go... trouble seems to follow me, Kairi always gets roped into trouble when I'm around!" He balled up his fist. "I want to regain my lost strength so I can stop bad things from happening! I mean, without me everything seemed to be fine." He took a deep breath, this was his decision and he had to stick to it. "Please, Take care of Kairi for me" he went silent, he knew Riku wouldn't take this well, but Sora would stand his ground, backing away from Riku for just a moment.

Everybody was trying their best to get Sora back. Their hearts were connected to his in some way and his best friend seemed to be one that brought everyone together. The aftermath of the battle with Xehanort lead to everyone being together on the Destiny Islands. It was a grand time, but without Sora it wasn’t a complete victory. Perhaps with the return of Sora they could all finally celebrate together. The three of them had been separated for far too long and Riku was going to end that.
Sora made his intention of becoming a keyblade master known and Riku nodded at him in acknowledgement of his intention. “Don’t keep me waiting too long now, otherwise my lead will be too far for you to catch up” Riku said with a bit of a competitive smirk. The two of them always competed in everything and even though Riku usually won, Sora was always one step behind, never giving up in the slightest. Riku turned away as he was already preparing to get Sora home. He could only assume that Sora had probably just appeared in this world, it would explain his disappearance. Riku was planning on maybe asking him later on what had occurred, but Sora said something that made Riku turn back to face Sora.
“Sora...” Riku said as he listened to Sora speak on about why he couldn’t return. His own hands began to clench tightly shaking and immediately Riku took a step closer to Sora. “Sora, what are you talking about?! You’re talking nonsense! If anything happens we’ll face it together! Everybody is waiting for you!” Riku said gritting his teeth getting rather upset at his words. “Remember what I told you at the door to darkness?! I told YOU to take care of Kairi!” Riku said.

Riku had always been ahead of Sora. The two of them were always against one another, and Riku almost always won, he was the captain of their raft, first to leave the island, heck he was the one who was supposed to have Sora's keyblade. Sora was nervous right now, he had just said he didn't want to go back, he had no clue how Riku would respond to him. He gulped a bit as Riku turned away.
After just a few moments Riku faced him and walked forward. Sora retaliated, taking a step back. "Riku.." Sora copied something Riku said to him once before. "I didn't want you to find me!" He said clenching his fist. "Last time you all died because of me!" Back at the graveyard, the demon tide had taken them all-out, "We almost lost because of me!" Sora said adamantly in his decision. "Yeah, I remember! And look how that turned out! First, she gets kidnapped by the Organization and then she was killed by Xehanort..." He said in distress. "I don't want anything like that to happen again! Everything that happened was all my fault..." Sora said a tear rolling down his face. "I need to regain the strength I lost so that Kairi doesn't get hurt anymore," He said slowly. "Riku, I'm not going back yet, and you can't change my mind!" Sora had always been stubborn. "You've always been better than me, So you're more qualified to take care of her than me." Sora looked down at his feet. He had always been a bit jealous of Riku, ever since they were kids.

Riku’s hand was shaking by his side, but he did not raise his hand nor say a thing just yet. He merely looked on at the brown haired male before him with narrowed eyes. Listening to each word it turned out that Riku was wrong about Sora having just appeared in this world. It sounded like Sora had already been travelling about, purposely avoiding them. This revelation only made Riku’s fist clench tighter. Sora began to blame himself for everything that happened. He took all the blame, looked down upon himself and Riku couldn’t take it.
Riku figured that saving Kairi wasn’t the first time he used the power of waking to save somebody, he figured it ever since he began pondering why Sora disappeared. Young Xehanort also seemed to anticipate Sora’s disappearance as well, strengthening Riku’s belief as well. They all worried that they lost him for good, but here he was, avoiding them all.
When Sora finished his words Riku took a few step forwards and reached towards his best friend. His hand took grasp of Sora’s shirt and held it tightly as he pulled him closer to him, his teeth clenched tightly as he was not pleased in the slightest. “Me, Donald, Goofy, the King, KAIRI! All our friends…We’ve all been looking everywhere for you! We’ve all thought we lost you for good and all this time you’ve been avoiding us?!” Riku yelled. Perhaps he wasn’t one to talk as he too had been avoiding his friends at a time, but that was a different case. He avoided them because he had a job to do, he had to face the Organization in secret and he couldn’t face them when he looked like Ansem. Perhaps it was hypocritical of him, but he knew what going off alone seeking power led to and it angered him that Sora of all people would be the one saying all this.
“You’re not the only one who was there when she died! You’re not the only one that feels that feeling of failure! All that talk of your friends are your power and yet you’ve been disregarding their feelings?! Disregarding her?!” Riku said as he push his forward and let go. With that Riku calmly spread out his arm to the side and opened the palm of his hand. “I understand that you wish to do this alone, but I promised I would bring you back to Kairi…I'm not going to let you go without facing her!” Riku said as his keyblade formed in his opened palm, clenching it tightly as he took his usual battle stance. “And if you won’t come with me then I’ll make you!” Riku said.

Sora felt horrible, this whole situation was stressing him out. If this was hurting Riku, no telling how it would affect Kairi. Sora had been all over since his disappearance, starting in Shibuya he traveled to different worlds in search of strength, unaware the guardians were searching this hard for him. Sora was stronger than ever after the battle with Xehanort, however, he needed to make sure he was capable of handling any more threats that challenged them.
Sora was taken aback as the master grabbed his shirt, "R-Riku..." He said sadly, "You act like I don't want to see you guys!" He shouted back. "I just... I can't! I don't want any of you to get hurt because of me!" He yelled trying to get out of Riku's grasps, but with no avail. "YOU did the same thing you know... When you looked like Ansem! You were watching me and you never said anything!" The boy retaliated. Sora had his reasons and he couldn't let Riku win this one. He couldn't back down his stubbornness wouldn't let him.
Sora landed on his bottom after Riku shoved him. "When you feel how I do about Kairi... It's different!" Sora looked up at Riku, "I'm doing this FOR her!" Sora soon stood up and watched as Riku summoned his Braveheart. "I don't wanna fight you Riku! Shouldn't you support my decision, You know I would do the same if you wanted this!" It seemed like there was no talking Riku down. "ugh..." Sora soon summoned forth his keyblade, the Kingdom Key, it had seen him through countless fights. "Riku..." Sora said desperately, getting into his combat stance and watching his best friend closely. The two of them had fought side by side many times in the past, but never properly against one another. Sora grit his teeth and got ready, he had no intentions of letting Riku win this one.

Riku was upset to put it lightly. Riku could understand the desire to grow stronger. The feeling of failure was something that made one feel terrible, made one desire so much to ease that feeling and to make sure that failure would never happen. Riku understood that one didn’t have to rely on their friends all the time and that some things needed to be done alone, but Riku could not accept Sora’s reasoning.
“You’re right, I hid myself in shame after I became Ansem, I hid myself from you and Kairi, yet even then I wasn’t alone. I still had King Mickey and Namine to help me. They supported me and helped me my battle with the darkness.” Riku began to say. He was so grateful to the two for what they had done for him. They had given him a light that was able to guide him through the deepest darkness, but Sora couldn’t even face the one he truly cared about the most. “ Even though I wasn’t always there, I was still by your side. I followed you and aided you through your fight with the Organization in secret. Even though things may have turned hopeless, I still held faith in your abilities, I believed in the strength of your heart!” Riku let out as his brow furrowed as the grip upon his Braveheart tightened.
“And yet you don’t want us to get hurt because of you?” Riku said as he crouched slightly before suddenly he bolted forward towards his best friend, signalling the start to their fight. “DON’T BE RIDICULOUS!” Riku yelled as his feet dashed upon the ground towards Sora, closing the distance rather quickly as he rose his blade upwards. “We suffer a major loss and you take it all solely on yourself?!” Riku yelled as he tried to swing down in a vertical manner. Whether his blade was blocked or dodged, Riku would instantly follow up with a much stronger horizontal slash at Sora, the transition between the two movements rather quick and fast. “Are you looking down on us?! Unable to face us?!” Riku yelled as he swung

Sora watched his best friend closely. There was no telling what he would do. "Riku! You don't understand! This has nothing to do with any of you, this is about me!" He shouted back, his voice going to a somber tone at the end. His voice was shaky and nervous. "I know you guys support me! But I just... can't..." Looking down he would let out a heavy sigh. Riku was accosting him, but Sora had to keep his cool and stand his ground. Sora tuned Riku out, he wouldn't let his friend get into his head. Gritting his teeth, Sora planted his feet firmly, getting ready to fight.
Sora reacted quickly to Riku's sudden dash forward. "Because it is my fault Riku!" he shouted back. Sora quickly switched the keychain of his keyblade, his kingdom key changed appearances, taking the form the Wheel of Fate. Sora went for the block, he managed to block the downward slash. Sora, however, did not expect the upwards slash, causing the boy to fly backward, Sora quickly recovered his balance and landed on the ground. "I'm not! You're taking this way to far Riku!" Sora shouted back.
Riku had knocked Sora back a couple of feet, giving Sora a little bit of time to breathe, "Why do we have to do this?!" Sora shouted. he pointed his keyblade forward, "Freeze!" Sora shouted, launching an ice blast out of his keyblade. Regardless of whether or not it hit or not, Sora would use his flowmotion to slide across the trail of ice left behind. If he was able to reach the end of the rail, he would leap off of it. Using the momentum from the slide he would slam downwards towards Riku with his keyblade.

Perhaps Riku was overreacting about all this, perhaps he was going a bit too far, but he knew what he was doing. A keyblade master shouldn’t wield his key in anger, but there was only one who could make him react this way and he was standing before him. Sora was so adamant about his decision, standing by it despite the conflict it was causing between them. He felt so strongly about this, but Riku responded back with his own strong feelings. His reasoning wasn’t enough for Riku. Sora was taking the blame for something that he shouldn’t have. They all were all at that fight and they all knew the risks. He could understand that Sora was feeling a huge sense of guilt and there were even timed Riku felt that this was all his fault, but it was wrong to think of it like that. To think like that was to look down on everybody else’s strength, to believe that they couldn’t fight on their own. There was nothing wrong with searching for strength, but if done emotionally then it could lead to a downward path. Riku could tell, Sora was acting too rash and emotionally. Riku didn't say a thing as the fight continued. His strike was blocked but his subsequent strike struck much harder, knocking Sora back further. Riku shifted his stance upon the ground and narrowed his eyes as the Blizzaga spell was shot towards him. Pointing his own keyblade forward, a surge of flames began to form as he fired a Firaga at the freezing spell. The two spells would begin flying towards each other, cancelling each other out as a bunch of steam began to form and coat the area, but the keyblade master was ready for it. The moment the steam covered them Riku held out his hand and used Dark Shield to cover him. A simple Blizzaga spell was sure to be followed up with a followup attack. Riku hid in the steam to conceal that he was utilizing the shield and the moment that the blade made contact with the shield, Riku released the shield and immediately jumped, sending a hard kick at Sora's gut.
Actions:
- Riku casts Firaga to counter Blizzaga, causing steam to coat the area - Riku uses Dark Shield to block Sora's downward strike - Riku sends a kick at Sora's gut
Cooldown: Firaga: By pointing his keyblade forward, Riku fires a small ball of fire that turns into a massive explosion upon contact (3 post cooldown) Dark Shield: A small shield of darkness that Riku can form in front of himself to block moderate damaging attacks. (3 post cooldown)

Sora knew he couldn't hold back against Riku. He'd give it his all, regardless of whether it was his friend or not. Riku had canceled out Sora's blizzard with his fire, the steam covered the area. Sora was already high into the air, the steam made it almost impossible to see where Sora was going to strike. As Sora slammed down through the steam, Riku had erected a dark shield, his keyblade bashed against the shield, a good block by Riku. It caused Sora to stagger backward in the air. The two boys knew each other's moves all too well.
Sora watched as Riku leaped up to punish the boy with a kick. With a quick recovery, Sora would dash out of the way. He would land on the ground and take a deep breath. Gripping the Wheel of Fate tightly. It was time to transform, "Here we go!" Sora shouted, the keyblade he held shifted into a long halberd, Sora twirled it over his head, the boy's clothes shifted from a black color to a red color.
Sora ran after Riku, thrusting forward with the halberd, with this new weapon, Sora would have far greater range. If Sora's thrust would connect with Riku, Sora would quickly switch to his Twin Yo-Yos, he would throw the spiked Yo-Yos at Riku while flipping backward to distance himself while getting in an attack in. If his thrust missed, Sora would quickly try to recover and block a counter-attack.
Sora dodged Riku's kick

Sora thrust at Riku, if successful he would back flip while throwing Yo-Yo at Riku
