A veil of darkness blankets the sky of San Fransokyo while its people sleep. The streets grow quiet with only a few gusts of wind travelling through it's streets as rain begins to fall. However, even as dark as things may seem, the city stays alight. Lights from buildings, street lamps and bridges. From cell phones to street signs. Though tonight one light shines somewhat brighter among them. It last for mere seconds before fading away, leaving only an aging man behind as he steps out onto the streets.
After travelling briefly through Castle Oblivion, Eraqus had wondered where to begin looking for his students. However, he had no idea of what had happened since he had...passed on. So he had traveled through a Corridor of Light, choosing to visit several worlds until he found one that was familiar to himself. It wasn't exactly like he could simply return to the Land of Departure, changed as it was. And who knows, perhaps he would even reunite with it students if he was lucky enough.
This world seemed quite beautiful to him, if not a tad strange. Though it wasn't exactly his first time travelling in large places like this one. Making his way through the well lit city, he found it odd that not even one or two people were travelling at night. Though to him this was never without good reason. And the sheer fact that he wielded a keyblade meant only one thing to him as the healthy paranoia he had began to return to him. Perhaps this was the right place to start after all.

The streets of San Fransokyo proved to be dangerous at night. Most people figured out pretty fast that it was better to be inside, rather than out and wandering about. Most people were sleeping off work or school anyway, so it ended up working out that there was an "unspoken curfew". Still, some were out wandering... Some Humans, and others very much not so. Heartless prowled in the dark, and they were at their most numerous in these hours. Still, this was one of the slower nights even then. It was mostly just a relatively quiet night within the city.
Though eventually, a familiar sound would ring out and break the silence. The opening of Corridors of Darkness favored by the Heartless. Three of them, to be exact. They were quickly identified as the little blue Soldiers. It seems that they had taken notice of Eraqus as well. Though such weak creatures were hardly intimidating, it was clear that they were going to seek out a fight with the man -- Only for a timely intervention by yet another party arriving on the scene. They first appeared as a blur of red, striking the lead Soldier with what appeared to be a blade of some variety.
They halted after the attack, finally coming into focus. They were wearing a red cloak, and that weapon they were using -- That was a Keyblade. There was no mistaking it. Without missing a beat, the Keyblade Wielder would turn, striking each of the Soldiers remaining, and felling them just as she did to the first. After that, the warrior would rest their Keyblade on their shoulder.
"Hm... Not coming out as often, but they're still coming...", the figure would mutter to themselves, now clearly identified as a young girl. Given the sound of her voice and her general stature, she was unlikely to be any older than Ventus. Well. It seems like the ball was in Eraqus's court now, as the young Keyblade Wielder before him seemed unaware of his presence. At the very least, it seems as though she wasn't trying to be rude, she just genuinely hadn't seen him as a result of going after those Heartless...------ Master Eraqus Actions: 1 - Strike Dive @ Soldier 2 - Basic Attack @ Soldier 3 - Basic Attack @ Soldier Cooldowns: Strike Dive (0/1)

Just as he thought. Eraqus knew that the heartless could never resist the presence of a keyblade wielder for long. However before he could turn to deal with them, he saw a brief flash of red. A few seconds later and the two remaining heartless were gone without a trace of their darkness left.
"I'm afraid that's to be expected. Darkness has hardly a concept for things such as 'attrition' and 'numbers'." he said, turning to face the girl. "No matter the place nor time, they will always appear.". It was a sad truth that Eraqus had to admit. The keyblade wielders had always faced foes with near infinite numbers before. "Then again, many who've wielded that weapon long before you have come out victorious before and it's something I'm glad to see still lives on." . Eraqus would turn to Vaneera, stretching out his hand "You have my thanks for defeating them. My name is Eraqus.". Odd as some worlds were to him at times, he was glad to see that keyblade wielders had continued to exist, despite the Heartless' constant appearances. Furrowing his brow, a question had to come to his mind. "If you don't mind me asking; how much about this do you know? I'm afraid that I've been a bit out of things for some time.".

Eraqus opted to just begin conversation with the red-haired girl straight away. Vaneera would turn, a little surprised that someone was walking around at night like this. It was pretty dangerous, and most locals knew that anymore. Though... Hmm. As she looked him over, she could pretty easily tell that he wasn't a local; not many people dressed like that in this day and age. Though it did remind her of someone that she met before... Maybe she should ask about that in due time. The way he spoke also made her think of eras long gone. It's not like he looked THAT old, but...
She could tell that he was a very experienced warrior. Just from the way he carried himself, and his knowledge regarding the Heartless and Keyblades. Perhaps he was even a Keyblade Master. "Ah! Sorry, I kinda got a little wrapped up in my work there...", she apologizes, dismissing her Keyblade and bowing politely to him. Something about his presence commanded a level of respect, and she intended to show it until she had been given reason to act otherwise. Soon after, she would straighten herself out and listen to what he had to say.
Eventually, he would extend a hand for a handshake, a gesture which Vaneera would accept. "Oh, don't worry about it! I've been on patrol like this for awhile. The nice thing is that doing it so often means they don't show up during the day.", she would mention, also noting that he introduced himself rather politely. So perhaps it was time for her to do the exact same, and then address his questions about the state of things.
"Well first; I'm Vaneera, and it's nice to meet you!", she would get that introduction out of the way. All she could piece together is that something happened to Eraqus, as he wasn't caught up on everything that had happened as of late. "Well, I can only really tell you about my own world right now.", she would admit.
"But I managed to acquire my Keyblade after extensive training. After that, the Heartless just started showing up more than ever, ever since that happened... I also ran into some other Keyblade Wielders! One even became my Master!", though she wasn't going into a lot of detail yet, she was rather proud of the fact that she had already found someone to train her in the art of the Keyblade. It was a lot better than having to teach herself. Even if Skuld could get a little intense about some lessons...
Though, the reason why she hadn't mentioned all of that is because she really wanted to ask something of Eraqus. There was something about his clothes, and his general posture. It kept calling up memories of the other Keyblade Wielder she had met.
"Speaking of which... One of the Keyblade Wielders that I met... You kinda remind me of them. I hope that's not too presumptuous of me, but do you know someone named Terra?"
Vaneera asked, evidently unaware of the history between those two.------ Master Eraqus Cooldowns: Strike Dive (1/1)

For a moment, all time seemed to stop for Eraqus as his thoughts turned to his student "Terra...?". His eyes shifted downward in thought, a regretful look on his face. "Yes, I know him. He's a student of mine." he said, an inaudible sigh of relief running through the aged master. "Please, if you know anything about where he is I'd be beyond grateful.".
To be honest, Eraqus shouldn't have been too surprised. Terra was always the toughest of his students when it came to raw physical prowess. If any threat came towards him, he was usually the type to power through it. From the sound of things, not much has changed with him. But the whereabouts of Ventus and Aqua pressed even more on his mind. Terra was apparently fine, but what about them?
And even more so, what about Xehanort? Considering that things were back to the way they were, it was obvious that his plans had failed, but if Eraqus knew him half as well as he thought, then he knew that Xehanort would have a slew of other plans up his sleeve. With his previous one, he knew what he intended, but now...now he wasn't so sure.
Rubbing his chin in thought, Eraqus looked up at Vaneera again with a flicker of resolve in his eyes "If you don't know then that's alright. Just knowing that he's safe is enough. No matter which way I look at it, I feel that I'll benefit more if I stay here. For a little while, at least.".

Vaneera couldn't help but flinch in surprise when Eraqus mentioned that he was Terra's Master. This guy... He wasn't just some random passerby, then! He was undoubtedly a Keyblade Master, and he had to be pretty darn strong too! Terra was... Something else. He had some crazy power and skill with that Keyblade, so she could only imagine just how strong this Master had to have been. "Whoa... I wasn't expecting to hear that you're his Master!", she had to express her surprise vocally. Or rather, she couldn't help it. It just slipped out.
She coughs softly, clearing her throat and regathering her composure. Just in time too, so that she could hear his question about Terra's whereabouts. "Hmm? Well, he comes and goes... But he's been helping me defend my own world. The next time I see him, I'll let him know that you're here! I guess you two have a lot of catching up to do, from how you're talking...", she would then respond. It was hard to imagine this kind of meeting taking place. But here it was, happening for real. She silently wondered if Skuld might have been a student of his as well... Hmm, come to think of it. Didn't Terra recognize her?
As she thought that over... "Sorry, I know I'm kinda prying into a lot of information here. But I was wondering if you also had a female student? Her name is Skuld.", she queries. This was a rare opportunity to learn a bit about Skuld if Eraqus really did train her! Of course, there was no real guarantee that her assumption was even right. But she couldn't help but wonder about it all, considering she managed to correctly guess that he had some relation to Terra... Though her guess was more along the lines of "his father" rather than "his master".
There was also the matter of Eraqus probably not having a place to stay, so... "Oh... I should also help you find a place to stay. The city is pretty big and unforgiving if you don't have shelter.", she then mentions. Although Eraqus could probably take care of himself, she at least wanted to extend the offer, so he could get his bearings in a safe place, instead of having to fend for himself on an unknown world with no one to back him up.
Still, if he could fight anywhere near Terra's level... He'd probably do just fine even then. He was all kinds of crazy strong, so what was his Master like...?------ Master Eraqus

A hint of a smile crept across Eraqus' face at Vaneera's surprise. While humility was important to him at most times, even he had his moments of pride when it came to being recognized as the master that he was. Though when she mentioned that Terra had been coming here for quite a while, the idea of travelling somewhere-else left his mind in an instant. It seems that he'd gained quite a bit of luck since returning to the living.
"Much." he replied to her as she asked him about he and Terra meeting again. Eraqus wouldn't say it outright, but he had more than his share of anxiety over seeing his students again. Terra and Ventus especially. The last moments of his old life had still clung to his mind with a grip so strong that a wild animal would admire it. And the guilt along with it. Facing Terra and Ventus again would, without a doubt in Eraqus' mind, be beyond difficult.
Though for Vaneera's next question, Eraqus would have to think back a bit. "Hmm....I'm sorry, but I don't think I've met someone named "Skuld" before. But I am curious about the other keyblade wielders that have come since my time.". Ugh! Eraqus could practically feel his hairs graying after talking like that. Had he really grown so old already?
Nevertheless, these problems would have to wait until he could find a place to stay. Thankfully, Vaneera offered to give him some help with that. The 'seemingly' old master would give her a nod and go along with her. "If it isn't too much to ask, could it be somewhere out of the way? I prefer a more quiet place than most.".

Well, Eraqus confirmed that they had a lot of things to talk about. So the sooner she could find Terra again and let him know where Eraqus was, the better! Still, all things in due time, and in the right order. She should probably check with Terra first and make sure that Eraqus actually IS his Master. But Vaneera wasn't about to be rude and question the validity of the story either. He looked the part and she didn't think he had a reason to lie. Plus there was another thing that made her believe that she could trust him. Namely, his reaction to the question about Skuld. If he knew her as well, THEN it might be a little weird, and more than a coincidence. For the moment, her doubts on the subject were cleared and she'd treat him with the due respect he seemed to deserve.
"Well, I suppose I couldn't expect you to know *every* Keyblade Wielder I've encountered so far!", she'd admit with a smile. "But, as you can see, I have my own Keyblade! I actually got it pretty recently. Master Blacknore is the one that trained me enough so I could get my Keyblade... But Skuld is the one that's actually teaching me how to be a true Keyblade Master!", she spoke with some obvious eager pride in her voice. Although it gave off the impression that this was the life she was raised into, which was... A bit odd. The subtlety there was small, but noticeable if one paid attention. Less that she got a Keyblade at some point in her life, and like her entire life was revolving around acquiring the Keyblade, and living up to the expectations with it.
Whether or not Eraqus picked up on that was yet to be seen, of course. Regardless, it was time to show him around the city, and more importantly find him a safe place to stay. As Eraqus expressed his request for a quiet place that was out of the way, Vaneera had the perfect spot in mind. With a nod, she'd begin leading the way! "Quiet and out of the way! Well, first thing's first, since you're a Keyblade Master, you'd be welcome at Blacknore's facility. But if you want somewhere nice and quiet... I know a place that I recently helped out with a Heartless problem, and they said that if I ever needed anything, I should ask."
She would give a quick rundown of the options. "I'd still have to ask whether or not you could stay until you get your bearings. But it's an option if you would rather not stop off at the facility.", she then adds. Understanding that Eraqus might prefer the luxury of choice in this regard. "Beyond that... I might be able to pay for a room at a hotel or something. But I can't guarantee it'd be for a very long stay. Or a very good hotel.", she finishes, growing a little sheepish towards the end.
She had a lot of advantages, but wealth wasn't one of them, unfortunately. Still, they could hopefully figure something out!------ Master Eraqus

The options that Vaneera had given Eraqus ran through his mind, letting him consider things carefully. While the Blacknore facility sounded interesting, he felt that something wasn't quite right. Normally when the word "facility" came to mind, "factory" and "production" weren't far behind. It was only a hunch, but not one that he would ignore. Though he would make a mental note to check out this "facility" later.
Now the place that she'd helped before sounded the nicest out of the three options to him. A random hotel room seemed...okay on paper, but it was more of a wild card compared to a dedicated place to stay. Sooner or later, Eraqus would stop his mental pacing and turn to Vaneera again.
"As interesting as your facility sounds, I think I'll be more comfortable in that place you'd helped. Please, lead the way.". A facility though? Eraqus would wonder if there were more like them. Depending on how this one would operate...this wouldn't bode well. He was more used to a traditional structure with a single master with only a handful of students at most. But on a larger scale? He couldn't shake that their students could be missing out on something important. Or maybe it was just him being stubborn. No matter the case, all would be understood in time.

It looked like Eraqus was pretty deep in thought... Vaneera could garner that much, but not more than that. It was hard to tell whether or not he had good or bad things to say about the options he had been given. But nonetheless, she would patiently await his response. Eventually, the old Master would mention that while Blacknore's facility sounded nice, he was more interested in comfort for now. Something that the fledgling Keyblade Wielder could understand entirely as she gives a calm nod.
"No problem! Master Blacknore would be really curious to meet another person wielding a Keyblade, so he'd probably ask you all sorts of questions.", she admits. Still, he chose the place that Vaneera helped out before; that was fine! With their destination decided, the red-haired girl would lead the way at a calm pace. Fortunately no other Heartless cropped up for the time-being, though just from how Vaneera was acting, glancing around every so often... You could tell that she was used to patrolling alone and dealing with them, always being on the watch for those lurking shadows...
In any case, once they arrived at the quaint house, Vaneera would knock on the door, prompting a girl of young age -- probably in her teenage years -- to answer. She had long blue hair, and a very collected expression on her face.
"Yes? What is it, Vaneera?", the seeming owner of this house would ask.
"Hey, Yachiyo! I was wondering if you could help out a friend of mine. See, they don't have a place to stay... And I know you have a lot of guest rooms here in this place.", Vaneera explains.
Yachiyo would open the door a bit more, casting a glance to Eraqus. From the look on her face alone, it was hard to tell what she was doing beyond gauging him. Eventually, the silence is broken by her. "That's fine by me."
Though still hard to tell what she was thinking, it seemed like she didn't have any objections to allowing Eraqus to stay. On that note, she'd open the door and allow the pair to enter.
"Come on in, you two. I'll make some tea."
Vaneera decides to accept the gracious offer, and Yachiyo waits until Eraqus enters the house. Once he has, she closes the door.
"Make yourself at home.", the teenage girl states, and then makes her way into the kitchen.
Vaneera smiles and takes a seat on one of the many chairs -- there was also a couch available. The house itself was finely furnished, and seemed rather large for just one girl to be living in, which is probably why she offered no real objections to someone staying over.
"I'm not sure if this kind of place is really different from what you're used to, but... Yachiyo will make sure that you have a good home as long as you don't mind helping out here and there.", Vaneera would then state to Eraqus.______ Master Eraqus

Once inside, the home seemed a tad roomier than needed for just one person. A few empty shelves, a few chairs and a couch here and there. Little details that tipped the master off about things like this. Perhaps his arrival here could give this woman some needed company. Still, Eraqus had a few theories running through his mind as he sat down.
Roommates, children or perhaps a partner of some kind. He wondered which one it could have been. She could have just bought the place as it was, but he doubted someone would take a home this big if it were just them. It would be unnecessary. Eraqus, however, could identify with her on that. After Ventus and his other students left, he remembered how empty it felt without the sounds of laughter and practice filling the space.
"It can't be helped. In any case, the place looks comfortable." he answered back, snapping out of his flash of nostalgia before asking to see the room. A small balcony from a good height was definitely a plus. The bed looked nice too! Depending on how long he'd be staying here, it could be decorated as well. A little something to give the room some life. Either way, it wasn't a bad start at all.

Eraqus seemed to be adjusting well to the large house, though it also seemed to push him into a thoughtful state as they waited for tea. He only seemed to snap out of it once Vaneera expressed her hopes that this would be an agreeable living situation for him. His choice of words implied that it might not have been the most ideal, but at least the place looked comfortable.
"Heh, yeah... I imagine you'd prefer having your own place. But look at it this way; it could just be until you're back on your feet!", the young Keyblade Wielder offered. And soon after he asked to see his room. Since Yachiyo was still working on the tea, Vaneera decided to take point on this and show the guest room that he was most likely to get.
It was on the upper floor, and it was certainly a room that could be made into one's personal slice of home with enough time given to accomplish the task. And he seemed to appreciate the view from the balcony as well. So, all passing marks from what Vaneera could tell! There was just one other thing she wanted to address while she had the time. He may have been a Master, but she was eager to prove herself and be useful.
"By the way, you won't have to worry about the Heartless poking around. I'm pretty thorough with the patrols around the city. But if any give you trouble, Yachiyo knows my number and I can come take care of it real quick!"
Well, she certainly seemed to take pride in her work, if nothing else. Though one might find it a little concerning that it was all being handled by a girl this young... Master Eraqus [/div]

He chuckled a bit at that last line before leaning against the balcony. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to laugh, but I'm quite capable as it is." he explained. It was rare that he sang his own praises, but he only being factual. He'd seen his own fair share of battle throughout the decades. However, Eraqus' thoughts turned to something else i the meantime.
"Hmmm perhaps I could join you on your patrols? I could get back into the swing of things, you might be able to pick up a few lessons and I might run into Terra at some point." he offered. He might have been missing his three pupils, but perhaps handing down knowledge to a few others wouldn't be a bad idea. It could also be a good way to explore the city as well, it definitely seemed like it had a lot to offer.
