[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Ravus could make out the girl, even though his expression was swarmed with darkness. She looked so scared, but her eyes were filled with fear.. for him. Seeing this for the first time was a real shock to her and Ravus was not blaming her for it. All of her actions made complete sense to him. When he had first seen a Demon when he was a child, he was frozen in fear as well, having nightmares about them for a long time. What this sickness turned people into was just... horrible.
"Sunlight, you got it. Follow me!" Rina had snapped out of her panic for a moment, thanks to Ravus pleading words. She was running into the hallway, trying to show him the way outside how it seemed. It was hard to move for Ravus, but he managed to fight the scourge, taking shaky steps as he walked outside the room, stopping at the door frame to hold onto it for a moment. His eyes were clouded, but he suddenly saw something bright somewhere in front of him, Rina's voice reaching through. "Come on Ravus. I've got just the thing for you."
She was at the end of the hallway, but it was all a complete mess in front of his eyes. What he could make out though, was the light she had created to guide him. It was even way to bright for him, but he tried to ignore this stinging, clinging onto it with his eyes like it was a sign of hope. Every step in her direction felt like an eternity. Ravus didn't want to believe he was turning into a demon. Ardyn had done this to him and send him out into the stars to continue the work of this illness for him... there was no other explanation.
What have I done.. to deserve this...?
Something entered his mind, whispering words of evil into his head. He stumbled, holding onto a nearby shelve, his metallic hand he had used to catch himself scratching down the wood. He was starting to mutate from it, his skin showing sickly looking black veins moving up his face and taking part of it. He was so close to the stairs... He groaned, shaking his head violently as he tried to focus back on the girl that was still looking at him with worry, walking down the stairs slowly to continue to show him the way. He closed his eyes for a moment, opening them up again slowly.
How strange... Everything was so dark and hurt, but the light was suddenly becoming so much more visible, someone seeming to hold it and trying to guide him. He stared at the image for a moment. A light of hope...
Lunafreya. Was that her?
The black trail he left behind him was smoking, his metallic arm being taken by the scourge as well, turning into some sort of claw. He can do it.. He has to move on. He has to try!
For his sister.
He managed to push himself away from the shelve and up the stairs. As he was close to the door, he could hear the scourge hissing at him, telling him to stop and trying to make his body do as it pleased. He struggled for a moment, before he screamed, throwing himself against the door and smashing it open, his body falling right onto the roof and into the sunlight or Rina's little garden she had up there.
Immediately his body would start to smoke, the scourge and him screaming out in agony, feeling the burning touch of the daylight on them. It felt like his body was completely set on fire and he rolled from side to side, trying to make it stop, or at least the scourge tried to. Ravus however used his human arm to hold onto a nearby stone elevation in the garden close to the mid, were Rina had a spot for sunbathing. The sickness seemed to screech as it attempted to make him move back into the shadows, but the daylight was to strong for it. It just burned out of his body and skin, leaving him in the middle of the garden like nothing had happened. Ravus was on the ground, sighing in relief when the sun finally stopped to burn him and only left a comforting warmth on his skin.
Carefully, he tried to sit up, looking down at his shaking hands. Everything as gone.. he was okey now. “Thank.... the Astrals.”
He took one more deep breath, before he would turn to look at Rina, his face rather pale but everything else seeming to be okey now. "Rina.. are you arlight? Did any of the scourge get on you....?"

Rina shouted in surprise as Ravus picked up speed as he went up the stairs and Rina barely made it out the door and onto the patio, before Raus came barreling out behind her. Ravus fell to the ground as he came out into the Light and almost instantly began to scream and writhe in pain along the gray stone. He was seemingly in agony as the sun ate away at the scourge. Rina watched with her mouth agape in horror as Ravus continued to thrash. The woman dropped to her nearby, clasping her hands tight in her lap. Unshed tears misted in her eyes and she was at a loss with what else she could do for him. All she could do was wait. And then it was over, almost as quickly as it began. Rina sucked a shaky breath in, completely unaware that she had been holding it. She rocked forward on her knees, hands hovering uncertainly in the air for a moment, before falling back into her lap. When Ravus finally looked over and asked Rina if she were okay and if she had been touched by the scourge, she shook her head in response. " No...I'm okay. Just shaken. That was scary." Unsure if she were overstepping bounds that may have been lain but not addressed, Rina raised her hand to set it on top of Ravus'. She sent a small burst of healing magic towards him, hoping that he would be soothed from this trauma. Clambering back to her feet, she held out that same hand to help Ravus up. She pointed over to a cafe like table that was shaded and tucking into the corner of the roof. " Have a seat. I'll get us some tea." ------------------------------------- A short time and a couple trips later Rina had finally returned to take a seat herself. The first trip she had brought with an old porcelain tea service filled with a brew of her own making and a breadbasket filled with some muffins and pastries. She poured a cup for Ravus and edged it to him. " Drink. It'll make you feel better. I drink it after my nightmares...It'll help." Grabbing a muffin, Rina has made her second trip into the house and down to her study. It was a room that was both large and small. Quaint was a better word. Bookshelves covered opposite walls and there was a desk in the middle of the room that was also covered in books and parchment. Grabbing a couple of old tomes, sticking some old maps under her arm, and shoving the muffin in her mouth Rina went back to the roof. She sat the books and maps beside her and crumpled into the chair. Finishing her muffin and sipping some tea, Rina gestured to the books. " You have questions, and hopefully I have answers." [attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Ravus had been in pure terror when the scourge had taken over him, but now he was suddenly so calm. Maybe it was acceptance finally reaching him, now that he knew that the scourge was really in him but that he was not lost yet. When he had arrived here, everything still seemed like reality. The longer he stayed with Rina, the more he had thought that he was dreaming after all, but this situation has shaken him awake again. There was no denying it anymore. He felt a touch on his hand, head turning to look at Rina next to him. Seemed like he had spaced out there for a moment, which was understandable after this traumatic experience. She was soothing him with a bit of her magic and kind words, trying to give him some comfort. He took her hand, carefully standing up with her help, before he would watch her.
Have a seat. I'll get us some tea."
He couldn't even answer, before she vanished into the house again. Ravus quietly stood there for a moment speechless, before he sighed and moved to the chair, sitting down with a sigh. Ravus patiently waited for Rina's return, taking a look at her garden in the mean time. It was just a small roof-garden, but the smell of flowers was actually pretty soothing to the prince. His eyes softened, while he watched them move in the soft afternoon breeze. Rina came back, setting something on the table he was sitting at. The smell of freshly brewed tea... what a coincidence.
"Drink. It'll make you feel better. I drink it after my nightmares...It'll help."
Yes, a cup of tea really sounded wonderful right now. He nodded at her, watching her vanish into the house again. The commanders eyes wandered down to the cup, his hand carefully taken it. It smelled nice and it didn't seem to be brand he knew. Well if he wasn't in Eos anymore, that surely made sense. Another sigh, before he would carefully take a sip. It tasted sweet and not too bitter. Not a brand he would call his favorite since he was pretty picky with these kinds of things, but that didn't matter much right now. He was just happy he had something to calm his nerves with.
Ravus had already emptied half of his cup when Rina returned and sat down with him now, having brought some things to look at and explain everything he might want to ask. Setting down his cup, he would reach for one of the books with his metallic hand, carefully flipping it open to look it over. He quietly studied the pages for a moment, looking at a star map next. “So... from what I can tell... every star is it's own world?”, he finally said, looking up at Rina with a raised eyebrow, before he would look back at the book again that was in front of him.
“Hmm... The sickness you experienced is called 'The Star-scourge”. Legends says it came to Eos with a comet. So.. somewhere from among the stars.” He tabbed his finger on the book that showed a picture of a heartless. “Can you tell me anything about these beasts? I remember that the place I first came to... it was swarmed with them. They are mentioned in most of these books at least once.”

Rina waited patiently as Ravus began to examine through the books and the maps. Pouring herself some tea to sip and lighting a cigarette to smoke she sat quietly until Ravus began to ask his questions. “ So... from what I can tell... every star is it's own world?” Rina nodded slowly, blowing some smoke into the sky, trying to choose her next words carefully. " Yes. Stars, worlds, planets, realms. Generally speaking they can all mean the same thing, with some variations and differences. It all really depends on where you are from and if the walls of your world are fading or gone completely. In a perfect universe each world would be closed off from the others and its inhabitants would never know that anywhere else even existed." Rina took a quick drag and began to flip forward a few pages into the book that was in front of Ravus. She pointed out a drawn image of a small, black creature with yellow orbs for eyes. " It's because of them." " This is a Shadow. It's a part of a dark group called The Heartless. They devour hearts of people and worlds alike and like to cause chaos and havoc. For years, decades they have been breaking down the walls that keep us separated and destroying worlds in the process. When the walls are broken down it makes it easier for us to get from one place to another. Some worlds are quite close together, others are on the outskirts of the Universe." Rina tossed away her spent cigarette into an empty flower pot and placed one parchment map on top of the other, waving her hand across so that both layers would meld together seamlessly so that two maps appeared as one. Rina pointed to the location in the middle of the map. " We are here. Radiant Garden. Eos is here." She pointed to a world far across the map that had very little surrounding it. " Eos could have went its whole entire existence without its inhabitants knowing that there was anything else in the Universe. But here you are, Ravus. You must have fell through a crack or something...the walls around Eos must be weakened." Rina traced her hand from Eos back to Radiant Garden and from Radiant Garden back towards Eos but stopping on a world that was in between them. " And the Scourge...I've never seen anything like it but I don't doubt it came from somewhere else. Something like that happened here, my second home." She tapped the world once. " The Calamity, Jenova. It fell to the Planet and caused a lot of problems." She sipped on her tea, a slight frown on her face as she continues to look at the map, only looking back up when Ravus inquired more about the Heartless. " They're mentioned in all of these book because they can be found nearly everywhere. They're especially a menace in this region." She pointed back to Radiant Garden on the map and all of the surrounding celestial bodies. " They come in all flavors and and there's rumors that some are so strong that they can walk, talk, and think! Usually they're just mindless and vicious. And once they have you they'll do their best to drag you down into the Darkness." Rina rubbed her hand over a jagged, shiny scarred line on her chest that seemed to ache as she spoke about it. The scar went across her heart. " Once they get a taste, they'll never ever stop. Once they've literally dug their claws in..." Rina shuddered and almost like a nervous reflex put another cigarette to her lips, before putting it back in the case. She tucked her hands under her legs, so she wouldn't pick it back up. Her voice was quiet when she spoke, but there was a slight tremor in her tone. " Obviously I lived, but the Darkness changed me. Forever. I'm always scared and always tempted. The small Heartless won't come near me, almost like they're afraid. But the big ones? And the one that's on the inside?" Rina cursed to herself and put the cigarette to her lips and lit it, mumbling a soft apology. She looked sadly at Ravus, their information session turning somber. " The one on the inside? She's relentless." Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Ravus quietly sat in his chair now, listening to everything Rina would explain him now, not stopping her once as she went on about worlds, using maps of the stars and everything else she mentioned. He just looked at the material she used, nodding here and than to signal he was still keeping up with what she told him. To see how big the universe was and how far away from home he seemed to be.. it really seemed unreal, like a dream, but he had already learned the hard way that this was not one of them. This was the reality... he had tried to deny it before, so all he could do now is try to understand as much as possible about all of this to move on.
He took a sip of his tea when she started to mention the heartless, Ravus almost choking on it when he saw the image of what she called a 'Heartless'. This was one of the creatures that attacked him in that dark realm he had woken up in. So.. these creatures were the plague of many stars? The mention about the wall weakening... it made sense, actually. Eos had been falling to the scourge more and more so the borders could have broken from it, allowing things to go in and out from beyond their star.
Rina would share some informations about her home and backstory with him next, telling him she knew something similar to the curse he had. Planet yes? He took a mental note from the map where that star was written in. Maybe he could.. go there somehow? Who knows...
The last part of her story made him narrow his eyes for a moment though. “.... a darkness inside of you?” He looked at her chest for a moment while she seemed to experience discomfort from something. The prince couldn't help but wonder what she had gone through already.
Taking the last sip of his tea, he would place the cup on the saucer, leaning back into the chair, studying the map one more time. “I am sorry to hear that you have to struggle with such darkness yourself. It is almost hard to believe that one with such powers could suffer from evil having a hold on them.”
His heterocromic eyes would scan the card once more, the man sighing slightly. “Rina, I have meet these creatures before. They were the ones that injured me.” He pointed at the image of the heartless from the book. “When I woke up, I was in a dark place.. they were everywhere. Maybe it was their nest. Sadly I don't know how to get back there... and to be honest, I'd rather not go inside this realm again without an army to fight these beasts.” Ravus clicked his tongue, filling up his cup again. “So.. how do I leave this world?”

Still feeling slightly anxious about letting it slip about her inner struggles, Rina was happily surprised by the kindness and concern in Ravus' voice as he expressed how sorry he was about Rina's plight. A small smile twitched at her lips and she spun her teacup slowly around its saucer. If only he knew just how deep her sorrow ran, and how she tried so hard to act like everything was okay. Rina's smile forcibly grew and she shrugged away her nervous feelings. " That means a lot, Ravus. It really does. But to be honest...I think this fight inside of me is why I have all of these powers. Yes, I've trained my mind and body to be stronger, I could probably perform good magic on my own, and I pack a hell of a punch when I have to. But I don't think I would have been made like this without the Darkness. I've tried to ignore it but..." Rina held out her hand and made a small orb of light appear in her palm. It glowed brilliantly for a moment before a dark purple haze began to feather around the edges. " I can't ignore it. I don't want to ignore it. It's a part of me." She lowered her hand back to the table and the orb dissipated from view. Silence drifted back around the pair and Rina picked at a pastry. While she picked Ravus began to tell about his encounter with the Heartless and how he had been attacked and injured by them. He also explained to her about being placed into the darkness and how he really didn't want to return. Rina didn't blame him. " Sounds like you were dropped into the Realm of Darkness. Heartless are abundant there. That's how you got here to me...but how did you get there in the first place? And how did you get out?" Rina was tapping her lip in thought as Ravus refilled his teacup. “ So.. how do I leave this world?" Her eyebrows raised in surprise. He wanted to leave? She didn't blame him for that either. " There's only one way out. Come here." Rina stood and walked to the opposite of the roof, leaning over the gray stone, and looking at something below them. She had an almost devious smile and a glint in her eye that was almost like excitement as she turned to look back at Ravus. " Not afraid to fly are you?" Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] The commander quietly watched her and listened. His words seemed to have reached Rina more than he had anticipated, the girl seeming charmed by his worry. A soft shade of red would form on his cheeks, his head turning away, trying to hide the light blush. He.. had not meant it in that way. That was a little embarrassing to the commander. Her words about the darkness in her reminded him of the scourge in him, however. She had accepted the darkness and decided not wanting to ignore it anymore. It was a trait that he himself would like to have as well, but all of this still seemed to fresh and accepting this curse just.... he didn't want to accept to have it in him. He'd rather find a way to get rid of it as soon as possible.
His eyes darted down to the pastries in on the table, the man seeming to debate if he should take one or not, but to be honest, he really didn't feel like eating after the shock from earlier. He could still taste that black liquid in his mouth and only the tea could really help wash it away for now. Realm of Darkness? So that is how that Nest was called? “I don't really know how I got there. I just woke up in it after I... well...” Ravus sighed and shook his head. “I might tell you later...”
Rina suddenly stood up after his question, the man raising an eyebrow as she walked over to the other side of the roof, seeming like she wanted to show him something. Afraid of flying? Did she have a ship of her own? Ravus stood up, moving next to her. “I am not. You would be surprised if you knew what I have been flying before. You have an airship, I assume? I don't see how a airship can get me of this-” He went quiet however when he saw that strange vehicle there. He slowly raised his eyebrow again, seeming to check if this was really what it seemed to be. “... that is not an airship. I.. have no idea what I am looking at, actually.” He seemed rather irritated by the sight of a gummi-ship.

As Ravus walked towards her she tucked that bit of information into her brain. She most definitely was intrigued as to how Ravus ended up on this world and was fully prepared to pester him until he divulged that story. On the flipside she knew that questioning someone often led into that person asking questions themselves. She would have to be careful in making sure that she herself was ready to divulge on her past. There were lots of skeletons and ghosts in that graveyard and some she did not want to disturb. She came out of her reverie as Ravus finally reached her. He was explaining to her that he wasn't afraid of flying and made it sound like he was a pilot himself. An airship, huh? He was right an airship wouldn't get them far on this world. Badly suppressing a grin she waited for him to take a look at her Gummi ship. As his head lifted back up to look at her, the look of annoyance he shot at her sent her into giggles. She tried to control herself as he looked even more irritated, but she couldn't help herself. “... that is not an airship. I.. have no idea what I am looking at, actually.”Bouncing happily on her toes, she went to Ravus' other side and hopped onto the stone, taking a precarious seat and pointed down at the black spacecraft. "No, no. Not an airship. This isn't for travel over land. This is to travel between worlds, Ravus. This is a Gummi ship. It's made of special materials that make it possible to go from place to place. She'll get us to where we need to be." Rina clapped her hands together. " So! What do you say? Road trip? I can try to take you home? Or wherever you want. We can go into town for provisions, maybe get you some clothes." She scrunched her nose for a minute, looking almost uncomfortable. "I'd let you go through what I've got, but the hubby wa-is not as tall as you." She shook her head and stepped back to the ground. " Probably wouldn't fit. Anyway...let me know what you want to do. I'll help you anyway that I can." She gave him an honest smile. This sure as hell was strange and not how she thought she would spend her time, but the girl had never been able to pass up on people needing help. Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Well, it had the shape of one would call a 'spaceship' but for Ravus it looked more like a child's take on a airship that was big enough to carry someone. But physically speaking, this thing didn't really look like it was made for space-travel. Rina seemed to think differently, the girl suddenly over-excited to show him the vehicle and take him on a ride. She started blabbering about a roadtrip, getting him clothes and some gibberish he didn't really understand.
He had absolutely NO idea what she meant with that hubby part, but he didn't really want to question it right now, the whole situation just getting him more confused as he already was. He went down to the ship, knocking on the outside with his hand to check the material. “I would think you are either trying to make fun of me or try to kill me... but both wouldn't make much sense after you saved me this morning.”, he mumbled. Ravus sighed, massaging the bridge of his nose for a moment, before he moved his arms down. “Alright, fine. There is a place I would like to go first. Returning to Eos is not an option right now, but... you said something about your home? Planet was it? It had experienced a sickness similar to mine? If so, than maybe I can search for a way to get it out of my body from there. Also, you can show me how this star-travel is supposed to work.”
He entered the spacecraft and took a good look inside, analyzing the controls of the ship with a raised eyebrow. “.. well.. it does look like a normal ship inside... the controls look similar to what I am used to.”

Still trying to suppress her grin, Rina followed Ravus around her ship. Her smile soon was tainted with irritation and her brow furrowed as Ravus tapped the exterior remarking that he thought Rina must be making fun of him or trying to kill him. " Geez. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I swear Ravus. She's in top shape. I just tuned her up! Go look." Rina seemed to caress a sharp edge of the ship near where they were standing and with a near silent hiss a pneumatic door slid open. She gestured for the man to step ahead, following behind him. Unseen by him, she shivered as a cold chill went down her spine. He was wanting to go to the Planet, was he? Rina had more than one reason why that wasn't a good idea but they were all personal and Ravus probably didn't care. Really? Of all the places? She did say she would do anything... She wrapped her arms tight around her and nodded resolutely, blowing out a quiet sigh. " Going home...hm. I can do that. I can take you." Her smile dimmed a little before turning sweet again as Ravus commented on the familiarity of the ship's controls and wanting Rina to show him how to conquer space travel. " I can show you how. It's easy enough. Trust me. I had to learn quickly since I was being chased and shot at." She winked and stuck her tongue out at him as she stepped from the ship and back into the sun. " Come on! Shops close early on Sunday. You used all my potions this morning. We'll need some if I'm going home. We're bound to get shot at there too." Her tone was light and joking, but with her back to Ravus she didn't have to fake a smile as she walked back inside. Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Rina seemed a little annoyed about his irritation with that object, giving her thoughts some air by telling him how 'happy' she was about his confidence in her words. However, even with Ravus more annoyed than anything right now, the man still noticed her hesitation after he shared his plan with her. She didn't seem quiet happy to go to Planet, but she accepted his request. He turned around to see her expression faltering for a moment, only for her to put on a bright smile again. She might have tried to hide it, but Ravus knew something was up... He didn't really know how to ask her about it, though. He never had difficulties talking to his sister about her worries, but Rina was still a stranger to him and he had learned not to blindly trust people the hard way...
Ignoring her remark about her being chased as explanation how she learned it, the man would move up his hand, trying to stop Rina from leaving in a hurry, explaining what she needed to do first. “Wha... hey, wait a minute-!”
She was already gone though, Ravus being left alone in the ship for now, the question about 'What do you mean bound to get shot?' still hanging in his throat, but never left his mouth in time. He slowly moved his hand down again with a sigh, turning to look at the console behind him again. He really wondered how he could have gotten caught up into all of this and if the gods had their hands in this. If so, they really had a terrible sense of humor. The commander narrowed his eyes, his thoughts wandering back to Rina's question how he ended up in the Realm of Darkness. A shiver ran down his spin, accompanied by a flash of anger. Ardyn.. He wouldn't be his puppet again. He would find a way to get rid of this curse and no longer be a pawn in the game of this mad demon.
Shaking his head, he would turn to the door, leaving the ship to follow Rina for now. The prince wondered what madness this girl would drag him into next.
