..it's a new day.
--♦♦♦-- Laughter echoed in the streets, though it was quiet, the chime of the clock tower up above signaled another hour, and warm breezes caused lazy air currents to curl through streets and alleyways, carrying the warmth of the sun-drenched stones. It was a calm, lazy afternoon. To all intents and purposes, just another day, another passing afternoon. The people who lived here went about their lives, selling things, buying things, going to school, hanging out, whatever it was they did on a day like today.
For one young person, today was especially nice. She had nowhere else to be, nothing else that required her to be away today. It was nice to be able to just stroll the streets, a casual walk, no hurry or need to be rushing somewhere, or away from something. She had spent some real time here, lately, and it seemed to have helped with the bad dreams; so far, none had come to disturb her, in this sanctuary of light. It was a soft, gentle light, not glaring or harsh, as she had seen some sunlight be in other Worlds; no, here it was a calming presence, and it eased away the concerns and worry of what the dreams she had had might be of. In fact, it seemed to chase all of that away, as if it didn't exist while she was here. It felt right to be here, in Twilight Town. She was meant to be here.
She bit into the treat she had bought from a vendor, savoring the frozen, sweet and salty favorite ice-cream. This was something her friends had enjoyed, and so she would continue to do so in their memory, until they met again. She wasn't sure when that would be, but the serenity of this familiar place reassured her that they would meet again, and nothing would keep them apart this time. They would hang out, as so many did here, together, and they would spend time together that they hadn't had before. She smiled; yes, they would have fun together, and nobody would interfere or tell them what they could or couldn't do.
As she walked through the sandlot, she knew where her feet would eventually take her. She raised her gaze to the heights of the clock tower that stood above the rest of the buildings. The breeze ruffled her hair, caught at the hood of her top, at the edges of her shorts. She had adapted outfits, with the help of Rina, and she had decided to wear them more often to avoid being more easily spotted, since that man Amarant had been so insistent about the coat and where it had come from. Plus it was nice to be able to change what she wore based on how she felt.
Another bite of ice-cream, and a soft sigh. Yes, there was something about a day like today..

the fiery spell fencer |
Another beautiful day, more like another dull day, or at least that's what Hono thought. Everything was just so mundane, after meeting the Evil Queen she learned that those folk stories about other worlds were actually true. The queen provided her with potions that allow her to travel. However, she only had a few and feared what might happen if she ran out. The girl exited from her family home, her mother and father at work and her little brother was out playing with school friends. What was Hono to do? She didn't really have any friends to spend the day with. It was a bit sad really, she had Elfé but who knew where she went. She hadn't seen her around in Twilight Town, may she moved on to a different world.
The fencer entered the market street, looking over at the synthesis shop for just a moment. Those moogles always did weird her out, with their big floating... pom-poms? Walking forward a bit she came across the bistro. It was so convenient to have a nice place to have lunch, the ratatouille was apparently to die for, Hono never had it, she always enjoyed the seafood dishes. Hono made a pit stop at the ice cream shop. A classic location for kids and adults alike, standing patiently in line. Suddenly it was her turn to order.
"One Sea Salt." She spoke in a disdainful tone, lacking interest, reaching into a pocket on the rear of her skirt quickly pulling out some munny. After another short wait, Hono was handed the ice cream, in it's wrapping. Placing the munny on the counter and walking off.
Hono planned to swing through the sandlot and then make her way back home. She had nothing else to do. She began her lite journey home. By the time she reached the sandlot the wrapping on her ice cream was already gone, the stick being held tightly in her right hand. The two flavors so contradictory yet they complemented each other so well, it was salty and sweet. But hell, Hono wasn't a food critic but what did she know. Bring the ice cream to her mouth from another quick lick, she spotted a girl in the lone sandlot. A cute one with blue eyes and short black hair, what was she doing down here? Sure it was none of Hono's business but she couldn't help but be a bit curious. The girl seemed around the same age as Hono, maybe she could make a new friend? Knowing Hono it would be tough.
Quickly Hono spoked up. Pointing the blueish green popsicle at Xion before walking towards her."Oh? I've never seen you around here" She paused taking a bite out of the ice cream. "What are you doing down here?" She spoke, this time with a candid tone. She hoped she didn't come off strong and frighten the girl.

..it's a new day.
--♦♦♦-- She wandered a bit, glad to see that life continued as normal for the people who lived here, in her favorite World, her most watchfully protected place; after all, this World was a sanctuary for Xion, and quite obviously a peaceful home for those on this World; it was mutually beneficial for her to keep watch over this sleepy town. She was relieved that there seemed to be no interruptions or disturbances to disrupt everyday life. That meant they were still safe from the reaches of darkness... For now.
She frowned, shaking away the gloomy thoughts. Today was not a day to be worrying about what night be, what could never happen. Today was a day to enjoy the peace and quiet and sun, and the ice-cream. However, the peace and her introspection disappeared as someone called, and then approached her. Xion looked at the person, a female, not sure that she was actually talking to her. However it shortly became clear that she was indeed being spoken to, and she took another bite of her treat before really looking at the other girl.
"I've been here for a while, I watch over this place. I don't always just wander around in plain sight; though I've not seen you before, either. Are you new here?"
She asked with curiosity; she thought she knew most of the faces here and apparently that wasn't quite true.

the fiery spell fencer |
Twilight Town really was peaceful. Everyone just seemed so happy all the time. Though it was also quite busy, as it always was. It was just another slow, dull day. Hono just wanted... something new! A day like today was just so boring. People that could travel were so lucky. Endless adventure whenever they wanted. Though it probably wasn't that grand, Hono wished she had abilities like that. Those magic potions did allow her travel, it was unreliable and limited. At least she thought so... no telling what would happen if she ran out.
Hono returned to eating her ice cream. She listened to Xion, she used a few interesting words. The fencer responded to the girl. "Watch over this place? As in, you protect us from evil or something?" Hono, let out a little chuckle. "Like some crazy superhero!" She gave Xion a playful tease. "Why's that? Not a people person?" She asks, taking a big bite from the ice cream, about half of it remained. "I'm not a people person much," she chuckled a bit. "New? Nope, I've been here all my life," She explained towards Xion. "Oh! I'm Hono by the way!" she said stretching her arm above her head.
"And you are? I'm still surprised I've never met you," She looked up and down, studying her. She didn't look odd, perfectly normal. Hono was curious to see how this conversation would play out. What Xion said, about "watching over", she couldn't get over that. Was Xion aware of other worlds? Hono couldn't directly ask, she didn't want Xion to think she was crazy.
