The Hunt continues, and seems to be escalating. Reports are coming in of dangerous creatures appearing in multiple Worlds, the most dangerous of which being a group of coordinated monsters who have taken control of the Castle of Dreams. Most worrisome of all is that, in all reports, there are only two offenders present- And that the local guardsmen were no match for them.
Each stands in the massive room with shields before them, bearing golden plate armor that shines with an unnatural glow. Wherever the plate may show a gap, the bodies beneath don't seem much softer, bearing rigid chitin of only a slightly duller yellow. Though they're not particularly tall, each standing at a moderate five feet with limbs so stubby it's as if they only have hands and feet to shuffle around on, they hold onto their weaponry with a fiendishly tight grip and glare at the entrance with fierce, black eyes. Their off-hands hold up those huge shields, while their dominant hands, each facing away from the other guard, hold onto polished rods leading up to an excessively large gem. The one on the east side of the pairing held a silver rod with a green gem, while his western counterpart held a golden rod with a red gem. Both buzzed with an enchantment of some sort, though it was much unlike that which could be easily identified. In the hands of these rather short soldiers, the rods were more like staves, but would likely serve as effective bludgeoning instruments nonetheless.
The Hornets are prepared to defend their queen. Go forth, young Hunters, and claim your prize. Enemy PartyRight-Handed Hornet (?????) (Mindless) (Heavy-Handed) (Obedience)[hp=20/20] Left-Handed Hornet (?????) (Mindless) (Heavy-Handed) (Independence)[hp=20/20]

Royal Mage
I'll Assist In Your Task Monumental
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ Coming in through the door, Alhanalem didn't like the sight of the room too much. Also the lack of others inside apart from two buzzing armored figures was a little difficult to take in. Last time all the others he had seen showed much greater battle powers than he did. Still, he wasn't going to let this put him entirely off as the yuke prepared himself.
The former royal mage felt very glad to no longer have the ghastly appearance from before. The bone-like armor he had was back to his own armor and he didn't look that much like a lich anymore. His wings back to normal, his armor back to the usual sort, he was himself once more.
Looking from one buzzing soldier to the other, there seemed something wrong with them. Still, he didn't really have any methods of identifying his opponents. Instead Alhanalem chose to remain silent and inch a bit towards the left slowly while keeping his focus on the two. He didn't want to be driven into a corner, so he also slowly moved forward, but left the space in front of the door as he came to a halt. Focusing a magical circle underneath the soldier a bit further inside the chamber directly before him, he cast Fire as flames would hopefully heat up the critter's armor. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ OOC SECTION CD: Fire (1)

Monsters do not care if you are a civilian.
It was the hardest truth Mogrid had had to learn in Bujherba, that even if you had no formal training, never wandered into the mines, and were a good moogle, sometimes, the monsters would get you anyway. And now it seemed an entire idyllic castle was subject to the whims of monsters, who were attacking indiscriminately. Even trained soldiers were having trouble with this set of creatures, but in truth it was the fact that they were after civilians that was setting his blood to boil. This just wasn't right.
The moogle strode into the ballroom, his boot heels thumping and echoing off of distant walls. His teeth were clenched in silent fury as he stared down both of the creatures easily as large as he was. He marched into view, making sure both of the creatures could see him before he flung his left paw out and willed the Mechanist into being. It fairly hummed with the click-click-ticking of machinery. This ended here.
The moogle growled, his pompom glowing and casting rosy shadows before him as he picked up speed. With a furious roar he launched himself at the gap between the two apids, intending to use the momentum to carry himself to their other side while he slashed at the bee on his left. His or miss, he'd use the momentum of striking the creature or striking the ground to spin him to face them and shout "No more! No more pain from uncaring hands. No more lives snuffed out needlessly. No more families suffering. This. Ends. NOW!" into their stupid armored faces as he brought his blade into a defensive guard.
Monsters do not care if you are a civilian, so someone else has to.
Actions: 1. Get into position behind bees by charging across the room. 2. Strike at right-handed hornet and shout defiance. 2a. Swear an oath. 3. Adopt a defensive stance to ready Bladecatcher. Per thread rules, this must be done on the turn before the enemy turn in which it might activate. Roll to follow, 1-5 success, 6-10 fails.

Gyun has no idea what he's doing here. Half the people he met are freaked out and got even more freaked out at the appearance of a demon lion from beyond the pale. Everyone around here seems real superstitious and he has not been able to have much of a conversation with the locals, but he has gathered that something decidedly unpleasant is occurring inside the castle, and because no-one was in any state to stop him, he made his way right inside only to be confronted with conflict already in progress.
Also, are those giant monster bees? He's pretty sure those are giant monster bees. Everything outside of his world is terrible, his world never had giant monster bees attacking a highly populated area for no reason. Sure, they often had giant monsters attacking radio towers or purposefully RELEASED into cities, but never taking over and attacking for no apparent reason. So it is that Gyun assesses the situation and determines that he's really, really tired of doing this. He senses imminent stabbing in the future despite the fact that the hornets are wielding scepters. Big, magical scepters. He likes magic.
Gyun does not, however, like bees, so he remains wayyyy far in the back of the ballroom where he entered, and watches as Mogrid does his angry moogle dance. Gosh that guy is aggressive. Everyone he's met lately is really, really violent... that's probably his own fault for signing up for this weird contest in the first place and he shouldn't complain now. Since he has determined he is not attacking as of now, he takes aim at the Scepter of the hornet.. that is one red gem, and Draws, trying to gather whatever magic exists within the object and learn its secrets, which he does! to some degree, orbs of spiraling light being extracted from the Scepter of Obedience and working their way into the moomba, absorbing into his little furry body.
Bm18lOxU1-10
Gyun enters from the south and is internally impolite about other people's worlds. Gyun attempts to Draw from the Scepter of Obedience., and with a 4, he is successful, understanding and learning the target's proficiency appropriate (first tier) spells and magical abilities for the duration of the thread. He may file one away for further study. 1-10

The rogue wasn't sure what world they were supposed to go to. This was kidna getting out of hand. Did they even have agreement with these other worlds to hold the festivals? Even if the Reagent allowed it the old man pushed it a step too far, as they seemed to do during these events. His arms crossed over his chest as he stood in Invincible's cockpit. Dagger was probably ready to go and knock these monsters for a loop. He did take notice that she had a genuinely short temper when it came to the recklessness. While the fighting was fun, putting civilians in such danger was -- irresponsible. Oh well-- there was no putting it off!The rogue would disembark, Dagger like in tow. He was quick making his way up the castle steps, oft barely touching the ground as he went. He was spirited enough, given the situation. Quick, death defying bounds and leaps he eventually stopped bothering with the steps and pulled himself up along the banister until he jumped up and over. Peering down he called to the young queen. "Come on Dagger!" Before vanishing off again! He slid into the massive room and came to a staggering stop to behold the massive insects. They were pretty tame when compared to the spiders on Popo's Heights, but -- these ones had stingers. He chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his head. Looking between the insects he would notice they were holding rather distinct weapons. Rubbing his hands together he drew his blades, spinning them to train his grip properly on the hilts. Guess it was time to jump into the fray. He was as speedy as ever, using his Air Dash to pull in close, zipping by the Mogrid."HeyMogrid!!" He had gone by so fast he was bound to give allies and opponents alike whiplash. His tail whipped to the left as he zagged to the right towards the green gem, nearly brushing the Moogle Keyblader. Zidane jumped up and launched a Swift Attack by kicking out his boot in an attempt to clip the apid straight in the face and knock it back a spell. What was that mad thief up to? Didn't he have enough of a thrashing last fight?! He never seemed to learn, constantly betraying the laws of evolution with his reckless and outgoing antics that were wont to get him killed one day and leave the Queen of Alexandria with a heart condition. He would land on its right side with a click of his heeled boots, though if managing to trounce it with a kick or not he'd swirl his blades and stand at the ready, watching the creature's movements carefully in an attempt to Detect any weaknesses or other useful information.
Jump Boost: Raises Zidane's normal, vertical jump from 4m (15ft) to 6m (20ft) when not in trance. [Passive]
Air Dash - 1 Cooldown When facing an enemy the thief can push from the ground to the air in a high-speed Dash toward the target. This ability only works if the thief is on the ground. This ability can only target an enemy up to 3m (10ft) away. This ability does no damage and only draws the thief closer to their enemy, bringing him to a close quarter position.
Swift Attack - 2 Post Cooldown A slashing attack that is so fast it knockbacks an opponent. It has low damage, but cannot be countered.
Detect - 2 Cooldown Using his intuition he reads the enemy's nature to detect their alignment, combat style and racial category.

Things seemed to have already escalated to violence by the time Blaise finally made it to the grand hall after getting lost performing extended reconnaissance. There were bees of prodigious size and military bearing, an usual disposition for hymenoptera. However, more importantly, they clasped no doubt intriguing magical GEMS of even more prodigious size! Normally Blaise might want to study these creatures, learn their unique niche in the eldritch ecology, and extract coax whatever primal magics nature might’ve endowed them with. But Blaise was also a man who took his easily pocketable gems quite seriously, enough to violently override zoological curiosity. Unfortunately for these armored hornets, disputes of lustrous valuables ownership had only the recourse of zappy death. A bloke has to have his principles after all. “What!?” Blaise exclaimed in furious pique as the Mooba attempted to suck the resale value right out of the red gem! “Cough that Mist back up right now you mangy Manavore,” the mage demanded while hurling armfuls of rainbow hued Blaster spheres Right Hornet, leaving patches of petrified furniture and tapestries where the pitches went wide. “Don’t you know that diluting the treasure is….oooooo.” The glint of the green gem drew away Blaise’s fury and interest for now. “Drop the glam-cane and you keep your thorax intact!” The somewhat disingenuous offer was followed by a concentrated stream of hissing Acid towards the Left Hornet’s arm, Blaise being apparently too greedily impatient to actually wait for compliance. 1) Blaise arrives fashionably late 2) Blaise casts Blaster on Right hornet, dealing medium Light damage and inflicting a status determined by this dice roll nV|8Ze7M1-43) Blaise casts Acid on the Left hornet, dealing medium Water damage and inflicting a random status 1-4{Acid}Acid: Being partially digested by a Flan left Blaise with the ability to conjure spheres of flesh eating acid even after his hair finally grew back. Though the first few attempts to strike were successful, those in melee were confronted with an issue. Mogrid, having moved behind the Hornets before attacking, may have still been oblivious, but Zidane's knives didn't meet their target, instead bashing uselessly against a shield that was swiftly shifted into place in front of his target, who refused to budge from the push. With its options restricted by the effects of acid splattering over it and clearly being offended by the sudden attack, the Left-Handed Hornet swung wide with its Scepter, using it as a club and trying to bury the ornamentally spiked head into Zidane's... anything, whether it be a shoulder or perhaps the side of his head. It swung three times with no clear break or wind-up, and though its shield was constantly moving to make room, it somehow managed to stay perfectly in front of its carrier, even though some such movements looked like they'd have required some not-quite-possible arm placements to accomplish. Though brutish and upfront, the Hornet was clearly either well-trained, magically blessed, or some combination of the two.
The other, who held the golden staff, didn't take too kindly to being hit either, turning to lock eyes onto the mage who had fired on him first. Though the blast of light had robbed it of some time, it made a remarkably fast dash to close the distance while the red gem of its Scepter began to glow. Once close, it planted its shield firmly against the floor and swung the staff down, nearly slamming the head against the marble in the motion to provoke a strange power from inside the stone. The air seemed to burst apart when the head of that Scepter scraped it, opening up to release a fast-moving crowd of yellow objects, all of which looked to be arranged in the shapes of yellow stars, with five dull points which spun as they shot through the air, quickly taking of a huge arc of space on the Hornet's right side. When hitting the wall, they looked as if they dispersed harmlessly, but the walls themselves were left with a number of dents, craters and scorch marks where the stars had struck. Truly, it was fortunate that none of the Hunting Party had been positioned on its dominant side, but the Hornet already seemed ready to do the same thing again. In fact, both of them, but something was off about the one who hadn't yet, as if the spell it prepared wasn't quite the same... It seemed that one of the drones was attempting to bury the treasure within Sir Tribal, an unfortunate process that would significantly lower the value of both in the process. Well y’know, Blaise had polished plenty of grey matter off gems, but no amount of magic could really take the ‘trauma’ out of ‘blunt force.’ It was it was like a certain kinds of cold but delicious sandwiches! Once you take the lettuce and tomatoes out, can you really say its still a…
Oh wait, bee bludgeoning!
Vapor thick as burning pitch poured in smoke trails from Blaise’s gloved hands as he reached into the void, overlaying the Darkness between atoms atop real-space. The air beside Zidane twisted in shuddering contortions before the ripples solidified into a stark black Corridor. A second motion from the mage brought another dark spacial wound into existence behind the armored arthropod. “Sir Tri-erm-Zidane,” amended Blaise, “the portal leads behind him!”
Not having the time to see how that played out, the Azurite noted the Red-gem Hornet was advancing on the not quite-as-Lichy-today-Chocobo-wizard. Having watched the Vesipdae in action with those shields and intriguing astral magic, a frontal assault was looking pretty hopeless. Though honestly Blaise regarded that as a truism of life really. Life expectancy and forthrightness of approach were the very definition of an inverse correlation. With that in mind, Blaise attempted to scurry into the enormous hornet’s blind-spot while its attention was focus on his delectable poultry bait companion. Clenching a fist, the magician took a few precious seconds to focus his body’s mana into raw potential kinetic force, one the first lessons most accidental new Blue Magi ‘learn.’ Blaise swung out with a left hook towards the Hornet’s back, uttering the time-honored battlecry of the Azure Arts.
“Goblin Punch sucker!”
1) Blaise opens a Dark Corridor with one next to Zidane and the other behind the Hornet, hopefully giving Zidane a way out of danger and the ability to bypass Bulwark by attacking from behind.
2) Blaise moves behind the Red Gem horney
3) Blaise uses Goblin Punch to try and deal Medium damage and knock the Honet forward so its back is exposed to Anhanalem

Gyun perks and is really happy to have this new spell! He scampers past Blaise, ignoring his earlier protests about 'putting the mist back.' Why would he ever do that. Para Magic is quite valuable and he's not just going to dump it. The Moomba perks at the green hornet, who is readying a DIFFERENT spell, and is not green but the gem is so he calls it the green hornet in his little slightly attention deficit kitty cat brain. He moves north just far enough up that he has a clear line of sight between him and the left handed hornet's back right side, remaining firmly between the two and hoping that he doesn't turn around what with Blaise's portal-y shenanigans.
Gyun's hackles raise and he lifts a paw, summoning a swirl of sparkling light that manifests into a star shaped bolt with a 'Tink', and a soft scattering of light, then launches it with a sweep at the left handed hornet who is so expertly blocking before taking a deep breath and settling in. If that thing works the same way and it turns around, he and everyone else will be in in serious trouble, but he needs to understand the magic at play here, so instead of moving east, he holds his ground plants his feet, closes his eyes and focuses in on the green gem. He has no idea what it does but he'd really like to find out. Unfortunately, if it's as big an angry as what the other hornet had, he cannot in good conscience just drawcast it willynilly, so he instead follows up with a blizzard, lifting his paws and casting it NOT at the Left-Handed hornet who he's pretty sure is gonna counter super hard, but at the right-handed hornet who JUST had his armor heated up by fire!
With the usual aplomb, the moomba swirls his paws together like heaping together snow, raising them upwards as flakes appear from the air, crystalize into shards, coalesce into a boulder, and fire straight for the hornet. The creatures are quite small, so there is not enough resistance for the boulder to shatter this time, as it careens toward the creature to hopefully impact with a resounding THUNK and give that armor a very bad time.
Gyun moves to a new position just south of Mogrid.
Gyun casts Starshot on the acidic Left-Handed Hornet to reduce its defenses.
Gyun casts Blizzard on the heated, Right-Handed Hornet in an attempt to damage it and its armor...ed carapace and maybe lock it up?

One of the hornets was fleeing. That was not happening. Mogrid fired off a Blizzard spell at the offending apid. He snorted and greeted Zidane with a nod. "I'm tired of these things running amok without anyone to stop them. I'm tired of these monsters tearing apart families and doing whatever they feel like with no repercussions, and I'm not going to stand for it, kupo." He said, iron in his voice. He sidestepped to behind the bee in front of him and made an upward slash intended to knock the stupid helmet off it's stupid head. "Do you HEAR ME?! Every last one of you monsters are going to learn that you can NOT get away with destroying peaceful lives." With that he started funneling his cold fury into a spell, calling ice to him in the by-now familiar spell. "I will not stand by and let this happen any more. I was given this key to overcome and hold back the darkness. I will protect those who cannot protect themselves." the moogle intoned, his focus mostly on the spell now. "By this key, I will defend the helpless. Mark my words." Ice started forming around the moogle as he channeled his intent. Actions:1. Blizzard at right-handed hornet 2. Slash at left-handed hornet. 3. Charging Blizzard Barrage. (1/??) Statuses: ?. Honorspren? Wait, wrong world. None.

Zidane understood how Mogrid felt. It was one thing to have a one off bit of mayhem during a festival and clean up, but the old guy had taken it to a degree that made the thief start to wonder. While normally the sadistic behavior during the Festival of the Hunt could be ignored he was more inclined to worry given that it was a Gaian holiday. The Mist had a way of increasing a person's natural tendency for being a ne'er-do-well. It was too much a coincidence to ignore, but there was hardly anything they could do about that. What they needed to do was face them and stop them now. After he failed to land his strike on the wasp it would come at him, but not before he was able to behold its weaknesses.
"Guys! Focus on the other bug holdin' red!" He let out a shout of surprise when the wasp became focused on him.He quickly pulled his arm up to buffet his head for any sort of damage, taking the first strike with his arm. The cry of Blaise caught his attention as a Corridor opened behind him. His tail raised up as he turned his eye to the buzzing warrior. He would take another hit to his arm and finally drop his stance. Pushing forward he made motion to block the final strike from the insect before slamming his fist into his opponent's unguarded torso as he was wildly swinging on his course. The rogue would follow through and attempt to smack his staff away with an aggressive Mug, ensuring the target would find themselves sans offense and oft winded by the preceding strike.Using the Corridor to escape behind the insect Zidane in hopes to catch him off. Snapping his blades together to create his thief's sword the standing artist of tomfoolery would summon the his Soul Blade and attempt to blind it! The Ogre: The Ogre uses the combined magical force of the twin Mage Mashers to provide the chance to inflict the Blind status on opponents, diminishing their ability to attack, by over half, for a one post duration. This is a passive ability and has a 10% (above 90 on a d100 roll) chance of inflicting blind when the sword strikes an enemy.Blocked!Mug - 2 Cooldown Using that same sneaky, speedy nature he attempts steal his enemy's weapon while striking them for light to moderate damage. This ability induces the Disable effect, making enemy unable to use their weapon's skills or abilities for a turn until the weapon is retrieved.Soul Blade - 2 Cooldown; 2 Post Duration Drawing from the Blade's Spirit the thief forces a status ailment onto his enemy, that lasts for a duration of two posts. With the Ogre the effect of Blind, which reduces an enemy's ability to physically strike their opponent by half. With the Mage Mashers the effect of Silence, which prevents an opponent from casting verbal spells. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Zidane's first few attacks were just as hopeless as the last few, being cleverly intercepted by the Hornet's shield before they could make contact with armor. Only when Zidane had moved behind could his blade find purchase, plunging into the back of the Hornet to inflict its spell... Only for that spell to have no effect, as the Hornet still moved freely, swinging its shield around to face him again. Even when assailed by the party's mages, the shining whatever-they-were didn't seem interested in anything other than what they had first locked onto, and were constantly turning to keep them in sight.
The Right-Handed Hornet wasn't faring quite as well, its guard having been circumvented by several opponents, culminating in a fist in the back that sent it soaring past the Guardian, after which it collided hard against the opposite wall. I recovered quickly, though, and both the Hornets raised their Scepters in unison. The Right-Handed Hornet did the same as before, though this time it had turned around, meaning the resulting barrage of stars struck a different side of the room. Though those engaged with the knight may have been relieved to not have been hit, the same could not be said for Zidane and Mogrid, who were both perfectly in the arc of fire. The Left-Handed Hornet, who had turned to face that same rogue, didn't perform quite the same action, instead crossing its dominant arm over the other in its downward swing so it could direct the spell in the direction opposite of its normal side. Unfortunately, it wasn't the smartest way to aim it anymore, with the Hornet having been turned around, so none of the Hunting Party fell victim to the resulting fire- This time. Mogrid was pulling back to launch his next assault when he got starred in the face. However, the attack and its effects gave him a better idea of how the hornets seemed to work. He'd managed to strike the first hornet a decent thump, and saw the helmet go flying. He closed his eyes for a second and thought, then nodded, jumped back a little bit so that he was directly north of where he had been before, right against the northern wall.
He continued charging the Barrage, readying a much larger strike than he usually did, but in the meantime he extended his key toward the pair, allowing healing energies to encompass Zidane and restore some of what was taken. Meanwhile he raised his voice and shouted "Bring them closer together. If we can get them positioned well we can avoid those strikes, I think."
No time to fully explain what he meant, but more ice collected around him. He now had half a dozen vortices of frigid energy orbiting his form, three of which were already coalescing into icicles.
Actions:1. Position himself in what he suspects is a gap between the two overlapping areas 2. Cure on Zidane. 3. Continue charging B. Barrage. (2/ )

[attr="class","kiminoright"] Doctor Tot’s extensive knowledge pertaining to the art and theories of war coupled with General Beatrix’s subject matter expertise on tactics, doctrine and engagement had both stressed the importance of intelligence. It was for that very reason, Garnet had let herself fall a few steps behind Zidane as she’d surveyed the battlefield from beyond the entryway. In what felt like seconds, the combatants had managed to wear down the mechanized hornets, their metallic carapaces showing signs of significant wear and tear. However, they’d dealt punishment equal to what they’d received, and their foreign magic concerned the Queen greatly. Its’ presence reminded her strangely of the luxation of energy Steiner released just before he’d fired off one of his sword arts, Armor Break . [break][break] Garnet’s hand extended out towards the Right-handed Hornet, her eyes fluttering shut for a brief instance before they’d snapped back open. Her magic birth into existence numerous tiny drones, their phantasmal form abided by her command and swarmed the Hornet, drifting about harmlessly as they’d surveyed the entirety of its’ body. One could swear they could hear the mechanical whirling within as rays of red light danced up and down the beast, diligently mapping outs its’ body, searching for known weakness, and providing that information to Garnet in a pseudo-life feed. Unlike her attempt against Gerald Kaitman, Garnet’s drones proved successful this time around. [break][break] She also made it a point to dash past the right-hand drone, working herself closer to the corner. Once she had positioned herself, Garnet readied her rod and targeted Mogdrid with a simple Cure , to abate his pain for the time being. She didn’t want to unleash the Gaian God’s wraith quite yet, especially if it meant limiting her abilities to mend the other’s injuries for the time being. Gyun assesses his situation. It seems like he cannot pull attention of the hornet away. He sees that two of his company take a big, bad hit from both hornets and both are still in range for further assault. He can only heal one of them and has no guarantee that they'll survive. Not only that, but he can tell that they're suffering the same effect as the hornet he cast upon. If he doesn't do something right now they might... Gyun's protective instinct flares. They've been through multiple life and death situations together and he's not going to let anything happen to them.
Gyun's hackles raise, fur bushing out as he glows faintly and crackles with colored energy, body's limits releasing as he takes a brief leave of his senses and charges into the fray, leaving a streak of red, gold and orange as he charges in east and dragging his metal claws along the backside of the Left-Handed Hornet's newly chinked armor with a violent display of sparks, before spinning about and using his momentum so set his frame's springs and fire himself bodily into the hornet from its back right side, forcing the metal claws as deep as he can get them, before pulling them out. He drops off the hornet and hits the floor with a gentle bounce, shaking his head and looking briefly confused because he's not entirely sure what just happened, other than that he's suddenly in the line of fire. That's bad.
Gyun uses Limit Break to enhance his physical abilities and boost his physical damage one stage this turn.
Gyun streaks by the Left Handed Hornet, dragging his claws for medium damage, viciously amplified.
Gyun uses his momentum to change direction and force his claws into the Left-Handed Hornet for medium damage again, also amplified.
