The targets have been selected and loosed in the streets. In a matter of hours, many have already left the city, and some have even found ways of leaving the world entirely, but a select few have either chosen to stay or were stopped at the blockaded gates. After that, many formed into tight-knit groups once again. These Goblins are perhaps some of the more clever of the monsters involved in the Hunt, and now have a hold of their own in a central plaza where they await the rest of their brothers.
They hold their ground with knives and swords, eyes searching the incoming streets for whatever participants may approach. Thus did the first day of the Hunt truly begin. Find the beasts, young Hunters, and claim your prize.

Hells, why’d does it have to be him someone as lovable and tender-complexioned as himself first in? Bait? Certainly not! He was just…the uh vanguard, yes that!
Hoping the some of the other hunters were in position somewhere, Blaise clambered along grey steel aqueducts and ivy wreathed street overhangs. It wasn’t long before he’d spied what remained of the invading force squatting in the square. Normally the mountaintop metropolis of steam-pipes and stone would beguile with fascination. The similarities to the famous Clockwork City of Goug and the ruins breath were uncanny to say the least. Yet but violent profit trumped scholastic zeal in this case, filthy lucre and so forth.
Pacing out into an adjoining street to get a clean shot into the square at a respectable (if not nearly as remote as he would like) distance, Blaise went through the now unconsciously rote breathing exercises of kindling his body’s mana, and prepared to do his tactical part as the bearer of large shiny explosive distractions.
The mantra rising in repetitive intensity from Blaise’s lips wove ethereal geometries in the air, circles within pentagrams within trigrams within more circles shifting in on themselves in dizzying gyrations. A final word ignited the eldritch diagrams and sent a fusillade of azure bolts towards the largest closet of patrolling goblins.
1) Blaise casts Mantra Magic into the fray in order to draw out the goblins so other hunters can ambush them. The number of magic missiles launched will be indicated by this dice roll.

~I Heard About You~ You Like| The Bad |Ones Too? “Aww! That is all you can manage?”
He had to admit, this distraction had all the things a romantic would love! There was flare! There was a promising build up of a light show! Last but not least, there would be the explosive climax after all the enchanting words were uttered, preparations had been set, and a target would aim true. Some would manage fantastic feats but others would come up short with little to show for.
“Just two 'explosions' and that's it?”
This peculiar hunter that would join the Ba-....err...Vanguard?
Well, he was cute, right? Yes! He was a cute little Vanguard! Knowing this, the peculiar hunter that appeared would stand right beside the young man wearing what was considered not the best attire for tactical movement or even savage sport. His sagging sleeve of his furisode Kimono would lightly cover his limbs with its silken texture like the feathers on a beautiful chocobo. He would even use the yellow colors of hues as a theme with a waist bound in a earthen brown and his head was adorned by a hair clip that represented a sunflower.
“And I came here, looking all nice and you can only manage two?!”
With an obvious fake pout, the amber eyes of the figure indicated that he was not something human even though he flirted as aggressive as a monster that had just been attacked by a maelstrom of magical spells.
Speaking of which, all of them which probably was tempered by now by the bait who was being hit on by the effeminate young man who seemed to show no worry or care whatsoever. He simply would keep his eyes upon his admired target that he contemplated on pinning down and kissing.
Well, he was cute after all, and he did have potential!
“I wonder…” Playfully the boy’s sleeve lifted to his chin as his cheeks would stretch from a mischievous grin that could barely fit his face, “Would you be able to show me more if I bought you a….BED!!!”
As if on cue of the excited cry, the perfect barrier also known as a terrible lewd pun also known as a surprise attack would drop from the sky upon cue of the voice. The shadow on the ground would grow larger, hovering just above the creatures as a sudden crash would reveal a massive bed that would aim to crash into a plaza. As snarky and flirty as ever, the young creature would turn his attention from his helplessly targeted suitor for the moment with his finger lifting from his chin puzzled.
“Then again,” he continued with eyes sweeping a wicked smile to show after to Blaise, “I suppose...I could change my clothes for you?”
CRASH!!! There were two of these horrid sounds to be exact following the sound of the bed’s echoing impact would die down. Joined on each side of the wicked, animated bed with a wicked grin on its front and an emblem on its sheets, there were two tall wardrobes that came crashing down to flatten any desperate creatures that were running about in chaos after the near scrape of being flattened by a bed. The two pieces of large furniture flew open spewing out bloomers, unmentionables, and large boots that had familiar small creatures of darkness that looked absolutely perverse with their beady eyes peeping from within the clothing.
Meanwhile, the heartless that stood by he boy stood contemplating with only one worry.
“What to do with you...what to do with you…”
The mass of creatures were running about, big wooden plank bodies tossing themselves towards the direction of the Goblins and intending to smash them with disregard for themselves, there was a certain vibe in the air that should have warranted the young blonde that perhaps his own body would not be safe after the creatures were disposed of (or any moment between now and then really). However, the effeminate heartless seemed to be an ally...maybe?

Two missiles shot forth, and the first Goblin to see them coming was also unfortunate to catch both projectiles in the same moment. The creature was blasted away, colliding with a nearby wall before fading completely. The others wasted no time in their response, taking up their smuggled weapons proper and charging from their makeshift barricade... only to be stopped when a rather inconvenient bed was dropped from the sky, crushing the central one who had attempted to lead the assault. After that, another two constructs of living furniture joined the fray, and the group was scattered as individual Goblins were hunted down by the wooden beasts. All three fled, attempting to regroup, but were soon chased down, with only one surviving the conflict for more than a few moments, having a chance to stab at one of the Wardrobes in question.
The fight was not so decisively finished, however, as there were many more Goblins in the city than just to first five, and several more were already on their way, storming down from the rooftops and rushing to the fight. They swarmed the notched Wardrobe immediately, ready to add to the wounds their predecessor had made. Zidane was hardly the sort to join these dizzying contests of strength. He was more than glad to watch as parades of monsters went by, but it had been Dagger who decided she was willing to join the fight, if only for a bit of fun. It was surprising to say the least. He didn't think her for the Festival of the Hunt. He had only heard that she was cheering along the many festival goers. Had he known she and Rusty were about the loudest in the stands he would have been tickled to volunteer! Now that she was up and at it he couldn't very well be some layabout when she was there to impress.
And impressions was the sort of attention he was after because amidst the chaos the rouge leapt down from a nearby roof, quite used to the heights afforded to the massive town stilted on bridges and towers! With the goblin horde having the very same, reckless idea Zidane would attempt to surprise one of them with a drop kick to the face, using them as a springboard to bounce to another and lash out with his Mage Mashers! Whether or not his attack succeeded didn't much matter because upon landing he scurried up a nearby lampost and held out his arms.
"Did ya see that Dagger?!" Ever the show off! MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

[attr="class","kiminoright"] Dagger reached up for what felt like the millionth time since they’d departed from Alexandria, incessantly tugging down the familiar white mage’s cowl, effectively concealing the entirety of her face from view. Garnet’s knuckles blanched a stark white as she’d renewed her vigorous grip upon her racket, periodically hefting its’ weight back and forth as she’d battled phantasmal foes, silently reassuring herself that she hadn’t forgotten the basics of combat. Her gaze shifted from the lithe back of her beloved husband, drifting upwards to a family upon a balcony, incessantly cheering on the participants of the hunt. One of the children waved frantically at her, a blush stained her cheeks as she’d coyly responded with a curt wave of herself. When she’d attempted to gather Zidane’s attention, he’d simply vanished form view, his tail flicking over a nearby rooftop, the only indication of where he’d gone. [break][break]
An exacerbated sigh slipped from her lips followed immediately after by a bout of her own whimsical laughter. Her chocolate brown eyes drifted softly shut, commanding the magick that coursed through her veins to bend to her whim. A faint divine glow emanated from her right hand as she’d channeled Float , imbuing it upon herself. For a second, it’d appeared nothing had happened, had it perhaps been a miscast? No, Garnet felt herself growing lighter, defying the very laws of the universe as she’d began to drift upwards to the very roof-top her husband had scampered across. Without a single word, she pursued her husband, her anklet-style boots drifting just centimeters above the shingles of the roof. Before she could catch her husband, he daringly leapt from the rooftop, his foot connecting solidly with one of the goblin’s faces. [break][break] An audible wince slipped from between her lips, certainly, it was a creature of mist but none the less she couldn’t help but feel a nuance of sympathy. Zidane hadn’t quite lost his knack for making a memorable entrance, fortunately, this time wasn’t after she’d thought she’d lost him forever. In the time it took her to blink in disbelief, Zidane rocketed across the battlefield attempting to slash yet another Goblin. Once the fleet-footed rogue’s feet grazed the ground, he quickly scampered up a nearby lamppost, his arms flared outward in mock bravado. Garnet simply shook her head dismissively, extending her racket outwards as she’d compressed magick on its’ end, launching two concussive blasts at two separate goblins from atop the roof.

~I Heard About You~ You Like| The Bad |Ones Too? He was not engrossed too much into the destruction of the creatures. Even if that was the goal of the collective, his thought singular as he simply craved the strong-willed hearts around them. Everything else seemed to be a distraction or a curb to his lust. The golden orbs were fixated on the movements of the newcomer who was swift and skilled. Discipline was like the whip cream on the sweet palettes that he enjoyed. Raw talent and a touch of contentment in the face of adversity? A fine dressing!
Then she had shown up…
Between movements to separate himself from the prey that was at his side, the blonde whom he had advanced on, Happi had become mildly interested with his temporary allies (future meals). The darkling would stare at the two whom had seemed to share something akin of a bond. A jealousy finding its way to prick at the heart of the heartless, Happi’s lips would part as a sigh would come like flame. Pain would come and go; and the curiosity with it.
“Mmm! I love how this is going!” An ecstatic moan coming from the lips of the darkling who cast out his right arm. The darkness had given away to a beautiful black luster that was beautiful but ominous. A steel blade reaching from the overlap of cloth that ran along the boy’s arm. “Anymore and I might just get a little too...excited!”
He turned his attention to the creatures. He had to! He certainly could not make a scene here! He liked to get up close and personal to his prey and have them alone. He was the shy-type!
But his movements were nothing of that. With himself out of an extended reach of the others, he had drawn closer to the creatures that would appear upon the field. The wardrobe, a precious construct that held a lot of his favorite clothing, was being ravaged by the creatures. The brow would fall over the golden orbs that were suddenly filling with rage.
“My gowns! My skirts! My shirts!”
Dread behind his words as the boy had begun to whip his arm about so fluidly until the blade begun to jingle and chime. The single blade became many that was held together by a reaching wire that bent as it stretched in length. With slow and easy steps, retaining his stylish twists and walk, he would cast his right hand above his head as he would whip back his arm and lash it forward sending the blade reaching forth.
This action was continuous double lash, reaching the blade’s tip to decisive vital areas at the chest, head, and shoulder blades as he attempted to punish the creatures with a swift death or helpless mangle. The bed
An appropriate fate for those who desecrated fashion.

Though the goblins had been fortified and were gaining replenished ranks, the newcome hunters were still cutting a path through the horde. Several more fell, the most violently of which was the one that had dared to assault the living furniture alone. Seeing them as important, the rest ignored the clear warning and swarmed the devices, chopping away at them with their swords and trying to dismantle the poor possessed woodwork. Two in particular approached the bed and, after a moment to plant their fists against each other in a proper symbol of brotherhood, dropped their weapons and began windmilling their arms as light shone from their fingers, eyes set on their target and winding up for... something. The rest, meanwhile, were happily slashing at the summoned creatures that seemed to lie dormant for the moment. Even the one Goblin who had been unfortunate enough to receive a boot to the face had quickly recovered and returned to the battle.
The assault took its effect. A number of garments (which are probably best left unspecified) bled from the creatures as chunks of wood were cleaved away, and one of them even collapsed under the combined attack, after which the Goblins stabbing at it made a show of jumping and stomping on its splintered remains. That still wasn't the end, as more monsters yet charged in from an unattended street, waving swords about as they sprinted toward the other Wardrobe... [attr="class","kiminoright"] Dagger’s teeth sunk into her plump bottom lip as she’d surveyed the ever-changing and dynamic battlefield, the streets of Lindblum, which had been further flooded by the presence of mist-tainted creatures. Zidane’s dynamic entrance had managed to wound one of the goblins, his wickedly sharp twin-blades guiding another into restful, eternal slumber – shifting the odds in the hunting parties’ favor. Alas, the tides of war, they were unrelenting and remorseless, a fact made evident by a number of piercing cries and unintelligent gibberish. What in the name of Alexander is that ruckus , the disguised Queen mused to herself, her expression further souring as she’d taken note of a total of ten goblins, each whom had emerged from the surrounding area and had begun to swarm towards the combatants. [break][break] Dagger’s gaze instinctively shifted towards her husband, abating her hearts’ fears that the worse could have come to fruition – she couldn’t bear to lose him yet again. One of her hands drifted from its’ position on her racket, reaching into one of the pockets of her skin-tight orange coveralls. Her fingertips grazed the rough, uneven surface of one of the eight gems that she’d kept concealed on her person. Her lips remained set in a scowl, displeased by the fact she knew that it wasn’t the one she was searching for. A few seconds later, Garnet held a singular stone in between the tips of two of her fingers, extracting it from her pockets only to bring it close to her bosom. Her eyes drifted softly shut, her lips moving as she’d silently muttered a prayer to Gaia’s governing twelve, requesting the aid of the wise Fulgarian, Ramuh, the first Eiolodin, whom had deemed her worthy – even when she didn’t believe such herself. [break][break] A soft sunburst yellow emanated from between the miniscule gaps in her fingers, its’ radiating glow intensifying exponentially. Garnet’s gaze hardened as she’d extended her racket towards the heavens, in response to this gesture, one could see the once clear skies had begun to darken, thick clouds rapidly encroaching upon the city. Deafening roars of thunder echoed far above their head, a few streaks of lightning danced about the clouds, momentarily revealing a silhouette hidden amongst them. Said mysterious figure disappeared just abruptly as their presence had been made known, a singular bolt of lightning streaking down into the middle of the plaza. Where the lightning kissed the cobblestone, there now stood an elderly man, his stark-white hair billowed around him freely, stray arcs of electricity crackling on its’ ends. [break][break] His grip upon his gnarled staff, tightened as he’d extended it towards a group of three of the newly arrived goblins. “Judgement Bolt.”, he spoke to no one but himself, a singular bolt of lightning shot down form the heavens, landing amongst the hoard, its’ splintering bolts hopefully reducing them to nothing more than charred dust. His head craned in Garnet’s direction, a prideful smile upon his face, a silent nod was exchanged between the two. His body began to fade away into nothingness, however, in the midst of its’ distribution, his gaze settled upon Zidane. “A step in the right direction, young one.” His voice would echo within Zidane’s ears. [break][break] Before Garnet’s assault was finished, she’d swung her racket once more in rapid succession, two concussive blasts impacting two of the goblins that had previously been injured in hopes of taking a grand total of five out of play.
[break][break] o Ramuh - Garnet grasps small stone known as Peridot, quietly praying for judgement to be delivered from above. Her calls are answered by an elderly man with hair as white as snow brandishing a twisted, gnarled rod. His singular attack is Judgement Bolt , which conjures forth a miniature store that can target up to three enemies at once, dealing heavy lighting damage before he immediately fades away [ CD 4 ]

Post by Gyun on Oct 4, 2018 5:05:02 GMT -5
Gyun is having a bad day, one of the worst days in a while, which is saying something considering that his home world is consistently under attack by the heartless and his job has been to be bait because they seem to love him. Today, the moomba sits disgruntled and only vaguely traumatized upon a cold, flat, hard, and incredibly uncomfortable surface, staring at the black lines that fill what little view he has of the surrounding area. These lines are the bars of a rather too small cage, and they are the bane of his existence. A little over a day ago the moomba found himself in an exceptionally strange place and very much not on his regular patrol route. Having heard that the city was going to be filled with monsters as it is every year and they were looking for volunteers to handle it, Gyun put his name on the sheet. Shortly thereafter, almost immediately after leaving the dense throngs of a crowd he found himself pulled aside by several individuals and unceremoniously and rather aggressively tossed into this container, which was surrounded by many others like it, full of things that would probably try to eat him had there not been bars between them.
Attempts to escape the predicament at that time had proved largely unsuccessful, serving to rile up the nearby monsters, so he stopped. Apparent to him, at some time earlier today, during a nap to recover some energy, his cage was moved into position in the city, and he has awakened here, to the sounds of combat. It has been more than a full day since he has eaten and his stress levels are really starting to climb. With no-one around, he was not going to wait to be let out. With all the force his body can muster, he flings himself against the door once, twice, rattling the pins wildly, until with a third slam they pins warp enough to fly free and the cage door slams down with a resounding ring, a very unpleasant noise for his little feline ears.
There is a loud clang, clang, clank from an alley near the plaza, which at least those who have been to the hunt before will recognize as the door of a monster cage being broken down mid event, and the sound of heavy yet soft footfalls moving at speed toward the collection of hunters and goblins immediately follows. A streak of crimson and orange dashes down the streets into the plaza, massive paws drifting slightly on the damp cobblestones, the paws themselves attached to a feline creature that is extremely distressed and rather unhappy looking. As a moomba, Gyun is not generally the type to take his frustrations out on others, but he's feeling like he might want to make an exception at this moment in time and is suffering a little bit of tunnel vision, see monsters, release tension on monsters. The small, lionesque beast makes it almost to the hunters before there is a sudden and brilliant flash of lightning arcing through the gathering which is in all honesty blinding and very sobering. The Moomba looks between the hunters, and the goblins, and where the lightning was, and the old man, and the young woman, and the heartless, and then back to the heartless, then the hunters, then the goblins again, and seems to quickly mull things over in his head, assessing the situation.
The decision is made quickly, and with what is in all honesty a more adorably squeaky roar than he would like, the creature bristles and launches himself into the air with a leap well taller than his natural height and long enough to close quite a distance, spiky main fluttering in the wind. The critter comes down hard, claws first, on the head of one of the goblins furthest from the action (and the heartless) with an extremely aggressive pounce and reckless abandon to take out his frustrations of having to go through an experience that directly reminds him of one of the more unpleasant periods of his life. What follows is a very intensive and to be honest rather one sided assault on the unfortunate creature, with the moomba using his powerful jaws, paws and claws to mercilessly aggress the monster in a manner best left vague for the younger viewers at home. A vicious flurry of natural weapons that ends with a powerful, thumping strike of a clawed paw sending the poor gobbie tumbling back in the direction of its nearest fellows at high speed. It is readily apparent that the lion creature is physically more than a match for a single goblin, possibly several, though the same could likely be said for all of the hunters here. The moomba growls low, then immediately takes a deep breath, smiles and relaxes, and finally begins to pay full attention to his surroundings and try to think up a plan of attack.
Gyun uses his natural weapons to viciously maul (One) goblin with reckless abandon and send it barreling toward its fellows in a disruptive manner.

At Dagger's accusation he would reach up behind his head and rub at the back of his skull, chuckling sheepishly. Looking to the side and moving to slide down the post the rogue sheathed his blades.
"I'm sorry Dagger, I thought you were right behind me!" Of course during such activities Zidane really wore a pair of blinders, so it was to be expected his antics left him oblivious to the general location of the greater portion of his party.
He moved to stand beside Dagger, his back opposite to her own so they were nearly face to face. He curled his arms behind his head and leaned a heeled boot behind his right heel. The long, fifth appendage would sway behind him, the youthful thief grinning at his beloved. Crystal blue eyes drifted down as she rummaged in her pocket.
"Hey, I'm okay, you don't need to get a potion or anything, but if you want to kiss it better..." He wiggled a brow, a coy grin playing at his features.
It wasn't until she retrieved a familiar looking stone that he became aware of her intentions. He jumped back a bit, tail curling upward considerably. He looked to Dagger and back to the horde, than back to his beloved as he held out his hands, splaying his palms.
"Ah, Dagger?" But it was too little too late.
She was determined to face her enemy, even if it was a little less serious than she considered. The elder god razed the hunt's prey, sending them to oblivion. Zidane had never seen monsters like this before. Hopefully they weren't too badly injured after everything. They looked too clever, not unlike Mu and Fang. What the heck were those old men thinking? Releasing things like this into town? As usual he felt that these events got more and more dangerous each year! Zidane winced as a few of the Goblins were turned to roasted chickens, followed by a few concussed ones as Dagger's magic racket made quick work of them, outdoing Zidane's mark by two. He sucked his tooth and glanced over to the woman, his head having leaned back to peer over the damage.
He leered at the old man a moment. Was that so, huh? He'd always support Dagger and there was always room to grow. Like Baku said, always practice your abilities!
Turning on his heel and he shrugged. "Well now I can't just give up." He looked to her and pounded his fist to his chest. "I'm not the slouch in this relationship!" He teased before he moved to jump onto the edge of the stone banister, drawing his blades as he pointed outward. "Looks like the old man is releasing more. How about a wager? If I get a higher headcount I get to pick our next date spot!"
Before she could agree or contest the conditions of he bet the rogue was already diving down from the high point into the lower section of the district. Oh - oh bother. The rogue landed on some nearby roofs, the lips extending out enough for him to get a good launch into the horde. It seemed some muffing looking critter had gotten pulled into the flurry of angry, mask wearing fiends. With another jump he landed on the cage which the little Moomba had escaped from in a flurry of teeth and claws. Spinning his blades he connected them into his thief's sword, the Ogre's powers releasing in a his of dark energy, as its blinding effects rippled through its length.
The tailed rogue would drop down to lend the muffin cat a hand -- er, paw. "Watch out!" With a flying kick the rouge would attempt to catch another goblin in the face, spinning the long blade to catch one to his right, and another incoming to his left. Spinning the blades threateningly he would fall into a ready stance, his weapon held out behind him and left hand forward. "You okay lil guy?" It was hard to tell with the monsters sometimes, but this orange kitten hardly seemed allies with the goblins. Though Zidane has made a terrible miscalculation. T-that sure was a lot of goblins coming in. What was that old guy thinking?!
The Ogre: The Ogre uses the combined magical force of the twin Mage Mashers to provide the chance to inflict the Blind status on opponents, diminishing their ability to attack, by over half, for a one post duration. This is a passive ability and has a 10% (above 90 on a d100 roll) chance of inflicting blind when the sword strikes an enemy.
Jump Boost: Raises Zidane's normal, vertical jump from 4m (15ft) to 6m (20ft) when not in trance. [Passive]

~Is Your Heart Still Mine?~ I | Miss | You
“Now dears,” A voice slightly sweet came from the lips of the Darkling who drew back his fragmented blades. The wire sliced through the air as he would whirl it about readily to cast it forth once more, The dark swirling clouds giving a simple glint in the darkness as he would look to the individuals. “I deeply admire your affections for one another, and...although I do like to watch...”
It was true. He did like to watch. Though that was not the point.
Delivery was of his point was not swift. The tip end of the snake-sword was however as it was cast forth once again towards another one of the Goblins mangling the dresser. Ribbons of unmentionables were lying about defeated. Silk, cotton, and glistening little jewels were scattered. Sure, it was careless summoning the one favorite dresser among many that he liked that held some nice clothing, but for goodness sake, the blonde was cute! He did not plan for this battle to drag on longer than it had. Fortunately for him, the individuals that were around him were quite strong. Even the massive summoned being had seemed to making an impressive light show.
Still, it was not enough to curtail the darkling’s worry.
“A crime against fashion is happening right before our eyes! I at least would like to leave something to wear for the after party.”
His arm casting back and his amber eyes looking over his shoulder to the individuals who were all chummy. That previous prick of jealousy driving deeper although he could not fathom for the life of him what it was doing there. His hunger for their hearts filled with those cream white pure emotions was one thing, but the familiarity was another.
“...I do plan to be intimate with you all later, after all. I would like to have something left to wear.”
With impure intentions and even more impure movement, the figure would begin to pivot on the heel of his wooden geta and spin about in a frantic dance as he drawn closer to the middle of the plaza. Grace and agility carried him closer to the targets who were distracted with the dresser that they were attempting to maul. They would have never expected the rampaging four-legged wooden frame charging through with the force of a bull to knock them forth and scatter them. Whichever were not reduced to a trampled sheet of smelly flesh or unconscious mass would be airborne and the victim of a whipping snake sword that lashed through the air attempting to snatch anything from the air like prey to a cobra’s strike.
None of the faces were familiar, even if their hearts were not strong. It was not the same thorn of a feeling he had before when he met certain figures or saw them aloof in the worlds. Their visages as familiar as the descriptive text on a book and come to life right before his very eyes. It escaped him, little thoughts lost in the carnage that he was creating by trying to save the last pieces of priceless couture that spilled from mangled dresser that flung open its doors spewing out what was left of its dangerous contents in a last ditch effort to defend itself and its contents.
Cool downs: Summon (Heartless): N/A (Until last one is destroyed)

Normally the arrival of competitors weren’t a good thing profit-wise, but honestly the lack of clumsy coquetry from either braggadocios primate or (…. wait wait was that the Queen? No couldn't be...) a vaguely familiar young woman made them allies in a more existential sense.
“Let us focus on the monsters rather then strained metaphors,” stammered Blaise through a rising blush to his marigold clad companion as he struggled to get a clean shot without carbonizing conjured furniture or the youth proving unnerving proficient with those daggers. “Maybe if we…”
All became an eardrum shattering roar as the Queen called Heaven’s Justiciar onto the early plane. Blaise had to blink back a wash of glare and piercing incandescence behind his shut eyelids as the Esper bathed the approaching troupe in fulmination. After the Ramuh departed and world gained color and definition again, Blaise realized that unless he seized the moment, this possible royal entourage would make short work of the valuable targets. Cough a bit through the incantation, Blaise unleashed a deluge of seawater from his mouth that crashed with river-like force into the part of square not caught up in the melee. Blaise hoped the conductive water from Aqua Breath might spread Ramuh’s electricity to other bounties, theoretically at least.
While he might’ve wanted to continue the assault more directly, Blaise valued an intact epidermis over even lost goblinoid capital, one had to draw the line somewhere after all. There was a commotion on one side of the Judgement Blast’s perimeter. Picking his way over charred stone and shielding his face against the smell of burnt ozone and overcooked goblin. Blaise eventually happened upon the simian knife-ace with the adorably fuzzy lovechild of a Coeurl and Moogle who'd extricated himself from a cage.
“Excellent!” Blaise exclaimed. A series of gestures brought frothing emerald acid bubbling up in one palm, presumably for the purpose of burning through a certain tangerine hide with promising hat potential. “Oh wait me check the bounty chart,” he said to Zidane, as if to resolve some possible squabble about who got which part of the orange leonine creature point-wise. “What?!” Blaise protested with a boyish pout that drew sandy brows downward after scrutinizing a parchment in his free hand and not finding the Moomba's blood-price delineated there. “He’s worthless!”
1) Blaise used Aqua Breath to try and catch some Goblins without hitting Zidane

At first, the Goblins weren't all that phased by the sudden appearance of the unknown being. When a great pillar of lightning crashed down in the center of the crowd, they were more than phased- Blasted apart and charred, in fact. A number of them stopped to assess what had just happened, only to be overtaken by an incoming tide of water washing over them and the remaining electricity in the air. Before they could reach the fight, they were added to the thunderous toll that soon fell and faded just like the first few victims of the hunt.
The others were making quick work of the Goblins as well, slashing out as they may and removing many of their targets with their methods of preference.
Though they were inefficient in the starting seconds, they had adapted to the changing odds and even come out on top of the swarm, but it was still not the end. The streets roared as more Goblins ran in, a yet grander number being drawn to the chaos than before. The sidewalk appliances were trampled, and windows shattered as some leapt through from inside nearby buildings. A panel of slate was even lifted up as some came up from beneath the road itself. Such a massive number could not have been held in the supplied cages, let alone hidden from view when the hunters first came to the city, so how could they possibly be here now..?
The horde closed in, nearly reaching the hunters, but they stopped in place as the skies dimmed. It was nothing like the clouds before. Something far more tangible than stormy weather was above them, and was either so close or so massive so as to blot out the sun. When they looked up, that was when they saw it: A huge, burning hunk of metal soaring through the air, with tubes and engines falling from its sides as the whole thing came apart. Many Goblins had already begun to flee when they realized it was falling toward them. Most didn't have the time to, and the steel monstrosity crashed through a building at the north end of the plaza, lodging itself into the ground and releasing a shockwave that knocked away all of the plaza's occupants, including the Goblins that tumbled over each other in the force's wake. A large number collided with walls and signs, and soon perished before they could ever learn how or why that huge thing had come so close without anyone seeing.
When the dust had settled, it was possible to get a good look at what the offending object was. Brown and orange metal plate formed the outer shell of a multi-story rocket ship which, until a few moments ago, was probably flying through the air with its upper half not being completely detached. Now, it was a collage of doors, engines, pipes and plate, with one such circular door having ended up at ground-level after the carnage was done with. The hatch turned in place, but soon caught in place and disconnected from the ship entirely, tipping away from the wall and colliding loudly with the road to reveal a dark pit of mystery on the other side. From the darkness crept a much smaller body than the door could possibly have been meant for, standing three feet at best, though it may be difficult to tell from the given distance. One thing was clear, though. Even if it wasn't the same kind as that which came from the Mist, this leather-bound stranger was just as much a Goblin at the rest- Just, a smaller one with a much bigger house.
He swayed on his feet, travelling down the door-turned-ramp for a few steps before seeing the hunters. "Come to newlands, but still uplanders, uplanders, uplanders everywhere!" he shouted in lament, stamping his feet weakly. With his tantrum passed, he drew a remote from an unseen pocket, slamming a finger against a large red button. In response, a cannon on the opposite side of the ship fired several times, launching several packages that arced through the air before landing in the plaza. Four blocky machines landed in the corners and began to hum with power while a fifth, more precise object landed in the center. Its impact cracked the concrete, and immediately afterward four metal legs shot out to grasp at it, lifting it upward while a body spun and telescoped into an oblong cannon, a set of plates flipping out on the side to form a chair that actually looked quite comfortable thanks to the cushions which soon inflated on their inner sides.
The new Goblin strolled up, climbed into the seat and pressed several buttons in succession. "No more! No more uplanders for Blue-hand Taplocks!" A blue bubble formed around him and his machine as the four engines roared to life, and the cannon's telescoping barrel began to spin as its inside glowed fiercely. Cackling with satisfaction that his machine worked, Taplocks took hold of a joystick on the cannon's control panel. "Taplocks will quickburn them all!" he declared. Gyun perks as he is assisted by a strange and rambunctious looking monkey boy! He is about to respond to this discerning gentleman's consideration when he hears from nearby, something strange, curious, and honestly a bit insulting. Who's worthless? The Moomba turns to the source of the exclamation to find a very uncouth fellow directing the statement right AT him.. and also brandishing what appears to be a very unfriendly glob of... something. Things are about to turn a bit aggressive in the immediate vicinity as the Moomba has no intention of being hunted, but anything that might have come of that is immediately dispelled by the whistling coming from above, Gyun looks up in time to see flaming debris dropping through the clouds and fog, and has just enough time to hop off his feet and tuck himself into a ball before the whole mess comes crashing crashing down.
The moomba's form spirals through the air, blasted back, but curled as he is he does not travel at speed like the goblins do, and instead remains at a somewhat more manageable velocity. Still, his body ends up meeting a building at the south end of the plaza, gracefully planting all four feet to the surface and flipping down to the street below once the forces had passed. The feline gives a confused quirk of his head as a new creature leaves the half collapsed and clearly poorly constructed structure. Which isn't to say that it was shoddily built, just that it seems to have been built with a reckless disregard for any safety or stability considerations. It must have been some form of ship that did not travel well... The creature then begins ranting. Okay, so, it speaks! for a given value, like himself, and from the sudden cacophony of cannon blasts and the equipment that sets itself up in the immediate area, definitely NOT friendly, especially if that glowing hot barrel has anything to do about it.
Gyun's mind is immediately struck with numerous ideas about how to deal with this situation, gaining a devious grin on his furry little face as he scans carefully over the machine itself, which looks simple enough to operate, then the supporting equipment around the plaza. The heaviness in the air, the peculiar hum, the aggressively unreasonable glow. It's magitech! He rubs his paws together in glee and cackles a little bit at the thought of turning such a weapon on its master, but realizes that would be terribly cruel and also something he very much would not be able to accomplish alone, so for now it's binned. Out of a long list of options, each generally more impractical than the last, Gyun decides on a much more practical solution and sprints to the southeast section of the plaza at top speed, positioning himself directly between the generator and the weapons platform. He then focuses his attention on the generators around him, feeling the magic...
The moomba stands up upon his hind legs, braced with a strong stance. He claps his paws together, focusing heavily in order to Drawcast! then plants them down and bristles up on all fours. The moomba uses this opportunity to attempt to draw as much magical energy from the northeast generator as possible, let it take whatever form it will, and link it to another target, shunting it into preferably the northwest generator as rapidly as possible. He has no idea what form the magic will take, as he has no manner of assessing the equipment to such a degree, but from the look of it he doubts any of it will react positively to this course of action. He hopes that he doesn't have to redirect targets, he can, but it is very much a pain... his primary targets are the generators, but if all of them end up destroyed, he'll have no choice but to direct it it at the goblin. Gyun watches the goblin intensely to see how the machine is operated so that he may respond more quickly to its movements. In his mind, with the way he has positioned himself, there are three possibilities for how things will play out with this in the immediate future, he readies himself to leap for safety at a moment's notice.
Gyun attempts to drawcast the strongest available magic from one generator into another.
