Tournament Reviews This template is to be used for all Tournament reviews. It is the same form that staff uses. Please copy and paste the code from the bottom into the appropriate match review thread that has been created by the staff. Please do not create your own thread. You cannot review a thread that your character participated in. For every knowledgeable and well written review, you will gain 20 munny to the character account you post the review with. You may only post one review per thread. Please be sure that your review is detailed and informed. Site Rules still apply to raid reviews, so be polite and respectful. Everything a member posts is to be read as constructive criticism and is not to be taken as an attack. Any issues should be reported directly to a staff member. Damage Inflicted and Taken: What powers were used and what damage taken should be reviewed here, as well as the effects of any powers used. Basically, which side dealt more and which side took more damage. Key Points:- Overall damage inflicted
- Strategic use of items
- Overall combative dominance
Questions to Ask Yourself:How much damage would that skill have inflicted on the target? Would a skill be super effective against the character, such as using a potion against someone inflicted with zombie. Who caused the most damage? Which side would have probably won the fight. Skill and Style: This isn't for it being well written, but the creative style and effect of their strategy and if it also had a imaginative visual. Key Points:- In-Character Combat Style
- Skills used wisely
- Use of weaknesses and strength
Questions to Ask Yourself: Did the member stick to their character's fighting style? Did they set them up in a way that would have been hard to defend against? Did that character use their unique/individual fighting style, or 'X-factor' to their best advantage? Did they use their known written powers in such a way that they normally wouldn't use them? Did someone feel out-of-character? Who controlled the battle? Who was more dominant with how the flow of battle went against the other? Did a character seem to be reacting to attacks more than being the one to inflict them? Did one player keep the other on their toes more than the other? Did one character seemed more defensive, calm and collected than the other? Did one person execute an ingenious strategy to win? Did one character identify the other's weaknesses or use their opponent's strength against them? Did a character start at a loss, only to turn it around and gain the flow and control of the battle in their favor? Did a character seem to just use attacks and throw them at the opponent, or used them in a way that was hard for the opponent to fight/defend/counter against? Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: How well did the member write and describe their actions and surroundings. This also includes if a character did not explain themselves or were not justified in their movements or dodging. Key Points:- Stayed In-Character
- Easy to Understand
- Overall fairness
Questions to ask yourself: Did they justify certain movements and their character's fight style? Whether their post was short or long, where they able to explain their actions to the reader and get their point across? Did you question any actions or abilities a character did make? How well did you understand their writing? Did they dodge an attack that should have otherwise harmed them? Did they ignore or shrugged off attacks or write that the attacks had no effect on them? Did they seem to know something about their opponent that otherwise their character wouldn't know? Did a character do something you felt was not fair or use a power not listed/misuse a power listed on their application? Who had the best sportsmanship, and was fair to the other team in taking damage? Did someone take a hit that they probably could have dodged? Did a team take hits that they knew they couldn't dodge realistically? Damage Inflicted and Taken: This was one of the best fight threads I have read on this entire site! Damn this was one hell of a roller coaster! This one was probably the easiest for me to grade. Black Waltz was the biggest key to this entire section. He sent out the most pain, but also received and blocked the most, which I will discuss more on later. Rina and Zidane both took the fair share of beating, and were the only two standing at the end of the thread. Vivi, dealt the second most damage in my opinion, but also took the most. All in all I'd say that BW3 and Rina dealt the most and Zidane and Vivi took the most. If this fight were to continue, I do think that Zidane would have taken the upper hand with his superior speed, but I can only grade what's been posted, and that's gotta be with me giving the nod to BW3 and Rina [******BW3/Rina******] Skill and Style: This one, believe it or not, decided the outcome of the entire fight to me. Tactics decide a lot, and this time, it was the most important factor in the fight. I think BW3 and Rina both showed a lot of skill, particularly Rina with the way she was thinking on her feet as much as she was. Black Waltz showed great tactics by focusing on Vivi, but that's also what worked against him. Zidane did awesome coaching Vivi and taking control. Vivi worked amazingly well with his partner and the two were able to form clear strategies to turn the tables on BW3 and Rina. Black Waltz loses points here for going rogue, and party turmoil ended up costing this category for them. [******Zidane/Vivi******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: All four of these guys need praise for how well they did here. I'm sure as hell glad I didn't fight either team this round. Alright, I really wish this was two separate categories. In terms of Descriptive Writing, I think Zidane and Vivi take this, but by a very slim margin. BW3 and Rina both were very clear and concise in their actions, but it was easier to me to visualize Zidane and Vivi's actions. Sportsmanship...goddamn I had a helluva time trying to figure out which way to take this one. On one hand, BW3 dodged a TON of attacks early on. On the other, he earned himself a ton of extra credit with the overloading of his system angle, and Rina did amazingly to earn credit for the duo as well. This is a team that wouldn't have even had the party turmoil to lose Skill and Style without the incredible way they kept to their characters. BW3 absolutely WOULD have been focused on revenge after the immense hit to his pride. Zidane and Vivi both did exceptionally well here, and I do wanna point out how spot on Vivi had been with staying in character. This was exceptionally shown with Vivi's trip towards the end of the fight. As soon as I read that, I immediately thought "Damn, that's good. That's good Vivi RPing right there." I just cannot pick a side on this one. [******Draw******] Raid Winner:

Damage Inflicted and Taken: Very entertaining read from all parties. I felt very engaged reading it and think everyone here deserves a warm clap. This category is rather tough and I will get into it later into the review. Overall, it seemed the most damage came from Rina and Black Waltz. Zidane and Vivi took a lot of status affects- more so than what they were pushing out. [******Winner - Rina/Waltz ******] Skill and Style: I'm going to end up giving a draw here. Both parties definitely showed skill. Maybe I don't understand battles as much as I should, but I definitely feel that Waltz and Rina were running the show in regards to the flow of the battle. I'll get more into it on the next part, but I don't think its on Vivi and Zid. Vivi threw some stuff back but man, he was singled out hard by Waltz. Zidane had a lot of interesting skills that I was interested in seeing come into fruition as well. [******Winner - Draw******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: I couldn't help but notice the confirmed hits from Rina and Waltz's side. I was surprised how much Zidane and Vivi owned what was being dished out to them. There was a part on Vivi's post stating that he couldn't even register all the damage that came his way. They still took it like champs however and I applaud them for that. Ultimately this decides the winner for me. I just wasn't a fan of confirming the two being trapped, damaged, and whatnot- I would have preferred seeing a standard among all of them; where their damaging attacks (that weren't stated as confirmed hits in ability descriptions) were done aimed at the target, not done to the target - I just feel it creates an awkward POV when making a reply as hits were already confirmed to their character with no chance to react. Again, I'm sorry if this is just me not understanding battles; but I've got to give it to the sports that put up with it ultimately. Still a great thread, very entertaining read; great job to everyone that was involved. [******Winner - Zidane and Vivi******] Raid Winner: ***** Zidane and Vivi ******

Damage Inflicted and Taken:
So first and foremost, I want to say that this entire battle on me on the literal edge of my seat, constantly eager to see what would transpire in the following rounds. However, I will say that after reviewing the entirety of the thread that both were quite fair with the amount of damage they'd dealt and received. None the less, I will have to give this one towards Rina and Waltz, they effectively lead both Vivi and Zidane on a very finely orchestrated dance - despite both of our mage falling to their sustained injuries. I would venture to say that if this battle drug out that there is a good chance that Zidane would have emerged victorious, not to belittle Rina's capabilities, however Zidane is a speedster and is capable of dishing out massive damage without remorse and in the cast that he inflicted blind of Silence, it would strip her of a vast majority of her arsenal.
[******RINA&BW3 ******] Skill and Style:
This category of was notably harder to judge than the category above. I say this because I've had the pleasure of threading with each person involved in this thread at least once throughout my tenure on the site. So I can attest that each has a very unique and diverse writing style, each of which was showcased excellently during the extensive length of this battle. I will say that I felt the Black Waltz 3's sinister and ruthless demeanor was very in-character and that Rina's opposition to his course in the midst of battle was an interesting twist - albeit, it was one I foresaw coming because Rina is soft-hearted and compassionate. I will say that Zidane and Vivi's strife between being turned against one another was another interesting dynamic, so I will have to ultimately give it to them.
[******Zidane & Vivi ******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship:
So I feel like both parties were very fair in the damage that they dealt and received - implementing a number of rolls, percentages and other factors to ensure that there was an undeniably fair precession that existed. I will say Vivi's Dual-Cast' secondary effect and implementation of the Trance effect during the battle definately was a dynamic that just simply blew me away. I also like how Vivi's final action was the very same action that he took against Black Waltz 3 during their encounter on the Airship, so perhaps I am biased because I definately loved how that it went full-circle. It is for that very reason, that I'd like to award this category to Zidane and Vivi.
[******Vivi & Zidane ******] RAID WINNER: ***** VIVI & ZIDANE ******

First of all, more formal notes aside, this battle was to me by far the most narratively intriguing of all the fights, with the interactions between characters making it far more then the sum of its parts. This is quite hard to pull off in a thread focused on a staged battle, and all writers involved deserves major cred for that. Damage Inflicted and Taken: This fight started out extremely one-sided (more on that in part 3) with Waltz and Rina completely controlling the flow of battle with no chance of retaliation. This was rectified later on but Vivi and Zidane weren’t quite able to catch up despite a very strong showing in the second half. . [******Winner Rina and Black Waltz******] Skill and Style: This battle was heavy on style, with some of the best character-based combat i’ve seen. I’ll try not to belabor what others have already covered, but all the writers here allowed the narrative to shape their combat rather then all too common sacrificing the first for the later. Zidane and Vivi had touching camaraderie, while the palpable tension between Rina and Waltz was well written, and the later going rogue quite in character. All are deserving of much praise in this respect, leading to me have mixed feelings in naming a victor at all to be honest. I would like to give particular praise to Black Waltz here in the descriptions of abilities in a way that was suitably ominous and dynamic. However, for me this section is decided by the difference in strategy. Rina and Waltz, especially in the start, relied heavily on Invulnerability/Omnidodge and Stun-locking, two of the most power-gamey and un-interactive strategies around. Comparing this to Zidane and Vivi’s near-fraternal cooperation and more creative tactics decided the contest [******Winner Zidane and Vivi******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: Firstly, the writing in this thread was top notch, and was a great read. Everyone help make this happen, with strong characterization from all involved, with Vivi’s Trance and existential struggle being particularly notable. With all that said, I am going to be honest and lay out some criticism. The use of unconditional dodge effects in the first half of this fight went well beyond strategic into gratuitous. Four (even more if we include Rina shields) rounds of invulnerability has no place in sporting thread in my opinion, and thats not getting into the stun issue. However, that unpleasantness aside, Black Waltz seemed to realize that part way through and rectified it, which deserves sportsman’s praise on its own. Another issue that came up was some perhaps unintentional god-modding, wherein Rina and Waltz wrote their attacks hitting their opponents, which is a no-go. Rina also seems to ignore Zidane’s weapon effects accidently. These concerns aside, both teams contributed to an awesome thread, but Zidane and Vivi showed more sporting self-restraint in their ability choices [******Winner Vivi and Zidane******] Raid Winner: ***** Winner Vivi and Zidane ******
