Rina had never been smothered before, but she imagined it felt something like this. The hand that Blackout was gripping and the hand he had on her waist felt like they were searing her skin right off of her flesh but at the same time felt like they were squeezing her into a box that had no bottom. With her eyes closed she felt like her and Blackout were falling into a deep void, the feeling making her stomach knot up inside of her. Soon she felt like she couldn't breathe, and even though her senses were telling her to stay with Blackout, her self preservation won out and she was able to tear herself away from the man. The girl blinked her eyes open, hearing Blackout's soft voice like he was still in front of her, but not able to see him anywhere. Almost to the point of panic Rina spun around trying to get her bearings. She was no longer inside of her home. Far from it. Rina found herself in the center of Darkness, with no pathway to escape. She had been here many times in her nightmares, but this... this felt entirely too real. With a sob starting to form in her throat, Rina started to run forward trying to find her way in the maze of Darkness. "B-Blackout! Help me! Where are you?!" Rina continued to run, occasionally calling out for the stranger that had something to do with all of this. Even though Rina was unable to see her feet in the pitch black, she still managed to somehow trip over them, causing her to sprawl out onto the ground. With a whimper, Rina lifted up her head to see that a door had appeared before her. Struggling upright, Rina looked over the door, hoping this would be her exit. It was a heavy, old looking door with shiny black glass windows all throughout. It thrummed with an energy that made Rina's hair stand on end, but she went towards anyway. Grasping the handle, she tried to open it, screaming in frustration when she found it locked. Coarse whispers started to find their way into her ear and she tried again, jerking the handle violently, trying to see if there was someone on the other side of the door. As the voices became louder, Rina saw a glance of someone on the other side, and the tug in her stomach confirmed who it was. "Blackout! Help me! I'm right here! Help!"
"what is your name, child… i can feel your other… what is your name, child..."As she called for help, Rina heard the loudest voice of them all and it made her turn around, fear filling her bones. "Who... who's there?!" ---------------------------------------- Suggested Listening: Roxas's Theme/The Other Promise Fear

CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. for future and dreams they're fleeting, retreatingDarkness stirred as if a heavy wind was blowing. Faint lightning-like streaks of canary and marigold yellows emitted in the distance rapidly, luring one’s eyes into a dreamy haze. They’d dance upon one’s view, teasing each other until they’d succumb to each other. The streaks would form a gothic horror of indescribable fluids with a mind of its own. It’d trash violently together, putting together a sentient humanoid figure, amber shelled and all. The most outstanding feature was the heartless insignia that seemed to crawl upon it’s helm. The being’s attire spawned from nothing, dressing the creature in it’s usual garb. It’s blinding white eyes locked eyes with the frightened woman in front of it. “I am what your nightmare seeks when it's drawn out. I am something more,” Fear would speak behind the helm, but it’s voice would resonate around them as constant whispers, surely to disorient the weak. The heartless stepped forward and made a gesture as if it were inhaling the air around him. One step towards the girl was one step closer to the darkness that had its clutches on the human. Inside the consciousness of Fear, a chuckle was had as he learned of their name. “Rina. You’ve done this to him, you know. I rarely am let out to play.” The latter sentence was stated with a sinister sneer. “Your other side is so potent, raw,” the creature stated with wonder, referring to the darkness within her. “I sense that it craves a release; do you feel it too?” The echoing whispers would seem more within Rina’s head, as if Fear was speaking to her heart. The being then started to take several steps forward towards the alluring abyss in her heart that Blackout found difficult to resist. it's okay i promiseTAGGGED | NOTES I didn't know what to do with Shiro right now. Put the gun in my mouth and pull the trigger
I feel so alive hereRina's eyes were wide as she watched the humanoid creature form from lightning and darkness. Her dark blue irises were hidden by her blown pupils which in turn were locked onto the whites of the man's eyes. That's all she could see. Just white, no other color to discern. She tore her gaze away from the unnerving site to take in the rest of the form. She recognized the Heartless symbol instantly...but had never encountered one who could speak intelligently or one who made her want to draw closer... His deep echoing voice bounced around her mind, making her skin crawl and her heart hurt. The spot where Darkness touched her so long ago. Yet she continued to go forward. “I am what your nightmare seeks when it's drawn out. I am something more.”She believed him. Every word he said seemed to hit her in the chest like a bolt, making her chest ache before the feeling washed away like a wave. "W-what is this? What are you doing to me?" Her words came breathless and frightened. She pressed her hand against her chest and felt it. The soothing coolness of Darkness. She quickly glanced down at herself and saw that her body was bare and colored in the shades of the universe, shimmering with stars. Coming from her chest, from her heart and soul, were soft tendrils of the dark power within her. They were leaving her...and going to him. She gasped in horror, clasping both hands over her heart, but the tendrils continued to float through her fingers. "N-no!" “Your other side is so potent, raw."“I sense that it craves a release; do you feel it too?”As the man stalked closer to her his voice became so unbearable in her head, and the pain that started in her heart began to spread to the rest of her body. Rina crumpled to her knees in front of him and began to scream as the ache turned into a crushing pain the felt endless. More than once in her life Rina had been tortured or beaten or close to death and never wished for it to claim her. This time was different. A pain she hadn't felt before, a pain she couldn't describe was upon her and all she wanted was to die. "Please...stop. What are you...doing...what? Stop...!"All at once the pain stopped and Rina was able to draw shallow breaths. This must have been it. Death. The last thing Rina saw before her eyes slid closed was the bright white eyes and evil grin of Fear looming over her. Put the gun in my mouth, it tastes so bitter

CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. I don't know what to say
but I'm going to want you till the stars evaporate “Wake up, *****” a gentle voice whispered in the soldier’s ear, the latter of the command being inaudible. Soft strands of silky hair would stroke the man’s nose, putting a warm smile on Shiro’s face as his eyes fluttered open. In sight, would be the girl that had flashed into his consciousness earlier, putting the state of the man’s eyes into shock. How could it be her? He was just with Rina. Where was Rina? Looking around him, he was laying down upon a warm plain filled with grass and flowers, water flowing through a small creek could be heard in the distance. The intellect sat up, confused, trying to puzzle what was happening. “Who are you?” Shiro asked the girl that was kneeling beside him. She had short raven hair, wearing a black sweatshirt with sleeves that extended past her hands. She had two eyes that sparkled with the color, indigo. There was something that drew the man to her, but he couldn’t gather why. Was he in a dream? Was Rina in his dream and was he finally awake? No, that didn’t make sense. “You don’t remember me? That hurts,” she stated, at first surprised and then saddened, turning her head to the side in disappointment. Shiro felt as if he should feel bad about the situation, but his mind couldn’t be side tracked as he worried for Rina. He couldn’t be in a dream when he had met Rina- it was so real, but then why did this girl in front of him feel so familiar? The intellect’s head raced to assess the situation and then it hit him. Blackout fumbled to grab the dog tags that rested upon his chest, ripped it off, flipping it, and then held it at a reading distance. Immediately, the girl placed her small hands over the text, as she turned back to the look at the soldier. “We could be here forever, you know? You and me. Remember how you felt?” she asked with a grin of innocence, one that slightly motioned Shiro to forget about every problem on his mind. "Please...stop. What are you...doing...what? Stop...!"The loner recognized the fear that emitted from the faint murmur that seemed to come from the distance creek. The analyst put it all together at that moment as his concern to feel the warmth he had felt with the artisan had completely taken over, to know that Rina was safe and not afraid. He pulled away from the girl, revealing the letters upon his dog tags. -tuokcalB”“You can’t put me in a box, Fear.”The once sincere grin of the beautiful girl’s face twisted into a coy smile, her purple eyes flashing into a vibrant yellow. “We can do this the hard way,” the sinister voice of the heartless within muttered out of the girl’s lips. Suddenly, a blade emerged from her chest abruptly, causing the girl that was possessed by Fear to spatter blood over the man. Shiro gasped in pure shock, feeling a heavy weight in his chest, as a single tear rolled down his eye. Then it all faded away into darkness. Shiro didn’t understand why he felt so hurt and even a sensation of guilt. He had never met the girl before, but she felt so real. --- “Can you feel it, Blackout? Can you feel the vigor channeling through us…?” the whispers amongst the dark echoed as triumphant streaks of gold started to flash violently as Shiro’s vision came into place. He could see his amber armored nemesis vibrating with pleasure as tendrils of a violet hazed figure surged into Fear’s figure. The man could feel it, and he could feel it’s strength. It felt good, but all too familiar. “No! Rina!” Shiro yelled, scrambling himself up to his feet and stumbling into a charge at his parasite. He tackled the golden armored being and then it all faded into white. --- Blackout opened his eyes to see the closed ones of Rina’s, their lips still locked together. Gasping for air as it felt Shiro hadn’t breathed for a millennium, Shiro collapsed backwards from their embrace into the couch, panting. The intellect believed to be good at words at times, but he had no words for this situation. He was feeling a convoluted entanglement of emotions that could not be put into words. “I’m sorry,” he muttered between breaths, attempting to connect his eyes with Rina once again. “I don’t understand what happened.”

With a sharp gasp Rina's eyes flew open. Even though she could plainly see Blackout's visage it was hard to shake the image of Fear's face from her mind. The way his sharp voice had just slipped so easily into her mind...it made chills run down her spine. The man had put distance between as they had come back from the dark reverie and Rina did so as well, finding herself on the opposite end of the couch. The plush armrest was between them and Rina had her hands braced as she was trembling from head to toe, unsure if her legs could support her. Blackout was apologizing to her but she couldn't raise her head to meet his eyes, afraid of what she may see. “ I don’t understand what happened.” Rina let out a huff of nervous laughter. She had no answer that was any better. Rina could almost have discarded the whole thing as another nightmare if not for the fact that her chest was still aching from having her Darkness ripped from her soul. But had that actually happened or was it all an illusion put on by Fear? Inhaling, Rina steeled herself and looked up into Blackout's face. Relief went through her as she met with concerned, blue eyes. No solid white to be seen. And there it was again. That stupid, infuriating pull towards the stranger. That...that was no illusion. Rina's finger tightened into the fabric of the couch, knuckles becoming blanched. She would not give in to that pull. Not this time. Not until she understood it more. Rina broke her gaze with Shiro and looked down at her hands. A sane person would have made this dangerous man leave at the first moment that they could, but Rina needed some answers... " Who was that? What was that?" Rina asked breathlessly. She idly touched the aching scar on her chest. " Why did he want me?" Fear

CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. so say the word and I'll be running back to find you
a thousand armies won't stop me, I'll break throughWhat was the darkness that crept beneath the soldier’s skin? Shiro could feel the urge from Fear within to reply itself. Was there a simple way to answer? The intellect’s mind ran, pushing the heartless’ thoughts back and attempting to formulate an answer. Once achieved, Shiro opened his mouth to answer but then a breath of silence escaped his lips at the sight of how afraid Rina was of him. He was almost speechless. Sure, people were afraid of the heartless and any public eye, that would spot him, would catch a shiver of fear. However, nobody knew the soldier first and then met the monster; not until Rina. Blackout was traveling uncharted waters with her. “ I have a heartless; a parasite that resides in me,” he started to explain, his eyes peering towards the couch to avoid what he may see in the artisan’s eyes. “I don’t know if it is a part of me or… If it's a curse from my past life. When I woke in Traverse Town, when I’d think, I could hear its whispers; and I was branded just like the rest of them.”Upon hearing Rina’s concern for why his darkness longed for her, Shiro paused and thought, reaching up to the back of his head, scratching it in confusion. It sent the intellect through a cycle of hindsight, playing out the events in his head to put his thoughts into words. “When I stopped it, it was in an embrace with you; well not you, but something more. I could feel it’s strength, and I believe the heartless wanted to bask in it. I’m sorry that I didn’t stop it sooner,” the soldier apologized, getting himself to his feet from the couch slowly. His eyes then connected with hers. “I should see myself out, shouldn’t I?”It was at that moment, he couldn’t decide how to proceed. He felt so exposed and didn’t know how to register what he was feeling. He just knew that the girl he had just met was afraid, and if removing his presence from the situation would alter that; he’d do it. I'll soar the endless skies for only one sight

"I have a Heartless."
Rina had goosebumps erupt onto her bare arms as Blackout stated that he had a Heartless within him. She was almost tempted to call him a liar, because how could someone retain their human presence while also being a Heartless? That was not within Rina's realm of possibilities but...but there was so much conviction in his tone. So much guilt that dripped from his lips as he apologized for not getting to her sooner. Hell, Rina had seen, had felt the creature herself. Who was she to doubt that it could be living as a parasite as he had said? She had something so similar... It couldn't have been a lie. As Blackout spoke about the state that he had found Rina in within their portal of Darkness, a sharp stab went through her heart and she felt a tickling in the back of her brain. The soft voice of her Other lamenting a loss. Begging for fear to return. How close had Rina been to giving in?! "I should see myself out, shouldn’t I?”
It physically hurt Rina to hold back the no that was on the tip of her tongue. It wasn't just her Other who wanted him to stay. Rina wanted him to stay too. She so wanted him to stay. But she swallowed hard and nodded her head yes. " Yeah. You should go." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few hours and a moonrise later Rina was sadly exiting her kitchen with a bottle of wine in her grip when something out of place caught her eye. Still lying on the ground where she had dropped it was Blackout's jacket and near unattached hood. With a soft sigh she scooped up the jacket being mindful of the swinging sewing needle and retired herself to her bedroom. Fear

CHANGE IS NON-EXISTENT WITHOUT ACTION. tell me, just tell me to stay. i’ll turn, i won’t look awayThe soldier’s heart sank as the words “You should go” started to echo throughout his flustered head. At that point, he assessed that there was a part of him that wished she’d tell him he was wrong and that he should stay. Alas, life wasn’t pretty like the endings in the numerous novels the intellect has read. Shiro had impacted Rina in all the worst ways that night- he did not belong there and he did not deserve to be forgiven. Shiro’s icy blue eyes met her navy diamonds, darkness starting to sputter across his skin. “Please, forget me,” he pleaded with sorrow in his eyes, purple shadows beginning to envelop them. A dark corridor erupted from the floor, encasing the soldier’s frame. It dissolved immediately, leaving no trace of the infected- or so he thought. His eyes would flutter open to the ceiling of his rundown room, deep in the districts of Traverse Town. The man wished he was asleep and that he was waking up from a dream, but he chuckled out of pity, realizing he had left his jacket as the hairs on his arm began to rise due to a chill. If only. That night, he’d dream of her regardless if he wanted to or not; he couldn’t avoid the everlasting handprint that Rina had made on his life that night.
