| Wishes and dreams I want to come true. The feelings I wish I could tell you. A miracle created from the things I've always believed is connected to the future. Always, always I want you to watch over me, my dear friend. |
● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside Lightning was a simple person with a forward and clear worldview. She felt that everyone could be saved and that none in this world need suffer for the mechanization of those in charge. Even now, as her homeworld was embroiled in civil war, the ideals remained. She felt that the strong did not need to control the weak. Nor sacrifice them, nor themselves. In this world they could stand together to reach utopia without such things. Lightning still felt this way, even after everything and especially after the role she had taken towards the end of it all.
"I see." She looked back to Zest. "So how is your pride after that?" She understood how that felt. Many times had she lost against her enemies and, herself.
"You defeated me. But you also saved me."
She understood all of it, but to end up here. It wasn't always about winning. She looked back to Zest as she kept her pace. Why was she here? Looking around she could not see anything, nor feel it. The Heartless that roamed the shadows kept their distance, for now, but as soon as either of them showed weakness... She stopped and looked back to Zest.
"I think, to help you." She affirmed. "I was traveling and when I woke up, here I was. I don't know about you but it reminds me of that time we first met. Someone needed help. And you look like the only one around here." She came to a stop at a junction. There seemed to be two paths in the dark path. Both led to unknown places. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Zest perhaps wasn’t selfless enough to say that he didn’t have his own pride that he followed. He always took pride in the actions he chose and in a way pride was something he had that he could show he had some akin to self-interest. His pride was not strong, but so long as he knew it was something to fight for then it was something he would fight until the end for. His fight with Garland was a battle of pride. They had their ideals and they clashed against each other. They could not accept one another because of their opposing pride and because of it their fight was eternal.
“My pride? It has taken a blow I will admit that...” Zest said closing his eyes. “that feeling of helplessness and failure stick on to me...but...at the same time I feel more motivated than I have before....” Zest said glancing over at her. “I feel a strong desire to protect, to fight on and to not be knocked down again...” Zest said closing his eyes with a soft smile forming. “perhaps, I am rather too stubborn and foolish to stay down and accept defeat, but if it is what allows me to continue to fight onwards then I don’t mind. So long as I believe in such a fight then I will fight without regret…” Zest said.
Zest had listened to Lightning’s words about how she had arrived just to save him. Though it seemed she didn’t really consciously came to assist him but he was grateful nonetheless. “Lightning, though you appear to be a rather stern and cold one, you are quite the kind and noble one” Zest said calmly even though he was one to talk, but it was something he noticed and responded to. “You bear immense power, but if I may ask, what is it that drive you to fight? What is it that you fight for and what is it that you seek?” Zest asked.

● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside It had taken Lighting several lifetimes and deep loss to learn and put aside her ego. Trepidations were the foundation of her doubt whilst denial was the building in which she sheltered her weaknesses. For a long time Lightning had supplanted the distance she had to Serah work. She justified her actions through vows of love and promises of better times, but she had played herself. That she could freeze those moments they shared growing up into a bottle was desperation at best and, at worst, ordering isolation. The fear of losing the last remnant of her family had blinded her to the darkness in the light.
Her heart became stone so it need not hurt. And come the inevitable pain she had blamed another, and another until none were left to stand in her self-made prison. She blinked from her thoughts, the past, though centuries passed, still stung like a freshly opened wound. She would never be well with the choices she had made, but she has come to accept them. Breathing or she would let her heart calm, cool gaze drifting towards the warrior of light. The Valkyrie's armor covered hand came to rest over her heart. It felt as if it would burst from get chest at any moment.
There was something about this world. It pulled deeply of her anxieties and harbored an ardor for doubt. They seemed wont to surface and create opportunity for its ilk which lie in wait in the shadows. She was distracted by the query raised by the warrior of light, her gaze drifting to towards the man, her head tilting towards the man. She would straighten up and shake her head.
"My family and friends."
And like that the light inside her made more sense.
The Valkyrie looked to the warrior of light and pointed outward. Their path was naught but darkness, but amidst the shadows was a trail of light revealed by the revelations captured in their discussion. Could it be all that one needed was to…believe? It seemed that all Zest needed to do was look forward and lead them to the end.
"What drives you through the darkness?" Her question mirroring his own, but reflecting her own curiosity. After all she only knew the warrior by his actions in that place… MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Zest was always one who was rather straight forward in the way he lived his life. To him he dedicated himself to whatever battle he faced and he focused on overcoming those challenges. Stoic and even perhaps could be considered cold could be things to describe the warrior, but he valued the warmth of his heart that was formed from the companionship he received was something he valued the most. He fought for the light and he fought for there sake. He fought so that others did not have to fight. He fought so that that precious light inside him did not get corrupted.
Zest did not know why he acted as if he didn’t know deep within. The answer was clear, but his mind had been focused on the fight. His fight with Garland, his banishment to the realm of darkness, and the meeting with Lightning was all that brought forth new resolve and reminded him of what was important. The question was asked to him and Zest couldn’t help but close his eyes as well. “My answer is the same as yours” Zest said. “though I hold no memories of my past…what I do know is that I was gifted with a precious light that resides deep within me” Zest stated as he placed his hand over his heart. “I do not know who or what gifted me this light, but this light is what made me who I am. It is a light holds a warmth and radiance that s dear to me…a remnant of someone precious” Zest stated.
Zest eyes opened as he glanced forward as a light began to shine before them in the darkness. “This light inside me, it has been strengthened by the bonds of those I care for. I wish to use this light to cast away the darkness and share the warmth of the light I feel” Zest said as he glanced over at Lightning and smiled softly. “Let us go, Light. There are those that are waiting for us” Zest said as he walked forward towards the light. The light before them would free them of the darkness, and with it perhaps they could return to those that valued so dearly.
