Mordred didn't blink at the snark nor the patronizing nickname. However, he did shake his head at such a misconception. "'Hacked' would imply that I faced any difficulty in accessing his computer. Luckily, due to the actions of certain Organization members, it was child's play." Mordred turned to face Xigbar who, at the very least, was the more aggressive of the two. Marluxia seemed to prefer to watch and be amused. Mordred merely adjusted his glasses and sighed. "And on the contrary, Master Xehanort and Xemnas were quite friendly to me... in their own way, of course. Though Xemnas seemed less friendly and more 'desperate for minions to exercise his ego over'. It was a little pathetic but an understandable problem." Mordred's eyes drifted to Marluxia as he spoke, warning him to do as Xigbar said. However, Marluxia also added the conundrum of their proximity to the Castle. Mordred's eyes went back to Xigbar, nodding his head in Marluxia's direction.
"You should do as he says. After all, your aggression WOULD draw unwanted attention, perhaps even keep you from visiting this world again in the near future. I would also add that it would look rather bad for both of you if Master Xehanort or Xemnas caught wind that you tried to destroy an ally of theirs. After all, Xemnas is still trying to fix that little project of his, hanging in the sky above his Castle. It would be a shame if he had to add a couple Hearts to it because of a simple error in judgment. But, perhaps I am mistaken and they won't do anything. What's one Nobody, after all? So..." Mordred raised his hand and pointed it right at the center of his forehead. "Shoot me, O Freeshooter, if that is what you wish. Just to make it more interesting, I won't even move. That's fair, isn't it? Though I do wonder if you wish to risk such a move. Either I speak the truth and you risk the wrath of your bosses or I lie. But that's up for you to decide." Mordred took another glance at Marluxia, as if to ask if this was sufficiently amusing to him. Mordred lowered his arms and put them behind his back.
"You may fire when ready."

A cool rip in space surrounded Xigbar's hand, distorting the air in ways inconceivable as his fingers closed around the metal grip of his precious Sharpshooter. The fabric of space itself closed up seamlessly, seemingly pulled back together by a single spin of the arrowgun. It was weighted perfectly, the pale metal points all aligning in perfect balance, regardless of their wielder's orientation in space. A truly beautiful weapon, and the Freeshooter had been fortunate enough to have been graced with two of them.
... Though he'd only need one for this job.
A flick of the wrist filed a handful of crystalline bolts neatly into their clip, the arrowgun's internal mechanisms automatically loading a single, savage round into the chamber with a faint, but audible click. With one, smooth motion the sniper hoisted the entire rifle upwards, resting the barrel on his own shoulder, as he directed his pointed stare back at the intruder. Obsidian boots crunched in the fine, rocky soil as the Freeshooter drew closer to he interloper. He paused, meeting the empty, crimson stare of the other with a cold, golden eye and a crooked grin.
"What's one Nobody?" The gunman repeated with a short, rough laugh, more akin to the sound of a dog barking than an expression of emotion. He hoped the irony wasn't lost. With that, the Seeker raised the arrowgun, and pressed the pointed barrel right into the spot that Mordred had designated. His fingers curled around the pale violet trigger...
... but the shot never came.
Arm still outstretched, the sniper let his gaze trail back towards the castle. Despite his ire at being proved wrong by the neophyte and this stranger, their logic was sound. Despite his desire to simply shower this fool in a hailstorm of bullets, he couldn't afford to draw the attention of any of Castle's residents. The Freeshooter was a reckless individual, but he wasn't stupid. He could handle one of the former Organization members in a fight, but he knew going up against all the other former apprentices at once (plus whatever backup they had amassed down there) would be suicide. This was simply not a fight he could win. The arrowgun faded away into nothingness as he dropped his hand back to his side, defeated. He turned his back, casting one watchful glance towards the castle, before pacing back towards Marluxia.
"So the old Superior is trying to reboot his little pet project?" He mused, talking to no one in particular. He hadn't seen the former Number I since his recompletion, yet he found it odd that the silver-haired Nobody had returned to his failure of a project.

This was making his mood much better after that discussion with Xigbar and for the icing on the cake, Xigbar would be to blame for escalation. Just lovely. He continued to watch at the sideline, listening to Mordred and his relationship to the superior and the master. So Xemnas was still at it? Shouldn't he have learned from his mistakes? Kind of funny, to be honest. When Xigbar rew his weapon, the other almost mocking him to pull the trigger, the smirk on his face would spread, his eyes not leaving the scene in front of him once. What would happen now? Would Xigbar just shot him and cause complete chaos? He had not known Xigbar was so.. short-fused. He had been more calm when they had their little misunderstanding just a few moments ago and now he was actually ready to draw his weapon on the other.
Marluxia had no intention of stepping in. He could use all of this to his advantage for his plan, maybe, so why bother getting his hands dirty? Sadly, Xigbar seemed to have found his self-control again in time and dropped the weapon once more, returning to him now. Also the remark about the pet-plan would have caused him to laugh almost, but he kept it to himself. He didn't want to start it with Xigbar again today.
He just shrugged at all that had been said, his arms uncrossing finally. “Let Xemnas do as he pleases, Xigbar. He will have a reason to do so, I assume.”
Now that the tense air seemed to settle again, boredom would show on Marluxia's face, a sigh escaping his lips. “What a waste of time today. I have things to do, so~”, he mused, his hand moving to the side as a portal opened with the power of his will. “~I'll be on my way. I think we will find out if Mordred is lying to us or not, once one of us asks our leader. But should he try to get involved in things he shouldn't get his nose into....”
His expression switched to something more serious, almost cold as his eyes narrowed at the strange nobody. “.. I will be taking care of this problem... Weed in our garden of darkness has to be ripped out, after all.”
With that said, he would take his leave, the portal closing behind him.

Well, that was anticlimactic. In that single non-action, Mordred had gauged what Xigbar was. He was clearly a man led by his emotions rather than his brain. He was also someone who preferred to save his own skin, if at all possible. He had looked towards the castle when he was deciding. Perhaps he knew he'd have to fight old comrades-in-arms, if what Mordred had gathered was true. Regardless, Mordred let his arm drop to the side once it was clear that Xigbar wasn't going to shoot. Then Xigbar mentioned Xemnas starting up his pet project, to which Marluxia made his rather smug reply. It would seem that he was going to double-check Mordred's words on his own. Smart, if a bit futile. MX and Xemnas would both say, at the very least, that Mordred would be a useful tool. That would be enough to convince Marluxia, especially if the pink-haired one wanted to use Mordred for his own plans. This had proved to be a very interesting venture. Marluxia then left, leaving Mordred with the Freeshooter. Finally, he could speak.
"Yes, he is. He seems to consider it his child, considering he seemed less than thrilled when I called it his 'broken project'. Then again, perhaps the truth stung his pride a bit. As it is, he has asked me to tithe Hearts to his project, which I agreed to. After all, I am curious as to its power once completed." Mordred looked around at the rather empty street. "And to think, I was hoping for some more Hearts to add. Didn't think I'd come across you two. Though, I am rather surprised that the former Organization's Number II would be working with one of its traitors. I wouldn't have pegged you for the forgiving type." Mordred then turned away from Xigbar and started to leave. "Regardless, much like Marluxia, I also have work to do and must be on my way. It was... interesting to meet you, Xigbar... if that is still your name, of course."

"As if. That 'broken project' of his is old news. He's wasting his time." Braig turned to face the other Seeker, his dead grin fading into a more serious facade. Something about Xemnas' plans still struck the sniper as odd. The New Organization didn't need the old Superior's discounted, off-brand Kingdom Hearts anymore. Not when they were so close to the real deal.
'Maybe I should pay the ol' 'Numero Uno' a visit...' The sniper's brow furrowed in thought as he swung his gaze back around, careful to not let Four-Eyes over there stay in his blind spot for too long. If he was telling the truth, than Xemnas wouldn't be that hard to track down either. No doubt he would still be perched atop the Castle That Never Was ('Who names these things, anyway?') pining over that blasted moon. Truthfully, it was almost pathetic.
The sniper didn't bother honoring the assassin with a response. A 'weed in the garden'... A bit dramatic, but Braig didn't mind as long as he would be the one pulling them up. He watched as a portal opened up, swallowing the assassin up as he left to consult their leader. Scoffing at the fading portal, his brows furrowed in brief irritation. He didn't need the old coot telling him how to handle things. Braig turned back towards Mordred, his arms crossed as he listened to the other one talk.
"Forgiving? Heh... As if. Wasn't my call to have 'tulip' back in the first place." Braig deadpanned, gesturing towards the faded portal with his head. Him and pinky were on the same side now, but the sniper still wanted to give him a 'warning shot' of sorts for complicating the Castle Oblivion situation. That being said, the sniper wasn't above giving Marluxia a hard time whenever he had a chance.
"Be a good boy now..." The sniper purred his farewell, before vanishing in a plume of darkness. Enough messing around with the small fry, he had more interesting game to catch.

Mordred just stared at the Corridor as it swallowed his would-be assassin. So if it wasn't his call... then it had to have been Master Xehanort's. Mordred wondered what he saw in Marluxia, someone who was a known traitor. If the Master thought he would be useful, Mordred would have to tread lightly for the time being. It was clear that power was all that mattered to them. The Nobody pondered this assessment. They were most likely going to double check Mordred's words. Mordred was sure that it was unnecessary, but it was also possible that he would find himself in the crosshairs once again, this time with more than one assailant. It would be then that he'd prove to have enough power to assert himself. Not that he was worried about Xigbar. Even if he shot, the bullet would merely hit the Kinetic Barrier and be thrown back at him or Marluxia. Mordred wasn't stupid enough to take such a suicidal risk without a plan in motion. However, there was more to this meeting. Now he knew that Master Xehanort had pieces of his Heart planted in various individuals. This was what concerned Mordred the most, to the extent that he ever could be concerned. It was a most unusual plan, but it was clear that it was intended to be a secret. After all, Mordred would have kept this power a secret were he able to use it, at least until it was far too late to do anything about it. The Nobody would have to keep this knowledge under his hood in the meantime. He couldn't let himself be destroyed by knowing such sensitive information. However... it also meant he could plan around it, in case he was next to join this New Organization. As Mordred turned on the spot and walked towards his own Corridor of Darkness, conjured just a few feet away, the gears begin to turn and schemes were falling into place. No matter what, Mordred's plans were of utmost importance. He would be no one's puppet. -- Mordred has left the thread --
