Tournament Reviews This template is to be used for all Tournament reviews. It is the same form that staff uses. Please copy and paste the code from the bottom into the appropriate match review thread that has been created by the staff. Please do not create your own thread. You cannot review a thread that your character participated in. For every knowledgeable and well written review, you will gain 20 munny to the character account you post the review with. You may only post one review per thread. Please be sure that your review is detailed and informed. Site Rules still apply to raid reviews, so be polite and respectful. Everything a member posts is to be read as constructive criticism and is not to be taken as an attack. Any issues should be reported directly to a staff member. Damage Inflicted and Taken: What powers were used and what damage taken should be reviewed here, as well as the effects of any powers used. Basically, which side dealt more and which side took more damage.
Key Points:- Overall damage inflicted
- Strategic use of items
- Overall combative dominance
Questions to Ask Yourself:How much damage would that skill have inflicted on the target? Would a skill be super effective against the character, such as using a potion against someone inflicted with zombie. Who caused the most damage? Which side would have probably won the fight. Skill and Style: This isn't for it being well written, but the creative style and effect of their strategy and if it also had a imaginative visual.
Key Points:- In-Character Combat Style
- Skills used wisely
- Use of weaknesses and strength
Questions to Ask Yourself: Did the member stick to their character's fighting style? Did they set them up in a way that would have been hard to defend against? Did that character use their unique/individual fighting style, or 'X-factor' to their best advantage? Did they use their known written powers in such a way that they normally wouldn't use them? Did someone feel out-of-character? Who controlled the battle? Who was more dominant with how the flow of battle went against the other? Did a character seem to be reacting to attacks more than being the one to inflict them? Did one player keep the other on their toes more than the other? Did one character seemed more defensive, calm and collected than the other? Did one person execute an ingenious strategy to win? Did one character identify the other's weaknesses or use their opponent's strength against them? Did a character start at a loss, only to turn it around and gain the flow and control of the battle in their favor? Did a character seem to just use attacks and throw them at the opponent, or used them in a way that was hard for the opponent to fight/defend/counter against? Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: How well did the member write and describe their actions and surroundings. This also includes if a character did not explain themselves or were not justified in their movements or dodging.
Key Points:- Stayed In-Character
- Easy to Understand
- Overall fairness
Questions to ask yourself: Did they justify certain movements and their character's fight style? Whether their post was short or long, where they able to explain their actions to the reader and get their point across? Did you question any actions or abilities a character did make? How well did you understand their writing? Did they dodge an attack that should have otherwise harmed them? Did they ignore or shrugged off attacks or write that the attacks had no effect on them? Did they seem to know something about their opponent that otherwise their character wouldn't know? Did a character do something you felt was not fair or use a power not listed/misuse a power listed on their application? Who had the best sportsmanship, and was fair to the other team in taking damage? Did someone take a hit that they probably could have dodged? Did a team take hits that they knew they couldn't dodge realistically? Damage Inflicted and Taken: So I will honestly have to say that this section was quite hard to judge because I felt that both parties were very fair with the amount of damage dealt and sustained. However, I will have to say that the ending when it came down to the rap battles that Rojo got majorly burned. So if we factor that in, I'd have to give this one to Gilgamesh. Sorry Rojo, you did amazing and you not only contended with him but also his Summon Enkidu. So I kind of had to judge using your deciding battle of rhymes.
[******Gilgamesh******] Skill and Style: So right off the back, I definitely have to give this one to Rojo . During this fight, Rojo was the underdog of sorts, not to underplay his accomplishments in the game but his spell selection is rather limited verses Gilgamesh’s seemingly endless number of abilities. I will say that Rojo definitely capitalized on his limited number of abilities, chained them and also made stuck with a specific fighting style. That isn’t to say that Gilgamesh didn’t do that same. But I will say that Rojo went again greater odds because not only was he contending with Gilgamesh but even Enkidu made a token guest appearance.
[******Rojo******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: Alright, so for Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship. I can honestly say that this was a very challenging category to grade because both Rojo and Gilgamesh have very diverse character-types, plus both author’s writing-styles are easy to understand and provide countless hours of humor. I will say that Rojo definitely caught a lot of Gilgamesh’s flak and took it stride, not to mention still had some witty banner. However, I will add the Gilgamesh definitely added a comedic flair that made me go dead-pan at work when I was reading it. So, I will have to give this one to Gilgamesh just cause you know, you made me laugh ( that isn’t easy with my sense of humor. .

First of all, apart from any more detail qualitative input, I’d just like to say this was an amazing read. You both cooperated to create something I looked forward to every update for : ) Damage Inflicted and Taken: Truly, the poor citizens of Thebes took more damage then anyone, but anyway…
While both parties kept up the assault and gave as good as they got, Gilgamesh clearly controlled the flow of battle. Rojo dealt more then his fair share of the damage, but there were periods where it was blunted by healing and shielding, and Rojo had to use quite a bit of healing himself. Also, Gilgamesh’s parting stanza was a pretty harsh beatdown. [******Winner Gilgamesh******] Skill and Style: First props to Malach for keeping running in an orderly fashion what is without a doubt, the most complicated the most complicated character on site. It takes skill to keep that ball rolling, let alone strategically select abilities and keep the writing interesting, kudos. However, I’m giving Rojo this one. Rojo was faced a foe with exponentially more combat options and deployed his arsenal in ways that were both strategic and non-conventional. Rojo consistently displayed out of the box thinking, and thus gets my nomination for style and skill.
[******Rojo******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: Both writers did excellently in these categories. It was obvious the cooperation Terra and Malach needed to pull off this gladiator match turned burlesque in a productive (the word of course being used generously XD) fashion. I know that I personally gained lots of new appreciation for two site-characters I really didn’t know much about coming into this. It took perspective and a knack for improve to both laugh at your own characters, and make a long battle still entertaining to read, props to both of you.
I’d also like to give Sportsmanship cred to Rojo for facing a very powerful character with dignity and spunk, and likewise to Terra as an author for sensing when the narrative needed to ‘move along’ and have Rojo nudge things in a forward direction. That kind of metanarrative thinking is essential for threads running smoothly. However my vote for descriptive writing goes to Gilgamesh. Both did excellently, but Gilgamesh brought a lot of panache, and the posts were loud (very very loud) with Gilgamesh’s unique flair. I had to sit down for a while with this review, because this match was so unique and it was narratively a duet between too skilled comedians. But since I have to choose one, it will be Gilgamesh. . Damage Inflicted and Taken: Was this even a physical fight? I've never seen people talk this much in a tournament match.. On the front of damage, both were causing and taking damage.. While the spectators were getting a lot of mental damage I suspect.. If not the fighters too, honestly.. Skipping all the talk, both sides did use their abilities to their fullest while dashing out damage otherwise using any ways to prevent damage. I gave up at the rap battle………. In the front of damage inflicted and taking damage, this would go to Gilgamesh. [******Gilgamesh******] Skill and Style: *stares* IC.. Skills.. Right.. Blablabla.. They both were painfully IC.. they kept true to their characters and used their skills wisely, using their arsenals, I felt both were really doing well, their use of their skills were really put to good use and allowed them to really adjust to the situations. From what I read, I think Rojo was more strategic and unique in his style, so… I don't know… Giving this to Rojo. [******Rojo******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: As said, theyw ere both in-character, they were good to understand what they were doing. Well, I had some slight difficulty in places with just random commentary of chopping.. Too much speech, really. If anything, this was more a battle by talking the other down than truly physical at times. Both were really fair in their use of abilities, but considering the posts, I felt Rojo was better to understand in his writing.. Sorry but giving this to Rojo.. [******Rojo******] Raid Winner: ***** Rojo ****** ... Honestly, can we vote this thread for Thread of the Month? It was a most interesting read, as said, I don't like insane amounts of chatting in tournaments like this, but with the two going against one another and constantly either one-upping or boasting against each other, it made this all the more wanting to see how it continues..
