His eyes opened. The apprentice was laying upon the floor, in the same room he had turned the key upon himself. It seems he was correct, when the Heartless and Nobody are vanquished, the whole returns. Xehanort looked toward the monitor to see that everything seemed to be running normally. It had been awhile, perhaps someone disabled the MCP.
The vessel rose to its feet, examining the room around him. It didn't look as if it had been abandoned these past years, so who had been here? It must be the same person that disabled his faulty program.
What of the rest of the vessels? He wasn't sure if this would work. Yes, it seemed as if he was correct about the whole returning, but how many wholes? Xehanort had a very particular past in which his heart had manifested itself within a number of different vessels. So, would they all return? Or just himself, the one who turned himself into a Heartless?
So many factors of his plan all counted upon there being exactly thirteen vessels. He knew he was one, and his Heartless and Nobody would count as two more. The frail body before him was most certainly one, and Vanitas contained bits of the Master's power. Who else had he counted upon? Braig? Most Likely. Would the boy Ventus play a role? Not within his ranks. He needed to make contact with the other Seekers.
Xehanort approached the terminal in front of him.
>ENTER PASSWORD
Muscle memory took over and his fingers pounded on the keyboard in a familiar pattern.
>AURORA >SNOW WHITE >CINDERELLA >ALICE >JASMINE >BELLE >KAIRI
Immediately, a red light began to flash in the room around him with a message appearing on the screen.
>ERROR! >ENTER PASSWORD
Once again Terra-Xehanort pressed his fingers upon the keyboard. He instantly knew what had happened. Someone had changed the password data he had used to protect his information within. It was certain if someone had disabled the MCP. This time, the lights were accompanied by a siren. Apparently, a safeguard was put into place to alert someone if Xehanort attempted to gain access of the town's database.
>SYSTEM LOCKED
One thing was certain; Xehanort would not be alone in this room for long.

The king was still puzzled on what exactly it was that was calling to him out there in the Keyblade Graveyard. He just had one of those feelings, y’know? One of those ones ya just couldn’t ignore and so he went only to come to absolutely nothing. No conclusion, no raging battle, no hulking beast, no life to save. Just. Nothing. It was so silent there that it was unnerving enough to make the mouse turn tail pretty early on. Once he’d come to that place…that unforgiving maw of the past where he could only watch as his friends Aqua, Ventus, and Terra had their lives torn apart before him. Chilled to his smallish mouse bones, Mickey left, slipping into the dark corridor once he found an applicable place to do so. It certainly wasn’t difficult to find an opening in such a negative place.
Thus the mouse king wandered the dark corridors in search of whatever it was that he was meant to find. His mind strayed as it often did, memories of friends and loved ones filling his mind and his heart with the very light that protected him through his many journey’s in these usually unforgiving corridors. Mickey never really struggled with them. Only once had they come close to claiming him and it was likely due to the fear he felt for Riku. Fear was a complicated emotion. Sometimes it yielded darkness in your heart, but sometimes it yielded light because it presented you with the important opportunity to surpass it. Maybe checking on some friends wasn’t such a bad idea. Mickey was still feeling a little stilted from his visit to the Keyblade Graveyard. He hadn’t seen Leon or Cid in quite a while so he made a few turns until he felt that tug. It was hard to explain traveling through the corridors really. You had to rely on your memory of the place, the feeling that it gave you in your heart. Once you had a solid image of it, it was like a string connecting with your heart. All you had to do was accept its pull.
The mouse was nearly sent hurtling into a wall with the rough push that sent him through the opening in the corridor…only to find himself in another familiar corridor. Ansem’s old study was just down this hall and beyond it the MCP terminal. Strange. Mickey usually started at Merlin’s house. Granted it wasn’t uncommon to find a few of his friends here, he typically had to look around for them first. Regaining his bearings from nearly toppling over, Mickey ran his large gloved hands over his clothing removing the last of the dust from his previous venture and he set off down the hallway toward the old study. Carefully he opened up the door at the height of his tip toes and he poked his nose inside. Nobody in there it seemed. Mickey pushed open the door and wandered in, his eyes running over the tall shelves lined with unorganized tomes. He sighed softly to himself, the memory of all the time he’d spent here with Ansem the Wise flooding his heart. Why was he feeling so somber today?
>ERROR!
Mickey nearly jumped out of his skin when his ears picked up the warning from the MCP down the cornered hall. He peered that way in curiosity.
>ENTER PASSWORD
The command was followed by several clicks and beeps indicating that someone was entering something on the terminal…
>SYSTEM LOCKED
…and they were not privy to what the password was. Who was in that room? Mickey gulped back his nerves and settled into his sense of near perfect balance. It was there when he needed it, and he needed it now. His gloved right hand rose outward at his side and in a flash of light the Star Seeker manifested in his hand as he continued his tip toed trek down the cornered hallway.
>WARNING
The system chanted as a red light began its sequence of brightening and dimming. It was part of the town security system afterall. The terminal had to be up and running regularly. A system lock due to an intruder would simply not do. Mickey was about to round the last corner, peeking his head around to see who was standing there. With the flashing red, all that he could make out was a rigid silhouette. The tall stature, the broad shoulders, the curvature of a muscular back strong enough to wield some of the heaviest weapons with ease. The Hair that stood in spots and fell in clustered spikes. Mickey knew that shadow. He was standing the same exact way the day they’d met. To see him now after all this time. Mickey could hardly believe it.
>WARNING

The flashing red lights and accompanying repeated buzz of the alarm was quite distracting. Xehanort quickly pounded at the keyboard one final time with a futile effort to release the town's defense system, but it wasn't responding at all.
This was most likely the efforts of either: A. Ansem the Wise coming back to take back his castle, or B. The King had come to destroy all he had sought to accomplish. Either way, it was most infuriating. Just as Xehanort lowered his hood and began to turn around, a small voice sounded from the distant entrance to the room. He recognized that squeak, even with the absolute shock to his voice, anywhere.
"This heart has returned to the darkness."
Xehanort locked eyes with the small mouse, and he immediately noticed the King had brandished his small key. He had most likely come to see the source of the alarm, which confirmed his suspicion that Mickey must have reprogrammed the MCP to lock him out of the defense grid.
Off in the distance, the former apprentice heard the familiar sounds of the defense grid activating. Lingering Heartless in the area must have triggered an attack from the forces in that digital world. Xehanort took a step forward as a light lit up beneath his feet and a small pillar formed behind him in an attempt to vanquish the intruder.
"You of all people should know of the events that transpired at the Keyblade Graveyard. Terra no longer controls this vessel, and I have returned as well as the others."
Images flashed through his head of Master Xehanort, Vanitas, the Heartless, the Nobody, Isa, Braig, and the rest of the thirteen vessels. The fateful battle would soon be upon them. In this room were but two of the pieces on the board, as he had understood it. However, he needed only to confirm that his suspicions were correct. Mickey's response would further Xehanort's plans, one way or another.

The figure in the blaring red room turned to face him, and Mickey noted it then. The hair…formally brown was a smoky white, the face so much more angular than before…and the eyes. That was not Terra. He spoke and Mickey froze up. Aqua’s, Ven’s and Mickey’s worse fears about Terra. It happened. It stood right before him as clear as day and as thickly dark as night. ”No…” the king croaked sorrowfully, his feet consciously backpedaling a few steps for a more healthy distance.
The defense grid began its retaliations in distant corridors, Mickey’s ears sensitive to the sounds. Heartless were near. A column of light seemed to aim at what was definitely not Terra from the floor and he easily stepped out of its range. He spoke again, accusing Mickey of knowing for certain. It was true, he’d witnessed the horrible events that transpired then but that certainly did not mean that Mickey would utter his fears and bring those horrors to life.
Fear could not win this. Mickey had lead others that were important to him from the depths of darkness. He could do it again…he had to. He just had to. A step forward and his free hand brought before him. The Kingdom Key manifested shining even in the blaring red. ”I won’ accept that!” the king stated defiantly his chin raised and his brow furrowed. Both keyblades at his side, he braced himself ready for anything.
((ooc: Okay with duking it out a little if you are))

Ten years ago something magnificent happened. The mental fortitude of Master Xehanort joined with the physical prowess of Terra, and Xehanort had found a new vessel to carry out his will to obtain Kingdom Hearts. As he stood upon that cliff in the barren wasteland of the Keyblade Graveyard, Xehanort could feel the darkness tugging at him, as if it were an caged beast waiting to be unleashed. Though, Terra's will remained, and Xehanort's restraint cost him against the Lingering Sentiment.
That was over ten years ago...
Now, he stood once more upon the Realm of Light, and he could once again feel the tide wash over him. Twelve versions of the same being have returned to existence, and Terra-Xehanort was among the few to actually contain the mind of the elder Keyblade Master. Xehanort was always calm and calculated and here he stood with an angry mouse ready to pounce upon him.
He knew well enough that mouse had trained under Yen Sid, so he was no slouch. Yen Sid was the one Eraqus had often looked to for answers, and while Xehanort had not met him personally, he knew of his reputation well enough. King Mickey would obviously be a formidable opponent.
Xehanort brandished that all too familiar key of greys and blacks with the eye on the top of the blade. The "Gazing Eye" of No Name was summoned forth in a familiar cloud of black energy.
"If your aim is to force me out this vessel, it is futile."
Xehanort spread his arms out, stretching them as an aura of darkness poured out from around him. He opened the cage, let the beast within stretch its legs as the tide of darkness washed over him.
"I have grown far too powerful in this vessel."
And Xehanort lowered his arms, caging the beast once more. The visible aura subsided and he lowered his head to stare straight into Mickey's eyes.
"And now is not the time for our fated battle. Gather your lights, and we shall meet again, after we have found our new vessel and the thirteen are completed. The twelve of us, individually, will scour the worlds and become thirteen completed, united. Only then will we accept your challenge. Gather your seven and we will meet. Fail and we know of seven other lights we can use."
With that, Xehanort released his key in another plume of darkness and turned his back to the king. He quietly raised the hood on his cloak and exited the world in the familiar cocoon of darkness.

Mickey’s wide eyes settled on the blade in Terra’s…Xehanort’s hand the moment it was summoned. The air around them seemed to darken, thickening with the maddening abyss. The form that was once Terra stretched outward, his limbs seeming to elongate like creeping tendrils leaving the mouse king to simply stare down the threatening dark. ”That’s enough!” Mickey warned both keyblades raised behind him ready to be swung forward. The entity complained of being too powerful and Mickey’s gaze on him narrowed in anger as the two stared each other down.
Too Mickey’s surprise, Terra dismissed himself. Terra. This was Terra. Mickey refused to believe that this would not be so, even if it wasn’t now. He would not willingly give Xehanort the body of a friend. The being told Mickey to gather his seven and the dark would gather as well for the fated battle. So it was true. Xehanort truly intended to start the next war. ”I’ve heard enough!” Mickey insisted rushing forward toward the already disappearing form.
Before Mickey could close in, Terra was once again gone entirely lost to the dark corridors. Mickey in frustration skidded to a halt and let his keyblades disappear, his attention turning to the MCP. He quickly hopped up to the terminal and overrode it with the correct passwords deploying the needed and wanted security systems. He was silent for a moment simply staring at the screen. There was so much to worry about. He needed to get moving. The mouse king hopped down and plummeted himself into the corridors of darkness without hesitation.
