Yes! One of the Gigantoads was defeated now! The other two were predictably back on their feet and moving now. Although for Vaneera, the one targeting her was actually up in the air, and coming crashing down towards her! One would have expected the Keyblade Wielder to move, but instead she waited for it's approach, concentrating her magical energy once more. Just before impact, a barrier would form around the red-haired girl, signaling the use of Reflect! This would likely result in the Gigantoad rolling harmlessly off of her barrier, though even if it didn't... That might prove worse for the creature.
For once the barrier falls, the Keyblade Wielder flies into a flurry of blows, striking it twice, and intending to knock it away from herself if it was still going to land on her. Though even if not, she could earn some distance between herself and the enemy, and that would allow for a few tactical options as a result. She could only hope that Roxas had things under control on his end, because she needed to focus on the enemy in front of her right now!
"Persistent, aren't you?", she'd mutter to the Gigantoad.

Roxas pivoted to face the enormous beast crashing towards him head on. He could feel the damp ground shake beneath him with each of its pounding footfalls. As the gigantoad approached he widened his stance, and just as it seemed it would be upon him in seconds as it started opening its huge jaws, the keyblade wielder leapt into the air in a blink where he hovered just above the monster's reach using Glide. It continued to careen forward, having gathered too much momentum to alter its path quickly enough to react. With precise timing Roxas darted straight down, his keyblades in a V shape, and pierced the toad over where its neck would be. He descended quickly but easily back to the earth with Glide. Would that be enough? A quick glance to his right saw Vaneera battling a gigantoad of her own, and he was anxious to help, but only after he'd first taken care of this one.

| ❝ The first Gigantoad took a beating and toppled to the floor. As for the second after Roxas it too would soon find its maker! With the toads defeated the pair would like find one rolling down the hill and into the river leaving them a safe pass for the the team of rescuers to head along without worry of being washed way, but they would have to worry about that sticky skin, but at least it was better than becoming one with the ocean.
They would be able to see the path that led toward the ruins which once housed the Behemoth, a den of immeasurable danger and proportions fit for a king. Muddied footprints along the riverbank would provide a clue of the perpetrator's path proper to their poignant preparations.

Fortunately, the Gigantoads were a lot more frightening in appearance than in terms of actual strength. Vaneera couldn't complain though, an easy fight was vastly preferable to one that was far more difficult and dangerous. Especially when they were still so early in their journey. The ending of the fight also saw one of the beasts rolling downhill to then land rather perfectly in the river in such a way that they could now cross using the body. A rather grim thought, that. But at least they wouldn't have to try and set up some kind of makeshift bridge now, and most animals had the sense to avoid dead bodies, so... This was a secure path, at least for a little while.
"Well, I guess we make the best of it.", the red-haired girl remarks, and begins to cross. She would wait for Roxas to do the same, and note several telltale signs of... A few different things, mainly. First, the path leading to that Behemoth's den that she would REALLY like to avoid if at all possible. So to that end she would begin investigating the footprints that were left in the area by the thief. It looks like they'd be able to follow them for awhile, so long as they paid attention.
"That's a lucky break. The tracks are still fresh and nothing has covered them up. We might be hot on their trail now. Let's keep at it!", Vaneera then comments, and once Roxas is ready she would begin trailing the footprints. Being careful about her own steps so as to not tamper with their target's. Now she just had to hope that this wasn't leading them towards that den... It was supposedly abandoned long ago. But Vaneera didn't want to test how truthful that was, or what might bring such a beast back. A nice big egg might attract it after all...
The Keyblade Wielder tries to shake that thought off and keep her focus. No sense worrying about that right now...------ Roxas Gyun Cooldowns: Strike Blitz (3/3) Reflect (1/2)

"Nice work!" Roxas declared as the toad's body crashed into the water. His keyblades disappeared in a burst of light and leapt onto its hide with magical ease, following behind Vaneera. It might be tricky trying to keep balance while carrying an egg, but they could worry about that after they'd tracked it down. The young keyblade wielder actually wasn't particularly worried about any behemoths that may or may not still be around. True he'd never seen one before, but it couldn't be any bigger or more dangerous than a darkside, could it? He was sure they could handle it. He landed lightly on the muddy ground, leaving footprints of his own. "We're making good time," he nodded with a smile. Energized by their exciting battle, he started along the path much more quickly than before. Decrepit ruins loomed in the distance, which were a sure sign that they were on the right track. Then he seemed to remember something. "Are you alright? You didn't get hurt or anything?" he asked without slowing his pace; Vaneera was clearly a skilled combatant and she seemed just fine, but it never hurt to make sure.

Someone is terribly, remarkably, uncharacteristically late to this affair. A certain someone with fiery red hair. No, not that one. No not the one who's already here either. This one is much shorter, and fuzzier... A moomba charges down the path, having stopped by the ranch and managed to frantically pantomime his way to delivery and assistance. It's easy for him to track the other two even without a map, he's a mighty hunter after all. Well, okay, maybe not much of a hunter, but he DOES have a significant amount of para-military training, the amount approaching a value infinitely greater than that held by the average moomba, which is none.
It is an odd experience to say the least, when a persistent thumping grows from behind, and a sunset colored toothsome, clawful beast comes at you on all fours, in a dead sprint, moving much faster than most people could ever hope to run, while looking immensely focused.... only to dart right past you and briefly look back as if you're somehow slow while calling "C'mon!" Gyun has no intention of slowing down for the moment. The trail is highly visible and even when it becomes less so he'll have no trouble following it unless it's been purposefully obscured. He would admit to being trepidatious at the idea of a Behemoth's lair, if he were well spoken enough to have gotten that far in a conversation (he usually isn't), but he's been in far more frightening places by now. We're... pretty sure, anyway.

| ❝ It was both a great and wide open space, but claustrophobic inducing. The walls of junk had come by due to the building's age. Fallen and consumed by the surrounding woods the Behemoth had made nest by dragging prey about, knocking over the aged epithets that once belonged to a stronghold of an empire. Great walls of steel were cut off by twisted paths of metal riddled with gnarled roots and collapsed logs. It was a deep and twisting maze of man and nature: fighting for dominance.
A thick fog would settle in as a clearing would soon become visible. Abandoned barrels of oil, machinery long forgotten. It seemed a tower had been shoddily constructed for the sake of finding shelter amongst the roving beasts that scavenged off birds nests and the nocturnal who sought to rest until the darkness swallowed all. Here they would like be able to hear the rattle and craggle of shuffling somewhere amongst the debris. Was it the thief?!
With a pop a number of brightly colored eggs rolled out into the clearing. But these were no ordinary eggs! With a crack they popped and began to run around. What was this?1! Heartless Eggs?!

Vaneera smiled at Roxas's concern. "Don't worry, I'm fine. How about you?", she'd ask, a little curious on how things were going on his end. It didn't look like he took a beating at all back there, so it was relieving to know she had someone strong and skilled backing her up... Even if she was a bit jealous about the whole 'two Keyblades' thing.
Well, this place certainly wasn't ominous at all. There totally wasn't going to be a giant beast that would be roused from all the noise, terribly angry at the intruders. Namely the... Three of them? Yes, it looked like the animal companion had caught up now. Although to Vaneera's confusion, it talked. "Did uh... Did that... Lion...? Dog...? Uh, whatever it is, just talk?"
She wasn't even sure what it was, to start with. But at least it didn't seem to be hostile to either of them, and it seemed to be searching for the thief as well, expecting them to keep up. The Keyblade Wielder sighs a little, and decides to pick up the pace. Maybe he was a decent tracker, and that would make things a bit easier than before. But right as she thought that, she'd hear a strange popping sound. "Hold on!"
She warned, and slows down, summoning her Keyblade and looking around. It doesn't take her long to spot the strangely colored eggs that rolled out into the open for no explicable reason. Just as she raises an eyebrow over that strange detail, they suddenly crack open, revealing Heartless! Yeah, that was definitely what they had to be! She hadn't seen this species before, but the characteristics were unmistakable!
Well, even if she was wrong about them being Heartless, there was no question that they weren't here to be friends. A little confused that they hadn't started attacking yet, she decided to seize the opportunity and attack first! Vaneera springs into action, aiming a Fire spell at one of the Rogue Eggs, then she follows up by striking at another two with her Keyblade!
For now, she was keeping most of her stronger attacks in reserve, just in case she needed them. But with some suitable backup here, she might not need to worry too much... Maybe?------- Gyun Roxas Actions: Fire @ Rogue Egg A Basic Attack @ Rogue Egg B Basic Attack @ Rogue Egg C Cooldowns: Fire (0/1) Reflect (2/2)

"Those gigantoads were a breeze!" he grinned in reply to her first question. "You're pretty good with your keyblade, too. Even if we do run into a behemoth, I don't think we'll have much trouble as a team." They were both so quick on their feet, the large, lumbering monsters were no match, as intimidating as they may appear. It didn't occur to him that it was probably too soon to let his guard down just yet.
Roxas didn't seem particularly surprised as Gyun caught up with them, merely giving him a nod of acknowledgement. He recognized him from back at Wiz's post, and anyway, by now he was quite used to anthropomorphic animals showing up with little context. "You've never met a talking dog before?" he began to ask Vaneera, but before she could reply they were interrupted by the sound of twigs snapping as something—many somethings—barreled towards them through the undergrowth. Though they seemed oddly colorful, Roxas could recognize those shadowy forms and bulbous yellow eyes anywhere, and his keyblades were readied in an instant. "Heartless! We must be on the right track!"
Without further hesitation he dashed forward, using Oblivion to slash through the heartless furthest from Vaneera as he passed it, and then leaping onto the next one to his left. He brought down Oathkeeper as if he were swinging a mallet, hoping to see its shell shatter into a dozen pieces, because who doesn't have a little fun getting to crack eggs? Though with these heartless it probably wouldn't be quite so easy as he hoped.

Gyun is honestly a little bit taken aback by the appearance of the strange new heartless. He's never seen them before and he immediately does a 180, scrabbling around and back several feet before spinning back to face them and pulling to a halt. These creatures always make him wary. He'll never forget being overrun by them and every time he sees something new he instinctively pulls back to to examine them. They look even less intimidating than shadows, but he suspects that is not the case, so after weighing his options and watching the others confront the enemy he decides on a course of action.
The moomba hefts his paws, tail bolting straight out. A cloud of mist condenses in the air solidifies into a sizable chunk of ice which with a swing of his paws he smashes down into Vaneera's first target for a hefty blizzard blow. Immediately afterward he sweeps one of his paws out toward her and focuses deeply, he knows what he's looking for so it's not too hard. There's a bit of an odd feeling as he pilfers through her essence and draws out a mote of light, which pops the minute it reaches his form, and a fireball, her fire, streaks toward the Moomba's primary target.
That done, Gyun retreats to the rear in preparation for use of a more taxing ability, he can't afford to be interrupted during it, and waves the two on. They can do it! at least until he manages to pull himself together and get what he's after. He's not sure what these creatures have, if anything, but he's getting ready to find out. He targets the furthest egg and commences Draw. G38RCvPk1-10

| ❝ The group did fantastic taking out the enemy eggs and even Gyun would manage to gain the Bomb Toss ability. The Egg Heartless were known to self destruct when they felt their wicks lit by one too many hits to the head! Rolling their sealed bodies into enemies! Once taken out silence one again overcame the ruins. As the fog of war cleared from the smoky battlefield a basket of Chocobo eggs could be seen hanging from a post. Stepping into view was a Heartless about the height of Roxas with a sack of ticking eggs in his knapsack. IN hand the Emblem Heartless would hold out one of the eggs. Reaching its hands around it to smack it closed it would start to tick down. Cackling the Egg was tossed into the group!
It seemed they had found the Egg Thief! This Heartless went around collecting eggs from roots which have been given tender love and care, looking to replace in itself what it had long since lost. It was a quick opponent with a bag of bombs. If they group was not careful the eggs could be harmed as the explosion of the tossed Heartless Egg rattled the ruin's grounds.

Well, it didn't take too long for the thief to show themselves. They really were staying in such a dangerous area! ... But looking at them, she could tell why too. Heartless didn't fear much of anything. So even the prospect of a Behemoth wouldn't scare it off. Most notably however they had also tracked down the Chocobo Eggs! And that led to the very concerning nature of their battle. That Heartless was using these egg-shaped 'buddies' as grenades!
"Crap! I'll try to soften it up, and then go for the eggs to cover them! I can prevent one solid explosion from damaging them, so work fast!", Vaneera spoke as quickly and clearly as she could to Roxas and Gyun, and with that she would vanish from the spot, striking the Egg Thief! This time she focused all of her attacks on this single target as she continued to teleport around it, harassing it from every angle with attacks to keep it from throwing anymore eggs. This was of course her signature technique; Strike Blitz
Of course, she was also trying to strike it down... But suddenly, she stops her offensive, and turns her focus to the basket of Chocobo Eggs, running over to them! If she was unimpeded in her efforts, she'd also attempt to retrieve the basket carefully. Though even if she couldn't pick them up just yet, she could still use this position to prevent major damage from coming to them... But if she could get them free, that would be even better. She could move them to a safer spot until the battle was done!_______ Actions: 1 - Strike Blitz @ Egg Thief (entire attack) 2 - Runs for the Basket of Chocobo Eggs 3 - Attempts to retrieve them without damaging them Cooldowns: Strike Blitz (0/3) Fire (1/1) Gyun Roxas

So the thief was a heartless! It figured that the heartless' own instincts to seek out beating hearts would be its downfall. Now it didn't stand a chance! But those bombs were very concerning. He was sure that chocobo eggs were a little tougher than the eggs Sora tried to cook with, but surely not tough enough to withstand any combat damage.
"Got it!" Roxas affirmed. "We've got your back!" But at that moment the immediate issue was the ticking and twitching Egg the thief had thrown into their midst. It seemed like it could explode at any second! He took a quick step forward, beginning to raise his keyblades, but then stumbled as he stopped himself in his tracks. If he broke the thing open now, it might explode from the impact either way. Instead he let his weapons fall—they dissipated into pure light before they could hit the ground—and cast Blizzara with both hands, hoping to freeze it in place. If he did enough damage to cause it to dissipate, that would be a bonus. Turning his attention now to their main target, the ruins were illuminated with a brightness like lightning as he hit the thief with a Flashbang in an attempt to stun and prevent it from activating more bombs.

Gyun absorbs the energy and then perks as gears turn in his head, watches the two go at it and fight their opponent. He looks a little bit confused at the way they're going about it, because it runs completely contrary to what he would do. He tilts his head from one side to the other, then back again, before resting his chin in his left paw and mulling over a course of action. As he thinks about what he learns, a devilish grin appears on his feline face. That would be fun. He chooses what he feels is most obvious course of action, and hefts a paw. A swirling orb appears supported in his grasp, and with a wind up and swing, he proceeds to Bomb Toss a... highly explosive impact bomb... directly into the sack of egg bombs. Good thing he's all the way back here. "Firin' hole!" he calls out gleefully as it leaves his grasp.
Gyun throws a primed explosive that goes off on impact into the open bag of explosives. Much boom.

| ❝ The Heartless Eggs were a shifty target as they were prone to light up with any amount of friction to their heads or a good blast of fire to their wicks. But this wasn't at all what the company of heroes had to concern themselves with as they were quick to handle them. The basket of eggs seemed safe and healthy, but they felt to be getting a bit cold! With the sun nearing the horizon it was imperative they return them to the Ranch soon!
The Egg Thief was getting pummeled, and the one heartily dancing egg was frozen stick still so it prevented it from erupting and would tumble over with a clattering click! Stunned back by Roxas and Vaneera's assaults it would fall on its bottom, stunned, the sack of explosive eggs bouncing in he sack around his neck and squealing! Blinking their yellow eyes the Thief looked up at the whirring sound of a familiar tactic.
Blinking audibly the Heartless craned its neck to look at the sack as the bomb made contact. The feelers atop its head wilted as the bright explosion would envelope it before sending the Heartless and all his bomber buddies blasting off again!
t i n g
Well.
But it seemed toe fight was over as the eggs were now free to escape with the party back toward the ranch, but they had a long way to go. Getting out of the ruins was their first task! The eggs needed to get back to their nests soon! They would be able to make it to at least the river, but they would need to take care!
