KH3 SPOILER THREAD
The skies were coated with the warm and soft twilight orange that the world was truly known for. It was a sky that was almost never changing, a sky that was painted with a color for the time where day was to end, yet night had just not reached just yet. It was a fitting for a world that was in between light and darkness, a world that was of twilight. Just looking up at the sky made Riku smile a bit as in the end nothing really did change. Riku had no idea where he should start or where he should go, but a twilight world like this was perhaps the best place to start if he wished to find the friend he had lost.
The battle was over and everything that they had lost was regained, but they payed a heavy price for it. Riku could still remember Kairi’s face upon losing Sora. Those two just couldn’t stay together and Riku made it practically his job to make sure the two love birds could actually stay in on place together for once. In a way it was irritating, but he couldn’t blame anybody for this as Sora followed his heart. It was something he knew the risk of and still did regardless.
With hands in his pockets he causally began walking on pondering on his next step, but his steps came to a halt as he noticed he was in a rather open space. There were people walking about, but he realized where he was and as he glanced over he noticed the large clock tower that towered over the station plaza he stood in. His eyes couldn’t help but stare upwards at the top, thinking about those that would usually be sitting up above there glancing out at the scenery. This world didn’t hold the best of memories for him as he had done things he really wasn’t proud about. His mind could only think back to those two who had returned back during the last battle. Everybody had gone through such a difficult time, but in the end things turned out all right. It was just thinking about this that made Riku feel more motivated to find his lost friend. He wouldn’t lose anybody else and he wasn’t going to forget anybody ever again.

| Think back;
Can you hear the past, whispering?
--♦♦♦-- Xion sighed contentedly, feeling the warm breeze as she walked through the sunset-lit streets of her sanctuary. It had felt like forever since she had been here, but in truth it had maybe been three days. She had hoped to see her friends, but it seemed they had other things that had kept them from joining her at their usual spot. She paused to buy an ice-cream from a vendor, thanking her and handing over the munny. Despite the fact that Xion carried a WINNER stick from a previous frozen treat, Xion was collecting them. She hoped to get three, or at least two,so that when Roxas and Ax....Lea (she really needed to get his somebody name memorized) did join her, she could treat them each to a free ice-cream as a celebration of being together again. She wondered if they all might go to the beach for a whole day, or even longer. The Organization was no longer looking over them, so they were free to do whatever they wanted.
Xion wouldn't eat her frozen treat, not yet. Instead, she would follow the familiar route that led her through the sleepy town and up the higher streets toward the Station Plaza, above which the trio's treasured meeting place towered. You could see to the horizon from up there, the heights of the Clock Tower, and almost imagine that you could see just beyond. But it was the shared company she missed most; perhaps today she might find a familiar face, and welcome company.
Entering the plaza, Xion would look to the left, attention drawn by the glow of the forever-setting sun. This was the main feature of the peaceful World; she liked the idea of continuous, uninterrupted light. However, something was different about the plaza today; someone else was here. She tilted her head slightly as she caught sight of the other person in the plaza, also looking towards the sun from the plaza's stunning view above the lower levels of the town.
A very familiar person; her breath catches and she feels like her stomach (or heart) does a flip. She isn't sure why, and she feels slightly unsettled by this feeling.
"R-Riku..?"

With eyes still glancing upwards at the high top of the clock tower, Riku would eventually close his eyes as he let out a sigh upon realizing that the usual group that resided up there were elsewhere. In a way a soft smile had formed upon his face as he continued thinking about the trio that usually resided there. For them they were finally reunited once more, a conclusion for them that worked out for the best. Even then Riku could recall the grief that they had to of gone through to reach this point.
Nobodies did not have emotions. It was most believed at the time and something Ansem the wise would constantly remind him at those times. Even before Xemnas revealed the falsity of those words, Riku knew deep down that they bore emotions and held a heart. For Sora’s sake he made Xion and Roxas go through one of the toughest decisions a person could ever make. Ever since their return Riku didn’t have the chance to speak with them properly, to apologize for what had happened. It was a conflicting feeling where he desired to apologize, but at the same time held a feeling of hesitation inside him.
Riku was lost in his thoughts, but a feminine voice spoke out his name, a familiar voice that he had forgotten for so long. It was startling to hear that voice after so long, to be able to remember it so vividly after he had struggled for so long to recall it. His eyes widened upon hearing his name from her and he glanced over his shoulder to confirm it was her. “Xion...” Riku said, saying a name he hadn’t for a long time.
Riku’s calm blue eyes glanced over at the black haired girl. Though it was true that they had met during the reunion at Destiny Islands, this was going to be the first time they would speak ever since that moment. She lacked the robe of the Organization and wore a more casual attire, a sign of her freedom from that group that had caused so much woe.
Riku’s eye could only close with a sigh before they reopened as he turned to face her. “Long time no see...Xion” Riku said calmly as a small yet soft smile formed upon his face.

Can you hear the past, whispering?
--♦♦♦-- She didn't know why she was surprised to see him here; after all, when they had traveled during her time of indecision about the Organization and the problem her existence had posed, they had come here a couple of times, though she had avoided the places where she knew Roxas and Axel would have been. She hadn't wanted them to see her in the state she had been in, despite the fact that she knew they had seen her in worse condition. She also hadn't wanted to face them.just yet, afraid that they might not understand. In the end, she had been somewhat right, but after finally reuniting with them in the most recent past, she knew that if she had problems she could talk with them, too. She didn't have to keep feelings or thoughts secret; they weren't under anyone's control or watch anymore, at least not that they knew of. She was very attached to her friends, as well as the others.
But there were differences in the bonds she felt with people, she was beginning to realize, though she didn't quite understand why they felt different. With Even and Ienzo, she guessed that it was more like family; Roxas and Axel, she supposed were best friends but more than, deeper than just the title of friends. Kairi, Sora, and Naminé were in their own categories, too. And then there was Riku.. when he could have just eliminated her and moved on, he hadn't. He had taken the time to warn her, explain things to her, let her figure things out and make her own decisions, walking beside her as she struggled with the internal debate, and even watched over her when she fell unconscious and had a terrible set of dreams. They shared moments that nobody else knew about, she was pretty sure. She hadn't told anyone, at least. So maybe that was why she felt so different around Riku. It was all still somewhat confusing and bewildering.
She smiled back at him, the warm breeze ruffling her hair. She wondered if he might like an ice-cream, too?
"Hello, Riku! How are you? Yeah, it has been a while, hasn't it? It's good to see you again, after everything.. Would you like an ice-cream? My treat, if you do."

It was different seeing Xion as she was now. She was still the same Xion he knew before, the very same Xion that he had travelled along with for that rather short time. Even if it was a short time, Riku knew how valuable that time was for Xion. That time was a time the girl was lost and confused, and even though Riku had his duty to Sora, he still stuck beside her. It was a time where the girl needed to find out what she truly wished to do, and in the end it brought forth sadness. Riku could still recall the struggle of trying to recall her name and the sadness of Roxas as he tried so desperately to recall her and get her back.
Riku did his best to help her, to guide her to follow her heart, though Riku didn’t know if he truly succeeded or not at the time. Xion was gone, but even with her disappearance, Riku and Lea could still deep down recall her existence. It was never gone from them and in the end Xion returned to all of them. The Xion before him seemed more content, she wasn’t tied down to being merely the container that trapped Sora’s memories, but instead her own person. She could live her life as she chose, to laugh and have fun with her friends and no longer be bound to the organization.
Riku was happy for her and all their friends that were able to reclaim what they desired. Had it not been for the sacrifice that Sora had made then things truly would have been fully resolved. He did not wish to lose a friend again and even if he was fated to, he would never wish to forget them. Their bonds remained in their hearts no matter what would come their way.
“I’ve always seen everybody eating those but I’ve never really had one myself…” Riku said Taking a step forward as he began to walk forward towards Xion, closing the gap between them until he was closer to the shorter girl “Guess now would be a good time to try” Riku said with a smile as he placed a hand upon his hip. “Though you don’t have to treat me, I can get one myself” RIku said. He always was a rather stubborn one and preferred that other not worry over him.
