Welcome to the First Annual Chocobo Cup where racers and chocobos from across the worlds will join to compete for the grand price of 1000 munny! As well as a chance to race against the grand champion of Gold Saucer himself; A dazzling white chocobo belonging to Rufus Shinra. Our wonderful benefactor who is graciously sponsoring this race and providing the generous prize![break][break]
The race will be starting on April 15th! So, all you lovely people get ready! Racers will be announced and lent their choice of chocobo for the race. They will competing against the magnificent white bird.[break][break]

The concept is pretty simple. All chocobos will have the same stats as they're all pretty new to racing as well. It is up to you to tell the chocobo what to do and how fast they should be going. You'll be able to control the speed, direction, and jumping. All your decisions will affect your chocobo's overall stamina. So, if you start off too strong and fast, you may wear your poor chocobo out before you get to the finish line. The name of the game is managing stamina consumption while keeping the lead.[break][break]
As your chocobo runs, the full course will be revealed to you such as hazards, items, and speed boosts. You will be given a basic overview of the map to know when you need to turn and length of the course. Each race will be one lap around the course.[break][break]
Similar to the Mirage Arena and Site Events, you will have three actions per post. So, you'll have to decide which action is more important and make those quick decisions. So, is it more important to speed up your chocobo to top speed and stay in your lane or cut over to the right two times to hit that acceleration tile.[break][break]

Rules
[break]- All members must sign up to participate in the event.[break][break]
- All Weapons and Abilities are banned from use during this event![break][break]
- OOC Notes will need to be included to state your actions.[break][break]
- Every turn, players have two days to post. If not, the NPC will act and all actions used on the player will have been successful.[break][break]
- The event activities will take place from April 15th to May 31st.
Actions
[break]ACTIONS[break]
You can have up to three actions per post. Each action listed below counts as an action. Each level of speed you increase or decrease counts as an action. Each block to the left or right your chocobo moves also counts as one action. You cannot accelerate and decelerate in the same post.
Acceleration - Signal your chocobo to move at a higher speed. The speeds are 2 blocks per post, 3 blocks per post, and max speed of 4 blocks per post. Each speed consumes stamina. The higher the speed, the more stamina it consumes. When staying in an accelerated state for long periods without slowing, be sure to see the section on Lathered Status.[break][break][break][break]
Deceleration - Alerts your chocobo to slow down at the same increments as acceleration. This decreases stamina consumption. The lower the speed, the less stamina it consumes.[break][break]
Steering - You direct your chocobo to shift in the appropriate direction. You can move one block to the left or right. When running, there is a delay. So, as you shift blocks, the movement will be diagnol similar to driving a car. You don't simply jump to the right lane. You slowly merge into that lane. This all depends on the speed of your chocobo. So, you may need to slow down to be able to shift a lane in time.[break][break]
Jumping - This will signify to your chocobo that you want to jump over any hazards in the road or to collect any floating items. This will not consume Stamina but is only able to be used once every other post. [Cooldown: 1 post]
IMPORTANT - Make sure you manage your Stamina. If you run out, you will walk a half a block per post.

All chocobos will start out with 200 stamina. Acceleration and item effects will affect how quickly this will decrease.[break][break]
STAMINA CONSUMPTION
Max Speed[break][break]- a speed of 4 blocks per post consumes 4 stamina/post.[break][break]
Acceleration/Deceleration- a speed of 3 blocks per post consumes 3 stamina/post[break][break]
- a speed of 2 blocks per post consumes 2 stamina per post
Walking-a speed of 1 block per post consumes 1 stamina[break][break]
Steering- Steering your chocobo to the left and right consume no stamina
LATHERED AFFECT
Lathered - This is a negative status effect the occurs after staying in an accelerated rate for too long. This status has your chocobo consuming stamina at an even faster if you are afflicted with it. You will lose 2 additional stamina every post you are affected. To cancel out this status, you will need to decelerate. After being in an accelerated state without decelerating for one post, you must roll to see if you are affected.[break][break]Running at 4 Blocks/Post - Roll a 10 sided dice, you are affected with the status unless you roll a 2 or 7. [80% Chance][break][break]
Running at 3 Blocks/Post - Roll a 10 sided dice, you are affected with the status unless you roll a 2 , 5, 7, or 9. [60% Chance][break][break]
Running at 2 Blocks/Post - Roll a 10 sided dice, you are affected if you roll a 1, 4, or 9. [30% Chance][break][break]
Deceleration - Roll a 10 sided dice for every step you have decelerated down. You have a 50% chance of getting out of that status each time you decelerate. An even number will free you from the status effect. So, you if decelerate once after being lathered and fail, the next post you could roll again, even when staying at that same speed. However, if you decelerate another step, you can roll two dice to try and break the affect. You cannot decelerate more than walking speed.

[break]RANDOM FIELD ITEMS[break]
When you successfully collect an item on the field by maneuvering your chocobo, you will roll an 8 sided dice.
1 - Choco Potion - Instantly restores stamina by 10.[break][break]
2 - Stamina Tablet - Prevents stamina reduction for 1 post. If stamina is at zero, restores 10 stamina.[break][break]
3 - Sprint Shoes - Summons a quick burst of speed for 1 post w/ no stamina reduction. This will move your chocobo two additional blocks forward.[break][break]
4 - Bacchus's Water - Sends the first place chocobo into a Frenzied state for 2 posts and increases its stamina loss by 2.Frenzied State - Roll a 10 sided dice for every action attempted to see if the chocobo obeys the movement, odd it does not obey.[break][break]
5 - Graviball - Inflicts the first place chocobo with Heavy for 2 posts.Heavy - cause the chocobo to run one square per post slower with the same stamina consumption as the current acceleration step it is on. If the chocobo is walking, it doesn't slow anymore. Normal stamina reduction is not affected.[break][break]
6 - Briar Caltrop - Surrounds your chocobo with a ring of thorns for 2 posts that will sap the stamina of any chocobos that enter an area around you at a rate of 5 per post while within range. This affects any chocobo within one block of you. This includes diagnolly.[break][break]
7 - Spiderweb - Renders the chocobo running in the place behind you unable to use items for 2 posts. If you are in last place, this has no affect.[break][break]
8 - RARE (If you get this, a Staff Member Will Roll And Assign You A Rare Item)[break][break]
Hero Tonic [Rare] - Invigorates your chocobo for 2 posts, increasing its overall performance while preventing and nullifying any status effects, including lathered. Stamina Consumption is not effected.[break][break]
Choco Meteor [Rare] - Summons a meteor from the heavens to wreak havoc on all fore-running chocobos. Inflicts 20 stamina damage to all chocobos in front of you and causes "Lamed".Lamed - for 1 post you chocobo is prevented from any type of acceleration from both items and actions.[break][break]
Stamina Swapper[Rare] - Interchanges your chocobo's stamina with that of a random chocobo ahead of you. Swap is made only if the fore-running chocobo has more stamina than yours.Roll a dice of the number of chocobos ahead of you. So, if there are 3 racers ahead of you, you roll a 3 sided dice.
