Keyblade Wielder/Black Mage
The only thing Inigo takes seriously in life is magic. He's a very carefree, loose cannon whose driving force is a strong sense of justice and the rush of combat. Inigo could easily be described as lazy, spending more time finding ways to avoid work and clowning around than contributing in a meaningful way. He's fun to be around, but doesn't always carry his share. He is extremely talented with various types of magic, and combat seems to be the only thing he will take seriously.
Inigo doesn't remember anything from his life before slavery. He was to young when his small village was taken. Aegyl were always prized slaves in Ivalice, and anytime a hidden village was discovered it wasn't long before raiding parties began showing up. He never learned where he came from, or who he was as he was sold away from his birth parents early on. He grew up as a glorified servant to a rich sky pirate who called himself Rhaad.
Inigo learned magic from watching Rhaad and practicing in secret. Rhaad was a fan of Fire magic, more intimidating he used to say. He would practice in the dead of night while Rhaad slept and the guards slacked off. One night, the fire got away from him and set a large part of the slave quarters ablaze. It wasn't long until it was Inigo was pinned as the culprit, and his punish was swift. Rhaad took Inigo's right wing, raising the wing high as a warning to any other slaves who would defy him. Inigo lost conciousness during this time, only awaweking several days later after his Dive to The Heart.
When he awoke in the slaver camp, he was chained to a wall in a dilapidated house. He could here the bustle of the camp, but they seemed to have left him alone after they chained him. The pain for his missing wing caused an anger to rise up in Inigo's heart, causing the Dark Flames to manifest. The chains around his wrists were melted away, and Inigo was able to slip away in the night.
He spent several years living in the Lower City of Rabanastre, taking whatever work he could find at night and hiding out during the day. Even a one winged Aegyl was still a prize to hungry slavers, and Rhaad was most vertainly looking for him. He made most of his money as a two-bit treasure hunter and monster slayer, but a life in hiding is a difficult one to manage. Searching for any way out, Inigo became more and more reckless in his hunting, searching for that one rare artifacy that would be his ticket out of the Lower City.

"No one is free until we all are."
"Can we stop for lunch? I'm getting tired."
"I uhh.. Didn't do it. I don't even like fire."
Inigo's eyes opened slowing, a wave a panic rushing down his spine as he awakened to pure darkness. An eerie hymn seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere, rising in loudness as he drifted slowly deeper into the darkness.
He could see nothing, but he felt his foot tap against a surface. With a blinding flash of light, a stained glass platform seemed to grow out of the darkness and cast it away with it's own light. His feet came to rest on the Station, and he gazed around to see that it was empty. Three small lights swirled from overhead, splitting away from each other and striking the platform. With a small sparkle, the lights reshaped themselves into three statues; a bird, a hut, and a flame.
'Freedom, stability power. Keep one close to heart, and cast another away. Your destiny begins here.'
Freedom was an easy choice, made with no hesitation. He placed a hand on the statue, and it shattered into light once again.
'Freedom is an easy choice for most, but what will you give up in exchange?
Now Inigo hesitated. He passed a hand over each statue, turning the choice over in his head. He slowly rested his hand on the hut statue, letting out a nervous sigh. The statue shuddered and shattered into blackness, shadows coalescing into a pool where the statue once stood. A massive black hand rose from the pool, shaking the platform as it slammed into the surface and began to hoist the rest of itself from the pool.
It was Rhaad.
The hulking Shadow gave a roar, smashing the flame statue with it's huge foot. A purple flame rose from the shattered stone, and flowed across the platfrom into Inigo's hand. A sword shaped like a key?
Inigo looked down at the strange weapon in his head. Was this a dream? What was going on?
He was broken from his thoughts by a volley of dark energy crashing into the platform around him. Inigo twisted his body, diving and rolling to avoid being struck by the black meteors. He panicked for moment. He didn't know how to fight. He had never held any kind of weapon in his life. Then Inigo heard a whisper, 'Darkfire.'
Fire? Inigo could do fire.
He raised the black weapon, an odd keyshape, and chanted a quick incantation. Inigo could feel the mana flow from his body and through the keyblade, which swirled with a purple aura and spat out a fat ball of flames of the same color. It tore through the air silently, only making a sound when it impacted the body of the Shadow. The Shadow roared, and swiped a giant hand at Inigo, but this new weapon seemed to give him a newfound power and he easily leapt high above the hand.
This had to be a dream.
A second volley of dark energy spay forth from the Shadow. Inigo twisted his boddy in mid-air, desperately avoiding the dark orbs that sought to snuff out his light. He swung the keyblade around, deflecting an orb away, then landed firmly on his feet. He had never done anything like that before. Was it this new weapon, giving him some strange power?
'Through Darkfire, your light burns ever brighter.'
With that, the entire area feel silent. The eerie hymn stopped and the roars of the Shadow were mute. The keyblade lifted itself in his hand, a purple flame forming a magic circle around the hilt. Inigo let the keyblade go in shock, but it stayed floating. "Light burns ever brighter..? Burns..?" Inigo's words were the only sound that broke the silence. Of course. Burns.
The Keyblade took all the mana that Inigo was able to send into it, pulsing with power. Purple flames danced across the black key, growing in brightness and intesity with each pulse. The silence was broken and all sound returned to the platform as a massive purple flame formed at the tip of the keyblade.
The flame erupted from the keyblade, streaking through the air and displacing the dark orbs that still rained down from above. It struck the Shadow square in the chest, burning away the darkness from it's form and filling the platform with a blinding light
