[attr="class","parm"] [attr="class","parmimg"]
[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] It was sunrise in Radiant Garden. The moon had just set in the distance, darkness making space for light, that illuminated everything, starting with the towers of the castle, wandering down to reach the market and all the houses. The land may change, but the sunset never would. It would always stay as beautiful. Just as the last darkness of the night was cast away, a dark rift opened over the town, a rift that reached deep into the realm of darkness. It sparked with dark energy, something falling out of it, before it would vanish again without a trace left of it. The strange object fell right into the town, crashing into one of the old fountains that was filled with water, inside one of the old gardens. The human that had been send down was very lucky to not hit the ground next to it instead, or hard stones. The water had at least taken some of the damage from the fall away from the man, but his back had still hit the bottom, bubbles reaching up to the surface, before the man was able to struggle up, gasping for air and coughing. He was able to drag himself to the fountains edge, throwing himself partly on the grass as he coughed. The water started to slowly turn red... he was wounded and bleeding.
Ravus didn't know where he had landed and he didn't really care, to be honest. All he could think about was that traumatic experience he just had gone through. Not only did Ardyn live, no... he also cursed him again. The scourge ran through his veins once more, his metallic hand clinging to the ground, so he won't slip back into the water.
“A... ardyn...”
This must be some terrible joke the gods played on him. He had just wanted to die, after losing everything he cared for and now this? Why did the gods hate him so much?
There wasn't much he could do in his condition right now. He was wet, tired and very confused. His first act should be to get himself out of the water and find something to take care of his wounds, but the heaviness in his heart and the weakness on his body was preventing him to do just that. He just put his head on the ground, breathing and clinging to the grass with his hands.

The sun was just starting to peek over the horizon as Rina began to stumble home from the tavern. The barkeep just nearly had to kick Rina out. She had been the only one drinking from 1 am onward. The only reason why she hadn't been booted at Last Call was because she had conned the barkeep into playing a drinking game with her. Bad decision on his part. Rina smiled as she sort of danced down the road, her shoes in one hand and the other out by her side to help her balance on wobbly legs. Something like a happy smile was twitched upon her lips and she was humming a soft tune. Drinking always seemed to solve her problems until she woke up that evening and noticed that her problems were now two fold. She wasn't thinking about that right now. The woman's surroundings became more familiar as she neared her home. All seemed to be a pointing towards a quiet morning where Rina could sleep away her drunkeness... until she came across a body. Lying in the grass. Unmoving. Just her luck. Rina rushed forward as quickly as she could, kneeling down at the stranger. "Hey! Are you okay?!"Ravus Nox Fleuret

Ravus had no idea how long he had been on the ground there, just breathing and thinking. He has dragged himself a bit more onto the grass, leaving some blood behind from where he had moved. Most would scream for someone to help them in this condition, or at least try to get someone to notice them, but not Ravus. He was a very prideful man, even with all that had happened to him. He would rather die here than to beg for his life in front of strangers. It didn’t seem like anyone was going to vein the garden at this time of day anyway, so the would most likely only find his corpse later. He wondered if he would die for real this time, but than he remembered the scourge in him. Knowing Ardyn, he won’t let him find any peace in death, this bloody curse immediately taking his body, once his heart failed him.
Oh, how much he hated this man… his anger was directed from one Lucis to the other. What a joke.. What should he do? He was losing to much blood. He had to make a decision soon. He could make out muffled steps from somewhere and than he heard a voice close to him. It sounded slurred and he could make out the strong smell of alcohol. Great.. A drunk has found him. He opened his eyes slightly, looking at the stranger that had talked to him. It was a young woman, having returned from a night of drinking how it seemed. There wasn’t much she could do in her state anyway, or so he thought. “….” He didn’t quiet now what to tell her right now. Leave him alone? Go on with her life, like she had not seen anything? Maybe she won’t remember him, once she was sober again and that would be the best. “…. Go… “ He moved his metallic arm up, trying to reach her to push her away. “There is nothing.. You can do.”

Rina searched the man with her eyes from his head to his toes. Even in her imbibed state she could see that the stranger was bleeding profusely from somewhere, but Rina could not pinpoint from where. As Rina examined him, he tried to push her away! Rina batted his arm away and leaned down closer to see if she could find the bleeding. "I'm not going anywhere!" The experience sobered Rina up somewhat. She leaned back on her knees and removed the shawl she had been wearing. Balling it up she leaned back over the man. "Tell me what's hurting! Let me help you. I've did a fair amount of healing in my day." Her words were slightly slurred but her voice was strong in her conviction. "I can help." Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] People in Eos would gladly let him die there, except Maria and a few from Tenebrea maybe. Ravus didn't really know that he was on a completely different star, the man being almost sure she must know who he was. Or at least recognize his clothes to be that of the empire. She either really didn't know, or she was to drunk to understand who she was trying to help out right now. Well, she didn't seem to be to drunk to understand he was in rather bad condition and bleeding badly. She slapped his arm away, hovering over him like a mother-duck trying to figure out what was wrong with one of her babies. Ravus would chuckle from his own thoughts, but he really wasn't in the mood of it. She explained that she could heal him, the man looking up to her face again, a frown on his tired expression. “... Healing...? Surely.. you jest... only oracles are able to heal people.. without medication to aid them.” He coughed, his eyes focused on hers, trying to search her for any signs of lies or bad objectives. But he didn't see anything.. maybe he was to tired and confused to? Or maybe there really wasn't anything... well, who knew. He sighed slightly, moving his arm and throwing himself on the side now, exposing the big claw-wound on his lower abdomen. “Maybe you are to drunk to understand......don't you know who I am, girl? Helping me.. would only draw... hate on you. Those who served the Empire.. served a daemon.”
The commander shook his head slightly, his eyes moving down now to look at his metallic arm. “Begone, before my fate befalls you as well. I could bring you a terrible end... And end no one should experience.”

As the stranger finally submitted to her help, he moved to his side and there Rina saw the deep gash that was the cause of all of his bleeding. It was a severe wound with horrible edges, like something had just torn the flesh from the man's body. Doubt started to permeate Rina's thoughts. Maybe this wound was beyond her healing capabilities... No! I can do this! Shaking the doubt from her mind, Rina bit her lip for a moment before balling up her shawl. "This is going to hurt." The woman quickly shoved the ball of cloth against the wound, it instantly starting to soak with blood. "An oracle, huh? We don't have any of those around here. I've got my own way of doing things, and we'll get you healed right up. But I need you to try to stand for me, okay? I need to get you inside!" With her hand still pressed tight against the wound, Rina tried to use her free arm to hoist the man up. "And I'm not drunk, okay? Just...just more than tipsy. I'm sober enough to help you. Besides, everyone already hates me. I know a thing or two about demons. So I need you to get up, okay?!" She tried once more to pull the man up. Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Ravus still didn't really understand what was happening, but it was not strange in any way in his condition. The blood-loose was getting to his head, his words already starting to get slightly slurry the longer he had to speak to the woman. The girl seemed to consider his words for a moment, but she shook her head shortly after, warning him of some pain that might come by pressing the cloth on the wound. He twitched slightly from it, eyes gritted for a moment, before he tried to relax his jaw again, watching the woman for a moment.
He didn't quiet understand why she didn't know what an Oracle is, but he didn't care right now, to be honest. He just wanted to rest, so he decided to accept the girls help for now. There was nothing else he could do, anyways. Even if he resisted, the girl would drag him along either way.
She denied to be drunk, telling him she knew a thing or two about daemons, before she tried to lift him up and asked for his help to do so. Ravus groaned, trying to get hold on the girl and walk with her. She was so much smaller than him, yet tried to get him to safety all by herself. He managed to get to his feet with her help, swaying only slightly for a moment. His will to survive seemed to have been reborn slightly by the woman, Ravus gritting his teeth again as he tried to stay balanced on his legs for as long as he could. He decided to stay quiet for now, unless she needed to know something to aid him better. Accepting help always has been a big problem of his, even now. He had been a lone wolf for far to long.

With one hand stretched around the man's waist, still clutching her shawl to his wound, and the other gripping under the man's armpit, Rina proceeded to drag the man towards her home. He was heavier than he appeared, perhaps due to being mostly dead weight at the moment, but the young woman seemed to be doing an okay job of hauling him forward. It seemed the closer her porch light became, the heavier the body was. In the back of her head, Rina worried about the stranger actually becoming dead weight. "Come on now, we're almost there! Stay with me." Just as the bright sun crested over the wall of the Garden, Rina's bare feet stumbled on a lifted cobble in the road and both her and her passenger crashed into her doorstep. The rough stone scraped at her bare hands and toes and she was sure her knees were bleeding. "Oh! Shit! Come on, guy. We're here. I just have to get you inside." Pushing harshly at the door to open she somehow dragged the man into her home. I hope there's still time... Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] The ex-commander did his best to help her with her quest of saving him from death, even though he would rather not get her into this. She was old enough to decided if she wanted to help him though, so he just let her do what she wanted to at this point. There wasn't anything he could to stop her anyways in his condition. She somehow managed to drag him into a house, the commander having closed his eyes and just holding on to her small frame for now. He had felt that she had stumbled a few times and might have hurt herself as she did. It was all hazy, but he heard what she had said to him as they reached the door. A took a deep breath, forcing himself forward and throwing himself into the house, stumbling and clattering to the ground shortly after. He didn't really care that he fell on the side uncomfortably, but he was inside her house or room now and away from the streets. It was a start. He had also heard her call him guy. A normal person would ignore it in this condition, but Ravus was way to prideful to just let that slide. If she insisted to help him, he could at least give his name. “R..r...ravus..”, he muttered, coughing some blood. If she would take notice of what he had just said he didn't know. She also wouldn't care, most likely. But he has given her the option to at least call him by name. He watched her with his eyes now, trying to breath as calmly as he could. If he would start to panic with his body slowly losing life, his end would come even faster. He would buy her as much time as he could.

Sitting on the floor beside the man, trying to catch her breath Rina could barely him he whisper Ravus. Pulling one more ragged breath through her lips, Rina struggled onto her feet. "R-Ravus, huh? That's pretty. Well, hold on Ravus. You're not going to die in my foyer." Bustling around her living area and kitchen, Rina returned back to the silver haired man's side and began dumping item after item onto him. She poured an elixir directly onto his wound, while trying to coax him into drinking one. When those were gone she gave him potion after potion. After all of her physical resources were exhausted, she turned to the metaphysical. Placing one hand directly onto the bloodied gash and her other near his heart, Rina began to murmur softly under her breath. She was praying to any god, deity, or planetary body that would listen to help her heal the man before her. A light green glow could be seen shining from her hands and Rina just hoped that she had enough strength and time to being Ravus back from the edge. "Come on, Ravus. I know you're strong. Stay here."Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parm"] [attr="class","parmimg"]
[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] The man watched the woman do her rituals in silence mostly. She seemed very determined to preserve his life. She didn't want to give up on him, even though they didn't know each other. Such determination was what kept his Sister going for so long and she kept it until the end came. She poured liquid over his wound, making him drink bottle after bottle of a green potion. Usually, Potions were crushed over the body, their healing power being released on the body and not INTO it. He was almost spitting out the first three Potions in disgust of such a liquid in his mouth, but he realized it would help him, so he forced himself through it. At some point, his body was completely numbed by the amount of potions in and on his body. The pain was gone, his wound healing up and his body trying to recover from the wound. The skin had knitted itself back together with her healing doing the rest, only a big scar left in the end. Ravus had reached a point where he just wanted to close his eyes and sleep. However, the woman would surely panic, should that happen, so he tried his best NOT to close his eyes through the whole ordeal taking place. She had... thrown out a lot of money for his sake. It was irritating, but he was over the hill now. He moved his metallic arm, the hand moving up to take the girls hand on her chest and put it down slowly, hoping it would stop her healing ritual. “Cease... you have... done enough...”Well, she had saved him. But for what price? Such magic could kill her in the end or he might do it, if he wouldn't leave soon. He couldn't defend himself from the scourge, should it try to take over his body again. It was bright daylight outside now, but in this house? It was to risky. He took a deep breath and rolled to the side, trying to use his arm to push himself up. Thanks to the numbing potions and healing, he could move without any pain, but he was exhausted and it showed by how slow he was in his movements. “What I have with me might not.. be enough to come up for.. the value of medication you used. I will give what I can.. and leave immediately...”He shook his head slightly. “Don't think I am not thankful.. but I... I mustn't stay here... any longer. There is evil within me.”

Rina was too busy with her ministrations to realize that her healing has worked better than she had hoped. She noticed only when Ravus gently pushed her hand away. After that she let go of a breath she didn't realize she was holding and visibly deflated, tiredness taking over and making her sway to fall onto her back onto the floor. She breathed in slowly, trying to keep her eyes open and only moved when she saw her patient start to rise up. She herself propped herself up onto one arm, still sitting. Rina was worried that she might not have the leg strength to lift herself. While she was down there she could see the mess that she would have to clean up at some point in the day. Puddles of blood were smeared across the floor and glass bottles were thrown every which way. Rina glanced down at herself to see that she was covered in a good amount of blood too. She would have to at least shower before she crashed into sleep. While she continued to gaze at the mess and start to develop a migraine, she noticed that Ravus was speaking to her. He was offering her compensation for her items and magic. He was trying to leave! "W-what?! No! I don't want your munny and you can't leave! You need to rest. You've lost so much blood! My magic can heal, yes. But I can't replace blood. You can't travel in this condition. I won't allow it." Rina either missed the part about there being evil within him or ignored it completely, but she wasn't going to let him leave just to pass out on the way to wherever. "At least take a nap. Recuperate. I know I need to." Ravus Nox Fleuret

Ravus watched her, seeing how tired she was from her use of magic. He knew that every power had a price and he could only hope that hers was not the same as that of his sister. Maybe she wasn’t an Oracle, but she was still blessed by some higher being. Or that is what he thought at least. His eyes followed hers for a moment, taking in the mess he had left on her and her home. It looked like she had slaughtered an animal in these walls… so much blood. He really had lost a worrying amount and it explained his spinning vision and headache far to well. The girl immediately started to panic, when he told her that he was going to leave after he payed her. A slight frown appeared on his face in irritation to her reaction. She wanted him to stay and rest? Had he not given her enough of trouble? Also, had she not listened to what he had said or did she ignore it on purpose? Did she carry a death wish with her?
“… you must not let me stay here. I am cursed. That you saved my life is enough. You should not lose it to the one you helped.”
He was a man of honor, even after all that had happened to him. He would rather die than bring death to those that care to try and help him. It didn’t feel right to the lone commander. He carefully tried to get to his feet, stumbling slightly and using a wall for support now.
He eyed the mess in the room again, expression twisting at the sight of red once more.
“The Scourge is an illness that can spread to others. It doesn’t have a known cure. Do you want to suffer from it as well?”
He chose these words thoughtfully with one thing in mind: Get her to kick him out. He knew what fear could make people do and if she knew about the danger she was in, she surely would just take his payment and get him out of her house as fast as possible.

Rina watched as the silver-haired man finally hoisted himself to his, wearily looking at the mess. While he looked around, Rina took the moment to look at him. He stated that he was cursed and made it sound like Rina's life was in danger the longer he stayed. He said he was infected with "The Scourge" and that it could be spread to others. She would admit that this disease sounded familiar. Well... as much of his blood he was covered in, if that were true she was already exposed. Rina figured he was trying to scare her, 'bullshit the bullshitter'. Rina knew better. " I'm resilient. You'd be surprised by what all I've suffered. Besides I've got books in here older than the stars, I can find a cure for anything if I have enough time." She tried for a smile. " You don't scare me, Ravus. Maybe I should be, but I'm not." She shrugged and finally stood, wincing at the feeling as blood rushed back to her head. Snapping her fingers, a mop and bucket appeared and started to clean the blood that surrounded them. " Stay. At least long enough to get cleaned up." Ravus Nox Fleuret

[attr="class","parmcontent"] [attr="class","parmtitle"]The protector [attr="class","parmesan"] Ravus looked at her with a mix of irritation and surprise. This woman was willing to put herself in so much danger for someone she doesn't know? The longer he talked to her, the more he found parallels to his beloved sister and it was pulling painfully at his heart. He slowly started to understand, that this woman won't leave him behind, no matter what he would tell her or do. She even offered his aid with his illness, telling him she might have something in her books that could help him. The man started to wonder, if she was more than just a human with all this knowledge she possessed, but he shook that thought of for now. All he could do was sigh in defeat and nod slowly. “...Fine. Do as you wish. I won't stop you anymore.”Admitting defeat was nothing he liked, but he understood that it made no sense to try and scare her off, so he decided to move out of her way for now and sit down somewhere he could lean onto something, without smearing more blood on her furniture and floor. It was not like he could any further than maybe one room. His blood lose was really starting to get to him and even if he would have wanted to, he most likely wouldn't even have made it to the door for now. He put a hand on his metallic shoulder plate, closing his eyes for a moment to try and relax. “It is not like I can do much to stop you, anyways.”, he added to his words from before. “I know I can't stop people with such determination to help others... You have shown me your persuasion.”
