[attr="class","ohlove"] There's a wall that's towering over me if i try to climb it will i succeed? The urge had been tugging at him lately. More than ever. There's always been some curiosity, but it was recently starting to become much stronger. That urge, that pull, but it was something he couldn't do anything about. Not yet, no, if he did, he'd just get killed and then it would all be for nothing. So he'd been looking into buying a weapon, something, anything just to keep himself safe. Well, as much as he could. He'd been learning there was a lot of awful things out there. Something simple might not be enough, if he had to be honest.
Still, it didn't stop him from getting a good look at the prices. It was at least nice and warm inside the store, a nice change from the bitterness outside. Nice oak floors, good lighting. He wouldn't be able to stay much longer though. He doubted he had much time left for his break, and he didn't want to get in trouble with his boss. He wasn't on thin ice, but it was best to keep it that way. He'd rather not use up a mulligan if he didn't have to. Still, some things were looking rather appealing to him. The firearms, but the swords too.
He took a hold of one such sword, and there was a strange feeling associated with it. How peculiar. Though in truth he figured he'd do better with a gun. Didn't need extensive training for one of those. Just point and shoot, right? But if it was a gun, then couldn't he just make the thing himself? He admired the blade, wondering if maybe he could figure out how to work out a bargain or something. Haggle it down. | Wishes and dreams I want to come true. The feelings I wish I could tell you. A miracle created from the things I've always believed is connected to the future. Always, always I want you to watch over me, my dear friend. |
● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside Radiant Garden had become a semi-familiar locale for the Savior. While it wasn't usually her choice to travel beyond the confines of Nova Chrysalis: Lightning was drawn to places so that she may turn the tides of Fate. In that instance she had been in Radiant Gardens for a few days. Mingling with a few locals had taught her about their daily struggle against the Heartless. They developed a means to guard against the intrusive shadows by programming the city-wide computer programs into a unified security system.
He maiden of light today wore a white, simple, sleeveless dress with a black halter, which, overtop, she wore a deep mauve silk, jacket closed around her waist by a black and white pinstriped sash. To fend off the solstice chill she wore a pink scarf over round her tanned neck.
She had arrived at the shop to pick up some lubricant for her firearm. The little woman ghosted into the shop with steps as light as a pair of scurrying Chipmunks. Her eyes drifted along the display cases and shelves which held the various kinds of weapons shops like this specialized in. She was always impressed when entering these sorts of places. On Nova Chrysalis the only city that focused on maintaining physical shops was Palumpolum as a form of tourism, but despite her presence for online shopping there was something quaint about seeing, touching and even smelling the stocks held by the diligent shopkeepers.
The woman came to a stop: crystal blue eyes peering over the wrinkled folds of her scarf's fabric. She watched as the man went between his decisions. While he was verbally disinclined to voice his indecisiveness Lightning could see in his eyes the way he focused, going from gun to sword, as if his decision teetered on a balance.
“If you can't decide, why not go for a gunblade?” Her voice rang from behind the cloth, her thin fingers pinched against it demurely as she resisted tucking it down as she relished the warmth of the shop in her immediate clothing. “They are pretty easy to learn.” Though she was far from reading his mind it was usually a concern for deciding on a weapon. Even she was reluctant to pick up a new weapon as she's grown accustomed to her own. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

[attr="class","ohlove"] There's a wall that's towering over me if i try to climb it will i succeed? Oh, he had company. And for once said company wasn't either a killer robot or literally exploding into gore right in front of him. He liked her already. He looked from the sword to the newcomer for a moment. It was nice to know that for once, he wasn't the only one dressing for winter. Between moody teenagers, a clown, a super robot, and so on, he felt like the odd one out acknowledging that it was actually cold out and should be taken into account. She at least seemed to notice
A gunblade? He looked at her for a moment, then down a ways, noticing some more on the shelves. "Do they even work?" He asked. Namely, did they even shoot? He knew that Leon guy had one, but really, now that he thought about it... "We have a guy on the committee with one but I've noticed whenever he goes for a ranged attack, he fires some magic. From his hand." So did his gunblade even function? It was a mystery for the ages. Or not, he could just ask the guy if he ever saw him, even if that would be a bit weird. What was he supposed to do? Hey I just met you, and this is crazy, but can you show me that gunblade, baby? If he wanted to get shot, or maybe stabbed, or possibly both, he'd just try that line on the woman in front of him. Better way to go than Leon at least.
"Wonder if I could modify the barrel... shape it like an infinity symbol." He muttered, mumbling something about "infinite ammo" under his breath that Lightning could pick up. He looked at the sword in his hands and at the gun rack. "Can I rig something together or is there something special about their make?" If he could just make a gunblade, maybe he could just take the gun, and the blade and put them together! Get his own personalized one something that would be made just for him. ● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside Lightning turned her crystalline blue eyes toward the young man. Her gaze seemed to sing with the chime of the crystal. She stood with a confidence that seemed to introduce a maturity that matched her even tone. It seemed an impolite concept to ask a woman her age, but in this case Lightning, undoubtedly, did not look her age. She reached up to brush her strawberry blonde bangs from her face. His question drew a soft smile on her features, her hand motioning to the blade which rest in its scabbard on the small of her back. Alright she did not appeared dressed for combat: old habits died hard. The former soldier was not given to walk about unarmed, magic aside.
"Just like there are different firearms and swords, there are different kinds of gunblades. Heavier ones are designed for close ranged combat while lighter gunblades, like mine, are designed for mobility and long ranged combat." Did he fancy himself a tinkerer?
His comment about modifying the gun was an intriguing one, but inevitably a pointless consideration. Maybe... She crossed her arms over her chest, the thoughts running through her head. She moved towards the counter where she would observe a straight combat knife. She shook her head and looked to the man in question.
"Such a thing is impossible. Gunblades are a specialized weapons that need specialized training and are typically only provided by the military to soldiers." She paused. "Is what I was going to say, but nothing is impossible with a bit of ingenuity and some hope, these days." She looked to him, smiling. "I never thought to customize mine. Sentimental reasons." She tapped the symbol carved into its scabbard. It was a mark of her former regiment. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

[attr="class","ohlove"] [attr="class","lacking"] [attr="class","eyes"]✎ tag: Lightning Farron ✉ notes: what no, it hasn't been three months what are you talking about There's a wall that's towering over me if i try to climb it will i succeed? He took the time to glance at her scabbard and the symbol carved within, so she refused to modify hers more out of principle than capability? "But wouldn't sentimental value also make you afraid to use it?" It made sense to him, someone gives you something fancy and nice, there'd be that unease at the possibility of... You know, she had a really nice smile, really went nicely with those blue eyes that didn't secretly have murderous intent... or explode... or shoot lasers.
... He really needed to associate with better people.
Still, she should do that more. Now hold on, Alex, back on topic. "Something goes wrong and it breaks well, unless you know how to repair it..." But wait, no, if you could repair it... "Although, if you can repair it, you can modify it." Genius, Alexander, you've done it again. Pat yourself on the back, big guy.
But two different kinds, balderdash! "Melee combat or ranged combat... why not both?" That part made no sense to him, you just needed to have the thing made properly. "It seems more a matter of skill than material." Not everyone could shoot as well as they could stab, and the inverse as well. "Which speaking of material, what about alloys that can channel aether better?" Oh yes, if he was gonna make a gunblade, it would be so much better than that jerk Leon's! His wouldn't need to shoot magic from a free hand. Well, he couldn't use magic, but the thought was there.
Really, why did it even have that revolver cylinder if he wasn't even going to use it? Plus... oh that was a structural weakness, wasn't it? That would be good to know. He took a moment to look past the blades... to a chainsaw. "Ironically that would be the sturdiest base but..." Chainsaws... got expensive. And explosive if you combined the two. "What's yours use?" He tilted his head, eyes betraying a sense of curiosity. If there was two types, and Leon's was awful, what did that make hers? | Wishes and dreams I want to come true. The feelings I wish I could tell you. A miracle created from the things I've always believed is connected to the future. Always, always I want you to watch over me, my dear friend. |
● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside Her chest rose with a soft inhale of breath, falling with the soft puff of a thoughtful scoff. Far be it for Lightning to disregard the destructiveness of a weapon. Spending much of her adult life in the military or fighting she has seen men turn the simplest of tools, to deadly arms, even if it was just one's smarts. He was right in the idea of sentimentality being a handicap much of the time. She considered his question and find herself smiling. She pressed her slender fingers to her cheek, head tilting slightly. This caused her pink locks to bounce a bit, framing her mature features with a splash of cuteness.
"Weapons are meant to be used, but the simplicity with older weapons have a sort of charm I find difficult to resist." She would admit to her nostalgia, but at her age it was something of an expectation.
She spoke like an old woman in how her memories meant more to her than the objects themselves, but she did not look much older than Alex himself.
"I've never been fond of close ranged combat. Consider it a personal preference if you must, but I've never seen the merit in standing stalwart against an enemy bigger and stronger than you." Maybe somewhere Snow was sneezing, but she definitely scorned his tactics, even if they worked for a brute like him. She gave him that much credit.
Lightning stood tall, reaching behind her to withdraw her blade from its sheathe. It would fill out and reform with a mere motion from her wrist and release from its compact shape. She held it with he delicacy expected of a woman who looked more an idol in her autumn-ccenteic outfit. She seemed more suited to the stage with her grace and beauty than wielding weapons of a soldier of fortune. But looks were off the most deceiving qualities of men. Her gunblade was lightweight carbine so it had a shorter barrel when compared to most gunblades, which left more room for the blade giving her weapon more of a saber shape.
She moved to step back and pulled back the weapon, her left palm sliding along a mechanism that pulled the blade under and in, angling the handle and shifting the saber into a short muzzle rifle. She held her finger outside of the trigger: the muzzle pointing towards a training dummy in shop and like a bolt of lightning: from the movement to stance a fire was shot into the target's chest. All that was visible from the distance was the smoke from the gunblade's muzzle and the pinprick hole in the training dummy. After Light would withdraw her weapon, fully collapsing it and setting it back into her sheathe. It seemed it to use a magazine system rather than a barrel chamber. Though how limited or unlimited her shots were like depended on the type of ammunition she used.
