Whatever these creatures had been the masked boy brought with him, they certainly weren’t ordinary monsters by the definition that Genesis understood them. Instead of merely dying, when they were defeated, they had each vanished in a puff of smoke and violet flames instead. Where they truly dead, or was their way of teleporting to some other world? While he assumed the former, there was no way to rule out the latter either. Still he doubted this was some one-off type of event, it had likely been some test to see how prepared The Planet was for some sort of invasion. Though he was certain that he’d proven himself capable, if an entire army showed up on par with that boy alongside an even greater number of those monsters, he could really find himself in trouble. This begged the question: should he report it to Shinra through the Turks? On the one hand it’d show good graces on the ex-SOLDIER’s part, even if they knew about the threat already it’d show he was truly willing to put aside their differences to protect The Planet. Then again it wasn’t as if he truly believed they would step up should the time come, and they may interpret his action as a sign of weakness or even worse that he was looking to rejoin them. Even if he was wrong about them though, what was there to say? Sure, a boy had come from another planet fighting with a giant key but it wouldn’t be the strangest weapon he’d even seen, and summoning wasn’t an alien concept to him either. It wasn’t as if the Turks weren’t watching him from the shadows anyway, so in the end That did remind him though, perhaps it would be best if he reclaimed the summon materia in case they were needed. Ifrit, Bahamut, and especially Bahamut Fury would be great allies to have in the upcoming war. Unfortunately, there was no telling where they were, he’d left them behind for Zack to collect and there was no telling what Shinra had done with them upon his death. Then again, he supposed it was possible that some if not all of those materia had been left behind on that clif and were buried underneath the dirt. No that would be too easy, in all likelihood Cloud would’ve discovered them by now and done who knows what with them. That left the avenues of regaining the summons through either Shinra or Cloud, neither of which were likely to give them up unless there was some moment of crisis at hand. Oh well, it wasn’t as if he wasn’t stronger than them already. At the end of the day they were merely convenience, not necessity. Back to the matter at hand. Genesis gazed across the ocean as the sun began to set, washing the sky and waves in a brilliant spectrum of warm hues. From what he could tell none of those little monsters remained, all trace of the invasion save the damage done to the block by the battle itself was gone. There were no answers left to be found, not yet at least. All he could do for the time being was continue protecting the world as he had and stop any enemy before they could get their way. That was the job of a hero, after all. Thread Theme: A Changing Situation; Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core

He wandered through space, looking for...Something. Something from his past, even a trace amount of it. He had come to gain heightened senses to things tied to the darkness, negative emotions, and in a way...Even the light to some degree. He wasn't really sure why he was now able to feel these things more strongly. Perhaps it was due to the darkness once seeping into his heart and infecting everything he thought he knew. Maybe it was something else entirely. Perhaps his will to find his friends radiated strongly enough to create such strong senses. He really didn't have the right answers to be sure.
One thing he WAS sure about however was the unversed. All his thoughts shifted as he passed by a seemingly unassuming world, there were faint traces of their presence here. Not enough for them to actively be invading, but enough to tell him they had arrived here at some point. It shook him to his very core. If the unversed were still a threat, then that could only mean... He shook his head, the memories flooding back to him regarding that Masked Boy. He immediately turned his keyblade around, heading straight towards this world. If others had seen the unversed, perhaps they had seen HIM too... He had to try. Maybe that masked boy could lead him to the others.
As his keyblade craft entered the world, he saw a massive cliffside town, a strange gap placed in the center. More importantly...He saw someone sitting there looking out towards the sea from one of the town's levels, though they were distant, they certainly appeared to be battle capable from a glance... Good. He maneuvered around to land within the town, his keyblade transforming and soon vanishing in a flash of light. The armored man quietly walked down the streets, trying to make his way towards the person he saw standing upon the edge. Though he was foreboding in stature, much like he was when he was but a lingering will, he did not draw a weapon, he did not call forth chaotic beasts to raze the town. Though...Perhaps to onlookers that may have made him even more unnerving. But he was still in a state of trying to reclaim the emotions he once held, they were still too faint for him to really feel "worry" over his appearance to anyone around. - His goal of finding those he cared about only blocked away these feelings more.
And so there was the person...Upon closer look, those assumptions of him being battle capable were only confirmed. There was always a certain...Stature to someone who had fought and suffered long. They carried themselves like a mighty pillar, unfaltering. But his assessment of Genesis was not one with the intent to fight. Perhaps if he were like himself back within the graveyard, he might desire combat, but here...Only his guard was raised - Not his weapons.
Though he had been fooled by appearances so many times before, he couldn't bring himself to just carry an assumption that all he encountered were dangerous. It was not who Terra was.

Another portal, this time in the sky above the city. Instead of a fleet as expected however, only a singular craft with an armored character atop it emerged from it. Also, instead of being of a black pool like the last; this one seemed to have a core of light from which the machine had emerged. Were there multiple sides to this conflict, and the opposing side to whom he’d just faced was coming to see what had happened? Or perhaps this was someone of a different rank arriving, after all just because there was a difference in how they arrived it didn’t mean that the newcomer was a friendly. Still he wouldn’t give away he’d noticed the intruder, not yet at least. Would give him the element of surprise, at least. Thus as the alien made his way closer down the streets of Junon Genesis kept his gaze forward over the water, albeit keeping the potential foe at the corner of his vision. Keeping Rapier loose in his hand as he had, his wing relaxed at his side he smiled a little to keep up the facade. It wasn’t that the moment had been ruined, he was still quite enjoying the view of the sunset over the water after all. No, but the presence had made him wary, so the smile was a little harder to come by as he anxiously awaited the man’s arrival. There he’d stand, buying his time until the being was close enough to threaten with his blade. Tightening his grasp on the hilt, Genesis rose Rapier to point it at the man’s helmeted face despite keeping his gaze forward. “That’s close enough,” Genesis said quietly, turning his head to set his mako blue eyes upon the armor. “You’re here about the masked boy, no? I’ve already taken care of him for the moment, though unfortunately he managed to escape my grasp when he fled. Still, you won’t find him here. If that’s the only reason you’ve come that’s all I know, besides that he fought with some sort of giant key. You’re free to return whence you came, though I’d much rather get a better grasp of what is going on and why my world is getting involved with such matters.”The nature of this man would no doubt become apparent in how he handled the thinly veiled threat of his sword. There were likely only two outcomes of this, one being a fight the other a discussion of what Genesis wanted to know. Perhaps he'd still have questions too, though the one winged angel knew not what answers he could possibly give to aid in the cause. He could leave too, though Genesis doubted he'd have come all this way only to turn around at such little information. No, this was the start of something much greater than just a squabble with a boy. The only question was if Genesis and The Planet were ready for what was coming... What mess had Cloud gotten them into while he was away? Thread Theme: A Changing Situation; Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core

It was strange, the one he had spotted from a distance, he sat there unmoving, his expression completely unlike what Terra had expected. Was he even aware of the keyblade wielder's presence? Anyone else could have been fooled, admittedly even was he fooled by this calm demeanor hiding above a tense stance. He approached Genesis calmly, though before he could say anything, the one-winged SOLDIER immediately drew his sword. Terra's only action was to hop backwards quickly, his feet sliding across the paved roadway beneath before he came to a stop a few inches further away from Genesis. He extended his empty hand towards the former Soldier, and in that instance a small flash of light brought forth a keyblade of his own, pointed directly at Genesis. Terra stood silently and watched his potential foe as he began to speak. But with this speech, and the lack of further action, he realized that Genesis was not acting upon his drawing of the blade.
Terra listened to his words, releasing his grip on the keyblade as it faded away into sparkles of light. He was certainly surprised that Genesis knew exactly why he had come, he could only give a short nod in response to that. Terra soon pressed the plated padding on his shoulder, waiting as his armor faded away only to reveal a normal man. It wasn't long after that began to speak in response to all that Genesis had said.
"So Vanitas was here after all. But then...Why was I able to feel his presence..."
Terra lowered his head, trying to mull through his still-fragmented memory to try and piece together a theory as to why such a feeling might've been existent. He searched his mind - But not his heart. He gave Genesis a stern, serious look, he would try to explain as best as he could to the man.
"A keyblade."
That was his only response to the mention of a "giant key". Though after a second of silence he followed that up with more information.
"It's a powerful weapon that can allow someone to unlock hearts - Of both people and worlds. Unfortunately not everyone who carries one has good intentions."
He looked downwards at the road splayed out underfoot. Memories of Xehanort surfaced, but then memories of Terra's own misuse of the keyblade as well. Princess Aurora, Braig, ... Eraqus. All of them negatively affected by his own actions. He couldn't even claim that he was a "good" user of the keyblade. But there was no use mentioning it to someone who might've misunderstood. He raised his head once more, looking back at Genesis.
"I can't leave yet. Not until I make right what he caused. ... Besides, I have questions of my own."
He began to give Genesis a basic run down of all that was happening. Who Vanitas was, why he was able to do the kind of damage he did. He gave Genesis an explanation of the worlds - That there were more out there beyond his own. He hoped that this would suffice in sating the former SOLDIER's curiosity, because even though he was able to recall critical details, they too were fragmented, just like his memories of friends. But he still knew enough that he could get the message across - And that he could ask important questions.
"If he was here, he could be back at any time. I'm sorry to say you don't have a choice not to get involved. ... But I'm going to offer my help in any way I can. This is my responsibility."
He saw himself as equally guilty to Vanitas - After all it was his inaction that allowed Vanitas to continue. "If I had just acted sooner..." were his thoughts as he mulled it over in his mind. Just what had the boy in the mask done to this place? Was it a widespread disaster? He would certainly make sure Vanitas was brought into the light this time. That he wouldn't be able to escape again.
"But I have to know; Did he say ANYTHING about other worlds? Did he mention any names? Any plans? Please, if you know you have to tell me. I can't afford not to act anymore."

The literal glow of Genesis’s eyes seemed to brighten as they widened at the sight of another of those giant keys before him. That answered the question of them being from the same world as that boy, or similar ones at least. It’d only been a defensive measure this time however, as it faded away as mysteriously as it appeared. What was… How were they able to summon and dismiss their weapons at will like that? Not only that, but his armor too?! Not only was it incredibly handy to be able to apparate things at will, it could also make one formidable in battle if they could summon their weapon out of thin air when their opponent drops their guard. Even as he lowered his sword, Genesis made sure to keep his distance in case things weren’t as civil as they appeared.
At least he was getting somewhere information-wise. The boy who’d attacked earlier was named Vanitas, and held some sort of connection with this man similar to how Sephiroth had been able to call those with JENOVA’s cells towards the Northern Crater for his so called Reunion. The weapon type they used was a keyblade, a rather obvious name now that he thought about it, and it had the ability to unlock hearts somehow or people and worlds? It was a rather ludicrous claim, manipulating a single person was one thing but the Lifestream itself?
What followed was a wave of information that the ex-SOLDIER could not have prepared himself for. And to be given forth so willingly… It needed to be taken with a grain of salt of course, there was always the chance there were lies mixed in throughout the narrative. Perhaps once Cloud returned he could better learn just what was going on out there. Some bits he had already surmised, such as there being other worlds and some great conflict going on since it was likely what had drawn the blond from The Planet, but other parts such as the Heartless and a very battle between the elements of Light and Darkness was a little much to take in; both from the supposed scale and the childish simplicity of absolute good and evil. Whoever this Xehanort was he certainly was a force to be reckoned with, though he had an inkling there was much more to the story than he was told.
Speaking of being told, Genesis’s eyes narrowed as he did not like the words ‘you don’t have a choice’ even if they were ultimately true. There was no way Minerva was going to let him sit this one out, not when the very being of the world was in danger; especially if those weapons were as powerful as the man claimed.
“Unfortunately the boy left without even giving me his name, the coward retreating as soon as it was obvious I was too much for him. As for those creatures, Unversed were the ones he controls not the Heartless correct? I eliminated them myself. I’d imagine should he return it would be a much greater force than before, seeing he knows at least one warrior capable of besting him lives on this world,” brushing his hair out of his face with his free hand, he continued. “I find it odd however, that with a weapon of such power that you claim he didn’t try to mess with my metaphorical heart, nor with that of this world’s. Though I can as of yet claim to know which is story or fact, I am still left with many more questions than answers. The most pressing at this moment being who is addressing me.”
Too much didn’t add up, though with this soldier’s continual searching for words, whether from a poor attempt to lie or the trouble recounting memories he doubted there was much more he could reliably get out of him.

Genesis seemed... Less than trusting of the keyblade wielder before him. Terra could make an educated guess: it was all due to Vanitas's influences. It was true that the two both had the same kind of weapon, and both had donned armor. Though with any measure of effort, hopefully he could dispel the dark image that had been given to Genesis. He thankfully gave Terra some info to work with. With any luck enough info that he could track the boy down and put a stop to him again. He would give only a simple nod when Genesis asked for the name of the creatures controlled by Vanitas.
Terra could only shrug at Genesis's confusion, why DIDN'T Vanitas use the greater powers of the keyblade?
"Who knows. Maybe he was after something specific. Usually it's only the heartless that want to feed on the hearts of worlds."
It then occured to him. Something specific... Could there be something here Xehanort needed? Terra clenched a fist, the thought of the old master of darkness seeking something... It angered him, it clouded his thoughts for a moment. Even as Genesis continued speaking to him, it was almost too difficult to hear the one-winged Soldier's words over his memories. It wasn't until Genesis asked for a name that Terra snapped out of it for a moment, shaking his head.
"I'm Terra. A guardian of the light."
It was then he noticed something, a symbol on Genesis's person. It was...Familiar. Where did he remember seeing it before...? He sifted through his scrambled memories, trying to piece together the face of someone he once knew. Someone... Who believed in him once. And then when he was about to give up, he remembered:
"Thanks Terra! I'm Zack. You're exactly what I pictured a hero would be. It's not how you look, there's something else about you."
"I'm no hero. Trust me."
"You kidding? Listen to those cheers! You don't get to decide if you're a hero or not. They do, and they've already decided! Whether you like it or not, you're their hero. And mine, too. Maybe some day we can fight fair and square?"
"Zack Fair..."
These were the only worlds he could mutter as the memories of his visit to Olympus came back to him. Before he could even ask Genesis any further questions, his mind was racing with possibilities. Of course! Zack! He wasn't involved in the fight against Xehanort, he might still be there in Olympus. If anyone knew where Ventus and Aqua were, it would be him for sure. He couldn't waste any more time here, as much as he wanted to help clean the mess Vanitas had created, it was clear that trail was cold for now, if he could catch Zack, and find his friends, maybe then he would be closer to stopping the unversed, and maybe... Even Xehanort. He shook his head, his expression full of concern.
"I'm sorry... I'll be back to help finish off what's left of the unversed, I promise. But there's someone important I have to pay a visit to! I can't waste any more time trying to search for them, they might be far away if I wait too much longer. This is about my friends!"
He ran towards the edge of the cliff, leaping off suddenly and dropping out of sight... Before rising up again riding on the very same vehicle he had arrived here on. He hated to leave things unfinished here...It reminded him of the mistakes he had made before, but there was no possible way he could wait any longer, He just had to find Zack. If he could do that much, maybe he could finally make sense of all of this. His keyblade craft flew off towards the sunset before disappearing entirely, escaping this world and setting a trajectory for one place:
Olympus Colosseum.
