"Blacknore": One of the Heads of the Project. Blacknore is a mysterious man that doesn't seem to quite 'fit in' to the world around him. Despite this, his interests align with that of the group, which is to create a means by which they can defend their world. He was one of the primary members of the group that selected one so young. The relationship between the two is much like that of a Master and an Apprentice, with Blacknore having taught her how to use various magical spells, and even various techniques relating to swordplay. Despite his unwillingness to share details of himself, he is a driving force behind the person that Vaneera became today.
Cocolotte: Vaneera's Mother. Not officially part of the group that drafted Vaneera into it's ranks as their personal guinea pig, but begrudgingly accepted due to their influence and persuasion. She is trying to give a sense of normality in her daughter's life.
Sugaru: Vaneera's Father. He is also not officially part of the group that drafted Vaneera as their personal soldier. He disagrees with the methods, but tries to keep a presence in her life despite that, as well as teach her about what life is really like beyond their lessons regarding fighting.
Motet: Not a family member in her life, but an important person... A childhood friend. More details about her may be revealed in the future...
Personality:
Vaneera is an optimistic youth that is aspiring to fulfill the expectations that people have placed on her. Hearing story after story regarding Keyblades has also made her view them in a positive light, much like how a child would view a Knight and their legendary sword. The training and experiments she has been subjected to have also instilled heroic ideals within her. She feels a natural drive to protect others, especially the ones that need it most.
Though she has yet to meet anyone in her life that could be qualified as 'evil' in her mindset, she would be dedicated to putting a stop to such individuals if they proved to be a threat to the lives around her. Vaneera is also not the type of person to give up very easily, pushing herself on through sheer determination, even if it feels like her body might give in.
At her worst, however, she can be vindictive. She will not outwardly show this type of emotion unless it is in front of someone that she truly dislikes, preferring instead to hold that sort of thing 'close to her chest' and away from prying eyes. What she dislikes most of all is those that display power merely because they have it. Those who abuse it because they can. And because 'they can', they 'have to'.
What she likes is being able to bring peace and safety for her friends and family. She has a bad habit of throwing herself in danger however. Often believing that it is alright if she's the one taking the brunt of the pain, so that others might be spared from it. Fortunately, she is not the type to just lie down and die. In these situations, her mind goes into overdrive, and you'll find her fighting nearly at her best...
History:
The day of Vaneera's birth coincides with another important event; it is also the same day that the mysterious man known as "Blacknore" makes himself known. He begins to gather those that are interested in the protection of their world, and the makings of their Project would begin... But Vaneera herself would begin in a normal childhood. The first years as a baby were unassuming, her family cared deeply for her, and took care of her. It wasn't until she was five years old that "Blacknore" then visited her family, acting as a representative of a group hoping to create a means to combat the Heartless, the Nobodies, and countless other enemies.
Her parents were, understandably, confused at what brought him here if that was his goal. He proceeds to explain that Vaneera is a suitable candidate, holding potential that is merely waiting to be realized. He offers to her a unique opportunity to realize that potential. Her parents did not immediately accept. But "Blacknore" was nothing if not patient. It became a drawn out affair, spanning several months. But eventually the influence and persuasion of the group would make them reluctantly agree to place Vaneera within their project.
This was how she came to learn of Keyblades, and the Wielders of such an awesome power. From this day forth, Vaneera was being trained. She was being taught. Everything revolved around making her worthy of wielding a Keyblade -- But no one within this group held a Keyblade, not even "Blacknore" himself. But he knew more than a fair few details about the weapon, and that had set out this entire Project to begin with. They intended to force the creation of a Keyblade. They chose someone young so that they would lead a long life, and master the weapon.
The idea behind such a choice was that if they were young, they would have many years to master the use of the weapon, and thus be able to take on Apprentices. The secrets could be passed on, and then they could take Apprentices... And so on. Until they had a veritable army of Keyblade Wielders. It would all start with just one person. Though no one could truly understand the scope of this task, or just how long it would truly take for even the slightest success to blossom. Many years passed, with seemingly no progress made on the front of a Keyblade's appearance within Vaneera.
"Blacknore" still stood by the potential she held, however. Noting her progress with magic, and that her skill with swordplay advanced well. Eleven years passed much like this, with each day being dedicated to studies, training, and attempts to draw out a Keyblade. For Vaneera, this life felt normal. Her mother and her father maintained a presence where they could, though those within the group tried to keep them from interfering too much. She was allowed to return home each day, just so as to avoid any trouble on that front. But otherwise, she was expected to show up to the Project each day as well.
The sense of normality would vanish on one day in particular. A day that started with her having a dream, a dream so vivid, so... Unnerving that she remembered it clearly. Every last detail. She kept thinking about it the entire way to the Training Grounds that "Blacknore" had arranged for her. But this day was different for more than just that reason as well. This was the day that the group decided to try something new. For eleven years, they had stuck to relatively safe tests and training methods. Today, they were going to try something a little more... Out of the ordinary.
All of this had been explained to Vaneera as she steps into the same old training room that she used. Today, they had captured one of those creatures they always told her about. The ones that you needed a Keyblade to properly fight against. A Heartless. It was not a powerful one. In fact, it was one of the weakest. But even that took their best efforts to acquire. The idea here was that Vaneera was going to fight it.
Understandably, she was a little concerned with the idea. But... She had to try, right? For some reason, that dream kept playing in her head... More specifically, the words toward the end. "Don't be afraid". If only it were quite that simple. This was going to be her first real battle against something that could kill her if she wasn't careful. Just like in the dream... She tried to steady herself, taking stance with the sword she had used many times before. It would... Surely be just as easy as in the dream, right?
Now seeing that she was ready, they would release the small Shadow, and it would immediately set it's sights on Vaneera. It dived at her, faster than she remembered. She flinches, raising her sword to block the attack. The blade almost effortlessly snaps, and she stumbles back from the sheer force. Unharmed, but... Now she didn't have a weapon, or a means of defending herself, short of her magic. She tried to get some distance between it and herself.
It continued to relentlessly hunt after her, moving in unnatural ways, sinking into the floor in order to overcome obstacles in it's path, and taking shape above ground once it had cleared them. Finally... She would throw her hands out towards the creature. Uttering the incantation for her spell as a ball of fire shot out towards the creature! An explosive impact, and a cloud of dust and ash obscured her view. Did she get it...?
She got her answer as it leaps out towards her, just as it was about to claw at her once more, she moves her arms to shield herself, shuts her eyes tight and then... Hears a distinct metallic clang echoing through the air. She felt the blow, but it did not hurt. It was blocked, but by what? She lost her sword earlier. As she opens her eyes, she finds herself wielding a Keyblade.
The voice from her dream speaks once more. Uttering the word 'Keyblade' over and over again. Then, simply stopping. That Heartless still wasn't dead yet, it had merely fallen against the floor. But she would finish it off with a quick strike! With that taken care of, she would marvel at her new weapon... She didn't understand how it happened. But she had gotten her Keyblade! It felt like her life was building up to this very moment, and now that she succeeded. Well...
What was next? She hadn't considered that part.
Her story was only just beginning.

Vaneera found herself adrift. Floating through an infinite void, black as far as the eye could see. In a state between half asleep and half awake. The moment where reality and the subconscious mind starts to blur. Like a dream, you didn't question it. The circumstances she was in didn't feel 'abnormal', as if lacking the clarity to realize what was wrong in the place she found herself in. Despite this, she was being pulled down. Slowly, gently. As if gravity itself were experiencing the same abnormalities.
It was a long drift. Time seemed to hold no meaning here. Finally, something besides the girl had appeared. A platform that appeared to be made of stained glass. Vaneera found herself drifting away from the nothingness, about to land on the platform before her. But that did not register in her mind, not until her foot made contact with the platform. Then as if on reflex, her other foot would reach down in an attempt to balance herself. Her senses rushed back to her mind, and she looked around. Yet like a dream, she did not question it.'How did I get here?' was not something that came to her mind. She just stepped forward, closer to the middle of the platform. It felt like learning how to move her own body for the first time, but it was something that came back to her step by step... The trance-like state finally jolting to an end as the strange ground she found herself on would rumble. Three pedestals then rising, and three beams of light shining down on each one. Above the pedestals floated a sword, a staff, and a shield. Then, a voice 'spoke'. She could understand the words, but not hear the voice itself. Just as in a dream, she did not question it."Many fights lay ahead of you. And to best deal with the obstacles that will lay ahead, you must give your power form. Of these three weapons, which do you feel best suits you?", the entity queries.Vaneera looked to each of the weapons that lay in front of her, and just as before, the entity explained what each meant. A sword of great and terrible power. A shield to protect others. A staff that could conjure magical power. The girl had a choice to make. Which of these best brought forth 'who she was'? She would step toward the pedestal with the shield, and take hold of it.
"Is this the form of your power?", that voice awaits confirmation.Vaneera responds with a nod. The shield would then vanish from her hands, and she turns to the remaining two weapons."Now, which of these two will you relinquish?", it then questions.Slowly, it was all coming back to her. She would make her way over to the pedestal with the sword, and take hold of it."Is this what you will give up?", it once more awaits her answer.Vaneera gives yet another nod, and the sword vanishes, along with the staff. The pedestals then suddenly begin to sink into the floor, the entire platform shook beneath her feet, and she stumbled as she looks around frantically. It was vanishing beneath her feet, being replaced with the same blackness of the void that surrounded her. But this time, it was a distinct difference. She did not find herself falling or floating, but sinking down. The sensation did not last long. She found herself standing on top of the roof of a building that overlooked a vast city. Yet no matter where she looked, she could not see signs of life. It was like she was standing in an empty world. No animals, no people... Silence and stillness as far as the eye could see. The world did not seem ruined, it was like it was just abandoned. The sight did not confuse her. Like a dream, you didn't question it. As she turns away from the city, she sees three people. They were not there before, but their sudden appearance does not startle her."What is most important to you?", the first person asked, stepping closer to Vaneera in the process. It only took the red haired girl a moment to consider her answer."My friends."Seemingly satisfied with that answer, the person would then vanish into particles of light. The next person in line would then step forth, asking yet another question. "What do you want out of life?"This took her a little bit longer to consider, but she would finally give her answer nonetheless. "to protect those I care about."That second person would then give a nod, just as satisfied with the answer as the first, and vanishing in the exact same manner. Only the third remained, and it would step forth and direct it's final question. "What are you so afraid of?"This felt like the most difficult to answer. She would take a breath, thinking it over... "Failing everyone."Just like that, the third would nod, and vanish as the other two before it. The gathered particles of light would then begin to mass together, taking shape. Forming a door in front of the girl. She would step towards it, and open it. As she did so, a bright light would fill her vision. When the light finally began to die down, she would find herself standing on another platform within a void. The same void? A different one? She didn't know. But as she stepped to the middle of the platform, she could hear the entity speaking to her once more."Many battles await you. You know what you want to fight for. You know what you fear most, and you have given your power form. It is time for you to use it."Vaneera felt a sense of foreboding. She glances around, and then notices a small, almost unassuming creature. It looked as if it were made of shadows, save for the two glowing eyes on it's head. Despite it's small form, she recognized the danger and stepped back from it. Then, in her hand, a sword would appear. The one she was most familiar with using from her training."Use this. Don't be afraid.", the entity then assures Vaneera. She would quickly assume her stance. Primary hand forth, point the tip of the sword toward her enemy. Free hand placed behind her back, to keep it from getting in the way or being vulnerable, as well as to help keep her balance. Mind the footwork.. It was all rushing back to her. The creature dived at her, readying it's claws to strike! Vaneera would sidestep, and slash her blade at the shadow! It struck true, and the enemy vanished. But as she looked around, she would see many more beginning to appear. Vaneera steadied herself, slowing her breathing... Focus. Even if she was facing off with many enemies, she could handle this... One after another, they would dive at her, and each time she would step around their attack and retaliate! The creatures were easy to read, and despite their numbers, she was capable of handling them. Soon enough, the void would fall back into silence as she strikes down the last of the strange inky black beings. The red haired girl was catching her breath after the battle... Looking down at the ground as she did so. The adrenaline was starting to die down, and it was catching up with her as a result. But then... She noticed something strange about her own shadow. It looked like it was growing. Far more than should be possible. She began to straighten herself out, as her shadow then began to take physical form on the platform. And it continued to grow larger. Taking the form of a massive creature with a hole in it's chest, where the heart should be. She couldn't help but stumble back out of fear. The familiar entity chimes in once more."Don't be afraid. Strong rays of light create a stronger darkness. But darkness can't snuff out the light. Stronger darkness will in turn make even the smallest light into a beacon."The words helped to steady herself... Okay, she could do this! Just like before... Take stance, and wait for an opening! The giant raises it's hand, and slams it down into the platform, sinking it into the floor, and causing a puddle of oil-like liquid to form...'Don't be afraid'. That kept playing in Vaneera's mind, reminding herself to just get through this! She charges towards her foe, and leaps into the air, avoiding the puddle as she grabs onto the giant's arm. Looking back, she could see several of those smaller creatures forming again... That's not good, she could get overwhelmed if she let this keep going! Resolving herself to finish this as soon as possible, she'd turn her attention back to the obscured face of her most dangerous enemy, and begin to run up it's arm. Her blade was poised to strike, and with a thrust, she would go straight through her foe!The shadows would begin to break apart, collapsing onto the ground in a formless mess... Oh yeah. Gravity was still a thing. She'd turn in the air, realizing that she was now falling towards an ocean of that oil-like liquid that those creatures seemed to come from. It felt like she was falling in slow motion, but she was falling all the same. She'd bring her sword back into bearing... 'Don't be afraid'. Now diving towards the darkness, her sword thrusts forward, and...!Thud."Agh!", she found herself on the floor of her bedroom, having fallen off of her bed. She rubs her head. That was... A crazy dream. "What the heck...?"She'd sit up, wondering what that was all about, slowly getting back onto her feet. "Jeez... I don't have many dreams where I can remember every detail...", she was talking to herself. A sign of just how much that really got to her.Well, there was nothing to do but just get ready for the day...
