This place was devoid of life. No animals nor foliage was drawn to this desolate maw within the earth. As now it stood as a silent metaphor to the condition all believed himself to be, dead. How so wrong the unguided were. The remnants of Mother’s presence scarred this broken, forgotten place. The crater was a testament to its existence, the legacy that would inevitably follow after its creation. For all the wonders this hallowed, shell of a world still held, there were possibly none more fascinating to his eyes than this. The satellites of stone that orbited the wound to the planet provided a perfect vantage over the descent to the great Northern Cave. As he looked down in the chasm, Sephiroth contemplated the nature of those final days in silence. So many alterations in the course of destiny had been taken, though the goal to reach the Promised Land would remain. It had been Mother’s destiny to grace the soils of that fated place, just as it would be his to transcend all these worlds to the one promised to him by her blessing. This time no amount of goodwill from souls of the departed would be able to spare Cloud from the calls of destiny.
Though like with him, there were so many others that needed to be shown back to the true path. Those that had not been blessed by Jenova would join the Lifestream, then be lead upon the journey home, just as they should have been all those years ago. The Chosen One would deliver truth where there was none, deliver these cursed souls from the lie in which they lingered. All around the world, the weak limped on in vain attempts to recreate lives that had been shattered at the hands of Shinra, at the hands of themselves. The pitiful disease of this planet could not carry on such an existence, helplessly feeding off of itself and the world when it was all meant to serve his ambition. The tools to reach the place of promise were littered among this world and others, yet once brought together the journey could begin. Though there remained more to learn, as ever. His leash over this planet had long since been shortened, yet the discovery of more worlds, more reservoirs of power to be culled yielded a greater truth. He might venture forward as before, using this planet as a vessel to collect the strength of others one by one, or simply take the vigor of them all in one fell swoop.
Such a truth would be hidden among so many celestial bodies, so many hearts. A method to take their unified life force would however exist, just as the various means for this shell of a locale itself. Like any heart, those of the worlds too were capable of being wounded, being exploited for their fruits just as any single person could. It all mattered on how to accomplish such a sizable goal. Sephiroth understood that in order to kill a planet, one only need first understand its nature. Any world was a creature of habit like those that would inhabit it.
Cat-like pupils would move from the maw of the crater to the sun, which despite the haze and clouds that overlooked the area, shined brightly through the overcast. Ever the unwavering light. If a world could be killed, so too could a star. What could be said about the heart of one? What were to happen if all the worlds were plunged into darkness? Truth eluded such curious questions, and Sephiroth was beginning to grow tired of idle contemplations. Fortunate it were that a most intriguing inertial force would catch his attention, as though parts of Mother were calling out to him from another place on the planet. Whether intentionally done or not, Sephiroth had felt the presence of another bearing her cells, prompting him to focus his attention in the direction he felt that inertial pull.
A small tug formed at the corner of his lips, a twinkle in those savage green eyes. He would call out to these cells as he had done with Cloud in the past, sending visual transmissions of sporadically aligned memories to flood the host’s conscious train of thought. Within these memories Sephiroth would instill an inception, the desire to heed his call from wherever they might be. Sephiroth wished to identify this host, his intent to gauge what purpose it might serve Mother’s cause in the days soon to come.
