"He's not here ether...."
Relm sighed. How did she even expect to know if she did find him? All she had were the blurriest of memories of her father from when she was a young girl. Memories so blurry she couldn't even be certain if the face she envisioned was his, or something she created to make herself feel better.
No... Nah! It was her father right? Even if she couldn't remember by apprence surely she'd know by familial bonds! ...right? Yeah that had to be it! She had to do this. Strago refused to tell her anything. So she had to find the answers on her own. But she had been to a few places now, even met a few people. But none of them saw him, not that her blurry memory helped describe him much.
She still wasn't even sure what she would do when she did find the man. Tell him off? Slap him? Hug him? More importantly... What would he do with her? He left after all... She still didn't know why. The artist wanted to hope beyond hope that he simply had to take care of something and got lost, or misguided. She wanted to hope he hadn't come back simply because he couldn't. But their was a part of her at the back her mind that doubted. What if he simply didn't like her? Was she a bad child? Did he love her?
Well of course he did! He was... Just stuck, he had to be!
The artist looked around the port town of Paloom with a sharp eye. The most recent world she visited in her search. This town from what she could tell was a port town. Water at it's side to the ships and people... It reminded her of Albrook, though not as advanced as that town from what she could tell at first glance. It was a place of transportation so her hope was that she would find her dad trying to get back, or some clue he was here. Of course she didn't. Which had her down. When Relm was down their was only a few things that cheered her up. Interceptor, whom was currently keeping an eagle like gaze on everyone passing them by. Gramps and her friends, but they wearn't here-that was her own fault. That left her art. She had decided to try and lose herself into he design of the town. First the buildings, then the people and finally the water and ground that surrounded them. The girl stood their and lost herself in her painting. Even without using magic Relm's art had a life of it's own. It was one of the things she was most proud of. She placed her canvas to side for a moment. Looking g over the town once more.
She hoped Strago wouldn't be to mad with her. She loved the old man but... This was just something she needed the answers to, even if it meant finding them herself! She looked over the water where the ships left. From her point of view the water went on forever.
"No... I WILL find him!"
It was a declaration Of confidence, she just had to believe in it. She would find the man.
And he WOULD get a stern talking to!

| Wishes and dreams I want to come true. The feelings I wish I could tell you. A miracle created from the things I've always believed is connected to the future. Always, always I want you to watch over me, my dear friend. |
● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside As many of the cities in this world Paloom was also held behind a shelter of walls that reached miles into the sky. The warrior goddess had since come to accept that it was like in part due to the conflict they had suffered amongst one another in the past. The concept was rather intriguing. In such a world where men fancied themselves gods as opposed to gods twisting the will of men a world was either free, or encapsulated in self imposed bastions. She had arrived at the port after a trip across the sea. An unfortunate side effect of the portals in the Crux was that not even the death warrior had control over where she would land at any given time. A deserted tropical island was not one she expected... She did not have to stay long as a boat from a near by Kingdom was pushing through to cross the sea to the port city.
So here was Lightning, a knight out of time. The warrior stood out in her shimmering Valkyrie armor as she casually sat outside the pub at a table, enjoying the sea air. It did much to remind her of Bodhum and ever glad they were able to rebuild everything. On her hip rest her blade, untouched for what seemed like years, but time had a way of escaping the elder warrior. In her gloved hand she held a cup of juice, staring at the contents in idle thought. Many faces had since passed her by. Some had the leisure to stop and stare, her bare legs crossed and her posture authoritative. The soldier had a way of gathering attention even if it was not her intention. Just something about the way she -- glared.
Light would scoff at the thought and look away, smiling sadly. She supposed old habits died hard. She could only imagine the scowl she had while deep in thought. She wasn't troubled by it, but it could be a deterrent. Her crystalline eyes drifted up from the table, head turning to the sound of a voice so full of vim and vigor it seemed a distant memory. Sitting back her left hand came to rest on he knee, her previous thoughts dissolving as the energetic youth seemed unawares the stares she was like to produce with such outward proclamations.
"If you keep shouting like that, maybe whoever it is, will hear you." Though her voice seemed chiding there was a touch of gentle teasing to it, much like an older sibling would berate the younger for such mirth. "It's been quite a long time." She had no desire to finish her juice, the day having since warmed it amid her musings. "Relm, wasn't it?" What was she doing wandering about alone?
Lightning stood, resting her hand on her hip as she offered a mock, exasperated sigh, but smiled to the youth with a gentle curl of her lips. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

A memory, of tonberrys and hectic exploration. Well it was for her. The other was of course ever the calm and stalwart warrior to outside forces. That was a nice memory to her regardless. Lighting wasn't a bad person at all. More the protective big sister that just wanted to make things right for the younger sibling. At least that's the impression Relm had gotten. She could understand it... Even if in the heat of the moment she was more concerned about being treated like a child she did get it looking back.
Why that memory coming up? Well because that same woman now called to her. Relm turned to face the woman at her table with a smile. A familiar face was great to see! Lighting.. the same as last time in her armor and sword. She really needed to get the chance to draw a portrait of that. She was certain it would look nice. Well it'd need to be a non magic one of course. Didn't want the portrait coming to life and causing trouble! She gave a smirk at her assessment. A hand on her young hips as she gave a confident nod.
"Well good! It's about time he came out of hiding! He's been away way to long as is!"
Yes he was out there. He had to be somewhere. She had to believe in that. She also had to find him. No matter where he might be she would track him down and bring him back home. It's all she really wanted right now. Oh! But Lighting probably had no idea what she was talking about! She should PROBALY clear that up.
"My dad, I mean. He left.. or went missing a long time ago. I'm not really sure which but... I want to find him. So if he hears me and comes... Well, that would be great wouldn't it?"
Looking at her one could tell that finding her father weighed heavly on the artist. She had Strago. She would always be grateful for and love the old coot with all her heart. But this.. it haunted her. She hated that even her memories could be lying to her with how foggy they were of that time. It frustrated her to no end! But she didn't want to stay like that around Lighting. No this should be a happy time meeting a friend again!
"It has been a long time! That's right, it's Relm! Lighting how have you been? Your always dressed for combat, don't you ever want to settle down? Well I guess I'm not one to talk about settling down am? Not going on the wild goose chase I am!"
The girl have a laugh, well she tried not to dwell on her dad. But it was hard sometimes. But that being said she wanted to enjoy time meeting up with her friend again. She could put aside the search for a few minutes for that!
"Well you don't have to worry about me going around alone at least! Interceptors with me! He's... Well he's a friend's dog, Interceptor and me are close to so he's never really to far away!"
True to Relm's word if one were to look around they'd see the dog not but a few feet away from them in the other side of the pub. Though it didn't leap like it did against most strangers it kept a firm eye on Relm and any movements she made. Clearly not a slacker.
"Lighting... I don't mean to pry but... Why do you travel everywhere? I know some people just do it for fun and all but, I dunno... You just don't give that impression you know?"
Though she'd quickly try to make that subject a bit lighter.
"Or maybe your just the warrior protecting us all huh? That WOULD be pretty awesome"

● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside Lightning didn't like the idea of the kid being out on her own, even with a dog. She was raised that way, she raised Serah that way. Loneliness was not something that suited the Farron sisters who had always each other and their friends. Listening to Relm act strongly in the face of it all reminded Lightning of how she acted when her father vanished. Though she had few memories of that time she did recall feeling vulnerable. It was a feeling she had come to hate, despise. Relm was the same in that sense. She had not come across any of her companions and it had compelled the warrior goddess to stand by her side. Children needed adults, no matter how much they defied the idea and tried to stay strong. They had to put on a brave face, or else they'd not survive.
But Relm was also a strong and proud girl. It wouldn't do to coddle her or she'd just resist. Lightning knew because she -- had been the same at her age. But it hadn't made the burden any less bearable. Lightning was compelled to lend the girl her aide. Before she could speak allowed to offer such Relm provided a query that was as complicated as it was simple. Paradoxical, of course, but she supposed as many years as she spent in the Crux it was an inevitability of time. She smiled at Relm, her lips curling with a grace afforded to the Valkyrie.
"I am." She affirmed. "But since there don't seem to be many around in peril, how about I stay with you for a bit, if that's alright?" Lightning held out her hand. Though it was covered in armor the palm had a flexible leather covering, soft to the touch.
It was for Relm to decide if she wanted to accept the opportunity life had given her. There was no better ally to have because Lightning was a hero, the very definition of the term. Be it facing a few fiends or a god, Lightning was not one to back away from her duties. She glanced away a moment before looking to Relm and nodding.
"But I'm not helping you because it's my duty. We're friends, aren't we?" She would reassure the girl that Lightning could be depended on.
The world of Palamecia was a good of place as any to start the search. The fallen tyranny of the former empire opened a path of peace and prosperity that the kingdom could not afford in many years. The world was free for adventurers! MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Relm liked Lighting. She was protective but.. she didn't look down on her. Relm appreciated that a lot. It reminded of her other friends if she was being honest. That was probably why she felt comfortable talking to her. She really did radiate that big sister vibe to her. It felt good, she didn't have any siblings herself. She played eith the other children in Thamasa growing up of course. But their was never something that said 'sister' like Lighting gave off. She could be stern, but kind. Overall Relm just got the impression she cared about her friends. Their well being and everything else.
She really deserved a portrait, she should ask her later on.
To have support meant a lot to Relm, even if at times she defied it or tried to act bigger. She couldn't deny that having people who cared meant a lot. More so when they didn't try to drag her back or treat her goal like it was silly. Well her friends didn't do the latter, but it didn't change what it meant to her.
The artist smiled at Lighting's answer. She seemed like the protective type. It was the same during their previous time together. It didn't surprise her that Lighting tried to look out for everyone. She was a hero after all, Relm believed it. Relm could think of few people who fit the description so dead on.
The valkyrie offered a hand to her. To help her again. Well this time it would probably be a longer search but still. Relm gave a bright smile at Lighting's words and reached up taking hold of the goddess's hand in her own. Yeah... Traveling with Lighting would be great.
"Hehe... Right of course! Having someone along.... Yeah I'd like that"
She didn't quite want to admit she had gotten lonely, but it was clear reading in between the lines that was the case. She left alone with Interceptor because she was certain. The others would ether make her stay or try to convince her not to go. She knew why, she understood why. But she still had to do this. Lighting... she knew the older woman wanted to look out for her. She also knew she cared but... Lighting didn't seem intent in making her go back. Maybe she understood how the mage felt? Well no matter the reason she was grateful. But hey... Now the gang really didn't have anything to worry about! Super strong warrior as her friend and the best dog ever? Their was no way things would go wrong! She was snapped from her cheer with Lighting's clarification. Which in turn earned a soft, happy smile from Relm.
"Of course we are! Friends together!
This meant a lot to her. As big as Relm could talk sometimes. As much as she tried to act tough around the others. She was still a child. She knew that. What Lighting was doing... Giving her a better chance here.
"Lighting... Thank you"
It was everything she needed, it meant the world.
This is where the search would really kick up, here in Palamecia!

● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside A gentle smile drew itself upon the death goddess' face when Relm accepted her hand. For a moment her heart ached as she was reminded of Serah when she was younger. She had missed quite a bit in their time after. Lightning had spent every waking moment since to make it up to her. It had been a hard road between accepting herself and accepting the new people that had come into their lives as a result of their growing up. Serah wasn't going to be a little girl forever. And Lightning wasn't her mother. They were sisters and they were there to support each other and help through the hardest of times. Relm needed that support now.
Lightning's hold was firm, but it had a familiar gentleness only observed for family. Her touch alone affirmed she would never let go of Relm could she help it.
Lightning looked down and nodded to her. "Friends forever." She added with a gentle hum. "You don't have to thank me, we'll definitely have to have a dinner date to pay for all this... I'll cook, if you can deal with a bit of outdoor barbecue." Lightning was not the most homely of maidens, Serah being the one doing much of the cooking in their household. If it couldn't be cooked on the grill, Lightning couldn't make it.
Lightning began walking. The town of Paloom was small when compared to her own Bodhum. A port town full of commerce and tourists it was easy to get lost in the bustling bodies that kept the city-state running as it was. The high walls of Paloom kept at bay both fiends and enemy soldiers, the later of which had since been banished by this world's heroic idealists. She made not a sound as she stepped, despite her heavy armor. The feathered skirt bounced against her legs and the blade softly clicked whenever she came to a stop. Sometimes it was to observe a shop with sweets, or clothing. She was particularly fond of the Weapon's Shop.
She looked down to Relm. "How about we gather information. There looks to be a lot of shops and people see things doing their daily chores. I'm sure if you ask there can be some useful information. Reconnaissance is key to a successful mission." It was the soldier in her, but there was a logical sense of truth to her observations. The worlds constantly changed and with the thread of Heartless crossing the stars, sometimes people ended up in places they did not belong. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Yes Lighting had a way of making Relm feel at ease. She felt comfortable with her. Even so she couldn't contain her excitement. She liked having Interceptor with her but... Now Lighting was with her to! Another person... One that wanted to help her fulfill her dream. Lighting's grin was returned with one of her own. The others were nowhere to be seen but.. Relm knew she could count on Lighting to stay by her side. Still while she trusted Lighting completely here, she wasn't so certain of her own memory. Could she be sure the man she saw in her mind was the person she thought it was? Or was she putting something together to make herself feel better? Sometimes during her search she just wasn't sure. But the artist was shook from those negative thoughts by Lighting's answering her. Yes she had to stay focused! He could be just around the corner after all! A barbeque huh? That sounded like something Sabin would scarf down, or did he just eat the stuff raw? He acted enough like a bear she couldn't be entirely sure. Gau on the other hand most certantly did. Random thoughts of her companions aside that sounded wonderful! She didn't have that type of meal in Thamasa really so... She was always up for something different!
"That sounds wonderful Light! Of course I don't mind at all, it'll be fun!"
The artist gave a confident nod to accompany her statement. Yep they'd have a ton of fun in that dinner run!
Thus they began their search. While Lighting's noise came from her attire, Relm's came from the constant interest she had in anything they passed by whether it was a clothing shop, weapon shop or really just an interesting stall. of course she didn't rip herself off course to search them. But her gaze and comments made it clear. Though the spell shop was the most curious to her. Because that was something done differently than in her world. Well... Not entirely in her case, because she was born with that innate magical potential to an extent. But even she had to rely on magicite from the Espers for some real strong magic. For the most part her magic lye in her drawing. Not that she particularly minded mind you-she was proud if her painting, it was the best around! It simply haf her curious. other world's could be drasticully different coudn't they?
"It's so different... I wonder how their able to just... Teach magic Here, Hey Lighting? Can people on your world use magic, can you?"
Of course Relm meant no harm. Her curiosity was just getting the better of her. All these different ways of learning magic between the world's... It made her wish they had reached out sooner. If everyone could use magic like this... Could that whole disaster have turned out differently?
No... She supposed not, the Empire would have just wanted more in the end, Kefka most of all.
But she was letting herself get distracted! She and Light were trying to do something! Straghting up she gave a nod. She was right if course! If they asked around their was always the chance someone had seen her father! It was a great idea! Gathering info between the two of them. But... Their was still that possibility nagging in the back of her head. It caused Relm to stop in her tracks for a moment, looking at the ground.
"Lighting... What if... My memories wrong? I haven't seen him since I was small... What if I don't really know what he looks like or... What if he doesn't want to see me?"
It was an odd contrast to the mages usually bubbly self. But this was a matter close to her heart as well, something important to her. Though she tried to put it off and maintain her cheerful self it kept coming back to bite her.
Why did he leave her at all?

● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside Lightning held Relm's hand in a gentle grip. Her fingers were loose enough around the younger girl's hand to allow her to depart would she so choose, but firm enough to let her know she was there if the girl needed her for anything. Their walk was calm, like a stroll in the afternoon through market. It brought back memories for Lightning of when Serah and her were younger. She was a few years older than her sibling and thus always responsible for her well being. Relm was a lot like Serah. Trying to stay strong and look on the bright side of things. It wouldn't surprise her that Relm would grow up to become someone special, but she would never wish such a fate on her. Being special -- was difficult. The world was not kind to people who were different or strong.
Depend on others a long as you can Relm...
She was pulled for her thoughts when questions of magic carried into the young girl's mind. Lightning would recall them facing rather obnoxious monsters and she having no choice but to use her powers. While Lightning, more than anything, wished to forget that part of her life it was also what had shaped her and allowed her to protect her family and friends and even the. It was difficult saying that she had regretted everything, but she knew there were things she would have done differently...The warrior goddess looked to the artist as they stood at a stall selling various produce native to this world. Lightning reached out, letting her covered hands run over the body of an unfamiliar root vegetable. She searched for the words before raising her head.
"They can't." She dare not lie to her, give her false pretenses that all worlds were so accepting of magic as she has seen some. "On my world it is a curse and something that hasn't been seen for a very long time..." At least as far as its residents knew.
But in their growth they were finding other means of manipulating the natural elements of their world and producing weapons that are reminiscent of the magitek used by the old world. It never took man long to find a way to build a weapon... She continued her walk, suddenly soured at the idea of something to eat. They would continue down the city streets with a few eyes finding their way toward the knight of light. She did stand out in her full plate armor, but not more than most knights. The emblem on her shield was an unfamiliar one to them so it was expected that some were uneasy with a foreign warrior on their soil, passively declaring loyalty to another. She wouldn't trust her either...
She had longed to rid herself of the symbol on her arm, a long sleeping goddess who no longer meddled in the affairs of her creation, not that she had a need any longer. But Lightning couldn't commit to it, not until she could find what it was she looked for... a door to Chaos. She turned her attention to Relm, the young girl's worry finally surfacing. The reaper turned to Relm and dropped to one knee. Her hands reached up to cup her cheeks. Though the cool touch of the leather had met the youth's face it was still -- somehow ... warm.
"Hold onto them." The warrior affirmed as she allowed her eyes to stare deeply into the child's. "Hold onto all of your memories. Your heart will know which are real, come the time." She nodded. "If he doesn't want to see you -- he'll have no choice when we find him. You have to keep it up Relm so you can tell him how you feel. You owe it to yourself." It was something Lightning earnestly believed in.
Something that she had remembered baring the sin of. She had failed to trust her heart and her memories. She was led astray by her fears and trepidation. To Lightning as she was now it no longer matter if the memories she chased cared for her presence. She owed it to herself to face that path no matter what it held because she had chose to follow it. If Relm did not resist the action Lightning would seek to pull her into a gentle hug to reassure her.
"No matter how far apart we become Relm, just pray. I'll find you." Her voice was a whisper, a gentle promise that only a friend would give vow to, family.
It was up to the artist to decide where they would go now, what they would do. Lightning -- maybe had the power to help her. All her friends did, because they believed in her. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Tears threatened to break free of Relm's eyes as Lighting leaned down to face her. She just... Couldn't contain herself. They ran freely as the Valkyrie spoke to her. Her eyes never left Lighting's. Each word she spoke struck a cord in the mage. Her touch was warm and her words deep. Everything was just coming out at once... Lighting... She was right. She... Had to keep them with her.
"Lighting I.... Yes... I will"
Her memories were real. They had to be... Even if not now... Then she'd know when she saw him. Yes the 'big sister' was right. Her memories that she kept close to her heart.... They were not fake. With those memoires she would find her father. When she did? She would let him know everything! If she didn't want to see her well... She wouldn't let him say no! Not this time. He was going to answer her! The artist gave a smile.
"Your right... Light... I'll make sure he hears me, we will find him"
A smile crossed her face among the water splashed on her face. She offered no resitence as Lighting brought her into that embrace. In fact it brought her a great deal of comfort. Lighting was warm despite what her armor might entail. One of the few Relm could truly lean on... An ear that listened to her without restraint. It meant so much to her. Brought her heart such comfort. For a moment she only stood there. Then she returned Lighting's care. Wrapping her small arms around Lighting and offering the same as the Valkyrie did her, comfort. Well what she could offer anyway. Just pray... To some a boast maybe, but for Relm? Far from it. It lifted her higher, it gave her happiness to know Light was willing to be there for her. That was obvious on her face as she gave a happy laugh, though her residual tears gave their effect as well it was clear the girl was cheering up. Her repsonse? It came with that normal childish spunk.
"I will... but I'm going to be there for you to ok~ friends help each other after all"
It was said in the same tone as Lighting. She had no interest in the eyes looking upon Lighting. Whether they were distrustful of curious... What mattered to her right now was her friend. The one that was helping her so much. They wearnt from the same town... Not the same country or even the same world. But. One of that mattered. They were friends, that's what Relm knew. Lighting helped her get back up.... Relm would do the same some day.
Thats what friends were for!
"Light.... I will find him, I know... My heart will lead me, right? That's what I'll do... I'll follow it straight to him!"
She pulled back just a bit, but kept hold until Lighting herself let go. She was right. Relm would find her father. No matter what hole or on what world he went to she would find him and he would answer her. She would for her, because she needed to know. So she could move forward. No matter the result... She would know.
"Sorry I asked about the magic... It sounds a lot rougher there, it's... Well it's no better on my world, so I can understand"
She had met quite a few Espers herself. Whether calm or enraged... Their were times she felt bad using their essence for combat. She could understand how magic could be considered a curse at times. She just had to remember what the Emperor and Kefka wanted if she ever forgot that.
"You'll stay with me then? This... Might take a while ya know, so if you have a date or anything~"
She was clearly joking, teasing the older woman just a bit... but even that could convey how much Lighting's words had affected her. Already she was back to her normal self.
"I'm ready... I want to go, whether it's here or somewhere else... I will find him!"

● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside Lightning kept her hands on Relm's cheeks, staring at the young girl with gentle eyes. As if she would abandon her friend. She was still young and needed some sort of mentor at her side. Far from Lightning thinking she was incapable or even too young. Far from that, but Lightning knew what it was like to grow up to fast, to become adult long before your time. It was important to retain that gentle, curious youth as long as one was able to maintain it. The Valkyrie's eyes pinched up into a gentle smile, seeing Relm's determination spark behind that moment of sadness. She just needed someone to remind her that she was strong enough to face those difficult questions, because she wasn't alone.
The warrior allowed her thumbs to brush over her cheeks, wiping away those tears before she pulled her into the hug. After she was sure Relm could stand on her own she pulled back and pushed to stand in a smooth motion. She maintained her hold on the girl's hand, looking down as she asserted her focus. To stand by Lightning's side no matter what, huh? Lightning nodded.
"Right." She affirmed. "I'll need all the powerful allies I can find." There was no measure of sarcasm behind her words.
Lightning continued their walk, listening as the girl asked her questions and remained mindful of her own, inner strength. She stared off ahead, crystalline eyes observing the townsfolk. Her gaze fell upon a distant couple. A blushing maiden whose affections were being garnered by a youth with a gift of flowers. It seemed no matter what world Light traveled to there was love. But she wondered if somewhere in that darkness, that she had discovered, existed love. Or mayhap it had been a wishful thought her last visit left her with: the regret that remained in that world's center. She could not help the disdainful grunt that escaped her throat at Relm's teasing. Her, on a date?
"As if. I don't usually have time for those sorts of things." Being the primary breadwinner in her household she had never found the time for frivil-- well they were not so unimportant as she has learned. "Besides I think if I had a date, they would understand that my friends come first." She gave Relm's hand a gentle squeeze. "So let's make that wish come true. This is a port town, how about we ride a ship and see where that takes us?" She offered before starting her way to Paloom's docks.

Relm smiled, her grin was wide now with her confidence having returned full force. Yep! She knew exactly what she was going. She had a great friend with her. She knew Lightining woudn't abandon her. She woudn't abandon Lightining ether. She was the first true friend she got when she left her home. Her first friend among these strange worlds. She was helpng her in this long journey... She had no intention of leaving her high and dry when they were finished. If Lightining had something she had to do? She would help her, stand by her as the warrior was doing for her. She would lend her magic to her cause in the same way she did to stop Kefka and help her friends save their world. It was the least she could do... As well as what she wanted to do. But that would be in the future. For now? They had a missing father to hunt down! For now her conifident nod reinforced her answer, her resolve that sbe would in fact stand with her friend when the time came.
"Awww are you sure? My friend Celes was a general, she helped lead us all. She's the one that brought us all back together back then! But even she still had time to get all hot and heavy~ You know,...you have differences but you remind me of her to! Maybe I can..."
She'd let her words hang in the air, a wide teasing grin on her face at the implications of her words. It was clear she'd now be on the lookout. Like a person putting two puzzle pieces together. Of course it wasn't like an over doting mother! But if she happened to see Light take intrest in someone well... Their was no harm in that right? She could make her happy to~
Being a bit more serious however Relm grinned and with her own playful grip returned would afirm her answer to her friends statement. Her suggestion made sense. Though riding on a ship did bring back some rather wild memories. Namely a certain Esper of the sea.
"Oh your right! Getting out there would help us find more.... You don't think theirs giant serpants in their water do you?"
To some it probaly seemed like a childish trick of their imagination. But while Relm wasn't scared their was a small hint of worry in her voice. After all giant sea serpents were dangerous whether they were an Esper or not! Her last experience wasn't exactly the safest ether. How had the ship even stayed afloat with all that water slamming down?
That being said she stayed close behind Light as they went to the docks. Ether way she agreed that they should get out there! It was the best way to make her wish come true.

| Wishes and dreams I want to come true. The feelings I wish I could tell you. A miracle created from the things I've always believed is connected to the future. Always, always I want you to watch over me, my dear friend. |
● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside She allowed her gaze to drift down to the little painter, her declination of her offer causing the young girl to offer even more help. She should have figured as much. If it were up to Light's lifestyle, she would settle down some day, but as it was she did not feel it was necessary or something she desired. She was far from someone who didn't understand things like love. She had plenty to give. But romance had never been something she was all that good at. Overly serious and raised in a military life she was a bit strict and tough. Not the delicate flower average men looked for. If she were to ever find a romantic interest, they would need to be able to handle all sides of Light.
She smiled softly at Relm and raised her hand. "A general has a greater degree of pull than a lieutenant." She assured. "And who is teaching you those things? You shouldn't be worried about these kinds of things at your age." She reached her thumb up and booped her nose. "You're supposed to be interested in cute outfits and how gross boys are." She snorted teasingly.
Kids these days.
But how to get moving along in this world, searching for a man that was probably far from here. If their journey in the other world was anything to go by, she could be assured it would be no easy task finding anyone, even if you wished to find them. What if this man, too, wished not to be found? Looking to Relm she could understand why one would wish to be apart from their family... It was so hard. Especially when it came to losing them. Lightning looked away when she realized she was staring long. She chuckled a bit.
"Actually, there used to be a whale back home that guarded the waters..." She did sometimes wonder with Fal'Cie like Bismarck gone how did the oceans protect itself? Without Atomosk ... how would the land grow? Sometimes she was impressed with how Pulse lived side to side with their Fal'Cie and it made her wonder just how many of them were neutral like Titan, or given to the land like the aforementioned... "Let's go."
Unless Relm protested Lightning would get them onto the next boat out of Paloom. But where would they land after? Many people would push onto the vessel: all on a journey. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Relm shook her head in defiance. It didn't seem this was a subject she was willing to throw away! She was intent to make her friend happy to! This was one way she could! Besides rank didn't matter in this situation, didn't matter in matters of love ether! The girl's grin stayed wide as she stood confidently and offered her counter!
"Yeah but Celes wasn't part of the army anymore at this point! She was just her own person who used her skills to bring us back together! Yup yup! Then she got down and settled with the thief in our group, I totally helped with it by the way, so I can help you to!"
She could practically hear Locke screaming 'Treasure Hunter!' In the back of her mind, and couldn't help but give a giggle at her antics. As much as she played around she really did desire to making Light happy to. It didn't HAVE to be this way, but if she could well... She wanted to. What was said next however caused the artist to give a huff, her face puffing up a bit as she placed her free hand on her hips.
"Hey I'm not THAT young! Besides, I'm not interested in boys but that doesn't mean I can't help you! I have this covered, don't you worry!"
She'd smirk a bit, returning to her previous position with a confident smile on her face. With that free hand she'd make a movement pointing at her garb. Hey, it was obvious wasn't it?
"Besides! I already have a cute outfit can't you tell? This is my favorite set!"
It was one Strago had made for her. It fit her well and would be able to so for a long while yet. The fabric and such were so comfertable and light. She had no problem moving in them ether. Besides like she said.... It looked great on her!
For a minute there Lightning seemed to focus on staring at her, but Relm didn't mind. Really she figured she was just starting at her clothing now that she pointed it out! She was enjoying her time traveling with the Valkyrie again already! It hadn't been long sure, but it made her happy none the less. She was certain that with Lightning at her side their was no way they would fail! Having someone like her at her side filled her with confidence. With a certanity that her wish would come true. It wsd the one thing she wanted now that Kefka was gone. She just wanted to see his face, to know who he was.
The subject then turned to Relm's earlier question. She gave a small jolt of surprise at Lightning's answer. Ok don't worry about serpents. Just giant whales instead! Ok then... But that did bring up another memory. Though she hadn't been around when it's magicite was obtained she remembered the whale known as Bismark from the times its power was summoned to aid them in battle. One of the victims of the Empire.... She couldn't help but feel sorry for every Esper that fell into their hands. After her jolt she became more thoughtful, expressing the thoughts in her head.
"You know, their was an Esper on my world that was a giant whale. It was one of the many captured by the Empire and experimented on... All so they could harness their magic for themselves"
She hadn't seen the experiments themselves, but she had seen Kefka's massacre when they brought the Esper's back to talk peace. He killed them all for their magicite... All so he could gain their power. Even at her age she knew how horrible that was.
"My friends were able to give them some freedom when it decided to lend them it's aid... Though it turned to magicite to do so"
Their was little a Esper could do as magicite. Completely vulnerable to whoever wanted to use it's powers. Luckily Bismark had ended up with them. She was grateful for it's aid of course but... She wished it never had to come to that regardless. Was magic that important to people? On both her and Lightning's world it seemed it could be amounted to the same thing if you were born or naturally had magic. It was a curse... From the Esper's she knew that. From the Villagers in Thamasa to.
She often underestimated it, but their was a reason the elder had forbade their use of magic, wasn't there?
Shook from her thoughts Relm gave no resitence as her friend led her onto the boat. She gave a gentle smile eager to set sail on their voyage! Nodding to her partner she then ran to the edge if the boat and looked out to the wide see. Yes it reminded her of sailing on her own world. The boats were different of course but still. She went back to stand by lightning. In answer to her words she nodded, confidence spread all across her face.
"Yes were off! Off to find find my dad!"
And she would... She had no doubts about it anymore.
No matter what, she would see him again.

● Make my wish come true... let darkness slip aside Lightning wondered of these people Relm knew. They seemed s competent lot, strong as well. She knew details only family would rightly be aware of or have privvy to. She may not have a father, but she had a family nevertheless. Had Lightning met her before she would have been envious, but these days she knew who her family was and where they were, no matter how far apart they were. She looked down, raising her free hand to clutch over her breast. A smile drew on her features, the insistent youth declaring her maturity despite her own personal disinterest in the topics at hand. Light nodded and chuckled.
Her answer seemed to satisfy her childlike curiosity, drawing away from her self examination, deeming herself the cutest about. Lightning could agree. Relm was quite precious. Her radiance was unfettered by the doom and gloom that seemed to be consuming worlds, nor was she burdened any longer by her journey, refocusing upon it as a meaningful venture as opposed to a doomed meeting.
"I see…" The matter on the Esper was a touch disturbing. "I don't think it's right for anyone to control the life of anyone else. Even a Chocobo decides who is their owner." She could be sure of that, Dajh's own Chocobo enamored with the boy and his father.
It made her wonder how it would have changed Nova were the Fal'Cie were their pets or treated how the Army had treated their wild animals. Experiments... At the time she had only seen it as a necessity to form a defense against their kind, pitted against them by the very being they thought their guardians. Lightning was remiss to remember those times, but were she to forget them in them she would lose the vital lessons and understandings she had come to as not only an individual but a friend. Because of those hardships they had become inseparable, even through time and space. It made her chest ache knowing she had to be so far from them, but so long as she recalled those times with her dear friends: she would always find her way back home.
"Right." She agreed to Relm's declaration. "And with that in your heart: nothing can stop you." She boarded the ship and sooner than naught the pair would be out to sea.
Lightning made her way to a spot on the deck of the boat that would allow her to look out to sea. The wind in her strawberry-blonde tresses caused them to dance, tickling against her neck. Looking down to her armor she would consider what she had to do now. It was obvious the Crux brought her here for a reason. It was nothing as mundane as a reunion, not to say that her finding Relm was something unimportant. Her blue eyes traced the horizon as her heart drummed between her ears as a revelation came to her mind's eye.
Had ye not come, where would she be?
"...Alone." She asserted to no one in particular. "The ship is heading to a town called Poft. Do you think you know where you want to go from there?" It was all up to Relm because that was what Lightning's mission was.
She was here to be the girl's beacon of light, her sword until she could find her path. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

Relm would nod, leaning against the side of the ship. Light was absolutely right. Every being had the right to choose what they wanted to do, who they wanted to follow. To take that away from them was wrong. Light seemed to understand how she was feeling about this perfectly and that made the artist smile.
"That's right! But the Empire just captured any they could and... Extracted their magic... They even faked a meeting of piece to kill a lot of them and claim their magicite... It wad horrible, they had no choice in the matter in that form..."
As the boat began to depart Relm would look about the ocean they road upon with a smile. Their were so many different worlds. But so often things like the ocean of the sky looked the same. The world's themselves held so many differences but so many similarities at the same time! It was amazing to her. Sometimes she wondered if every sky was the same, it was just that close! She knew the oceans we're different because well.... They were actually on the world physically.
She nodded at the Valkyrie's statement. She was right! She was happy to be traveling with Lighting. It filled her with confidence both that she was at her side and that she was so willing to help her. Her advice was not something Relm ignored, she took it to heart. Light helped her a lot, got her back on track when her journey started to get to her. Now? Now together they were gonna find the truth! Along the way she hoped she could do something for Lighting to... That was just how Relm was. She didn't want the warrior to spend all her time helping her without getting anything out of it. Which is exactly why she would be looking for stuff to do for her on their journey as well!
"I will Lighting! Thank you... For everything. I know we can do this!"
Relm was now at the side of the older woman, the optimism clear on her face. She was certain they would succeed. Their was no longer a single doubt in her mind! Between the two of them they would make it happen! When asked where she wanted to go after they landed Relm would tap her chin in thought for a few moments, her face entering a 'thinking' mode and expression as she did so. Then just as soon as it started it stopped with a light going off in her eyes.
"Well we should gather info in town of course but.... I heard there's a cave somewhere on that side, two in fact! One is ummm through a lot of snow though, so I personally think we should check the one across a few rivers first.... We found out of my friends in a cave once, so it's an option... Right? Do you have any ideas Light?"
Honestly all their friends were found in some pretty crazy places so... Maybe her suggestion was a bit out there.... They found Gogo inside a giant worm after all... After it ate them. She also caught the other part of what her friend said. Which confused her just a but as she tilted her head, but quickly went back to her energetic smiling self as she playfully patted her back.
"Don't worry Light were together!"
Together friends could do anything... She truly believed that.
She had seen it herself
