Tournament Reviews This template is to be used for all Tournament reviews. It is the same form that staff uses. Please copy and paste the code from the bottom into the appropriate match review thread that has been created by the staff. Please do not create your own thread. You cannot review a thread that your character participated in. For every knowledgeable and well written review, you will gain 20 munny to the character account you post the review with. You may only post one review per thread. Please be sure that your review is detailed and informed. Site Rules still apply to raid reviews, so be polite and respectful. Everything a member posts is to be read as constructive criticism and is not to be taken as an attack. Any issues should be reported directly to a staff member. Damage Inflicted and Taken: What powers were used and what damage taken should be reviewed here, as well as the effects of any powers used. Basically, which side dealt more and which side took more damage. Key Points:- Overall damage inflicted
- Strategic use of items
- Overall combative dominance
Questions to Ask Yourself:How much damage would that skill have inflicted on the target? Would a skill be super effective against the character, such as using a potion against someone inflicted with zombie. Who caused the most damage? Which side would have probably won the fight. Skill and Style: This isn't for it being well written, but the creative style and effect of their strategy and if it also had a imaginative visual. Key Points:- In-Character Combat Style
- Skills used wisely
- Use of weaknesses and strength
Questions to Ask Yourself: Did the member stick to their character's fighting style? Did they set them up in a way that would have been hard to defend against? Did that character use their unique/individual fighting style, or 'X-factor' to their best advantage? Did they use their known written powers in such a way that they normally wouldn't use them? Did someone feel out-of-character? Who controlled the battle? Who was more dominant with how the flow of battle went against the other? Did a character seem to be reacting to attacks more than being the one to inflict them? Did one player keep the other on their toes more than the other? Did one character seemed more defensive, calm and collected than the other? Did one person execute an ingenious strategy to win? Did one character identify the other's weaknesses or use their opponent's strength against them? Did a character start at a loss, only to turn it around and gain the flow and control of the battle in their favor? Did a character seem to just use attacks and throw them at the opponent, or used them in a way that was hard for the opponent to fight/defend/counter against? Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: How well did the member write and describe their actions and surroundings. This also includes if a character did not explain themselves or were not justified in their movements or dodging. Key Points:- Stayed In-Character
- Easy to Understand
- Overall fairness
Questions to ask yourself: Did they justify certain movements and their character's fight style? Whether their post was short or long, where they able to explain their actions to the reader and get their point across? Did you question any actions or abilities a character did make? How well did you understand their writing? Did they dodge an attack that should have otherwise harmed them? Did they ignore or shrugged off attacks or write that the attacks had no effect on them? Did they seem to know something about their opponent that otherwise their character wouldn't know? Did a character do something you felt was not fair or use a power not listed/misuse a power listed on their application? Who had the best sportsmanship, and was fair to the other team in taking damage? Did someone take a hit that they probably could have dodged? Did a team take hits that they knew they couldn't dodge realistically? Damage Inflicted and Taken: Seeing the two sides utilize strategy to do and prevent harm is nice. The fight doesn't appear to have gotten very far, though. I'm curious how it would have gone on. Both sides were inflicting damage and taking damage. In the match thus far, I would say Naminé and Prompto were taking more damage, but did heal themselves after. Dieter threw out a lot of heavy hitters along with his many status abilities while the other three used a lot of more unique abilities to play the field. With Suly's abilities of manipulating time, the confusion caused on one side while Dieter got another chance at throwing out his big attacks make me really curious how it would move on from there. [******Suly/Dieter******] Skill and Style: The two sides do feel in-character and used their abilities quite well. Honestly, in the use of abilities and working with the abilities of both opponents and allies, they remained wary of one another while working with each others' capabilities. Might be that Dieter focused a little more on solo play, I feel as I read through it all, but honestly the roleplaying with a focus on what they felt and thought throughout the battle they felt fairly and I honestly think the fighters used their abilities to their fullest. Some unique ideas here and there on how they used their abilities, but the strategy and the play on their abilities, give team Naminé/Prompto a better feel for me. [******Naminé/Prompto******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: As said, the four stayed very well within character, their usage of their abilities felt really good to understand to me and they stayed fair. Both parties were taking hits and thought out their posts as far as I can see. They made use of their abilities to also avoid or prevent harm, thinking their way through their battle and thinking their strategy through as they fought. Honestly, I feel the entire match was quite realistic and I see nothing wrong from either side. Maybe some worked out longer posts to describe more things around the battle and the roleplay, the shorter posts were also good to follow and I saw nothing wrong or confusing. They all seemed to take in all the actions the others did and all four seemed to keep the other three in check throughout the thread. [******Draw******] Raid Winner: ***** Draw ****** I feel like a terrible reviewer... Second draw I'm throwing out. Also I feel like I'm terrible at explaining things.

Damage Inflicted and Taken: This battle had alot of strategic maneuvering, healing, and defensive techniques, making judging pure damage difficult, which is no bad thing. Overall our heaviest damage dealers were Dieter and Prompto. This section is perhaps the closet in my mind as both Namine and Suly got pretty battered. This battle also stood out to me as both teams did well at taking the initiative, whereas most other matches i’ve reviewed thus far generally had one team keeping the other consistently in a reactionary state. Ultimately I give this section to Dieter and Sully as Dieter started laying down some real hurt in the closing posts, even through we didn’t have time to see how Suly’s temporal shenanigans would play out. [******Winner Dieter and Suly******] Skill and Style: We had four characters with extremely unique skill-sets with not alot of overlap. Each member played out their thematic territory very well, with Dieter Black Magicking it up, Namine playing her enchantress mind-games, Prompto laying down some serious surpassing fire, and Sully puzzling everyone until chronomantic craziness went down. I feel like Suly and Dieter had far less teamwork going on, with Dieter doing the one many army thing. However I will say this was partially due to Suly being stunned (more on that below) and having more requirements to charge her abilities. However, ultimately I perceive Namine and Prompto’s strategies as being deeper and more creative, incorporating things such as hidden messages, testing the boundaries of protective fields, and other touches that brough the flair needed to claim this section. [******Winner Namine and Prompto******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: This was one of the fairest matches i’ve seen thus far, with only one or two hard to follow evasions in the whole fight. These writers need no introduction, and everyone brought some great descriptions. I felt some of the summaries below could’ve been condescended and clarified, to give a better idea of the bass tacks of what was happening mechanically, but this is really a minor quibble. Players kept good track of both each other’s actions and acknowledged them in their posts, while taking reasonable measures to counteract them or just taking the hits. The only thing that concerned me was the amount of stuns being thrown around by Prompto. There were three explicit stun attempts. I’m unsure if ‘Freezing” from COCYTUS is imbolization or stunning, but if its the later our total goes up to 6. Irregardless, even though only one hit, repeatedly attempting to deprive the enemy of their entire turn seems like poor form in a medium ostensibly about mutual interaction. Perhaps my feelings on turn denial are a bit too strong, and if so take this with a grain of salt, but this minor matter is what determined an otherwise even split for me. So I want to start out prefacing that this is my first time ever reviewing a battle or match. So please have patience with me as I collect my thoughts. Also please excuse any of my grammatical mistakes I make. Damage Inflicted and Taken: So for me this battle felt like it had just started. Like no head-way or progress was made outside of maybe a total of three turns in a normal rpg. So for me this is a bit harder to judge on, but from what was made in the topic I could tell there would be a decent back and forth between both parties. That being said I felt the main damage wielder was Dieter overall so for that reason I will have to give it to them. [******Dieter and Suly******] Skill and Style: For this section things become more interesting as each character had their own unique style of fighting and writing techniques for a battle. I found some styles more interesting than others, but that comes to preference and I shall discuss that more in the next section. For now I would like to discuss how they two fighters on each team cooperated. Overall I would say that the Namine and Prompto pair worked together overall better. That's not to say Dieter and Suly couldn't work together I just feel for them it would have been better if the match had gone on longer. I did love the chemistry between prompto and namine quite a lot too so that helped them quite a bit. [******Namine and Prompto******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: So I'm going to start off this section by saying I'm not the most eloquent of writers and my vocabulary is quite lacking. This fight, partially from Dieter's posts, had me opening up a dictionary in almost every paragraph. This for me made things a bit hard to understand, but at the same time I can respect the amount of work and knowledge the writer brought to it making it a fascinating read. I would also say all of them stayed in character quite well leaving me to be conflicted on whom I would want to see advance on to the next round. Though what really brought it home for me was Prompto's portrayal and the antics he got himself into. Coupled with how Namine almost berated him at the beginning and I had a good smile on my face. Damage Inflicted and Taken: I agree that this fight was too short and thats unfortunate as I wanted more. Very entertaining reads throughout. In regards to damage, I feel Dieter and Sully did moreso however it was a very balanced fight; I feel all characters were utilizing their abilities appropriately and doing sufficient damage to one another. Damage was avoided from both sides not so much, but when it was avoided- abilities were utilized to showcase their effectiveness in combat. Very easy to follow along what was happening too, but I'll have to give the damage output to Dieter and Sully given there was more acknowledgement of the pain on Namine and Prompto. [******Winner - Dieter and Sully******] Skill and Style: Oh boy, this is a tough one. I enjoyed reading all of their fighting styles so much. Namine felt like an underdog in the beginning but ended up playing like Namine if she were in a fighting game, using her cannon abilities from the game series to battle effectively- it had me riled up with how cool it was. Dieter's posts as well were very descriptive and his fighting felt methodical and elegant; just really enjoyable to see his character's spirit shine in his fighting style. Sully felt very mechanical and I liked seeing her unique tick system come into play. Prompto was just a joy to read and his character's skills and style being portrayed as goofy and genuine (like his character) was a nice break from everyone else's engaging combat roleplay, but enjoyable and effective on his own. So very tough. I'm going to give this award based on which team I feel synergized better and overall felt more like a team. [******Winner - Prompto and Namine******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: Ah, they were all just so fair. Everyone took damage very well, I feel. Everyone reacted to each others' actions. Sportsmanship is going to be out the window here for me as I think everyone did a good job. Winner will be decided by descriptive writing here. I think everyone did a great job overall, but one side fell more so flat in this category due to post length here. [******Winner- Namine and Prompto******] Raid Winner: ***** Winner - Namine and Prompto ******
