Tournament Reviews This template is to be used for all Tournament reviews. It is the same form that staff uses. Please copy and paste the code from the bottom into the appropriate match review thread that has been created by the staff. Please do not create your own thread. You cannot review a thread that your character participated in. For every knowledgeable and well written review, you will gain 20 munny to the character account you post the review with. You may only post one review per thread. Please be sure that your review is detailed and informed. Site Rules still apply to raid reviews, so be polite and respectful. Everything a member posts is to be read as constructive criticism and is not to be taken as an attack. Any issues should be reported directly to a staff member. Damage Inflicted and Taken: What powers were used and what damage taken should be reviewed here, as well as the effects of any powers used. Basically, which side dealt more and which side took more damage. Key Points:- Overall damage inflicted
- Strategic use of items
- Overall combative dominance
Questions to Ask Yourself:How much damage would that skill have inflicted on the target? Would a skill be super effective against the character, such as using a potion against someone inflicted with zombie. Who caused the most damage? Which side would have probably won the fight. Skill and Style: This isn't for it being well written, but the creative style and effect of their strategy and if it also had a imaginative visual. Key Points:- In-Character Combat Style
- Skills used wisely
- Use of weaknesses and strength
Questions to Ask Yourself: Did the member stick to their character's fighting style? Did they set them up in a way that would have been hard to defend against? Did that character use their unique/individual fighting style, or 'X-factor' to their best advantage? Did they use their known written powers in such a way that they normally wouldn't use them? Did someone feel out-of-character? Who controlled the battle? Who was more dominant with how the flow of battle went against the other? Did a character seem to be reacting to attacks more than being the one to inflict them? Did one player keep the other on their toes more than the other? Did one character seemed more defensive, calm and collected than the other? Did one person execute an ingenious strategy to win? Did one character identify the other's weaknesses or use their opponent's strength against them? Did a character start at a loss, only to turn it around and gain the flow and control of the battle in their favor? Did a character seem to just use attacks and throw them at the opponent, or used them in a way that was hard for the opponent to fight/defend/counter against? Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: How well did the member write and describe their actions and surroundings. This also includes if a character did not explain themselves or were not justified in their movements or dodging. Key Points:- Stayed In-Character
- Easy to Understand
- Overall fairness
Questions to ask yourself: Did they justify certain movements and their character's fight style? Whether their post was short or long, where they able to explain their actions to the reader and get their point across? Did you question any actions or abilities a character did make? How well did you understand their writing? Did they dodge an attack that should have otherwise harmed them? Did they ignore or shrugged off attacks or write that the attacks had no effect on them? Did they seem to know something about their opponent that otherwise their character wouldn't know? Did a character do something you felt was not fair or use a power not listed/misuse a power listed on their application? Who had the best sportsmanship, and was fair to the other team in taking damage? Did someone take a hit that they probably could have dodged? Did a team take hits that they knew they couldn't dodge realistically? Damage Inflicted and Taken: It was quite the fight between these two wonderful teams. I would believe that both teams took on, and dealt quite some damage. However, James and Mogrid were nearly out of energy by the end of the fight. Which would turn the tables on them. James had fallen unconscious when he had launched his last attack due to exhaustion, leaving only Mogrid to finish everything with one final attack. Sora and Beatrix had some energy left to spare, allowing them to push on with the fight. Allowing them to keep going. Sora using his guard and cure moves allowed him to stay in the battle longer, showing that he wouldn't go down easily in the end. Mogrid having to fight Beatrix/Sora would not end well without James would not end well. [******Beatrix/Sora******] Skill and Style: The opponents of this fight both had really great attacks. Like the use of offensive and defensive spells. Sora's classic Fire spell and James's Kao spells are all interesting attacks, both have a different style. With Fire being one of the most classic spells that can be used in the original Kingdom Hearts game series. By far I believe, there was no character going out-of-character with their spells. Everything seemed to be going smoothly. Of course, when it came to the entire fight, it was neck and neck. Sometimes, the atmosphere or position of the battle would change. Depending on the strategies that were used. James pretending to cast a spell, even though he was silenced was quite the idea. Then when he actually was able to cast his intended attack, It really surprised Sora I bet. I think Both teams used defense and offensive moves equally, even though defense might've been used more often if one opponent was greatly injured, or unable to attack. I'd say the style of all the character's fighting techniques were quite impressive. James using his Koa and his sword was quite an interesting way to fight his opponents. Sora's ability to cast magical spells like Light, Fire, Cure, and Blizzard would certainly give him a bit of an edge in battle. Whoever had the battle in their grasps changed throughout the fighting, going from one side to the other. It would be like being in a tug of war. Mogrid also had some interesting abilities like Bladecatcher. Being able to catch someone attack is impressive, but would be hard to pull off. Beatrix being able to blind an opponent was quite interesting to me, but its a way to prevent an opponent from attacking. She was also able to heal Sora up as well after blinding her opponent, allowing him to stay in battle much longer. Allowing them to both pull through the fight. James's final strategy was certainly something, but it costed him a great amount of energy, causing him to get knocked out. [******Beatrix/Sora******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: The Sportmanship and Descripting Writing for the entire fight was greatly detailed. It really put in a lot of words to describe every move used during the entire fight. Both teams worked good together during the entire battle, Like James using his healing spell to try to keep Mogrid in the fight was a good idea, and the same goes for Sora and Beatrix using their own healing spells to keep themselves fighting. Not sure about blinding other opponents though. However, I believe I didn't see anything by far that would account for being unfair. Beatrix had quite the descriptive posts, there were very long to read. But it's fine. James's and Sora's posts were also pretty descriptive as well, I didn't really find a problem with any of their posts. [******Draw******] Raid Winner: *****Beatrix/Sora******

Damage Inflicted and Taken: Sora and Beatrix kept clear dominance over the flow of combat, with their opponents on the defensive till the last rounds of the fight. Mogrid took hits like a champ, but soaked up quite a bit of damage. Beatrix and Sora’s white magic was largely able to ameliorate what sparing damage their opponents dished out before Koa showed up. While there were some discrepancies in damage being taken, they were mostly (except for a few instances) on James/Mo side. Maybe Jame’s limit break could’ve even things out a bit, but we never got that far.
[******Winner Sora and Beatrix ******] Skill and Style: We had some decent flair all around here. Mogrid stuck to his defender style and did a good job at having his inner narrative and actions taken be realistic to what was happening (except maybe that blinded bladecatch). Likewise it was interesting to see how the interaction between James and his eidolon flavor his various moves. Igniting the sword with Koa’s lantern was particularly cool to me. Beatrix gave a great deal of flavor even to the normally abstract spells like blind and portrayed an opponent that was both ruthless and regal. Dungeon for his part excelled at portraying Sora’s fighting style, going so far as to write the sound effects. Beatrix deployed status ailment spells to devastating effect, even if the lack of a dice roll attached a multiple-post lock-out felt a tad oppressive when used on the same person twice. A major characterization head scratcher was when Jame’s expressed some doubt over whether his opponent’s would survive his Limit Break. It might’ve been a joke, but the narrative didn’t elucidate that. If not then it seems quite out of character. Overall, James and Mogrid coordinated better together by a slight margin, though they could’ve definitely done with more communication. . [******Winner Mogrid and James******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: All here are great writers as mentioned in the previous section. From a narrative point of view i’d like to hand it to Mogrid with both the most realistic internal monologue and giving us an intriguing bit of backstory with both his reaction to Sora’s keyblade and explanation of his own. Likewise he did an excellent job actually describing wounds and the strain of battle, something often neglected. Beatrix wrote very detailed posts but also provided concise summaries below to make sure we didn’t get lost. Its the sportsmanship section that had some troubling aspects. The first mater at hand is the afore mentioned double Silence on James. While James worked around it, it seems a big rude to repeatedly lock someone’s abilities unless its a tactical necessity. (Can do something does not mean one Should do something) It might’ve been more sporting to split the silence between James and Mogrid when there is no dice roll attached. While I was at first concerned about Mogrid’s multiple blocks at the start, those concerns were quickly laid to rest as he took quite a bit of damage even after using his defense Limit. Overall I want to give praise to Mogrid for playing very fairly and sticking to his dice rolls. I found many of Jame’s post summaries to be very unclear, not helped by vague descriptions, Koa’s protection being the most glaring case. Does it reduce damage? Does it made the user invulnerable? The later largely seemed the case as multiple attacks from Sora and Beatrix when largely unacknowledged in both the narrative and summary. (If so, then 3 turn invulnerability is quite unsporting) Likewise Koa’s HP total didn’t take the requisite amount of damage considering Summons can’t dodge, likewise for Beatrix’s paralysis effect on Koa. Also striking was Jame’s complaining to Sora about wanting to paired with him instead of the Mogrid. Even if ICly the case, it seemed rather disrespectful on an OC basis and more then a bit out of character. Despite Mogrid’s fairness, these considerations decided the matter for me.

Damage Inflicted and Taken: So, I will adamantly admit that I felt that each party involved was undoubtedly fair with the damage dealt and taken, there was definitely a semblance of realism involved that is often times forgotten. I will note it felt like Beatrix and Sora controlled the tides of war, if for no reason beyond the fact that Beatrix went out from the gate to secure her enemies’ magick and debuffing them. I will also tact on that Beatrix seamlessly alternated between her targets, undoubtedly keeping them on their toes. Meanwhile, I will say that Mogrid and James’ usage of curative magick, not to mention Koa’s presence, I felt were valiant attempts at changing the battle’s pace – it lasted for a very brief period of time. None the less, I still have to give this one to Sora and Beatrix.
[******Sora / Beatrix ******] Skill and Style: So, I will say that both Beatrix and Sora did a commendable job remaining in-character throughout the duration of their battle. I was thoroughly pleased with the way that Beatrix addressed her opponents, retaining that distinct grace and regalness that I’d come to love during my tenure of FF-9. I also like how Sora’s air-headed antics just kept making themselves apparent, however, he also maintains that adaptability that is token for his fandom. Now, James, I will say that you utilized your skills very tactically, you attempted to turn the tide of battle, a feat you succeeded in for a very brief period of time. Mogrid, you also made use of your racial-passives, not to mention your abilities as a mage and a keyblade. So for this one, I am going to have to label it as a draw because both teams were fairly well matched in the terms of skill-usages and trying to capitalize on other’s weaknesses.
[******Draw ******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship:
So, on this front, I want to first commend each of the participants for their fine displays. Beatrix's posts while lengthy provided a great detail of flourish that I simply relished in. I know that Sora's posts were shorter but they managed to capture his essence. Mogrid and James, both of your writing painted very vivid pictures be it from internalized monologues, or James' reluctance to utilize the full might of Koa's powers because of fears of killing or injuring people. Now, I will say that James, you did a stellar job on your exit in the thread, having him over-extend himself just for a chance at victory - if Mogrid would have been in better condition, there was a very probable chance of your securing victory. However, based off what is written, it was a blinded Mogrid against Beatrix and Sora, so I have to give them that.
