Tournament Reviews This template is to be used for all Tournament reviews. It is the same form that staff uses. Please copy and paste the code from the bottom into the appropriate match review thread that has been created by the staff. Please do not create your own thread. You cannot review a thread that your character participated in. For every knowledgeable and well written review, you will gain 20 munny to the character account you post the review with. You may only post one review per thread. Please be sure that your review is detailed and informed. Site Rules still apply to raid reviews, so be polite and respectful. Everything a member posts is to be read as constructive criticism and is not to be taken as an attack. Any issues should be reported directly to a staff member. Damage Inflicted and Taken: What powers were used and what damage taken should be reviewed here, as well as the effects of any powers used. Basically, which side dealt more and which side took more damage. Key Points:- Overall damage inflicted
- Strategic use of items
- Overall combative dominance
Questions to Ask Yourself:How much damage would that skill have inflicted on the target? Would a skill be super effective against the character, such as using a potion against someone inflicted with zombie. Who caused the most damage? Which side would have probably won the fight. Skill and Style: This isn't for it being well written, but the creative style and effect of their strategy and if it also had a imaginative visual. Key Points:- In-Character Combat Style
- Skills used wisely
- Use of weaknesses and strength
Questions to Ask Yourself: Did the member stick to their character's fighting style? Did they set them up in a way that would have been hard to defend against? Did that character use their unique/individual fighting style, or 'X-factor' to their best advantage? Did they use their known written powers in such a way that they normally wouldn't use them? Did someone feel out-of-character? Who controlled the battle? Who was more dominant with how the flow of battle went against the other? Did a character seem to be reacting to attacks more than being the one to inflict them? Did one player keep the other on their toes more than the other? Did one character seemed more defensive, calm and collected than the other? Did one person execute an ingenious strategy to win? Did one character identify the other's weaknesses or use their opponent's strength against them? Did a character start at a loss, only to turn it around and gain the flow and control of the battle in their favor? Did a character seem to just use attacks and throw them at the opponent, or used them in a way that was hard for the opponent to fight/defend/counter against? Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: How well did the member write and describe their actions and surroundings. This also includes if a character did not explain themselves or were not justified in their movements or dodging. Key Points:- Stayed In-Character
- Easy to Understand
- Overall fairness
Questions to ask yourself: Did they justify certain movements and their character's fight style? Whether their post was short or long, where they able to explain their actions to the reader and get their point across? Did you question any actions or abilities a character did make? How well did you understand their writing? Did they dodge an attack that should have otherwise harmed them? Did they ignore or shrugged off attacks or write that the attacks had no effect on them? Did they seem to know something about their opponent that otherwise their character wouldn't know? Did a character do something you felt was not fair or use a power not listed/misuse a power listed on their application? Who had the best sportsmanship, and was fair to the other team in taking damage? Did someone take a hit that they probably could have dodged? Did a team take hits that they knew they couldn't dodge realistically? Damage Inflicted and Taken: In terms of sheer offensive force being thrown about, Cloud definitely takes this one, tossing some of his more powerful offensive options out like candy from a parade. However, the amount of damage being taken was rather low by all parties, even despite the wild offenses being dished out. Though for the purposes of this review requiring a winner in each category as long as it's possible, I'd have to give it to Cloud, with credit due Marlene in later sections. [******Cloud/Marlene******] Skill and Style: In terms of skill and style, both parties brought a fair amount to the table. Marlene did very well providing distractions and support for Cloud even without being an actual combat character, something my hat is off to her for. And while Fear did well trying to target her to keep Cloud defensive, and even try to split them apart, his tactics and the way he played was not very..."stylish"? That is to say, despite the style that he brings to his post, his repertoire on display in this battle is rather bland. As a result, he suffers in this category, and rather greatly in the next as well. [******Cloud/Marlene******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: Here we come to a crossroads, as I have some less than ideal pieces of critique for both sides in this regard. First, I'll cover the descriptive writing--all parties involved did very well there. I never felt like the picture I was seeing was unclear, and everyone did a good job with that. However, as far as sportsmanship goes, I felt there was a fair bit of brutality and disregard between writers in this one. Cloud starts off with what is in my opinion a very uncharacteristic display of power considering how he normally battles, and winds down a bit from thankfully. However, Fear seems unfairly evasive of everything Cloud throws at him at the same time. Entirely avoiding Ultima and Meteorain without taking even a touch of damage? Seems rather unsportsmanly to me. Both sides were a touch less than sportsmanly, though I ultimately have to give this one over to Cloud and Marlene as well for being a touch better about it. Damage Inflicted and Taken: This was an extremely defensive match, and, had time allowed it, I could have easily seen this one lasting another month. That being said, the flow of battle was almost entirely set by Fear's actions. Cloud spent 70% of the match playing defense, and Marlene helped with her Home Alone tactics whenever she could. Damage wise, Cloud took way more hits, and didn't deal out as many connected blows. Fear kept the attacks rolling, but only took a couple hits throughout the entire fight. In terms of damage inflicted and taken, Fear took less and dealt out more. [******Fear******] Skill and Style: This one was a landslide. In terms of style, Fear didn't have a whole lot going for him. He evaded or dodged an attack and shot either Cloud or Marlene, rinse and repeat. Cloud, spent a lot of his time blocking attacks meant for Marlene and attempting what attacks he could. I do give him points for his reaction to the gravity attack at the beginning. It felt very similar to his Advent Children fight scenes, and he made excellent use of his fusion blades. Marlene was an absolute gem in this thread! She is a lot of the reason I give this one to her and Cloud. We all know she wouldn't stand much of a chance in a full on battle, but she did every damn thing she could to try to give Cloud an opening, even though none of it amounted to anything. I love the child-like antics she displayed. [******Cloud/Marlene******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: This fight was entirely too defensive. I am very disappointed to read some of the actions that were evaded that really shouldn't have been. Fear, in my opinion, avoided way more damage than he should have. I do not see how one can dodge Cloud's Meteorain, Ultima, and Omnislash entirely. In terms of Sportsmanship, this is one sided. Cloud blocked a lot of attacks, that's for sure, BUT it was almost entirely normal gunfire, which is something Cloud was shown to do in very similar situations in Advent Children. It was a very in character thing to do for him to protect Marlene the way he did, so I will not take any points away from him for that. Fear couldn't even be bothered to let a crayon hit him in the side of the face or take an attack after he slipped on marbles.
In terms of Descriptive Writing, all three parties did admirably. I don't see anything at all wrong with anyone when it comes to describing their actions. Kudos to you guys on this one. [******Cloud/Marlene******] Raid Winner:

Damage Inflicted and Taken: As expressed by my other co-reveiwers this promising fight between Heartless Bobo-Fett and Cloud turned out surprisingly sedate. It was mostly a battle of attrition, solidified by Marlene’s presence here. Concerns about dodging and so forth will be addressed in the appropriate section, and thus I will just take on damage as dealt in the scenario. With this in mind Fear wins easily, having dodged nearly everything and wounded Cloud repeatedly. He dictated the flow of battle, though it Marlene's presence was the major contributer there. [******Winner Fear******] Skill and Style: Firstly, lets acknowledge that Fear had to fight most of this without a partner and thus had no one bounce off of style-wise. Overall Marlene had by far the most personality and style of this thread, even though I was initially dubious whether she would contribute anything narratively, but her writer did a great job with very little to work with. While Fear did a couple creative dodges, his tactics didn’t vary appreciably during the fight, making it repetitive. While I will give credit to Fear to facing off against a character with a much vaster arsenal (always a hazard when going up against canon characters from big-name franchises ) I feel far more could of been done with what he had. While the same criticism could be leveled at Cloud (who basically just spammed big-name attacks for a while there, using a huge canon character arsenal as a crutch), he was admittedly limited by his obligation to protect Marlene, and did some pretty interesting stuff with those fusion blades. Overall I think he thought through the evolving battlefield more and Marlene gave alot to the thread. [******Winner Cloud and Marlene******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: While I’d like to say otherwise this is section is where both team’s fall a bit flat. (except for Marlene naturally) Both Cloud and Fear evade/block spammed post after post, which was a real shame considering how well written many of those posts are. In the writting department id like to give Cloud some real cred here for not only describing Cloud's emotions while protecting Marlene, but also elaborating a bit on their relationship. Fear, despite using legitimate abilities to dodge some attacks, nether-less escaped some rather enormous attacks with a cleaness that was head-scratching, with the dodge of Omni-slash being the most blatantly unrealistic in my opinion. Cloud for his part didn’t even counter with abilities and just sort of hand-waved many of Fear’s attacks away with pretty flimsy justification at times. I will deviate from my co-reviewers and not cut any “well that canon that can do that in the movies/game" slack, as unsporting is unsporting regardless. What saved C and M is Cloud overall being somewhat fairer and taking appreciable damage several times.

Damage Inflicted and Taken: So I will put out the disclaimer, this category was possible the easiest one for me to decide upon, Fear / Shiro, without question dealt the most punishment to Cloud, albeit, my other concerns with this are addressed in the following categories. I will still say that Cloud and Marlene did a valiantly to inflict suffrage upon their opponent, Marlene’s antics made me chuckle more than a couple times.
[******Fear/Shiro******] Skill and Style:
So, in the sense of skill and style, I think both parties made use of their limited arsenal of techniques, this is especially true for Marlene, whom has no active combat abilities, and instead opts to use her plethora of toys as a means to distract and assist Cloud throughout the battle. This made me smile wholeheartedly because Marlene refused to let herself just be a liability. Now, I will say that Cloud’s defensive approach was very in character for him, so I was thoroughly pleased with that. On the other hand, Shiro’s writing style was phenomenal, I thoroughly enjoyed reading the thread. So for this one, I am going to chalk it up as a draw.
[******DRAW ******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship:
So the descriptive writing and the repertoire between Cloud and Marlene definitely gave them some points, I will say that Fear/Shiro was definitely not a slouch by any means, his descriptive writing made it very clear what his character was doing at all times. However, when we address the matter of sportsmanships, I will say that both parties combatants ( Cloud & Fear/Shiro) were guilty of some rather crazy degrees of dodging, I will say that Shiro dodging Ultima and Omnislash entirely is what was the deciding factor. Marlene ( you keep doing your little childish antics, they make me smile alot )

Damage Inflicted and Taken: No idea if I need to expand on this further. As indicated by the others, very defensive match, but on the matter of dishing out damage and taking damage. Fear obviously stood out there and wins in this category. This match could go on for a long while if anything, some interesting moves are thrown out and some offence for defense here and there. Honestly wonder how the ending would’ve worked out, but I feel some of the abilities should’ve gone very different in some scenario’s. Though, Cloud does throw out a lot of heavy hitting abilities throughout the thread. Heh... [******Fear******] Skill and Style: All three have been doing their best throughout the thread. With Fear lacking a partner, he used his arsenal as best as he could against the bigger arsenal Cloud had. Then there was Marlene in there, who was being really creative with whatever she could do and provide support through whichever tactics she could think up. Honestly it was rather difficult for Fear to deal with both of them despite my initial feeling that Fear had a good chance to cause a lot of trouble for the two. He did do as such in many area’s, but I... really anticipated this playing out differently. xD;;; Fear’s tactics were many times straight-forward and he kept his opponents very defensive while Cloud was kept almost exclusively in that position. [******Marlene/Cloud******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: As said, the spam of blocks and evades went... perhaps a little too far. A lot of this could’ve been done better. Both teams are a bit lacking in this department and really worked their bums off against one another without really appealing towards this section at all. Honestly, many of these should’ve never been dodges. Certainly, Cloud has shown to be capable of blocking and avoiding gunfire, which was most of the attacks. But honestly it’s still a bit much throughout the thread. I feel some things were missing here and there in roleplay as well, plus kind of sad how Fear’s partner disappeared from the get-go. Regardless, sure a lot of Cloud’s actions could be justified, I feel both parties could’ve done some things differently and I find it a bit difficult to judge based on just some small notes. All three were descriptive, but I feel there’s just a lot of trouble for me to decide a clear winner for this section. There could’ve been some more sportsmanship from both sides. Sorry. -bows- [******Draw******] Raid Winner: *****Draw******
