Tournament Reviews This template is to be used for all Tournament reviews. It is the same form that staff uses. Please copy and paste the code from the bottom into the appropriate match review thread that has been created by the staff. Please do not create your own thread. You cannot review a thread that your character participated in. For every knowledgeable and well written review, you will gain 20 munny to the character account you post the review with. You may only post one review per thread. Please be sure that your review is detailed and informed. Site Rules still apply to raid reviews, so be polite and respectful. Everything a member posts is to be read as constructive criticism and is not to be taken as an attack. Any issues should be reported directly to a staff member. Damage Inflicted and Taken: What powers were used and what damage taken should be reviewed here, as well as the effects of any powers used. Basically, which side dealt more and which side took more damage. Key Points:- Overall damage inflicted
- Strategic use of items
- Overall combative dominance
Questions to Ask Yourself:How much damage would that skill have inflicted on the target? Would a skill be super effective against the character, such as using a potion against someone inflicted with zombie. Who caused the most damage? Which side would have probably won the fight. Skill and Style: This isn't for it being well written, but the creative style and effect of their strategy and if it also had a imaginative visual. Key Points:- In-Character Combat Style
- Skills used wisely
- Use of weaknesses and strength
Questions to Ask Yourself: Did the member stick to their character's fighting style? Did they set them up in a way that would have been hard to defend against? Did that character use their unique/individual fighting style, or 'X-factor' to their best advantage? Did they use their known written powers in such a way that they normally wouldn't use them? Did someone feel out-of-character? Who controlled the battle? Who was more dominant with how the flow of battle went against the other? Did a character seem to be reacting to attacks more than being the one to inflict them? Did one player keep the other on their toes more than the other? Did one character seemed more defensive, calm and collected than the other? Did one person execute an ingenious strategy to win? Did one character identify the other's weaknesses or use their opponent's strength against them? Did a character start at a loss, only to turn it around and gain the flow and control of the battle in their favor? Did a character seem to just use attacks and throw them at the opponent, or used them in a way that was hard for the opponent to fight/defend/counter against? Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: How well did the member write and describe their actions and surroundings. This also includes if a character did not explain themselves or were not justified in their movements or dodging. Key Points:- Stayed In-Character
- Easy to Understand
- Overall fairness
Questions to ask yourself: Did they justify certain movements and their character's fight style? Whether their post was short or long, where they able to explain their actions to the reader and get their point across? Did you question any actions or abilities a character did make? How well did you understand their writing? Did they dodge an attack that should have otherwise harmed them? Did they ignore or shrugged off attacks or write that the attacks had no effect on them? Did they seem to know something about their opponent that otherwise their character wouldn't know? Did a character do something you felt was not fair or use a power not listed/misuse a power listed on their application? Who had the best sportsmanship, and was fair to the other team in taking damage? Did someone take a hit that they probably could have dodged? Did a team take hits that they knew they couldn't dodge realistically? Damage Inflicted and Taken: This battle was an interesting beast due to the much higher then usual presence of Protective abilities across the board, coupled with some time magic to boot. This and other teamwork related factors made this battle much more strategic then a general whack-em-up brawl. Overall, Zest and Tidus (Zedus? Tidest?) controlled the flow of the battle, keeping Pain and Maeve (Paive, Maine?) largely on the defensive, the later starting out at an advantage after a Tidus’ decisive opening Slowga. That coupled with Maeve going down means that this section goes to Zest and Tidus.
[******Zest and Tidus******] Skill and Style:
This section is harder. Valk and Aqua did a good job illuminating the contrast in Paine and Tidus’ fighting styles, leading to interesting character moments later on. Both Zest and Maeve provided great detail and flair with their attacks, notably this was done in a way that made it clear what was physically happening. Both sides did very well, however what pushes it over to Zest and Tidus in my mind is their higher level of teamwork and coordination. This is not say that Maeve and didn’t try and coordinate, indeed Maeve went so far as take a KO for her comrade. However while it was close, Zest and Tidus’ teamwork was overall more visibly effective.
[******Zest and Tidus******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship:
One thing that I thought was great about this fight overall was how In-character everyone was, not letting the pitched battle scenario turn their characters into painted chess pieces. Maeve and Zest both repeatedly displayed knightly behavior in keeping with their characters, even when it was strategically disadvantageous. I will say there was quite alot of all-out blocking by Zest especially while Tidus and Maeve were more willing to take damage and described well the strain of combat on their characters. Likewise there were a couple times with Paine where it was very unclear if she was actually damage/hit by the attack in question, it being acknowledged in neither narrative nor summary. However, the most creative Block of a block-full combat goes to Paine, whose description of utilizing the smoke from Tidus’ aqua blade meeting Flametongue was pretty ingenious. Overall both sides did awesome, but I was impressed by Maeve’s willingness to take and play out a stun from a spammable action-denial move that had no dice roll chance, likewise she was willing to go all the way to play out her character’s traits. My vote for this section ultimately goes to Maeve and Paine.

Review number two in my string. As with the first, I'm going for complete honesty and transparency. Even if I look like an A-hole, as I did in review number 1. /sweating intensifies Damage Inflicted and Taken: This was a very interesting and balanced read. All characters played strongly to their abilities and did so marvelously, with each character taking what were in my opinion appropriate levels of damage based on what was happening to them, and even at one point getting disarmed, stunned, what-have you! Both parties did so well I honestly was taken aback. This is the level I hope to see more of from these reviews! Very marvelous work to all. My compliments! However, there was a winner here, no matter how close the score was and how it seemed to me that it would continue if possible. [******Tidus/Zest******] Skill and Style: Everyone was really giving it their all this thread, and I felt a surge of energy in me as I read this. It actually made me want to participate in one of these myself sometime! There were a lot of moments that helped both teams make what seemed to be their big moments, their munny moves if you will. Tidus had so much personality bursting from his posts, Paine did wonders by utilizing unique features, and they really showed their stuff by facing one another. I was very invested int hat fight! Maeve and Zest were no slouches either, with Maeve being particularly flavorful with both moves and reactions to others, even if it wasn't quite enough to get that dang ol' Warrior of Light this time! [******Tidus/Zest******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: This one is pretty difficult, honestly... I saw a lot of good sportsmanship form all sides and felt it was pretty clear to understand everything that was happening at almost every turn. It was a real display of good natured fun from all parties, keeping to their characters while also showing that not everything has to be a measuring contest. Overall, this one has to be a draw for me. I just can't decide which team did better here--they were really just too spectacular. [******Draw******] Raid Winner:

Damage Inflicted and Taken:
So, I have to say, I throughly enjoyed reading this thread because of the ambient usage of protective magic, buffs & debuffs, something I'm surprised isn't more commonly utilized across the board - I digress. So, from a brutally honest standpoint, the fact that Paine effectively surrendered at the very end, knowing that Maeve had been defeated and that she had no feasible way of winning a two vs one against Tidus and Zest made the deciding factor of this one easy. None the less, I appreciate as one of the Site's moderators the degree of fairness I felt was displayed by both parties.
[******Tidus & Zest******] Skill and Style: I personally enjoyed the fact that each of the combatants had a dynamically different fighting style and personal ethos. I will say that in terms of style, Paine and Maeve, made some very powerful statements between their usages of rather unorthodox means - i.e. Flametounge meeting Aqua Blade, which was a pleasant application of realism in a world of magick and monsters. I must say that Paine' usage of the dress-sphere was also quite interesting, it gave her a sense of versatility that gave him the periodic edge. Also, I must saw Maeves' berserker-style made me laugh because it reminds me of Dieter.
[******Maeve&Paine******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship:
So first and foremost, I'll address the Sportsmanship aspect, I must say that I was pleased with the fact that Maeve ended up KO'ing her own character, I think during a tournament-style battle, it is especially hard for us to concede defeat. Paine, I also admire the fact that as previously mentioned, when she saw Maeve had been defeated, she realized that she wasn't capable of fending off both Tidus and Zest and securing her victory, so true to Paine's realism, she conceded defeat. I will say that Tidus' descriptive writing definitely pleased me immensely, especially when he described how his movements during some of the dodges failed, this also resulted in him getting clipped by a bullet or two. With that said, I have to say that across the board, I feel both sides deserved victory in this category.

Damage Inflicted and Taken: -scratches head- Honestly, this fight felt really balanced and the usage of abilities, strategy, etc... made it really a great match. I have no words for this. In terms of inflicting and taking damage. The flow of battle went really well and stood in the favor of one side. That coupled with the ending... Still, both sides did fantastic! [******Tidus/Zest******] Skill and Style: All parties get style points, lol. As I already indicated, the fight made full use of abilities, strategy, and really gave an idea how the characters played in this fight. Their fighting styles and each really gave a presence in the fight. They each had their own style and showed it clearly. [******Draw******] Descriptive Writing and Sportsmanship: ... At this point I don’t really know anymore what to add. In fairness, sportsmanship, writing style, and everything this all was fair on both sides. Also the thoughts for Paine and... well... I’m just terrible with words in general. I’m sorry... ._.;; You all are great! [******Draw******] Raid Winner: ***** Tidus & Zest ******
