The early morning sunlight had just begun to peer around the ruins of Maleficent's castle. A lion was stirring this morning, walking through the streets before the hustle and bustle of the day had begun. Leon didn't want to make a big deal out of this, but he needed to leave. Peace had been prevailed in Radiant Garden, and there was plenty of hope on the horizon for the people of the rebuilding world.
Very few faces were seen among the stone walls, but the ones who were around had done little but nod or smile in Squall's direction. He was heading for the edge of town, where he would take a Gummy Ship and head back to his home world, his true home world. The Garden was his home, well before the busy streets of Hollow Bastion or the sleepy Traverse Town. With a small draw string back tied over his shoulder, Squall continued his way past Merlin's house, where Cid was likely still pounding away at a computer.
...They'll be fine.
For years, Leon had been seen as a figurehead in Radiant Garden, but he didn't choose that role. Rather, the people here had chosen him for that role. It had been long enough, they were well into the rebuilding phase, and Sora was more likely to be of help to them. Cloud was still around as well, so there were others they could turn to. He truly believed they no longer needed him. All that was left was for him to finish his trek through Radiant Garden.
There was so much he missed, but there was nothing he missed more than her. She who had written him that letter was she who had called the lion out to return to his pride.

Rina had woken up to the sun shining brightly into her eyes. Her bedroom curtains had been left open and the sun had found its way in. As she stirred herself awake she noticed that the sun was just coming up. It was early, and she still had time to sleep if she so wanted to.
She wanted to, but she knew she wouldn’t be able to. Waltz was gone. Her time with Maleficent, over. And now she had found the courage to come home and try to live again. Try to pick up the pieces and move on to a happier place. Yet, the nightmares still seemed to plague her. In the few days she had been back home she had stayed up late cleaning the dust and cobwebs that had gathered in her absence, staving off the horrors that would attack as soon as her eyes would shut. She would go to bed exhausted just to wake up at the crack of dawn with little or no sleep had. It didn’t matter what she did…the nightmares still persisted. Rina didn’t know what to do.
With an aggravated sigh, Rina kicked the covers off of her and pushed her way out of bed. Might as well start the day. A short time later she was showered and dressed. Rina made her way downstairs to the kitchen to fix some coffee. The coffee maker was all ready to go, but she was lacking the most important thing. The coffee itself. Rina desperately needed to go to the market to stock up on the essentials, but she just didn’t feel like it. Maybe the café was open. They would have coffee there and perhaps she would be able to get some breakfast too.
Rina grabbed her leather jacket off of the coat rack and walked out the door. She began to walk towards the marketplace, attempting to wrestle her jacket on as well. Her arm had somehow gotten stuck and as she was fighting with the material she was completely oblivious to the fact that there was someone walking towards her… until she ran right into him.
Rina ended up knocked to the ground, her backside aching from the impact. “Ouch! Where did you come from?” Rina looked up to see a handsome, but sad looking man standing in front of him. She recognized him a little. He was the man who had helped rebuild Radiant Garden. I think his name is Leon?
She shook her head and made her way back to her feet, finally getting her arm to go through her jacket sleeve. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t really paying attention, was I?”

Leon was rounding the corner on his way to the marketplace area when it happened. He'd just barely had enough time to drop the long drawstring bag he was carrying. Squall dropped the bag and reached out to grab the woman as she nearly ran headfirst right into him. ...Is she alright? He gave her a quick once over, realizing that she look kind of familiar. He chalked it up to the idea that he'd probably just seen her around town before.
She asked where he had come from. Where else would he had come from but right in front of her? If she was paying attention she would know where I came from.
"...Right in front of you."
The woman then apologized and stated that she wasn't paying attention. ...That's obvious. He noticed the jacket half hanging off of her and realized she must have been fighting to split her attention with that and ran right into him.
"You should be more careful. Someone could have been hurt."
He released her almost as quickly as he'd reacted to her carelessness. Squall placed his hand upon his forehead, moving the hair from his eyes as he did. He wouldn't stay here long, just long enough to make sure she was okay before he left Radiant Garden. What was she doing out here so early and in such a rush at that? It wasn't his business so he simply waited quietly for her response.

Since coming back after his fight with Sephiroth, Cloud has done nothing except try to find Aerith. He had to fulfill his promise and let her know that he was back. He had hoped to see her sooner rather than later but that just wasn’t in the cards for Cloud in any way, shape, or form…at least not right now anyway. Cloud had been walking about with The First Tsurugi strapped to his back sheath. He didn’t have his other attachments with him but he didn’t feel like he would need them today. Cloud was doing his best to curb his paranoia. Sephiroth was alive and Cloud was usually restless knowing that he was out and about. Sephiroth wasn’t killed when they fought so Cloud felt he had every right to suspect that Sephiroth would appear and wreck havoc at any place and any time. However, Cloud was trying to do his best to remember how to have a normal day. His strolling about brought himself to the wizard’s house, Cloud forgot his name. Cloud thought to let the others know that he was back but Cloud wanted to find his way back home first. He would find a way and surprise his friends so that they could go home.
Cloud was tired. He was tired of fighting, he was tired of saving worlds and universes, and fighting for gods, goddesses, and mystic entities. He had one more fight against Sephiroth but that was it. He was the only thing standing in the way between Cloud and being able to put his weapons away and let them collect dust. The sooner he could strike down Sephiroth and find a way back home, the sooner he could bring his friends back home, so that Cloud could finally rest. Cloud would stave off from checking in the house and go on about his business. He found himself walking through the marketplace, when he saw a woman conversing with Leon, or Squall or whatever name he was calling himself at the time. The wolf and the lion have a bit of history, one that stems beyond Radiant Garden. They were comrades-in-arms, fighting for Cosmos and Materia after her. Cloud wasn’t sure how much about those wars that Leon remembered. Cloud never talked about them to him or even asked him if he remembered anything at all. There were bigger things to worry about anyway so Cloud never paid it no mind.
Cloud walked over, letting his boots echo throughout the marketplace. He stopped once he reached Leon and the woman that he had bumped into. Cloud did notice the bag that he was carrying. He wondered if Squall was on his way out too. That wouldn’t be good. They couldn’t both leave; Leon was more involved here than Cloud was. He was more connected to everything; he was practically ruler of Radiant Garden, what was making him leave?
“You wanna leave but you can’t even see where you’re goin’?", Cloud said to Leon with a smirk on his face. He then turned to the woman that he bumped into. “Sorry, he probably used bumping into as an excuse to stay. He figured if that happens then maybe he should take “a day or two” to think it over.”, Cloud said, looking back to Leon. Cloud always engaged in banter with people like Leon, but in this, he might be able to reveal Leon’s purpose for leaving, if he even is at all.

At Leon’s admonishing tone, Rina couldn’t hold back the annoyance that was sure on her face. Maybe she was a bit out of line because she was already in a bad mood, but her immediate thought of the man in front of her was that he was a bit of a jerk. She hadn’t run into him on purpose, but he was acting like she was a child who was running around with no supervision. Maybe he was in a bad mood too. Rina was just about to open her mouth to out the man in his place, when she was interrupted by yet another handsome, but sad looking man. She recognized him too. The blonde, spikey haired one. She had seen him a few times before. He must have been friends with Leon and the rest of the Restoration Crew. She listened to him speak and was surprised to hear that he thought that Leon was heading out of town. Rina turned her face back towards the brunette, her lips drawn into a frown. “You’re leaving?” She looked Leon over and she now saw the bag sitting on the ground. He was leaving! “Like leaving permanently? Aren’t you like… the leader of all of us? You sure seem to be whenever I see you and everyone else rebuilding.” To be honest, Rina wasn’t entirely sure about the government system of this world anymore. She had come and gone so many times and she had also chosen to keep mostly to herself. The only people she interacted with on a regular basis were the people in the marketplace. She had no friends on this world. Not anymore. But if he was their leader, he didn’t need to be secretly leaving like this.

Leon should have left even earlier. First, this woman had bumped into him. Sure, she seemed kind of familiar, but he didn't really know her. She seemed to recognize him, but it was probably for the same reason, Leon's role with the Restoration Committee. Leon hadn't asked for that role, but Aerith, Yuffie, and Cid all kind of put him in that role.
The second reason why Leon should have left earlier was the source of the faint heavy footfalls he'd heard right before he heard that familiar voice of Radiant Garden's blonde swordsman. Cloud approached and made a comment about Squall seeking to leave, but not even being able to see the woman in front of him. If he'd really been paying attention, he'd have seen that Leon caught her, but he wasn't about to bring it up. Rather than that, he went with his classic response.
"...whatever."
This triggered something in the woman. She immediately began asking questions about Squall leaving. ...Its not like I asked for them to put me in that role. He let her finish, with his palm still on his face, before he thought out a response.
"Everyone will be fine. Cloud and Sora are still around, and they have Yuffie, Aerith, Cid, and Merlin."
He now lowered his hand and looked at the woman. Her facial features somewhat resembled hers, but it clearly wasn't. Seeing that made Squall even more anxious to leave. He needed to find her, that was most important to him right now. Radiant Garden was in a time of peace. They didn't need him, right?
"I have something I have to do. Cloud, people will be fine with you here. If something happens, Sora will most likely be here too. I have to go home."
At least, he hoped they didn't need him.

Cloud raised an eyebrow at Squall over the female’s evident surprise over the fact that Leon was leaving. Cloud wondered where he was going and why. How was he even going to get to where he was going? As far as Cloud knew, one couldn’t leave without a gummi ship or through some random portal, which is how Cloud had been traveling. That was how he ended up fighting Sephiroth in a different place. Cloud didn’t even notice that he wasn’t in Radiant Garden when Sephiroth disappeared. Cloud crossed his arms over his chest, somewhat eager to hear what Squall had to say for himself. Cloud chuckled when the woman that bumped into Squall asked if he was the leader and why he would leave if he was leading everything. She was right; Leon was always there. He was part of some restoration committee type of thing. Cloud found a membership card by his bike one day with his name on it. He just stuffed it in his back pocket and moved on about his day. Cloud was never there for any of the repairs. He was too busy trying to figure out how to finally find and put down Sephiroth and go home.
Squall’s reply was met with a furrowed brow from Cloud. Everyone will be fine because Cloud and Sora were around? Cloud couldn’t help but roll his eyes. This man literally just put his job in Cloud’s and Sora’s hands, as if Cloud didn’t have better things to do than to babysit a city that Leon himself had decided to rebuild and restore. Cloud shook his head in response. He was not here to clean up and fix Squall’s problems. He was not Squall’s daddy or his mother. Why was he acting like he was the only one that had to go home? Why was he acting like he was the only one that was tired of everything having to do with the Heartless and the Nobodies and the guys in the black hoods? Cloud walked forward from behind Squall and turned to face him face to face; man to man. Cloud looked Squall dead into his eyes when he spoke, making sure that Squall knows that he was not trying to antagonize him or patronize him. Cloud wanted to let Squall know that Cloud was speaking to him as a fellow warrior.
“Really? You’re kidding right? You have to go home? And what, I don’t need to go home? The others don’t need to go home? Why are you acting like you’re the only one that’s tired? Going home is nice and all but you deciding to just leave in the middle of rebuilding this place is kinda weak, don’t you think?”, Cloud said, refusing to mince words with Squall, but reassuring him, in his voice, that he is only trying to be honest with him and not attack him.

A curious place, possessing its own wonders and intrigues that would further build its character, it’s individuality that set it apart from the other worlds. Something about this locale, this hollowed bastion around which a small village had been constructed, allowed it to hold a rather rustic charm about its appeal. Not a place to lay down roots by any means, yet the abundance of secrets that doubtlessly rested among the soils might hold interest. This world, and its people apparently, still carried scars of a tumultuous past. Everywhere one looked there was a testament to suffering of some sort, some variety. Perhaps whatever happened to this town left most less than openly trusting, as the conversation that sparked not far from a wall where she found herself perched, seemed to carry itself with such a suspicion at its heart.
An apparent leader of sorts, confronted by whom appeared to be a local peddler, and a less than approving comrade of the first, over the former’s intentions of departing. The girl held genuine concern, as much as the blond held an open opposition to the idea. Why, whatever could be so important this head of command would leave? More intriguing to Morrigan, was why is it so important to the others that he stay? Fear of an impending potential conflict only this man with visible scars could help defend? Was this man’s leadership so heavily depended upon that hope was significantly dashed with his absence? Not that Morrigan desired to put this town under her boot, yet were one to attempt such a coup, perhaps this head of command was of among the first in need of removal. He was certainly a figure to worth taking notice of, and he had certainly gotten her attention. T’was his would be companions that were taken note of just as well, each sticking out like sore thumbs among the small groups of the common passerby. Enough people for such an event to form a bit of an audience back home, yet it would seem such a conversation in the street did not warrant much attention. Those that ignored the confrontation were watched curiously as they passed.
Though it was the blond’s newfound tone of accusation that once more snared the witch’s curiosity. Oh? How was the broody leader to react to such harshness from his friend? Subordinate? Amusing that such delightful drama out in the open, for all to see, was not drawing a crowd. Simply so delicious, Morrigan could lap up the blond’s words as they would almost voice precisely what she had been wondering. Though was it any way to speak to the man whom probably decided everything about the other’s daily routine? Such manners. Acted as though he were entitled to such bold claims, as though he carried the burden of doing all the work himself. There was probably a temper underneath that cool façade. Were there truth to such a thought, the very idea of setting off that anger, that darkness, might provide for some delightful entertainment.
”Always climbing but only ever descending. The canvas before him is never ending. So call for the crossroads if you're lost in the woods. If he drops this torch then he’ll be gone for good.”
Morrigan would smile confidently down upon the group from upon the wall. A moment to look for the source of the words, before her forms was seemingly blown away by the wind, turning to smoke that would appear to vanish. ”As curious as it is- the disparaging soldier speaks wisdom,” she chimed, having reappeared on a rooftop across the street from the wall. ”Rumors of impending war reaching the people’s ears already have them on edge. Imagine how they’ll take the news of their commander leaving before the danger arrives.” Morrigan would give Squall a confident smirk from her perch, biting her lower lip at the sight of those cold blue eyes. How inviting was the chill she felt at these shades of ice. Whatever the reasons for his departure, she respected the decision. The need, the desire, to put one’s own priorities ahead of others; a greater good doubtlessly buried beneath misunderstood intentions. How she would love to chip away that frigid exterior, to understand what drove such a rogue. It didn’t go without saying, being the leader, he doubtlessly had an awareness of what in this world Morrigan might be after. It was anyone’s guess.

Rina felt a penchant of anxiety start to rise inside of her. The girl’s dark blue eyes darted from one man to the next like she was watching a game of tennis. Leon seemed quite eager to get moving to wherever it was that he was headed towards. Rina’s questioning of him leaving wasn’t meant to break out into an argument. She was just shocked. That was all. He had put so much into this world and he was just going to leave it? It seemed such a waste… Rina’s darting eyes widen slightly as Cloud berated Leon with harsh truths. Part of her hoped this wouldn’t spark a fight between the Lion and the Wolf. She didn’t want to be in the area if that were ever to happen. She decided to calmly edge her way between the two men almost holding her arms up between them. She realized then how much shorter she was than them and how she would be useless to pull them apart. Rina sighed.
“Hey guys. How bout we go get some coffee? I’ll buy and then we can all talk about this.” This honestly wasn’t any of Rina’s business or Cloud’s… but she was nosy. She had gotten herself into the middle of this, so she might as well stick it out. Why would Leon just want to leave? She dropped her hands. “How does that s-“ That’s when Rina heard someone talking over her, making her stop mid-sentence. Rina heard a soft and sultry voice speaking to the three of them. Rina’s eyes glanced towards the wafting voice, seeing only a blur of dark before a woman dressed in head to toe black appeared above them on a rooftop. She seemed to be speaking in riddles that Rina couldn’t comprehend and the smile she shot towards them made her feel so very uneasy. Rina didn’t like it one bit. The young woman stepped away from Cloud and Leon, summoning her daggers and getting into a defensive position. Her appearance and taunting words not only made Rina wary, but for some reason it really grated her nerves. Perhaps it was because she was running on nearly no sleep or the perpetual bad mood that seemed to have enveloped her of late… but Rina had become very aggravated in the last 10 seconds.
“Hey! This was a private conversation! I don’t remember asking for your input!”

Cloud hadn't seemed to like Leon's decision to leave. Who was he to decide who leaves and who goes? He's always doing the same damn thing himself anyway! Anger spilled over the lion in the moment, and he was nearly ready to swing at the 'ex-SOLDIER'. It wasn't like he was leaving permanently. The Balamb mercenary had planned on returning as soon as he found Rinoa, hopefully with her accompanying him. Squall threw his arms down to his sides in frustration, separating his feet and bending his knees as he did so. He wasn't really going to fly off the handle, but he would excitedly argue his point with the blonde hero.
"You're one to talk. You're never here long and you always disappear. Rinoa needs me. I will be back after I find her.
Leon wasn't sure if Cloud remembered everything from their time fighting for Cosmos and Materia. If he had, then he'd surely remember Rinoa, as she was called into action under Materia in the final war. Rinoa had a way of making an impression on people, and he was pretty sure that he wouldn't forget her if he remembered the war as a whole. There was also a good chance Cloud would remember how much she meant to Leon.
After he had a chance to argue his point, the young brunette had stepped in between them. She had obviously sensed the tension that would arise from Cloud's point of view. She was very much correct in her assumption. Leon had fought alongside Cloud in the past, and he knew full well what a battle between the two would do to the now peaceful world of Radiant Garden. These two would tear this town to the point of evisceration if they were to fight seriously. He knew full well what Cloud was capable of, and he knew that he had junctioned Ifrit to himself today. That meant that he had a powerful Guardian Force he could summon, and it was enough to engulf the entire plaza in flames. Therefore, Squall knew that she had made the right move to step between them to try to diffuse the situation.
As she was speaking, another presence came known. She came from above and also seemed to notice that Leon was leaving Radiant Garden. She also made a couple confusing statements, talking about him leaving with war on the horizon. War? What war? Things have been peaceful since the Organization was defeated. The brunette armed herself next to Squall, proving that he wasn't the only one that had the feeling that she was an enemy. Why attack Radiant Garden when there are so many here to defend it? That's kind of stupid.
Squall dropped the draw string bag behind himself and unsheathed his gunblade, pointing himself toward the newcomer. If Radiant Garden were to be attacked, then he would defend it. But this would be the last time for awhile. Rinoa needed him, and he'd be damned if he let whoever this woman was stand in his way.
"I don't know where you've been, but there's no war here. Organization XIII has already been defeated."
Sora had sought to that while Leon still worked diligently to rebuilt Radiant Garden to its former glory. There had been peace here since then, and it was likely that it would stay that way for some time.

Cloud could understand why Squall would want to go home; anyone that was fighting this fight could understand why anyone would want to go home. The thing is, they couldn’t as long as this fight was still going on. Cloud’s words came from a place of truth and honesty and not to be combative but he knew that with Squall and given the dynamic between the two, it might not have been the best way to go about this issue, and Squall’s clapback proved Cloud’s point. Cloud was well aware of his own coming and going due to the fact that Cloud is trying to pack up himself and head home with his friends. The only difference was that Cloud had no roots here. He hadn’t settled here like Squall had, he hadn’t made it this fight his mission like Squall had so there was no need for him to stay here. Cloud only helped them because he was in the neighborhood and because it was the right thing to do. If Cosmos hadn’t dropped him in this universe, he wouldn’t have ever known about this war between the light and the darkness…but then that begs the question in Cloud’s mind: Wouldn’t he still have known about it if Cosmos sent him straight home in light of him having been able to go back to the Planet? Cloud was lost in thought, partially ignoring the bite of the Lion so that he could let whatever quip he had to say go over his head so he wouldn’t bite back out of but when he heard the word Rinoa, Cloud’s mind came back to the conversation immediately.
“I’m not a leader, though…not like you, not these days. I remember her...and I understand.”, Cloud said, revealing to Squall that he remembers being a Warrior of Cosmos and Materia. “Listen, Squall, do you really think that leaving this place for one person is wise? If you do this, you will…”, Cloud was cut off by the woman that Squall bumped into, having come in between them, thinking that they were going to fight.
Of course, Cloud wouldn’t let himself and Squall fight, the town would be leveled. Besides, Cloud had no reason to fight Squall. He was only trying to get Squall to see reason. A leader cannot leave his/her post ever. Cloud would have been more inclined to let Squall leave if Squall knew where she was but Cloud wasn’t sure if Squall knew for sure or not. It was then that a woman appeared and as Cloud expected, she spoke nonsense. Cloud rolled her eyes at the sight of her, trying to worm her way into the conversation. The woman in between Cloud and Squall didn’t take too kindly to her butting in and neither did Squall. Cloud turned to the woman that refused to mind her business with a smirk, in light of the defeat of the Organization. It would appear that Sora succeeded, but did he sacrifice his heart, due to him falling to darkness having seen him look like a Heartless?
“Well, it doesn’t look like you’re wanted here. Buzz off and we can forget that you poked your nose in where it didn’t belong.”

Morrigan wondered which of the three would be the first to speak up. The girl would fill that role, demonstrating much to the witch in a hot tempered display, calling out a pair of sai and defiance all in a threatening show. As if there were any need for such a childish fit. If it was meant to intimidate Morrigan, it was a ploy that failed miserably. The dark attired witch would only smile as the little courier took her stance, chuckling as she declared this a private conversation. Taking in the surroundings, the passing people, Cloud’s volume, why yes- quite private indeed. The witch looked her over momentarily; observing the way she stood, the way her daggers were held, and the matter of fatigue she was with doubtlessly overcome. This one was certainly keen on finding out, and keeping whatever secrets this leader held to herself. What a nosy little brat.
Morrigan let the ill-tempered rogue have her moment, before she began clicking her tongue in cheek, shaking her head in disappointment at the display. ”My my, such anger. You’d think I killed your beloved with the way you look at me.” The underlying conflicts spoke wonders on the girl’s face, Morrigan finding the crumbling of the rogue’s cheery resolve almost enjoyable. That was until Squall drew his own sword, and the other man made it clear she wasn’t wanted here. Such manners indeed. Were they raised in a sty? So stubborn. So clueless. ”Resorting to violence. And here I thought you were civilized.” A smug smile before Morrigan shrugged, then nonchalantly gestured to the two warriors accompanying the defiant one. Squall said his peace about the war. Evidently enough by the lack of screams, and buildings burning it had yet to reach this quaint little world. ”‘Tis the calm before the storm, this. It unnerves and shall shaken one’s fortitude if they are not careful. The fallible and unconstitutionally sound may go mad as their patience crumbles, withering in weakness, coddled by cowardice.” Her eyes would then draw upon Squall, a smile of confidence would follow. A musing hum filled her throat, lips curving further unto an apparent deviousness.
”The desire to return is strong is it not?” Morrigan cocked her head to the side curiously, examining Leonhart while giving him a moment to consider the question. ”To see their faces, to hear their voices once again. To hold her in your arms another moment more? What are you willing to give up in exchange for that I wonder?” The witch’s confident gaze would wade from Leon to Cloud at the conclusion of such a statement, then to Rina, and eventually back to Squall. The way this trio carried themselves, the stoic masks they tried to guise behind, there was an underlying failure- a buried guilt within each of those hearts. Each of them had let someone down on their road to get here. That guilt, that anger, Morrigan wondered if it ate away at them on the inside. The shadow called to all three of those miserable, tired souls. How easy would it be for her to help them truly unlock that power? To shed away suffering for acceptance? What could she gain from continuing to observe such callous candidates?
”Yet consider this. Each of you, like this world…as with so many others- are threatened by an enemy you scarcely understand…and apparently, remain unaware exists. Those of whom toy with forces, that I would wager, you are also in the dark about.”
The witch would push herself off the edge of the rooftop, the momentum of her fall almost ceasing to a halt just before her boots would gracefully touch the ground. With a confident stride she would begin to approach the group, pausing as she came closer to the girl. Morrigan would eye her head to toe, giving a her confident smirk before she focused on the boys. She had let them say their peace, yet hardly batted an eye at their standoffish behavior. Was it necessary in her opinion? No, not by any means. Though they were expecting a fight, these would be defenders of the town. Both men seemed to have lack a desire to be here. The title of unwilling hero seemed to be slapped across their zipper lined, ebony outfits, with moody, brooding expressions that just shouted “What a great day we’re having!” Unquestionably it was easy to see why these chums were picked to be in charge. Morrigan could tell they were having a delight with the job. After all, look at how functionally sound this little town appeared. Look how tired and disheveled everyone seemed to be carrying themselves. No wonder the guy with the scar wanted to go home.
”What to do then?” she mused in a playful, demeaning tone. Strafing about them slowly, like some jungle cat stalking its prey, she made a creeping, unceremoniously close, half circle around the former SeeD and faux SOLDIER. The pair had an unusual way about each of them, both doubtlessly projecting walls to hide whatever demons they kept within. Demons she’d someday like to let out of their cages. Nothing spoke more about a person, whom they truly were, like the unhindered, primordial creature that lurked within; The darkness of the heart. ”He wastes time building castles in the air. If there's peace to be found, he won't find it there. His fear still sees, when his eyes are closed. But the blames on him, this is the path he chose.” Her eyes remained focused on Squall, the immediate deciding factor in how this might play out. ”Though where does he go from here? To leave- return home, abandon his unfortunate friends to face the coming threat alone? Or do as they beckon, stay here, and continue to break another promise in the process? Ah decisions, decisions…” The witch would pause, then muse to the sky as though in thought, her gaze of amber-gold eventually wandering back to the retired SeeD. ”May it be known though- should he choose the latter, he may learn of a proposition that may aid in this kingdom’s salvation. ‘Tis your decision, after all. One that will be awaited eagerly by the water. I, however, shan’t drop to my knees and beg. Do as you please.” With a curtsy and bow of the head, Morrigan would vanish into obsidian smoke again. Her destination brought her just down the street, outside of a weathered old house where an old man in a blue robe and hat watered his plants. Decisions such as the one Squall weighed upon his shoulders now, would doubtlessly take more than a moment. He did after all seem to be the more thoughtful of such a curious group. Seizing a book that had been left upon the edge of the nearby fountain, Morrigan took a seat on the stone as she began to curiously, yet absently read the first chapter to bide the time. Rina’s eyes narrowed as the woman in black continued to speak in riddles. The more she spoke the more agitated Rina became. She was just toying with them! Playing some sick mind game! The witch’s rhetoric seemed to wind down and with an aggravated growl Rina threw her dagger at the woman’s feet. “Will you just go?!” Rina didn’t have to ask twice. Almost with politeness the woman curtseyed and went away.
Rina took a few steps to collect her weapon and turned back to face the two men that were with her. “What the hell was that? Who the hell was that?! I’ve never seen that woman before, have you?! And what was she talking about? Aiding our salvation? Is she planning to attack us?” Rina took a deep breath, trying to wrap her mind around the encounter.
“I have a bad feeling about this.”
