Personality:
Akemi has always been the type with a massive heart and always puts other’s needs before his own, regardless of what the task may be. While placing other’s before himself, the boy is selfless most of the time. Lately, Akemi has been developing a timid nature due to the events that took place recently in his life. Being thrown into a new setting and having his life turned up-side-down has caused his whole outlook on life to completely change. When faced with new trials and new settings, it takes him a bit longer to adapt to his surrounds compared to most people. However, Akemi isn’t timid around friends. When around people who are friendly or just in an atmosphere that feels welcoming, he can truly be himself.
Akemi loves the arts but mainly enjoys music. Over the years, he has taught himself to play the violin. From simple melodies to works of art, Akemi was blessed with a god given gift to entertain with his music. Another passion that Akemi has is nature but more towards flowers than anything else. His favorite flowers are star gazers lilies which grew in the forests outside of his home. Just being around animals, resting under trees, or just being around flowers can brighten his day up in a flash. Normally the animals within the thick woods usually gather around Akemi when he plays his violin or when he relaxes in the grassy floor. Unlike most males, he is in touch with his feminine side and isn’t afraid to show it from time to time. He has a sense of fashion and loves bright colors. If he had the chance and the money back in his world, he would have opened either a clothing store or a flower shop. This is the reason why he grew his hair out and treasures it because he wanted to be different from the other males. He just adores his glorious, crimson locks from the feel of it to the shades of red. But because of this, most people call him weird, a freak, or just be plain rude and mean to him. With their ignorance and one track mind to life, Akemi is constantly bashed from his people.
Akemi couldn’t hold grudges even if his life depended on it. They would have to do something truly unforgivable to phase the boy. The only reason Akemi is shy most of the time is because of the all of problems he had throughout life though he is trying his best to get out of it. However, just because he is shy and timid doesn’t mean he won’t get anger. When faced by someone who is rude and uptight, Akemi will backlash put them in their place. No matter who you are, where you’re from, or what social status you may have, everyone should be treated equally and not downed all because of something they can’t control or have. Akemi also has a sassy side for short period of time but only shows it around friends or does it to goof off.
For as long as he could remember, Akemi always had this voice in his head. It would always cause self-doubt in him or what he was doing. It always said negative things about him and even today it still is there. His parents told him it was just his own negative feelings about himself and would go away in time but he knew it was something else. What kind of voice, that would constantly bash him, have a name for itself? The voice would call itself Kuro. Normally it would be just a voice but ever since that night his world vanished and he blacked out, the voice began to develop a personality and sometimes it would take over Akemi.
Kuro is a mean and cruel person. He taunts and abuses people both mentally and physically. He thinks he is a god and refers to everyone as mortals regardless if they are or not. When he gets serious everything becomes worse, the taunts and talking down of his prey increases almost tenfold. He despises all things that are righteous and enjoys chaos and turmoil. Most of the time Kuro is dormant however, there are times were he whispers words of doubt and worry in his mind. He calls Akemi weak, useless, and a dead weight that no one cares about. Also there are times were Kuro will try to take over his body when Akemi is under stress or in a vulnerable state. In times of need, Kuro will take over his body or tell him what to do if Akemi is on the verge of losing his life, after all if the host dies so does he and Kuro wouldn’t like that. There are times were Akemi and Kuro can meet eye-to-eye, though they are very few times when this happens. Such as when facing an opponent and getting annoyed by their actions or personality. However, these moments are rare and Kuro doesn’t like it when they think alike. Like Akemi, he enjoys flowers mainly roses. They are a thing of pure beauty and death. Kuro enjoys the arts as well but only the Victorian era work. The symbolism and meanings behind the masterpieces are what make him enjoy that era's work. Art today is too bland and lacks the passion like the older days.
History:
Halure, a world filled with wonderful landscapes and many civilizations. From the rich forests to the icy tundra, this world had it all. Though it seemed peaceful, a war was being fought. Two of the world’s powers were fighting to conquer the other. Swords were drawn, arrows were fired, and blood was shed. It was truly a horrific scene. The leader of the Grand Capital of Novos was losing to the Kingdom of Oblivia. He refused to lose this war and decided to turn the tides.
The Leader decided to use an ancient and forbidden magic that was supposed to be lost to the world. By cutting the tip of his finger and writing an incantation on his blade, the symbols floated off of the weapon and danced in the air. They jolted into the sky as a massive dragon appeared within a cluster of storm clouds. It was a long, golden dragon with red eyes and massive wings and claws; truly a monstrous creature. The leader of Novos asked the creature to destroy his enemy. As asked, it completely wiped out the whole Oblivia army. Novos had won and was top power once again. All that was left now was to dismiss the dragon.
Taking the blade to the river a few minutes away from the battlefield, the Novos leader tried to wash off the blood but it was too late. The symbols were infused into the blade meaning that the dragon couldn’t be dismissed. The dragon appeared before the leader with a horrible curse. In one hundred years, a boy will be born. He will be the scion of his power and will destroy their empire as price for destroying the Oblivia. It vanished into the clouds and that was the legend.
One hundred years later, a boy was born within the lower quarters of The Grand Capital of Novos. Amber, the mother, and Yuri, the father, were filled with joy to finally have their first child together. However, Amber noticed a mark on the child. The two were both in shock for the boy bare the mark of the Dragon Deity. Knowing the fate of the child’s future, they were afraid of what might happen to their beloved son if the empire would to discover him. However, in their minds, they thought that if they could raise him and teach him right from wrong then maybe, the legend wouldn’t come true. So his family named him Akemi, Beauty of the Dawn.
Novos was now a horrible kingdom. The poor people were treated as if they were enslaved and the rich lived the good life. However, the kingdom was far more hostile than ever since it had been one hundred years since the dragon placed a curse upon land. Whenever there was a new born child brought into this world, the guard would have to inspect said baby of any marks or signs of the Scion. Since Akemi was born with the mark of the dragon upon his neck, the parents had to hide it somehow. They took some mud and other things they could find to make a black paste. The used this paste to cover the mark and bandaged it. When the guards came to inspect the baby, they told them the baby was ill and had a disease. For when they looked under the bandage to see the paste, they were instantly fooled and disgusted. They didn’t want to catch something like that from a poor, worthless peasants in the lower quarter. Giving them back the baby and cursing under their breath, everything was safe for now.
As he grew older, the boy looked and acted like a normal child. Nothing was different about him besides from the mark on his neck. Akemi, however, was taught to never reveal his mark and to keep it hidden with the way they made when he was born. He was an honest and good child to his parents. The boy did as he was told but had trouble fitting in with others around him. The other children made fun of him because of his so called ‘disease’ and didn’t really talk much him besides the teasing and name calling. Due to this, he stayed in the forest most of the day. The many woodland creatures befriended him due to his kind heart and pure intentions. Akemi played with them hours on hours of each day and soon developed a love and respect for nature. Everything was amazing.
As the year went by the boy grew taller and smarter as most children do. He learned to play the violin in his spare time like his father along with the basic things like reading, writing, and other fields of knowledge. However, he began to develop a voice in his head. It would whisper to him at any time, making his life harder since it would tease him and cause him to doubt himself. His parents told him it was just the others that were making him feel bad and to just think positive as they will go away in time. But sadly, it didn’t. He was now 16 and wasn’t that different from everyone else. Akemi would cover his mark each, run errands for his parents while ignoring the comments of his being sickly, return to his studying, and just living his normal life. That was until he had the strangest dream one dark and stormy night. A massive golden figure appeared before him and told him it was his time. Akemi was confused. Time? Time for what? Just as fast as he appeared, he vanished. Soon, darkness began to engulf the area and two red eyes appeared in front of him. Within seconds it charged at him as Akemi covered his face with his arm in fear. Akemi sat up in bed as he began to pant rapidly.
Akemi was covered in sweat and his heart was racing. Was it all just a dream? He slowly got out of his bed and made his way to the bathroom. He splashed some cold water in his face as he thought back to the dream. What was all that about? It felt so real and as if it was something that he knew was going to happen. Just then, a jolt of pain rushed through his neck. It was a burning sensation that covered the side of his neck. The boy brushed his hair away from his neck and turned to the mirror. His eyes widened at the sight that he was seeing. The birthmark was glowing red and felt as if it was pulsating.
The sounds of a thunder filled the air while lightning danced and crashed to the ground below. How could there be a storm like that this time of year? Akemi walked and looked out of his window as he saw the lightning storm. This storm felt different from other storms for some reason. The wind was as cold as death and lightning as black as night; this was not like the other lightning storms. Soon, screams of terror filled the air as he saw townspeople rushing the streets. What the hell was going on?! Was there a fire or something much worse?! Akemi ran outside to get a better look and feel of the situation.
The screams grew louder as he got closer to the town square. Once he got there, he stood there in shock. People were getting attacked by these strange black monsters. Their bodies were short and fat with eyes that glowed in the night. They twitched and moved like someone being shocked while their antennas bounced on their heads. Some of the people were fighting back and trying to hold their own. Akemi picked up a sword and tried to help them. A creature appeared from the shadows behind him and slashed at his back. Akemi wasn’t fast enough to dodge. The town’s people ran to his aid but stopped. They backed up as they started to freak out. They saw his glowing birthmark on his neck and knew right away what he was.
They began to blame him for all of this. The storm, the monsters, everything on him because of the curse. Akemi tried to explain to them that it wasn’t him but they didn’t care. They all called him a freak, monster, and damned him for being alive. Akemi covered his ears as he tried to drown out the sound of them. In his mind, he was saying it’s not true his not a freak. The pulsating, burning feeling returned as it began to get stronger. The pain was so great, he couldn’t let alone breathe. The voice appeared within his mind just as he tried to calm down. It whispered words of pure hatred to Akemi about the townspeople and himself. Trying to shake the voice out his head, Akemi tried to think positive though that was really hard at the moment.
He looked up as he saw the monsters surrounding them slowly. Akemi told them to run away, it wasn’t safe. They basically told him to shut up and wouldn’t listen. The boy tried to stand up and take up his sword but he fell back to his knees. His eyes looked up as he shouted to run. It was too late, they attacked the people as they stood no chance. His eyes widen as he watched it all. Their bodies lied lifeless on the ground before him, a truly horrific scene. The monsters looked at Akemi now and twitched their way over to him. The pulsating pain increased as he held onto the mark, unable to move.
In his mind, the voice was telling him that he was going to die if he didn’t give in. Give in? Give into what? However he wasn’t going to die, he refused to. As they jumped and piled on top of him, Akemi let out a yell that was filled with fear and yet almost seemed monstrous. A cold wind soon swept across the square and swirled around the monsters. The creatures were thrown into the air as clusters of ice erupted around the boy. Akemi stood before the black monstrosities engulfed in an icy blue aura which blacked his figured. His eye were glowing brightly as the blue aura began to take the shape of a dragon.
Akemi let out a loud roar as the strange power quickly vanished before his form could change. His body fell to the ground as he was weak from the sudden surge of power. He fell into a deep sleep as the last thing he saw was the flames of his burning town. The storm began to cover the whole city within mere minutes. Above the capital, a massive orb of darkness appeared and began to swallow everything around it. The dark winds tore apart this world and pulled anything it could into its darkness, including Akemi as he was lifted off the ground and sent flying into the storm. That was the last time he would see Halure for now and thus began the next part of his life.

Darkness. That was the only thing that Akemi could see let alone feel. His body floated motionlessly in a sea of black that stretched out to as far as the eyes could see. What was he doing here? Why was he here? How did all of this happen? So many questions echoed in his mind like an empty cave. Everything that had happened was sort of a blur and hazy. His teal hues opened weakly, gazing upon the endless abyss. ”W-Where am I?” This wasn’t his world or was it? Placing a hand on his head, the flash backs began to appear almost like a puzzle pieces being throw around the room by a frustrated child. It was all out of order and none of it made sense. Shaking his head, he cleared him mind. ”I don’t have time for this…I need to find a way out of here…Well if there is a way.” He said aloud as he began to bring his body to an up-right position. It was strange, there were no ground or path to stand upon. It was as if he was falling but standing still if that made a lick of sense however it was quite fun to him. His clothing and hair were fluttering around gently as he hovered endless around.
In the distance, there was a small glimmer of what looked like light. Hope began to blossom within his heart, thinking he had found a way out of this place. Moving forward as if he was swimming, he whisked away toward the star. However, something didn’t feel right. It was as if a thousand eyes were all focused on him. The feeling made his hair stand up and sent shivers down his spine. Akemi’s head slowly turned around to see a horrific sight. A black mass was moving toward him. It was like a school of what looks like shadows of small children with yellow, beady eyes and antennas. What in the name of all that was holy was that thing?! Panicking, the boy moved as fast as he could to get to the light. ”Not good, not good, not good, not good!!!” He shouted to himself. With every second, the mass was getting closer and closer. He could feel it’s dark presence growing to the point as if it were going to swallow him whole if it got close enough.
However, luck was on his side this time. Akemi reached the light and could make out what looked like a cobblestone path that seemed to be down an alleyway. Almost as if he was diving, he launched himself forward into the exit portal. The tiny claws stretched out to grab his feet but thankfully the moment he left that place, the portal of darkness soon closed behind him. Akemi rolled as soon as he hit the stone street. With the help of a nearby street lamp, he slammed the back of his head right into it causing him to stop rolling. ”Not the most graceful of landings but I’ll take it…God my head…” He said to himself as he held the back of his now throbbing head. What where those things and why were they after him? ”…You’re such an idiot for not recognizing them…” Quickly lifting his head, his eyes scanned the area for the person who spoke to him. Tilting his head to the side, he noticed that no one was there. A dark presence soon filled the air as everything seemed to go dark and misty. He knew exactly what it was the moment he realized no one was around. ”Just stop it, you’re just nothing but a voice in my head. Negative feelings and nothing more. Just go away.” He said to himself but soon a menacing laugh rang in his ears. ”…Have it your way monster…” and with that, the voice and everything else vanished.
What did it mean by monster? His thinking stopped the moment the back of his head began to throb again. Pictures, or rather memories, of what happened back on his homeworld start to randomly wisp around. From the storm to the sound of dying people’s screams, it was all quite vivid. Holding his head tightly, he began to breathe heavily as the moments began to speed up. He remembered everything but in small bursts. It was as if someone hit fast forward in his mind. The chilling moments zipped back and forth. People begging for help, those yellow eyed monsters everywhere, and lastly that horrific roar at the end of it. As Akemi snapped out of it, he stumbled back a bit. ”N-No…No no no no no!! My home!! My family!!...Where…Where am I?! D-Did I hurt them?!” He franticly asked himself. He finally realized that it wasn’t a dream or rather a nightmare. He wasn’t in Halure anymore but somewhere new. He sat down against the wall of a nearby bar and hugged his knees, burying his face in them. His crimson locks moved to the right side of his head as he didn’t know what to do.
