How'd you find us?:
- Mother: Aura'Cann Sigilaem - Alive, 46
- Father: Castell Sigilaem - Alive, 48
- Uncle: Ankh Sigilaem - Alive, 53
These are traits that are intrinsic to Rynn's being, facets of his personality that are constant.
Cautious - Rynn barely ever wants to dive into something without having some manner of knowledge. He likes to analyze as much of a situation as he can to formulate the right sort of action. Avoiding unnecessary problems also comes under this trait. At its worst, Rynn's caution can result in a lack of action.
Caring - Rynn empathizes and sympathizes very well with others, and can gauge moods fairly easily. He does what he can to help the innocent and those he cares for. Rynn is not a fan of bullies and those that are needlessly cruel to others; such people are the most able to unearth Rynn's protective side. At its worst, Rynn's kindness can forsake his own safety for the safety of others and he can be awkwardly meddlesome at times.
Confident - Rynn knows himself better than anyone, it is hard to get under his skin by throwing insults or attacking him instead of those he cares for. Only in incredibly rare cases will Rynn be overly confident, and will otherwise playfully snark as a joke with friends.
Magically Connected Traits
When Rynn uses magic, certain dormant and near normally nonexistent personality traits start to become more apparent depending on which form of magic is used and how often.
Cheeky - Free like the wind, when Rynn uses this element of magic, a more whimsical and happy sort of playful side to him has a chance to emerge and affect his actions.
Passionate - Blazing like flames, when Rynn uses this element of magic, a more vibrant and go getter charismatic side to him has a chance to emerge and affect his actions.
Stern - Frigid like ice, when Rynn uses this element of magic, a more intimidating and standoffish cold side to him has a chance to emerge and affect his actions.
Hyperactive - Bouncing like lightning, when Rynn uses this element of magic, a more jumpy and actively energized side to him has a chance to emerge and affect his actions.
Determined - Stalwart like earth, when Rynn uses this element of magic, a more serious and goal driven side to him has a chance to emerge and affect his actions.
[Early Life]A few decades ago, darkness spread to two separate worlds and swallowed them whole simultaneously. Thankfully however, most people managed to survive and turn up elsewhere. These two worlds were home to vibrant natural magic, the beings that lived there had a deep connection to their magics in different ways. One world whose people could bend magic around them and the other that could project power from within.
A woman by the name of Aura'Caan Tanteon and her extended family hailed from the first world, a calm jack of all trades type of mage; one that did not see it viable to simply master one element or type of magic. She also exhibited mild traits related to the magic she manipulated. Castell Sigilaem and his family on the other hand hailed from the second world, he was notably charismatic and within himself held exceptional magic power; but could not manage to project anything beyond neutral non-elemental magics. He could augment his very being with magic, and perform better physically than most others because of this.
When both of their worlds were destroyed by the insidious infection of the Heartless; Aura'Caan and Castell emerged on another world with others from their homes, most notably Castell's brother Ankh; a famous enchanter and tailor. This group of people woke up in Twilight Town, one of the few worlds that rested between light and dark. Torn from their previous lives, these distraught and saddened people found themselves displaced... All except for one. Castell stepped forward and with his spirit and never give up attitude brought everyone together so that they could continue living in the name of what they had lost.
Aura'Caan, both surprised and intrigued by Castell's actions found herself smitten with the man. Unfortunately, Castell was largely oblivious to her advances up until she spelled it out for him, quite literally, in magic runes. Soon enough, the two would start dating and eventually marry; thereafter having their first child; Rynn.
Rynn Sigilaem, born on a new world by the connection of two separate worlds adopted mystical qualities from both of his parents, resulting in the child having a deeper connection to magic than many others. Aura'Caan and Castell loved their boy unconditionally, teaching him everything that they knew as he grew up.
While his parents were busy with work, Rynn spent a lot of his time with his uncle Ankh, who was older and a fair bit wiser than the other two. Where Aura'Caan and Castell instilled both confidence and caution and care for others within Rynn, Ankh's wisdom made Rynn curious of many things— namely his connection to magic. Ankh made sure Rynn was well aware of it and its consequences since he reacted to it more than his mother and seemed to have more potential than even his father. With great power, came great responsibility. In raising the boy and through every day interactions, Rynn's family made the young man think. Rynn noticed something while quietly observing those around him that he respected; magic should only be used with a purpose, one that is pure of heart.[Kingdom Hearts I]Living a relatively normal life outside of honing his magical talents, Rynn was something of an outcast in highs-school. People didn't really know how to talk to him since he always looked so aloof, but he always kindly approached others so it wasn't as though people disliked him. In essence, he was just kind of... There, not especially outstanding.
There was however, a very particular incident that got him noticed.
Now, Twilight Town was generally peaceful, the darkness of worlds beyond generally passed over it with little impact for reasons unknown. Outcroppings of Heartless were noted, but not especially common just yet. People in general knew how to deal with them. Sometime after class had ended for the day, Rynn was excited to go home and celebrate his sixteenth birthday. Rynn's birthdays were generally always a smaller reception with family and some neighbors as friends. Today, that would change.
On his way home, Rynn walked along with several fellow students that he knew reasonably well, they were all good acquaintances but not quite fully friends. When the group reached a familiar street, they were all overcome with a weird feeling as if they were being watched. Each one of them got put on edge, and Rynn, already naturally cautious did his best to prevent the rest from panicking. Noticing that the street was oddly quiet, Rynn at first thought it was because of Heartless, but nothing happening at the moment allowed that theory to hold water. It wasn't until one of the group noticed a bunch of creepy hollow looking things ominously wiggling in the wind behind all sorts of corners, each of these creatures white as a sheet with a zipper across their faces!
The strange creatures noticed the group of teens, and began to wibble-wobble closer, the zippers across their faces opening to reveal the truth under the hood. As the creatures were poised to attack, the bravest of the group stepped forward to defend the less brave. Rynn, thinking as quickly as he could, tried to figure out a way to avoid this encounter and save everyone...
In that moment, Rynn's body moved without the need to think. His mind knew logically that the only way out was a fight, but his heart was what acted first. Rynn would protect these people, not because he knew them but because it was simply the right thing to do. He had a purpose to use his skills for. Focusing magic into his arms, Rynn rushed forward and delivered a right hook straight into the chest of one of the creatures, sending it a fair few paces back. This created an opening for the others, and Rynn called for them to run and get the first adult they could find and get help while he held these beasts at bay.
Luckily, some adults heard the commotion and the call for help only hastened their arrival. Rynn, while largely inexperienced in direct fighting at this, held his own for long enough— even managing to defeat two of the creatures before being able to back out and let the more able defenders to handle it. After the combat concluded, Rynn was given a quick hybrid of scolding for being reckless and praise for his kindness. Thereafter, the young man was sent on his way home; and the fellow teenagers he defended all waited for him along with their parents; concerned for his well-being. Rynn thanked them all with a big smile and asked if they wanted to hang out sometime, or even come along to his birthday party that was going to be happening soon. Their parents were okay with this on the condition that they come along too just to keep an eye on their kids. Rynn saw no problem with this in the slightest— nor did his own parents upon everyone's arrival.
What started as a normal day, fell to a stressful encounter, but was quickly picked up with unity in kindness, topped off with a celebration. The strange creatures from earlier were taken note of, something for people to watch out for on top of the rare Heartless attacks...[Kingdom Hearts II]Ever since the incident on the day of his sixteenth birthday, Rynn decided to properly train himself from then on. Under the guidance of his uncle, Rynn progressively got better at using his magic for a combative purpose. Sure, he wasn't the greatest out there by any stretch of the imagination, but it was better than nothing.
Heartless had begun to increase in their number. Those odd creatures from the year before had now come to be widely known as Nobodies, and for some reason began to outnumber Heartless in their appearance rates. Functioning mostly as a watchful scout of sorts, Rynn did battle Heartless and Nobodies on occasion, but always left the big stuff to those that were better at this sort of thing. That aside, life was relatively normal for Rynn, he had become known as someone that was reliable and dependable at his school; and grew close to more people than before.[Recent Events]Having since graduated from high-school, Rynn began to seek out a way to understand his magical powers better than he already did, becoming a full time mage apprentice. His uncle Ankh had now begun to train Rynn seriously, and his parents joined in periodically. However, Rynn felt as though he needed to expand his horizons further than this.
To this end, shortly after his nineteenth birthday, his focus shifted to the stars. He knew other worlds were out there already, logically strife and peril of some sort would as well, but strong magic users— people that could teach him, and those of a similar mind set that exhibited the same kindness as he did should be out there somewhere as well...
Rynn Sigilaem is a thin and tall male individual with medium length dark brown hair, grey eyes and a fair complexion. Rynn sports a standard issue mage cloak in a vantablack, slightly iridescent colour due to some minor stylistic enchantments gifted to him by his uncle Ankh Sigilaem. Under the cloak he wears black dress trousers, matching black boots and a faded rainbow pastel colored long sleeved shirt.

It had been raining all day, and on days like this, Rynn had a habit of sleeping in. Something about the atmosphere and sounds of the rain in the early morning just made him relax a lot more. Thus, the young man continued snoozing... In the land of dreaming, Rynn found himself simply floating in an unknown place, his vision blurry. He tried to move and found his movement somewhat restricted as if he was floating in water even though he wasn't. Eventually, he floated on and on, until he could just barely see some sort of circle below him. It was odd beyond odd, he could still hear the rain on the roof of his home. He was both here and there, somewhere in-between, in an uncertain state of divided focus...
Rynn was jolted awake by the sounds of knocking on his door before he could see anything else in that strange place. "Y-yeah, come in?" He said groggily, blinking slowly. Rynn's father Castell had been the one to awaken him, and only held the door open. "Hey sleepyhead, I know the rain makes ya sleep longer, but its past noon now, best get a move on."
Castell gave a smile before getting a better look at his son. Rynn was in a bit of a cold sweat state, but apparently unaware of that. "You alright kiddo?" Nodding, Rynn slowly stood up out of bed. "Yeah dad, why?" Raising a brow, Castell put forward some concern. "Well, you're sweating as if you woke up from a horrible nightmare, for one." Embarrassed and startled, Rynn almost tripped over his slippers while getting them on his feet. "Wait- what? Really?" Checking his forehead, Rynn found that it was indeed the case. "Huh.. That is weird.. It wasn't a nightmare but.." The more Rynn thought about it, the more he knew that while it wasn't a nightmare, what he saw wasn't normal.
Sitting back on his bed, the young man pondered. "It wasn't a nightmare, but it felt real. Like, for realsies really real." Castell tapped his chin and stepped into the room, sitting down next to his son. "Well son, where I came from a dream like this usually meant something important. Do you remember what was in it?" After a slight pause, Rynn replied. "Kind of. I felt like I was underwater, but at the same time I wasn't, and I was floating down towards a circle of some sort. I think it was important maybe? I dunno, I was feeling something but I clearly can't remember what if I woke up sweating and had no clue why." Once again, Castell tapped his chin in thought. "It seems like something might be reaching out to you... I dunno. I'm no expert on this." Castell shrugged as he stood up. "Ankh probably knows more about this stuff than I do anyways, aheh." He added with a sheepish smile. "I could call him if you'd like. You might not have training today, but he'd for sure be willing to help. Now you get dressed, we have croissants buddy, you love those~!"
While concerned and curious about what he saw, his father's presence did help. Rynn respected the fact that his dad was honest about what he didn't know. "Yeah, if uncle Ankh can help out, that'd be cool." Rynn stifled a giggle at the mention of croissants. "A'yup. Guilty as charged." The two had a good laugh together mere seconds later. As Castell wiped a tear from his eye after such an uproarious laughing fit, he made his way back to the door. Before he could close it, Rynn spoke up again. "Hey dad?" Castell stopped in his tracks and looked over his shoulder. "Thank you, that helped a lot." Rynn gave his father a bright smile. "Not a problem, son." Castell smiled and nodded before leaving and closing the door behind him.
For a few more moments, Rynn relaxed, listening to the sounds of the rain outside...
