The king was sat on a bench outside the train station waiting to see if he could get a ride to a place that might be able to get him home. That was his purpose at the moment. It is the same thing that he had told Kairi when he had met her. The king needed to get home to his friends and his kingdom. They wouldn't be able to manage too long without his presence. He was quite important to the group after all. After sitting a while, Edgar could not believe his eyes. There was simply no way this could be happening. The sun had not shifted since he had been sitting there. It reminded him of what Kairi had said. That she was looking for a world that always had a sunset.
At the time Edgar had dismissed the notion that such a thing could be possible. Yet, here he was experiencing it. First hand. Had anyone told him that they had seen it, he would not have believe a world that left their lips. It seemed these worlds were quite different than his own. Maybe the laws of physics as they knew them did not apply to every realm. There may be a different application or calculation depending.
It was a hard concept to wrap his head around. He didn't think himself closed minded. However, he did like to think he knew more than he did. He was very good with architecture and engineering. He had a firm grasp on the sciences surrounding it. But, if every world was different, then the same concepts would not apply if he tried to reinvent them as his own in his world. He would have to take the concepts and adapt them as necessary to make them plausible.
But, that was sat aside as he watched in awe over the non-setting sun. It was quite a sight and rather beautiful to say the least. He could enjoy that.

"What a curious place this is!" An excited and melodic voice filled the air of Twilight Town's market district as Maeve Rakshasa, the esper without a home, spun and twirled about taking in all the sights. A soft little smile turned into a warm grin as she took in many of the wonders and curiosities with an almost child like wonder. Sure she got a few puzzled looks here and there given her outlandish appearance but she paid them little mind. She was having fun seeing this new world, in fact it gave her a similar feeling that she had when she explored the Human Realm back when she was a child. "It's kind of like Traverse Town...Though it's different somehow..." She remarked, before having her attention caught by a stall selling trinkets and little mechanical toys. Her curiosity caused her to kneel down to inspect the array of tiny wonders before one in particular caught her eye. She blinked, looking at the small mechanical toy train before her eyes lit in recognition. "Oh! This is supposed to be the train that runs through here! How cute!" She giggled, despite herself. Feeling a fondness for the town, she decided to buy it...Sort of as a memento. "Maybe I ought to take a closer look at the real thing too." She mused after leaving the stall. "Yeah, that'll be good footnote for this little adventure for sure." ... So after a long day of exploring and shopping, Maeve made her way toward the train station, her goods in hand. Her smile remained as strong as ever...At least until she saw who was already sitting there. Her fiery eyes widened with both shock and recognition as she realized who it was! After all, it was impossible to miss royalty. Wait... If HE's here maybe some others from her world survived? Could he be trusted though? He was aligned with the empire after all, last she recalled anyway. Still, he could be a good way to find out what happened to her home! Her headfins began to flag with distress as she fidgeted with indecision before her wandering eyes finally settled on an abandoned stall nearby with a dusty old tarp atop of it.
After making sure to try and hide her arms, tail, and ears with the oversized 'cloak' she'd approach with caution. "H-hey there!" She stammered, both fear and nervousness gripping her heart as she quickly stopped herself from waving. "Is this seat taken sir?" She asked forcing a sweet little smile. Despite her hurried disguise Edgar would still be able to see the girl's face beneath the obscuring garb. He'd be able to see just how nervous she was .
"I-I hope I'm not bothering you."

It had been a short time since she had spoken with her brother, and Luna had found herself wandering worlds, in search of her beloved Noctis and his companions. She hoped they were all right, but she had found no-one yet who could tell her anything about where they could be. It had been so long since she had seen any of them, especially Noctis. She hoped that this time around, with the second chance it seemed they had been gifted, they would be able to spend more time together, without worrying about the Scourge and darkness that had sought to destroy their world. Her heart ached with longing, to be with him again and it was hard not knowing where he was or if he was okay. However, she was not discouraged, and she believed that they would find each other again. Until then, as long as the others were with him, Noctis would be safe.
This strangely-eternal sunset-lit place was different from home, but only in a few senses. The unfading light was comforting and assuring; though she was not by any means afraid of the dark, she delighted in the continuous light of this quiet and peaceful place. It was, as she had learned from a local, called Twilight Town because of the sun that never set. This seemed like a wonderful idea to the young Oracle. Though her clothing was still somewhat outlandish, she had bought a white woven cloak to wrap around herself, to keep comfortable in changing worlds and also to somewhat conceal her presence so as not to disturb the flow of the lives around her or to attract unwanted attention. She wasn't hiding, but she was trying to keep her profile to a minimal influence, should there be enemies around.
Lunafreya had been told that the best place to view the sunset was the Station Plaza, and so she had made her way through the dusky streets, smiling at the people she passed, to the Plaza. The local had indeed been correct about the wonder of the view one could see from up here. But it would also seem she was not the only one here. She noticed a male and heard the voice of a female, and turned to look toward the others who occupied the Station Plaza, watching their interaction with interest. The make was seated on a bench in front of what she presumed was the Station, and the source of the female voice came from a figure who was wrapped in a concealing material that seemed a bit off; and the manner of speaking the female used sounded nervous, a bit strained, perhaps. Did these two know each other? She would remain silent, however, blue eyes catching the light of the sun before she would realize she might be mistaken for staring and would turn her attention back to the sunset.

Edgar was extremely content leaning back against the bench. It was rather nice to have a moment of peace for the first time in a while. His responsibilities to his kingdom on hold due to his absence. The king was proud of how his kingdom grew and maintained itself without his physically being there. It was a blessing in disguise. Though, the silent was interrupted by the approach of a taller female. His bright blue eyes moving to trace over the oddly garbed woman before him. The voice and figure beneath the clothing certainly screamed female and there didn't seem to be an adam's apple. The woman before him seeming much older than the girl Relm's age that he spoke with on the last world. This one seemed safe. She did not appear to be a man and she certainly seemed of age. Edgar was a bit more cautious after he mistakenly flirted with the man Dieter with the effeminate form and Kairi who was still just a budding flower.
The woman who approached him seemed quite nervous and unsure. Edgar chalking it up to the fact that he was devilishly handsome. It must have taken a lot of courage for her to approach him. He felt he gave off a rather regal air without trying too hard. She spoke, greeting him before asking to sit. How could he deny her the pleasure of joining him on the bench. It would be cruel to turn such a beautiful creature away. From underneath the tarp, he could see she was at least a bit attractive.
"The seat is free, but I believe you may have taken my heart." He smiled softly at the woman as he made a bit of room for her. "You are not a bother in the slightest. I do quite enjoy company on occasions like this. I was admiring the setting sun, though not as stunning as I am sure your smile is." He was nailing it. Those were probably his best ones yet. Though, he felt a little out of practice having focused his attention on Terra more recently, but she wouldn't get jealous with a bit of flirting. He was a man after all.
Sadly, he had not noticed the equally stunning blonde that was watching their encounter. She was radiant and Edgar wouldn't skip a beat in conversing with both. The king wasn't tied down to only one woman just yet. Terra hadn't requested he do so yet. But, that wasn't important right now. The young woman sitting to his side was in need of his attention and charm. It was only fair he not skimp on her because of his feelings for another that hadn't reciprocated his feelings. Right?
"A friend of mine told me about a town like this. I believe she called it Twilight Town?" He asked, presuming that the woman to his right was of this world with her odd attire. Though, he couldn't judge. There were people in his world that dressed far stranger.

The dragoness had no idea what to expect from this king when she made her approach. She pictured whoever had the gall to side with the Gestahlian Empire was either someone who's heart was callous and uncaring of the lives the empire took or a cowardly worm who lacked the spine to stand up for what is just. However, when the (admittedly charming) king wove his silken words of admiration toward the girl she couldn't help but be shocked. Her fiery eyes widened and her cheeks flushed to a rosy red as she took the time to register what Edgar had said to her.
"T-To say things like that so suddenly..." She uttered under her breath unsure if she should snap at him for making fun of her or bundle herself like a cocoon in the makeshift cloak she had found to hide from his sweet words. In her moment of indecision: both the king and the onlooking stranger would be able to catch something wiggle under her hood as her headfins flagged up and down frantically as if they were reacting to her emotional state. She eventually composed herself and forced a smile.
"Yes...Twilight Town is the name! I assume you are visiting from another world then sir?" She paused, letting the question linger for a moment before making a concerned face. "Please don't tell me your world was lost like so many others!" She gasped in an attempt to redirect the conversation to the information she sought. She quickly took the seat that was offered so she could lean forward and listen carefully to his response. This was her chance to learn the fate of both her home and people after all!
The onlooker in white would be able to catch a glimpse of something curious through the Esper's clumsy disguise as she moved to sit. In a brief instant, the tarp moved aside to reveal a glint of something gold. It was scaled tail that quickly lashed back to readjust the disguise!

The sunset was amazing; Luna felt as if she could spend all eternity staring at its red-orange beauty, and it seemed the sun would not change a bit in that eternity or any others, for that matter. Indeed, it appeared that this sun and its world were caught in a moment of time, never to progress forward despite the days passing. She could understand the appeal of living here; you would never be without light. For those who had encountered darkness in its many forms, the light would be a beacon, an unchanging promise to hold on to. The people here, however, those who seem to have lived here for generations, have yet to be bothered by the darkness she has sensed on other worlds. It is almost as if this little quiet world is separate, protected, a sanctuary for those whose lives have always been here, as well as for visitors passing through.
However, her enraptured fascination with the sun is dismissed as her attention is pulled to the two who are also occupying the plaza, noting with curiosity and some intrigue the female-voiced being's struggle with her covering, and her very nervous disposition. She hoped the anxiety was not caused by her (Luna's) presence, but it seemed that perhaps the female had not expected to encounter others up above the town, as they were. The male seemed almost not to notice the case of nerves, but was indeed rather laid-back in his manner, as though nothing would ruffle him; in fact, he almost had a grand sort of air about him. She watched the two with discreet curiosity.
Hearing the man's flirts, however, Luna almost wanted to laugh. She had heard lines in her time on Eos; not spoken, indeed, to herself, but when traveling in the cities one would hear such phrases or attempts to garner admiration or evoke a flirtatious/emotional response from whichever female happened to be the recipient of such words. It was not that what he said was funny, in fact it could almost be charming, but the obviousness was amusing. She did, however, note that the female became very flustered, seemingly unsettled by his words, and the nerves caused an apparent fumble with her cover, and as the female hurried to readjust herswlf, Luna thought she saw the sunset's light flash off of something golden; it was hard to tell what it was, exactly, and gone so quickly Luna felt that it must have been possibly armor or some adornment the female was wearing. She moved forward to offer her help in fixing the female's 'cloak', as it seemed she might be in need of assistance.
"Well, it would seem that you have a way with words, though I doubt you intended to upset her so.."
Her words are directed towards the male with a smile that is genuine, but her demeanor is somewhat reserved, as she does not know these two yet. She is not defensive, merely keeping to a mostly non-committal stance.

Noting the little bit of the girl's face flush, Edgar knew that he'd been successful with his opening lines. The king was quite popular with the ladies and he knew it. The man would never skip a beat when the heart of a woman was on the line. Sadly, he had missed the twitch of her fins between staring into her soul and watching the sunset. Honestly, the king was not the most observant man on the face of the earth. He missed things once in a while.
That's when the young woman confirmed the name of the town before inquiring about his own world. Well, that was weird to be concerned about the fate of another's world. The king seemed curious as to her question. No one else had asked him such a thing. Maybe it was more commonplace on this world? "Well, that's quite an odd thing to ask a complete stranger. I haven't even had the pleasure of requesting your name." He smiled as charmingly as he could muster. "My name is Edgar. As for my world, it is quite safe and sound as far as I am aware. I had the unpleasant experience of getting taken from my world without permission. What of yours? Though, I would certainly settle for just a name as fitting for you as those brilliant golden eyes."
Edgar was being sure not to lay the compliments on too thick. He'd not been so lucky with the last two people he had flirted with. One had been revealed to be a rather effeminate looking man. The latter had turned out to be far below his preferred age range. His bright eyes shifted to land on an equally attractive woman. Well, she was honestly more attractive seeing as she was not draped in a burlap or muslin garb. She was wearing a dress that certainly flattered her shape. The woman was very beautiful. But, she seemed to have an equally regal air about her. That was something he'd need to inquire into without making either woman jealous.
"I'm blessed with being greeted by two equally radiant women today. Lady Luck is certainly smiling on me today. Though, what you say is true. I did not intend to make anyone uncomfortable with my words. But, my lips can't hold back the truth when I'm graced with the prescience of two equally radiant goddesses." He bowed his head graciously before looking the two women over. He was curious to learn more about these worlds and maybe these two would be drunk enough on his words to reveal what they knew. It had been successful in the past. Now he was going to find out if he still had his charm. "I'd be as forward as stating that neither of you are from this world. Your dress stands out amongst the locals as mine does."

Those golden eyes trailed downward as the rest of the world sort of melded away into a confusing mess of color and white noise. She couldn't think straight, the man's words were so unwieldy that she was staggered. The Esper tried to focus as the realization settled within her heart. She let out a sharp inhale as if ice water had been flushed through her veins. Her world wasn't lost. Yet she had still left it unprotected. Maeve was so convinced that her world was gone that she didn't even look back. Was she that stupid? Or was she really just that happy to be rid of such a nightmarish place? Her brows furrowed to a point as she started slipping back into reality. The girl stood up, her tarp sliding away as she took a step forward, revealing those extra arms, glimmering white-gold scales and the other very dragon-like features. Her hand gripped the hilt of her blade as she looked back, a glimmer of tears burning in her eyes. "You're correct King Edgar. I am not from this world. I am Maeve Rakshasa, one of the Esper that the Gestahlian Empire hunted. The very same empire your kingdom cozied up to" Maeve drew her massive cleaver and pointed it straight at the man while fully turning to him. She paid the woman nothing but a frantic glance to see if she would stand in her way. "You're going to tell me everything. Are my people still alive? Or did you and your dogs snuff them out!" The Esper's voice shook as her vision was blurred with tears. The years of mourning, pain and sorrow all poured from her heart as she finally confronted one of the men she saw as responsible. "If they are all gone...Tell me, How can you live with that damn smile on your face."

Though the words exchanged were pleasant enough, and seemed fitting in the tranquil atmosphere of the place they were in, Lunafreya felt a tension forming, one that was not easily to be dismissed. It was not of her doing, however; no, indeed, it seemed to come from the other female. A great sense of sorrow seemed to emanate from the shorter female. It was almost tangible, as if one could reach out and actually feel the burden this one carried. She had sort of been able to pick up on things like this back on Eos, in the life she had known then. Perhaps, with the blessing of the Astrals, a second chance at life, she had become more in tune with the world around her. Not specifically this world, but those around her who inhabited these worlds?
The male, who introduced himself as Edgar, was not too forward in his manner of speaking, and Luna felt as if there might be some sort of regality about him, though she wasn't quite sure about him, or the other female. She didn't usually give names, not recently, as she was still new to these strange worlds and had no idea who might be around. The last thing she needed was to find people just like those in the Niflheim empire. For now she kept to herself, deciding to rather simply nod in agreement with his assumption that they, at least she, was not from this world. Not that she wouldn't be happy here in this quiet town, but she had her own world to return to. Eos could not be left on its own.
And then suddenly that sense of sorrow became intense, grief and anger and maybe even guilt? It was surprising when the female suddenly moved forward, drawing a weapon and pointing it at Edgar. Though she was not a stranger to fighting, she also felt that this was not the time, and certainly not the place. Thankfully it didn't seem that there were any, or any, people around to witness this scene. She was careful of the blade, but would step between them to prevent further escalation should there be any intended. Hey voice was kept low, but stern. While she did not know the history between these two, she could not just stand by.
"Please, settle down... We don't need to start anything, let alone here. Surely this is a matter that can be discussed without a scene."
Her blue eyes were clear but hard. She would not take no for an answer. While she could understand that the female had apparently been through a lot and had carried whatever it was for a while, she also was not about to condone fighting in this world. Her words were directed to the female, before she glanced to Edgar.
"Clearly she feels you have committed some wrong to her. I don't believe she'll just walk away from this. Do you want to explain?"
Her words are of a mediator, not accusatory. Simply asking for his explanation.

Edgar was feeling quite smooth right now. He was being flirty and it was enjoyable. At least these woman were attractive looking and certainly old enough to be worth pursuing romantically. His eyes noticed the flowing emotions on the esper near him. He honestly had no idea she was an esper, but there was something going on inside that sweet mind of her's. He began to speak up when her emotions changed slightly and she decided to reveal her true form. The appearance threw him off a bit as he looked her over. He was informed that people from different worlds all looked a bit different depending on the world they hailed from. It did make him feel a bit uncomfortable. But, at least they weren't an esper..... wait.
Maybe Lady Luck wasn't smiling as brightly as Edgar thought...
The King flinched a bit as she announced that she was an esper. Oh, the Gods did not look kindly upon him today. That is what became of him being as forward as he had been with two women at the same time. He should have kept his focus on the blonde that was minding her own business out of the way. Instead, he had to chatter away like he always did. Sabin always warned him it could get him into trouble. "e-esper..." He fumbled a bit as he stood from his seat on the bench and almost as awkwardly stumbled to work to put the bench between himself and the magical being. Their power did frighten the King slightly. He was doing far better than he used to with dealing with the situation. The sword was pointed at him as he placed his hands up defensively behind the bench, keeping some distance between them. It took a few extra moments before he realized what she was saying.
"W-wait... what?" He half questioned as he watched her emotions come to life on her fair face. That is, until the other women stepped between the two of them. That was a sharp stab to his pride! Again, Edgar cringed a bit as he lowered his hands slightly. A woman had stepped to his aid. This was worse than when Terra had saved his hide in the past. He always felt it was a gentleman's duty to protect women. "Hold on a moment. Did her wrong? Wait..... Maeve was it? How long have you been absent from the world? Because it has been a few years, at least... Figaro was working secretly with the Resistance during the Empire's reign. Kefka continued capturing Espers. I don't know how many... The world fell into ruin for a brief time... but things are well and recovering again. The Empire is gone. You can rest a bit easier." He explained as he stepped forward, shifting himself around the bench in front of Lunafreya. He shifted his hand up to push the woman's blade slightly downward and away from the two of them. He hoped that it wouldn't be seen as too offensive or forward.

The Esper was quiet for a long moment. She lowered her gaze as she stood completely still. Yet despite that quiet stillness: she refused to lower the blade, even when the princess stepped forward between her and Edgar. Maeve reflected on the king's words for a long moment before finally clenching her eyes shut as she let out a furious growl. The dragon raised the blade above her head, like a beacon of all her hate and pain before swinging. The blade slammed into the ground in front of her as it was embedded to rest into the concrete.
The girl slumped forward, an endless stream of tears dropping to the ground below as her lip quivered pitifully. She sunk to her knees, her hands desperately clung to the hilt of her blade for support as she just let the realization flow over her. Her people...Her world...They were okay. The evils that had hung over her, the pain of regret...It was all finally gone. All she could do was cry.
"...I have no reason to believe you. This seems too good to be true, like it's a dream." The esper managed to choke through her sobs as she looked up to the two of them through her blurred gaze. "But...Living in mourning and regret over the loss of...Everything has been a nightmare. I was so sure that once the world was split that was the end. I figured the Triad keeping me alive was a punishment for leaving my family. To hear...That all of my fears have been for naught...Numbs me."
She didn't even have the strength to stand. She barely had the strength to continue letting her tears fall."I'm Sorry."
It was impossible to tell if she was apologizing to the two of them, herself, or the people she had left behind...

Lunafreya watched the two, even as Edgar moved between herself and the sword-wielding female. While she understood that this was (somehow) his situation to deal with, she felt that he shouldn't get so close to a weapon that's pointed at him, especially with the heavy atmosphere of emotions that hang over this encounter. She had seen despair, hopelessness, the sense of being subdued; she was not a stranger to anger or the want for revenge, either. These emotions had been running high among people she had visited while the Niflheim empire watched and suppressed any who sought to denounce the invading and usurping empire. She knew what it was like to be angry, despairing, and confined, even within one's own home or world. She could empathize.
Though she had little to no idea what history has passed between these two, she realized that the words exchanged were crucial; they changed the course of everything. The female's weapon imbedded itself in the stone of the place they stood in, and Luna watched as the female crumpled to the ground, seemingly unable to stand anymore. She wanted to move forward to help her, but she also felt that this should be a moment Edgar aided in, also. She gave him a meaningful look, hoping that he caught on to her line of thinking, and knelt down beside the female. Though she was an Oracle, it wasn't just her duty to help; no, this was from the heart, the duty all people held toward others, to help those in need, those who are hurting, lost, etc. It was something she felt should be a common thing: compassion. She knew, however, that this was not common. So showing it and aiding others was definitely something that was needed.
"You seem to have been carrying an immense burden, for quite some time. You don't need to apologize when it finally takes over. It's what you do with the realization when all is ended that matters."
She gently rested a hand on the female's shoulder, comforting. She had seen many fall under their own burdens, and knowing she could not help them had caused her great pain.
"I have been wondering what happened to my own people, my own friends, my world. I haven't yet been able to return there, so their fates are unknown to me. I'm not sure if they are even there; if they've fallen in my absence. The one my heart belongs to...I haven't heard if he's even alive. But I still have hope, somewhere inside, that we'll find each other. I suppose that sounds silly, impossible, even."
She hoped that this lent a little light to the situation. After all, hope was a powerful thing.

Edgar closed his eyes and braced for the impact of the blade. There was a loud clamor before he reopened them, seeing Maeve crying uncontrollably on the ground. Was that his fault? He hated to see a woman cry. It was worse than facing an esper. This was not a very good day for him. He felt a serious hit to his pride as he stood there, unsure of what to do or how to help the situation.
Maeve began to blubber out that she felt it was all too good to be true. He had no response as she stayed on the ground. What was he supposed to do? It wasn't like they knew each other where a hug wouldn't be unwelcome. All he could do was stand there and cringe as he watched.
Thankfully, Lunafreya butted in. He was more than happy that she had taken over that part. He didn't know what to do about it. But, a woman comforting a woman usually got a better response. As long as the esper stopped crying, things would turn out for the better. He peeked around Lunafreya a bit to keep tabs on the situation before whispering quietly to Lunafreya. "Thank you... Is she going to be alright?" He asked a bit uncomfortably. OOC: Super short. Sorry, guys.
