When most people describe their home, Roxas imagined they used words like ‘warm’ ‘bright’ or ‘safe.’ At least, that was what his Somebody’s memories of the Destiny Islands seemed to suggest. Twilight Town had felt like that for a while, until the curtain on that dream pulled up that is.
No, home for Roxas was a castle, a proud gaudy monolith of disjointed ramparts and breezeways above dizzying heights. Every part of the complex was sagittal, pointed, and cruel from the inverted need-like spires to toothy portcullises attached hap-hazelly to surfaces already unassailable. Its sides were not mortar or stone, but circuity-studded titanium. The metal had a decidedly deathly parlor under the light of a jaundiced heart-shaped moon. The technological grooves and gyres covering the fortressed seemed like veins, raised and luminous in the throes of lunar fever.
The architectural conceit of a ‘castle’ was actually a flimsy one, unless ‘big and imposing’ were the sole metric. The mass of the structure was top-heavy. A web of towers and causeways all connected to a single chrome cylinder reminiscent of a battery. It proceeded downward in the manner of a reverse annular ziggurat, terminating at a narrow point that connected to the spoke of a great wheel. Thus was the Castle That Never Was resembled a monstrous ballerina in a way, a mechanical horror pirouetting on its musical box above an empty metropolis.
Standing there on the Brink of Despair, standing with his shoes inches from a yawning void and overshadowed by the looming behemoth of his former home, Roxas with knew sweat-inducing clarity that his thoughts had strayed at critical moment while demarcating dimensions.
Too close, way too close…
“C’mon,” Roxas snapped a bit too quickly for casualness, attempt to grab at Alexius’ sleeve as he abruptly reversed direction.
“We need to get’a move on…now”

I WILL WALK MY OWN PATH. IT'S NOW OR NEVER. THE first stop that they had made on this trip was an..interesting one, to be sure. Alexius had never seen a single town that was as bright as Disney Town had been. He also hadn't gotten a chance to demonstrate his skills on such a large scale before. Hell, he had even won that dance competition. But he had taken the struggle tournament too casually, and was knocked out of it in the first round. That wasn't too bad, in his mind. It was just smacking each other with padded bats, after all.
So yeah, even though Roxas had been the one that had successfully opened the corridors that Alexius had practiced using after both of those events stung his pride a bit, the SeeD was in a pretty good mood. However, even he could feel the inherent..wrongness about this area. As he made his way out of the corridor--the inky abyss closing behind him, leaving a scar in the air for a moment before it vanished--he saw something he was not expecting. A floating..was that a castle? It looked more like someone had tried to mash together a bunch of different buildings..
But even though Alexius wanted to laugh at how mismatched and desperate to look intimidating that 'castle' was..he couldn't. Everything here felt distinctly wrong. Was it the Castle itself that was the source of this feeling? Maybe. But when Roxas nearly immediately said that they needed to get a move on immediately, Alexius didn't argue with him."Yeah..something about this place just feels..wrong." He admitted as he turned his back on the castle, following close behind Roxas, all while looking around. At a glance, all of these tall buildings reminded him of Galbadia and its ambitions. If there was any single country in Archipelago that would have a town that was all but filled with skyscrapers..Galbadia would be it. So on top of this place being unmistakably bleak, it was foreign in a familiar way.
That all too familiar sense of tension that he had gained during his various missions as a SeeD in training was starting to settle on his shoulders again. His eyes darted from building to building, inspecting every single nook and cranny that he could spot. This entire place felt almost hostile to him. Was this really the place that Roxas called home?
No. He had no room to judge. He knew how insane what he had told Roxas would have sounded. Monsters everywhere, children training to be soldiers..creatures that take the form of energy inside one's mind? If he hadn't been from Archipelago, he would never have believed any of it.
Still..after some time, that sense of tension faded down to a much more minor version of dread. It actually made Alexius relax enough to ask a question or two."So..what's a 'Keyblade'?" He asked as they kept walking down the road. The emptiness of it was what worried him. There weren't any sidewalks..and he was sure that he could avoid a car if he needed to. But the fact that this place was so empty..so devoid of life? It worried Alexius. This world..something about it didn't seem right.
Still, he waited for Roxas to answer his question. It had been burning in his mind ever since the final round Roxas had done in the dance competition. That word echoed silently throughout his mind as he watched those strange weapons of Roxas's spin throughout the air.
He wanted to know what it meant..but they hadn't really had a chance to talk again until after they had gotten back together after the Struggle tournament. And a lot of that discussion had been relating to getting out of this place, and that it wasn't where he had been meaning to take them. Still..what did that word mean..? MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

What was a Keyblade? The question was an difficult one, more so because Roxas had learned what little he knew almost purely through trial and error, albeit with enigmatic hints from his superiors. For a while the Keyblade had just been a symbol of how he was different, a subtle deviance in nature that made him both chosen and expendable. After that, when Roxas yearned to stay immersed in the comforting facsimile of Twilight Town, the Keyblade was the first sign that paradise was just a program, a fleeting dream of impossible normalcy. In time he’d even come to bear two blades, a bitter inheritance from a beloved friend whose face he remembered less of every day…
…even her name it just…slipped through his thoughts like sand.
Yet, that probably wasn’t the direction of Alexius’ query, Roxas mentally amended as they stode through empty streets. In truth, this gloaming maze was more empty aspiration then a true dwelling place, a great plan constructed just up the point of execution and then abruptly abandoned to rot silently in the dark. Towers of steel, glass, and neon lights loomed as the pair clambered through streets clogged by abandoned cars and freight. Benches, shopping malls, parking garages, boutiques, and urban distractions of every conceivable kind were absolutely bereft of patrons. The theaters played hours long clips of static, the radios just white noise, and the electronic billboards overhead displayed just repetitive undulations of light and darkness not quite coalescing into discernible shapes to actually advertise products. Eagerness and bitter despair commingled here, the need for fulfillment left forever fallow.
“While back we talked ‘bout Light and Darkness making up the Worlds,” Roxas reminded patiently, flickering streets lights above striating the contours of his face as they passed. “They’re always struggling against each other, creating, destroying, undermining, waxing, and waning..” Dips of the hand pantomimed the theosophic tidal forces of the universe as the boy’s soft tenor seemed thunderous in the sepulchral silence. “Over and over,” just a hint of spiritual weariness entered the Key of Destiny’s tone at the cyclical summary. “Also true for our Hearts,” Roxas advised as they turned a corner, skirting an overturned cargo-tracer. “A Keyblade is that struggle made into somethin’ physical.”
The boy paused as their path took them into a painfully familiar square, a rare broad thoroughfare in the choking crush of the tenebrous metropolis. Lamp-lined stairs lead up to a an illumined patio at the foot of a colonnade comprised of lambent glow sheathing cold steel. Windows climbed the side facing the boys, curious patterns forming in the negative space between lit rooms. No sign noted what industry or company this towering edifice represented. The emblem of an azure star beneath a sunburst would never leave Roxas’ memory however. The Organization had called it Memory’s Skyscraper, though he'd never though to inquire why.
Something prickled the back of Roxas’ neck, a chill that washed down the skin of his back like ice-cold water. Frowning, Roxas turned, thoughts dimly going through half-notions of rain before blue eyes went wide in recognition, face paling in bloodless foreboding.

Xemnas sat atop the Altar of Naught, the apex of the Castle That Never Was. He stared up at his beloved, the heart shaped moon in the sky. His mind didn’t wonder much about anything else. He didn’t wonder about the other 12 seekers of Darkness or the seven that would wield the Light into battle. All he carried about…was HIS Kingdom Hearts, which had been ruined by the denizens of Light. Xemnas sat completely still, staring up at the love of his life, wondering when he would be able to rebuild it again. He wondered how he would be able to rebuild it again. Could he find another warrior of the Keyblade to help him? He tried to get the last one he met to help him, but the young man was too dense to realize that he would have been better of serving Xemnas. Xemnas cursed himself and the fiery warrior over the missed opportunity. Xemnas couldn’t think of any other way; and with Sora seemingly missing according to Xemnas himself, there was no way to gather hearts for his ultimate plan in restoring the one thing that truly mattered in his entire existence. Xemnas hung his head in despair, but then, something strange happened…
Xemnas’s head popped up. He felt a presence, no it was two, one of which happened to be a very familiar one. Someone was in the dark city below the castle. Xemnas stood up to his feet and closed his eyes to hone in on who or what it could have been. The auras that he sensed were strong but the one that was familiar to him stuck out the most, although he had not met the second being before. Despite this, there was one detail that The Superior of The In-Between had realized. Whoever had made the decision to come into this world was clearly a Nobody or at least, one of them were. There was no doubt about that. Xemnas gave a light smile to himself, as he knew that it wasn’t any ordinary Nobody. This Nobody was one of the great 13 that Xemnas had assembled to complete his plan. It was Roxas! His servant had returned home, so now Xemnas could rebuild his army and restore Kingdom Hearts once again. Xemnas stretched out his arms in celebration. Fate works in mysterious ways and Xemnas was glad that fate was on his side. He didn’t even care for the second being anymore, at least, not right now. Although, nobodies do tend to betray their own kind. Xemnas would have to be sure to remember that, in case this particular nobody gets any other idea other than to serve his Superior and bring him glory with his deeds. Xemnas made his way over to the nobody in question. He levitated himself into the air and made his way over to Memory’s Skyscraper.
On the way there, Xemnas clenched his right fist and electrical discharges began to surround it and a white aura began to surround Xemnas. Xemnas then brought his right fist up to his eye level and then, he sharply and suddenly outstretched both of his arms, releasing a shining bright light. When the light faded, Xemnas’s Organization XIII changed from plain black to having white and black exotic accents on it. Xemnas then took off his hood, having had it on since before now. Xemnas activated his Final Form, gaining power of light and darkness as well as increasing his power of nothingness even further. Xemnas landed softly atop of the largest skyscraper in the world, looking down upon his two targets. He then summoned his Afterimage to appear in behind them. He then commanded his clone to charge at them as soon as they turned around to see his clone but he made sure that the clone disappeared on contact. After that, he swooped down upon them and landed in front of them.
“My dear servant, you have returned home. You have returned to your Superior. My thanks, your fealty will not go unrewarded. Come, we must plan our next move against the denizens of light so that we may restore my Kingdom Hearts. Your friend is welcome as well, Roxas…”, Xemnas said, putting his hand out toward the way to the castle, as if to lead Roxas and his companion toward the castle.
Actions Taken:
1. Xemnas uses Final Form.
2. Xemnas uses his Xemnas Clone technique to frighten his "visitors".
3. Xemnas swoops down to make himself known to his "visitors".
Moves used:
Final Form - 6 Post Duration; 6 Post Cooldown Like Sora, Xemnas is also capable of achieving a “Final Form”. He is the only other being that is capable of doing so. Xemnas utilizes the power of light and darkness as well as his own power over nothingness when he transforms into this form. Xemnas clench his right fist and electrical discharges will surround it and a white aura will surround Xemnas. Xemnas will then bring his right fist up to his eye level and he will outstretch both of his arms and he will then release a shining, bright, light. When the light fades, Xemnas’s Organization XIII would have changed from plain black to having white and black exotic accents on it. Xemnas will reach a great deal of power once he activates this form. He is capable of using the powers that he was capable of using in his Normal Form as well as using more innovative, devastating ones as well. This form was so strong that it took both Sora and Riku giving all they had in order to beat it.
Xemnas Clone - 3 Post Cooldown; can only be used in Final Form Xemnas is capable of summoning a clone to do his bidding. This clone can assist in an attack, thereby doubling the damage. This clone is capable of protecting Xemnas by taking attacks just as well. However, after one action, being whether it’s protecting Xemnas or assisting him in an attack, the clone is dismissed right after.
Levitation and Flight - Passive; can be used normally as well as in his Final Form Xemnas is capable of levitating his body off of the ground and he is even capable of flight. Xemnas, in his power, is able to fly to great heights and over long distances. He can levitate in mid-air; he can float in mid air as close to the ground as he wants and he can float high into the air at his leisure as well. Xemnas is capable of using his flying abilities in combat as well as at his leisure as well.

I WILL WALK MY OWN PATH. IT'S NOW OR NEVER. WHILE Alexius had indeed been expecting Roxas to have some kind of answer to his question, he didn't expect for it to be connected to the previous explanation Roxas had given about light and darkness. Hm. Well..this certainly was an interesting development. Alexius mentally took note of how things supposedly worked. Light and Darkness always being in flux. It was an interesting concept. Of course, he continued to listen..and found himself being even more surprised. So..a Keyblade was a manifestation of either light or darkness. That was it?
"Huh. With how that name kept repeating in my head during your last round of dancing..I would have thought that there would be a more dramatic explanation to it than that." He said as he kept walking, his eyes on the variety of buildings, televisions..and the whole eerie lack of people in general. This place was interesting. But that nagging sense of dread remained. In fact, it was even stronger here than it had been near that castle. Here, that feeling had become all but unfathomable. Nothing felt correct. Everything felt like it was being pulled away from reality..from even existing.
Unfortunately, Alexius was too wrapped up in his own thoughts to have noticed that Roxas had stopped walking, and Alexius took a few more steps forward, only to stop when he heard a new voice. It was coming from behind them, and sounded like it was getting closer. He snapped to attention almost immediately, his ungauntleted hand hovering mere inches away from the handle of the sword that he carried on his back. And as he heard the voice get even closer, he drew the sword and went to slash with it in one extremely fluid motion..that ended up hitting an afterimage.
Interesting. But combined with what this new arrival was saying..calling himself Roxas's 'Superior'..it was unnerving, to say the least. Especially combined with the fact that Alexius was now able to place that feeling that he had been getting the whole time. It was essentially a feeling of emptiness. And this new arrival, who was now in front of the both of them..he was exuding it like mad.
Alexius didn't say a word as he glanced over at Roxas, his sword held at the ready. He wasn't sure about any of this situation, so he was leaving the decision of what to do up to his companion. If they were to fight, then they woul fight. If they were going with this strange, silver haired man..then he would go with it, if only to give his companion the benefit of the doubt. He didn't trust this new arrival, especially since he talked about the 'denizens of light'. Given what he had learned from Roxas..he was sure that this man meant that he was planning things against the people living throughout the universe.

Xemnas, Superior of the In Between and foremost of Roxas’ kind, took the form of towering man with a golden gaze that went right through your skin. The nihilkinetic wore a coat much like Roxas’ own, but woven with a bifurcation between white and black. The sagittal thorns of the Nobody sigil spiraled and twisted across its surface like medieval heraldry, yet also faintly evinced the coalition of a snow leopard. The comparison suited Xemnas well perhaps, soft feline grace and gravitas covering a predator’s claws. He was statuesque in a very complete sense of the word. His intimidating frame and surprisingly delicate features, a subdued mouth and narrow nose that tapered into a smooth brow, could have easily been carved upon the great stone masterpieces of Thebes. Yet, it went deeper then that. Like those sculptures, Xemnas was a facsimile of a real person, an idealized imitation given the spark of animation. Sometimes, crazy as it sounded, looking into those golden eyes framed by ashen hair tucked behind the ears, Roxas could’ve sworn he knew in whose image Xemnas was cast…or had known him…somehow…
But then again, Xemnas’ stare was the kind that played tricks with your head.
Roxas’ adopter and former boss swept into a welcome that assumed number thirteen was coming back into the fold with a friend in tow, and just like that, Roxas felt the stressful grip of entrapment build in the muscles of his neck.
Scathing refusal, the first instinct that boiled up from Roxas’ gut, would probably lead to a fight. Normally that’d be fine, Roxas was always ready to throw down. Roxas’d promised a dying …friend…sister….someone?… that he’d avenge her, bring Xemnas down. This man, if a Nobody could be called that, had jerked around Roxas and everyone he cared about like puppets on strings and watched them burn one by one. If Alexius wasn’t here, Roxas would’ve probably just surrendered to the rage making his veins warm and breaths deep, let this all play out at blade’s edge.
Yet, he wasn’t alone, and Alexius hadn’t come along to possibly perish in the fray because of grudges within Roxas’ cultic family. The brutal fact of it was, driven home just standing in the void-wielder’s presence again, that even at the height of his strength Roxas’ chances very Xemnas were dicey to be generous, and Roxas was far one hundred percent after being ripped from Sora. Axel could vibrate atoms into ignition, Vexen could make moisture solid with a thought, Larxene manipulated the electromagnetic spectrum, and so on with each of Xemnas’ disciples focusing on controlling an aspect of creation, ending with Roxas himself, who could concentrate photons. But Xemnas had dominion over a force older then the elements, or even matter and energy. Xemnas could summon the fathomless unbeing that existed before the birth of the universe. Roxas honestly had no idea how, or even if such a primordial power had quantifiable limits. What was for certain however, is that challenging Xemnas on his own doorstep was probably a death sentence, one Alexius at least didn’t deserve.
On the other hand, to accept the invitation of the castle’s lord could lead to something worse then death. Roxas had seen first hand the amber sickness in Marluxia’s eyes, the creeping corruption that suffocated the Self until the body was just a hollow doll.
Alexius was looking at him for the heads-up.
Time, he needed a time to think this through, find a plan where they both made it out themselves and in one piece.
…yeah not looking good so far
“Lord Xemnas,” Roxas began cautiously, trying to pick his way through the next words. The uncharacteristic formality and deep bow were unintentional, so reflexive after a year’s constant repetition that they took the young man himself off -guard. The instinctive servility was pretty galling to guy’d who come to treasure his freedom, but disrespect might equal dismemberment right now. “I’m honored by your invitation and acceptance,” that freakin’ stung in his mouth! “But,” well no turning back now. “I was givin' him,” a motion of the head indicated Alexius, “passage through this world.” Blue eyes flicked eye so slightly to the SEED soldier, begging him play along with what little cue Roxas could afford providing. “With your permission,” Roxas returned the fullness of his gaze to Xemnas, trying to summon up the blank dispassion that’d defined his time in the Organization. “I’ll take him home before returning to service at the Castle.”

Xemnas let his arm rest to his side when the former member of the Organization that stood before him declined Xemnas’s command in favor of leading his new comrade through Xemnas’s home. Xemnas is known as the Superior of all Nobodies, so it came as a surprise when Roxas did not take Xemnas’s command seriously enough to obey immediately. Xemnas cocked his head to the side, wondering why Roxas had refused him. Did Xemnas say something that confused Roxas? Perhaps, the being before wasn’t really Roxas and so that was why he declined in favor for his friend. Was he wrong in this young man’s disposition and form of being? Xemnas was confounded by this. Xemnas narrowed his eyes at the two young men before him. Xemnas focused on the man that looked to be Roxas and Xemnas was right in his assumption. The young blond man before him was indeed Roxas. How could he insult his Superior and disobey his command? How could he insult what all Nobodies truly desired and wanted: the need to be led by Xemnas? How this fool could openly defy his Superior almost made Xemnas gasp in annoyance and irritation, but he held his composure. Xemnas looked the two young men before him, staring down into the essence of their being. He had never seen a Nobody with so free of will, other than Axel. Axel’s personality was a bit fiery, no pun intended but the intent was still the same. It had called Xemnas’s aura and presence into question and it was something that irked Xemnas.
The second being before him appeared to be human, in light of Xemnas’s silent reexamination of the two young beings before him. It was clear that he was not from this particular universe. His home world lied outside of the universe, although Xemnas couldn’t pinpoint it. He was a shabby looking young man. He was definitely armed, as Xemnas eyed the first sign of aggression from these two men in the form of this human holding his sword at the ready. It was clear to Xemnas that this boy had no mind for tact. Xemnas laughed to himself but he wouldn’t let it show. Xemnas enjoyed manipulation so he figured he would let this play itself out. Xemnas wanted to see what the two young men would do and how they would react to what Xemnas did next.
Xemnas loved examining other beings. He enjoyed investigating them; finding their likes and their dislikes, finding out what they wanted in life and why, finding out what drives them into a rage and what brings them total despair. Xemnas was not close to Roxas. Roxas was a means to an end like the other members of the Organization but Xemnas did have close relationships to some of the members that worked for him and his goal. Roxas was simply the key to his grand plan, and Xemnas had a feeling that he would be again, along with this new warrior that he had in tow. Whether they would put up a fight would be up to them; whether they were willing to go willingly would be up to them as well. One thing for sure, though, was that Xemnas was not going to let them go so easily for a couple of reasons. One, he didn’t ask; he commanded. Two, he wanted to see how exactly they would react to Xemnas’ authoritarian and rigid aura as well. Xemnas kept his eyes narrowed on the two before him, he raised an eyebrow and let his deep voice carry his words toward the two young men.
“It would appear that you are mistaken, Roxas. Perhaps, you have forgotten who I am. Perhaps, you have forgotten the position that I hold. However, I will grant clemency for this mistake. You see, I do not ask that you come to the castle, I command. This is not an invitation; this is an order. You are in no position as of right now to ask such things from your Lord Superior. Now, you both must make your way to the castle…now…”

I WILL WALK MY OWN PATH. IT'S NOW OR NEVER. UP until now, Alexius had merely been listening to Roxas speak to this wellspring of apathy. He understood the awful situation that they had found themselves in. This was Roxas's home..but this man was the one who claimed dominion over it. Normally, something like that wouldn't bother Alexius. Every place had to have someone to show others the path to follow.
It was something that he understood. However..when he spoke up once again, Alexius felt something ignite in him. A very familiar feeling. A combination of anger and disgust. The way this man spoke..it disgusted Alexius. There was a difference between the confidence of a caring ruler..and the demands of a tyrant. Before Roxas could do anything to comply with this man's demands, Alexius's entire body crackled with electricity, which went from his feet, all the way to his head, sinking into it. Alexius wasn't normally one to bring out Quezacotl for nothing. But he could sense just how tilted the scales were.
He stepped between Roxas and this man who called himself Roxas's 'Superior'. His eyes--which had before shown an expression of worry--were now as cold as steel. "You know..I have met many people in my life." He said, his tone calm, yet biting, as the sky above them began to gather storm clouds, lightning and thunder jumping between them even as the cloud cover became more and more thick.
"There are those that enjoy helping people, people who only look out for themselves, and all sorts of awful people. I try to understand those kinds of people. That's what free will is for." He said as the grip on his sword tightened.
"But then there are people like you. Those people who assume that they're better than everyone just because they have a little more skill or power..It's people like you that disgust me." As he finished speaking, a massive bolt of lightning struck the ground behind him, and Quezacotl revealed itself, it's smooth body glinting in the artificial lights that surrounded them as it opened up its wings. For now, it did nothing. Acting merely as an ominous sign of what kind of power this man held.
"I won't let you stand by and push other people down to make yourself feel superior." He said before he swung his sword. This attack came from a surprising angle. In one moment, it was held at his left side, gripped tightly in his hand. And then in another, it had found it's way up over Alexius's right shoulder.
He wasn't done however. With that same speed, he swung his sword downwards in the opposing direction, and then brought it level with his side again. Each of these attacks bled right into the other quite seamlessly. It was obvious that this man, as shabby as he looked..was experienced in the realm of combat. His movements were quick, even elegant to a degree.
But that same movement betrayed just how much force was being put into each attack. He was not going to let this man keep throwing his weight around like he was some unstoppable force of nature. No matter what it cost him in wounds to his body, he would make sure that this man understood that he was no better than anyone else. That anyone could grab hold of power, and do great things with it.
Quezacotl Has Been summoned. 6/6 HP remains.
Charge Has Begun.
Alexius attacks with an upwards diagonal slash to the right
This attack is followed with a downwards diagonal slash to the left.

Life is alot like pushing freight up Station Hill sometimes. You can sweat and strain for hours, and the freakin’ wheels seem to barely move and inch. Whether its trust, plans, or a paycheck, the ‘building phase’ always takes a while.
…but the everything going to hell, not bracing properly and sending a wide-load of steel junk careening down the hill towards crowds of people in the Tram Commons? That just takes two seconds, and similarly, that was all the time Roxas had before a tense encounter devolved into a literal thunderstorm.
Being commanded into the Castle was definately nerve-wracking but wasn’t the end, they’d manage. Roxas knew more then a few ways out of his former home after-all. It was just take humoring Xemnas for a while and trying to not be turned into soul-shard shells or getting degraded into a Dusk. Roxas didn’t relish the thought of going in there, but the alternative had even worse odds. The simple fact was, when Roxas rushed things the people he cared about died. Alexius may be just an acquaintance, but that pile didn’t need any more bodies. Thus Roxas swallowed his vitriol, and prepared to try what Axel might’ve. Yet, before Roxas could even put together words of acquiesce in his brain, the situation shifted in a blink.
Alexius decided there would be no ‘managing’ today, and proceeded to speak his mind. Audacity and electrostatic built in tandem until Roxas’ couldn't tell if his goosebumps and raised hair were from the rampant fulgurkinesis or the conflict looming into grim inevitability. When Alexius had described how he’d gotten this building power Roxas’d assumed the talk of converting monsters into energy and memories to be just another World’s version of taking Hearts from Heartless. But looking up at the nearly thirty feet of pale green creature, evincing something between a mawless serpent and striped flying fish, the boy realized he was quite thoroughly out of his depth here.
The problem was, they both were.
“C’mon Alexius we gotta…” Roxas’ plea was cut off as his grappling lunge towards Alexius’ met an intangible resistance. Momentarily caught in the agonizing paralysis of gripping a live electric fence, Roxas was flung away from Alexius with the acrid scent of burning ozone. A low hissing exhalation of frustration escaped through the young man’s clenched teeth as he jumped up from the asphalt. No moving Alexius then, who seemed in the throes of magical-lightning-monder-bird-thing spell.
Just like that, everything was gathering speed down the hill. The choices here were simple, stark, and brutal, with just a second for the choosing. Roxas had promised to end Xemnas and his work once and for all, avenge the lies and lives crushed beneath the weight of remorseless monolithic purpose. He’d wanted to do it right this time, have an actual plan, more power, and careful preparation before storming the Castle for a second time. Running might give a chance to get those in place, have a better shot at fulfilling his promise. Yet,…
Roxas looked at the sudden weight in his palms. Oathkeeper’s filigreed mithril gleamed with refractions of the leaping lightning scarring the sky. Oblivion was like a piece of that stygian night above wrought iron, black, cold, and hungry. Guess the Heart had already chosen.
He needed to keep Xemnas busy while Alexius did whatever the heck that was. “Xemnas,” Roxas said, voice strengthening as he just let ire and adrenaline finally have their way. “Yes, I remember who you are,” he affirmed, crossing both keyblades across his chest at an angle, “what your’re position is, you giving me purpose when I felt Nothing...” A subtle staggering of foot-placement accompanied the hazy muting of nearby illumination. Photons streamed into Roxas’s body until he became just an errant flare of light in the corner of the eye.
In a breath’s span Roxas crashed towards Xemnas on a lambent tide, “But I also remember my true name!” Roxas snarled, finally his Master’s questions at the Dark Margin. Oathkeeper and Oblivion crested up in viscious auric arcs before reversing into crossing cuts towards Xeman's abdomen.
1) Roxas attempts to force Alexius to retreat, but is repulsed by his Guardian Force protection 2) Roxas uses Comet Charge in an attempt to deal heavy Holy/Physical damage and knock-back Xemnas 3) Roxas attempts two basic attacks on Xemnas (dual-wielding passive)

Xemnas’ interest only increased when he saw the reaction in the young man. He wondered what emotions were running in him. Was it fear of Xemnas’ presence? Was the boy afraid of what Xemnas could do or what he was capable of? Xemnas raised his eyebrow at the endless possibilities, keeping his eyes on the young man next to the 13th member of his now disbanded organization. He made sure to pay attention to the young man when he spoke. He had made a quick assumption about Xemnas, saying that he thought that Xemnas felt that he was better than anyone else. Xemnas wouldn’t let it show, but Xemnas was quite confident in his power. He was the first Nobody to ever exist, he has the power to turn any Nobody into the lowest of Nobodies. He was able to wield the power of nothingness and bring it to physical forms to harm those that would stand in his way and in that nothingness, he could tap into the light and darkness of twilight and use it as well. Xemnas was no slouch in battle, but he couldn’t ignore how the sky began to react. Something was off, something was different…
The clouds began to form in the sky in such a way that Xemnas had never seen before. Lightning and thunder began to jump between the clouds; Xemnas looking up to examine the clouds. Xemnas’ attention, however, was drawn back to the young man before him when he said that Xemnas’ very being disgusted him. Xemnas smirked at the remark, almost chuckling at the empty insult. It was then that lightning stuck behind the two young men and what appeared to be a celestial being appeared behind them. Xemnas narrowed his eyes at the animal of thunder and lightning; so, it would appear this young man was without some power. The young man told Xemnas that he wouldn’t allow him to push them around. However, Xemnas was only exercising his right as Lord Sovereign over all Nobodies. It would appear that this young boy’s eyes and ears were out of commission during Roxas’s display of fealty. Xemnas looked down to the boy and saw his attack coming from a mile away.
“Useless…”, Xemnas uttered, as with a small wave of his hand, let loose one of his defensive abilities, Thunder Guard, to block the initial attack. Xemnas used his flying abilities to dash backward to avoid his attack run.
It would appear that a battle would commence between them. All Xemnas did was exercise his position as Lord of all Nobodies, but it would appear that the young man didn’t take too kindly to that. Roxas seemed surprised, though, at least as far as Xemnas could tell. It would appear that the young man was the only one looking to fight. Xemnas wondered how he would deal with these two. Xemnas knew he outclassed the two boys, but the summoned creature was going to be a problem. He had to find away to keep away from the boys and deal with the creature…or he could just play defense for now and wait to find his opening. Xemnas, having floated backwards, saw Roxas’s charge and immediately with another wave of his hand, activated Thunder Cage to trap the Keyblade wielder, hoping that his charge will have him run into the cage, making Roxas adapt and as a result of the damage, be more wary about attacking Xemnas. Xemnas was no longer smirking though. He wouldn’t let his opponents know what he was thinking. His face was as blank as his soul...but he would start to pick at their souls and minds soon enough...
Actions Taken:
1. Xemnas uses Thunder Guard to block the initial attack by Alexius.
2. Xemnas uses his flight ability to gain some distance and, in turn, avoid the rest of Alexius's attack.
3. Xemnas uses Thunder Cage to cage Roxas and stop his attack run as well.
Moves used:
Thunder Guard - 2 Post Cooldown; can be used normally as well as in his Armored and Final Forms Xemnas, by the quick wave of either of his hands, can erect a huge barrier screen in front of him, blocking any and all physical attacks and magical attacks. It can cause Thunder-elemental damage to any that touch it, causing light damage. Only Limit Breaks and Ultimate Attacks can break through this barrier screen and hurt Xemnas.
Thunder Cage - 3 Post Cooldown; can be used normally as well as in his Armored and Final Forms Xemnas, by the quick wave of either of his hands, can erect four barrier screens around his opponent or opponents to make like a square to cage, trap and hold his opponents. It can blocking any and all physical attacks and magical attacks and it can cause Thunder-elemental damage to any that touch it besides Xemnas, causing light damage. Only Limit Breaks and Ultimate Attacks can break through this barrier cage, however.
Final Form - 4 posts left; 6 Post Cooldown Like Sora, Xemnas is also capable of achieving a “Final Form”.
Xemnas Clone - 1 post left; can only be used in Final Form Xemnas is capable of summoning a clone to do his bidding.

WHEN his sword collided with the barrier that had sprung up between this arrogant man and himself, Alexius felt an all too familiar sensation. Electricity jumped down his sword from the barrier, and jolted him pretty well. However, the attack didn't seem to affect him, as instead, the electricity jumped up and down Quezacotl instead of himself. Oh yeah. He was glad that he had Quezacotl to block damage while it gathered the energy it needed to use its attack.
He had admittedly been forced to slide a few inches back from the sudden displacement of the force he put onto the barrier, but the moment it faded away, wind started gathering around his hand. "Oh no you don't!" He yelled as he swept his hand horizontally, launching a thin blade of razor wind from his hand to fly towards Xemnas! He wasn't done yet, though.
He only really had enough energy to dedicate to one more attack. He was going to make sure that it was worth it. Once the wind around his gauntlet dispelled, Alexius took a deep breath, and lightning began to crackle on the surface of the glove on his hand once again.
He didn't have to focus for this. But he wanted to make sure that at least one of these attacks was going to hit home. It was very likely that someone who could fly would be able to dodge around a simple blast of razor wind. That was why he had other things at his disposal. The cracking of lightning around his gauntleted hand became more and more heavy until he shot his hand upwards.
Without a word, the skies seemed to split open, as a single, truly massive bolt of lightning to rip down from the skies above them. It's target? Xemnas. However, this bolt of lightning was not the only one that had sent from the skies. There were two others. However, due to Alexius's focus, these other two had been untargeted, harmlessly connected with the ground. Once the spell started, Alexius felt that familiar feeling of readiness. Quezacotl was ready to unleash her attack. Still, Alexius watched Roxas out of the corner of his eye.
Xemnas's barriers hadn't been a problem for just him. He could see that Roxas had been trapped in a cage of them. This was going to be a fight that they would have to plan for. He wasn't going to run though. If Xemnas was truly watching them, he would be able to tell from the look in Alexius's eyes that this was something he was not going to back down from. Something about the 'Lord Superior' had touched a nerve with the SeeD. He was going to do his level best to put this man in his place. Make him understand that he was not the only one who held power.
Quezacotl Health: 5/6
Charge Is Complete. Thunder Storm will be used next round.
Aero - Cooldown: 1 post: Alexius sweeps his hand Horizontally, releasing a horizontal slice of wind that hits a single target.
Thundaga - Cooldown: 4 posts: Alexius raises his hand, causing several immensely strong bolts of lightning to crash down on up to three separate targets. The first target is dealt heavy damage, while the other two targets are dealt medium damage. (Note: As Xemnas is the only target, this spell targeted only himself, causing the other two bolts to harmlessly connect with the ground) MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

Keeping his distance for the time being, Roxas whirled Oblivion and Oathkeeper in oscillating circles. The electrical burns left from where his shoulder and forearm’s hit the jolting barrier at full speed sent up lancing pain, like his skin were paper set aflame. Trying to ignore the paroxysms that seemed to throb in time with the lightning arching incandescent tongues within the billowing darkness on high, Roxas sent soaring shadow and lucent edges boomeranging toward Xemnas.
The rational part of Roxas’ mind contended with the rising tide of adrenaline and pent up ire. What point did this battle serve? If they won, all they gained was being able to run like hell, something they should’ve done earlier. Defeat on the other hand would cost them everything. But from the way Alexius’ Almighty Zeus impression was going, Roxas figured a warning wouldn't fall on receptive ears. Xemnas probably wouldn’t stop until they both were broken in submission at his feet. Maybe if Roxas could slow Xemnas down some and shove Alexius through a Corridor...
But as he leap up to catch the rebounding keyblades, hate burned too fiercely for plans to stick as anything more then white noise in the back of his head. Caution at the prospect of being fried on another one of Xemnas’ wards receded as Roxas sprinted forward again, keeping an eye out for Alexius’ thunderbolt barrages. A mental urging ignited Oathkeeper and Oblivion in a duet of brilliance and tenebrosity. He spun towards his former master, blades carving swathes of dilated dusk through the air as if night and day had become vaporous energies.
“You promised us Hearts of our own!” Snapped Roxas, at first merely trying to distract Xemnas from Alexius’ spell-weaving, but quickly found curiosity to have a deeper draw then anticipated. “I’ve seen what’s left of Marluxia, you lied to all of us," was the accusation followed by the whir of keyblades attempting to claim blood as well as answers. “But why the deception?” It seemed like such as stupid question once it left his mouth, but even a Nobody as soulless as Xemnas had to have a reason for stringing them all along on this charade. “What’s the point of all it?"
Roxas HP: 13/15 0) Roxas takes medium electric damage from thunder cage due to Comet Charge's debuff 1) Roxas attempts two ranged attacks on Xemnas with Dual Strike Raid 2) Roxas attempts to deal medium Shadow/Shadow area damage to Xemnas with Whirlwind 3) Roxas makes two dual-wielding basic attacks on Xemans

As this battle just began and was going through its first minutes, Xemnas realized that he might actually have to try in order to subdue the nuisances before him. Xemnas could tell that these young men have spent quite a while with each other. They complimented each other quite well on the field of battle. Either that, or they were simply trying to do their best to overwhelm Xemnas. Summoning creatures, throwing their strongest attacks; Xemnas couldn’t help but feel that they wanted to either end this battle quickly or burden the Superior with so much that they would be able to make an escape. Destroying Xemnas was out of the questions; they didn’t necessarily have the firepower for such an endeavor, as far as he could tell. The creature that was summoned was a pressing matter, however, Xemnas would have to get rid of this monster somehow, while keeping the overzealous warriors at bay. For the time being, Xemnas would have to play defense and play it safe for right now. It had been a while since he had taken on two warriors. However, the last two he took on were more skilled…and far stronger than these two. Xemnas, however, refused to underestimate them. They took advantage of their numbers and every attack overlapped the one before it, keeping up an endless barrage of action, a wave of momentum threatening to crush Xemnas.
It was then that Xemnas realized that if he wanted to make things easier on himself, he would have to separate the two young men. He knew Roxas well; Xemnas decided that he might work on him first and keep a weather eye on the boy that initiated this bout. He held inherent strength, that much was certain. Xemnas didn’t want to destroy them, however, he wasn’t keen on doing that to his foes these days. He needed beings that would serve him and his Kingdom Hearts but every time he put the offer on the table, it did not bode well for Xemnas in the slightest. Xemnas usually has no intention to fight, be it whether he meets with friend or foe. He was wasting energy that he could be using to revive his Kingdom Hearts and obtain ultimate power. Xemnas was more than a capable fighter, but fighting was not ever his first choice in any chance meeting he happened to find himself in, no matter what the circumstances.
It was time to manipulate Roxas and separate this team of micreants. There was some distance between Roxas and Xemnas so Roxas tried to use a Strike Raid attack. Xemnas knew it well from when Sora used it in their bouts. Xemnas blocked it using his Ethereal Blades, summoning the red beams from his palms and using his left and right blades to block and knock back the Strike Raid to Roxas, with Roxas catching his weapons in turn. Xemnas expected nothing less, but what he didn’t expect the sharp wind attack. That blew Xemnas back a little bit. Xemnas winced lightly, and in turn, rededicating his self-made promise to keep his eyes on both Roxas and the newcomer. Roxas had charged into for an attack, uttering words, but Xemnas simply sneered and fell into a Corridor of Darkness before Roxas could reach him. He heard something else, while briefly traveling though the tunnelways of darkness. It sounded like a thunderstrike, but Xemnas chalked it up to the weather that his beloved world was constantly in. Xemnas let himself reappear atop Memory’s Skyscraper. Xemnas smiled as he kept his eyes on the two young warriors. He then let his deep, dark voice carry throughout the area that they were in…
“Young Roxas, the objective was simple: To rebuild Kingdom Hearts. As for your “hearts”, you received them when the mission was complete. You gave yourselves to the task and in turn, once it had been completed, you should have received your “heart”. It was in your nature to serve, it was instinctive for you to serve my purpose…otherwise you wouldn’t have been able to. You see, emotions or things that we happen to do in our nature are things that you cannot escape, even as a Nobody. Seeking something for yourself is dictated by your heart and what you feel, not your mind and what you happen to be thinking at the time. If you had no heart and only your mind, which can be very objective; our minds could always find a reason why we can do without what we seek. One could say that you had your “heart” all along, when my Kingdom Hearts was completed. Your “heart” was put into an objective, when that objective was completed, you gained your “heart”, your purpose, your core of being if you will. Although, it would appear that you are missing your heart again, especially if the Key of Destiny, the single nobody that has been blessed to be able to use the Keyblade, needs assistance in taking down someone such as me. Stop this foolishness and come to the castle, let us find your “heart” once more so that you may be complete…”, Xemnas said, knowing his empty words served nothing than to mess with the mind of Roxas.
Actions Taken:
1. Xemnas summons his Ethereal Blades and knocks back the Dual Strike raid.
2. Xemnas sinks quickly into the ground to avoid Roxas’s attack run as well as Alexius’ Thundaga, unbeknownst to Xemnas himself using Corridor of Darkness, appearing atop of Memory’s Skyscraper.
Moves used: Ethereal Blades - Interdiction: This weapon happens to be Xemnas’s signature weapon. These Ethereal Blades are red laser beams that have been forged from the power of Nothingness. Xemnas is capable of holding one in each hand without a handle or hilt. This weapons primary function is to basically act like laser swords, however they are incapable of cutting; they act primarily as clubs which can cause huge pain to one that touches it other than Xemnas himself. He is capable of dismissing these weapons and he is capable of summoning them at will in both his Normal form and his Final Form. Xemnas is even capable of using the blades as projectiles and he can even suspend them in midair around someone, and by voice of command, fire them at his target and he won’t even have to be there when it happens. This weapon and the many functions that it has serve as one of Xemnas’s primary advantages. (Passive)
Corridor of Darkness - 3 Post Cooldown; can be used normally as well as in his Armored and Final Forms Xemnas is capable of summoning portals that allow them to travel to different worlds and in the case of combat, different areas on the battlefield. These pathways are formed through using the power of Darkness so it is naturally unsafe for a normal person to use them. In battle, Xemnas can use to escape an attack and reappear somewhere else or he could use it to get to a good vantage point and strike his opponent which means that he is only able to open two portals to the Corridors at one time.
Thunder Guard – 1 post left; can be used normally as well as in his Armored and Final Forms Xemnas, by the quick wave of either of his hands, can erect a huge barrier screen in front of him, blocking any and all physical attacks and magical attacks. It can cause Thunder-elemental damage to any that touch it, causing light damage. Only Limit Breaks and Ultimate Attacks can break through this barrier screen and hurt Xemnas.
Thunder Cage - 2 Posts left; can be used normally as well as in his Armored and Final Forms Xemnas, by the quick wave of either of his hands, can erect four barrier screens around his opponent or opponents to make like a square to cage, trap and hold his opponents. It can blocking any and all physical attacks and magical attacks and it can cause Thunder-elemental damage to any that touch it besides Xemnas, causing light damage. Only Limit Breaks and Ultimate Attacks can break through this barrier cage, however.
Final Form - 3 posts left; 6 Post Cooldown Like Sora, Xemnas is also capable of achieving a “Final Form”. He is the only other being that is capable of doing so. Xemnas utilizes the power of light and darkness as well as his own power over nothingness when he transforms into this form. Xemnas clench his right fist and electrical discharges will surround it and a white aura will surround Xemnas. He is capable of using the powers that he was capable of using in his Normal Form as well as using more innovative, devastating ones as well. This form was so strong that it took both Sora and Riku giving all they had in order to beat it.
Xemnas Clone – Ready to use; can only be used in Final Form Xemnas is capable of summoning a clone to do his bidding.

Hm. Interesting. So it was possible to use those corridors that Roxas had shown him as an escape method in combat. If he had known that, he wouldn't have wasted Thundaga. But it didn't matter anymore. Quezacotl was ready. There was no way to avoid it at this point. Xemnas was going to witness the power of the Guardian Force of Thunder, and the person who it had bonded with. But, before he could cue Quezacotl to attack, Xemnas started pandering towards the anger that Alexius could feel emanating from Roxas.
That only served to make Alexius scowl, holding his gauntleted hand out towards Roxas. "If you take another step, I cant guarantee that you'll be safe from what I'm about to unleash. Just stay there. I've got this." He said, his tone picking up a far more serious tone as he took a few steps forward, looking right up at Xemnas, atop the Stygian building, flickering with incandescent light up its front.
"You know, I find it interesting that someone who would act as you do would think that they need the assistance of a transformation to defend themselves." He said, starting with an educated guess. There were a few people that he had met in his days as a SeeD that had abilities that transformed them and their capabilities. "You claim to be so far above the two of us, but the very fact that you don't face us without boosting your own power shows that you obviously aren't confident in your own natural power."
He said as he raised his other hand, the thunder and lightning becoming even more frequent and far louder until his arm was fully extended upwards. "I, on the other hand, trust in the partner that I have earned the respect of. Quezacotl. It's time for your Thunder Storm." He said as he snapped his fingers, the creature that he had summoned jumping directly into action. Electricity began to arc away from what could only be described as its faceless head. However..it wasn't doing much. Instead, it was scattering throughout the course of several square blocks of the city that they were standing in, along with arcing high above even Xemnas's head.
"I wont claim to understand any of this 'heart' nonsense that you're talking about. But if you're trying to claim that Roxas is less than human, that he can't feel..well you are just blatantly wrong. I've been feeling the emotion coming off of him this whole time. From what I've been gathering, you want to try and tell him that he needs a heart to feel. If that's the case..then I can promise you, he already has one."
He said as the dome completed itself, and he suddenly shot his arm downwards, a bolt of lightning hitting the dome, creating a massive explosion. Everything around Alexius was caught in the electric fireball that was resulted. The Memory Skyscraper. The street around him. The buildings around them. Everything was buffeted by a violent wind, and the eternal darkness that this world was always caught in was suddenly blown away by an intense heat and light. A place of light in this world of shadow. But there was something unique about this.
Alexius was used to this. He felt none of the heat or wind that resulted from this technique. But Roxas..this would be new to him. He would bear witness to the spectacle of Quezacotl's power without falling victim to it. Xemnas would not be so lucky, however. This explosion was unfathomably massive, engulfing the entire skyscraper that he had been standing on, along with twenty feet of air above it. The explosion was violent, but quick. It was one of Alexius's strongest attacks. There was only a single attack in his arsenal that was stronger. But he would keep that tucked away for a different instance. However, he was not going to leave the attack at just that.
Immediately after Thunder Storm ended itself, Quezacotl vanished. Alexius no longer had to focus on keeping it present, so he quickly raised his free hand. Once again, bolts of lightning rained from the sky, targeting Xemnas. The first one was far weaker than the first one he had unleashed. That couldn't be helped. However..the second bolt that arrived looked all too similar to the first bolt he had summoned, being the same thickness and brightness as the previous electrostatic discharge that tried to strike Xemnas. Alexius was breathing heavily at this point.
It took a lot out of him mentally to use so much magic in such quick bursts, and it was obviously beginning to take its toll. His face was covered in a thin layer of sweat, and his free hand was shaking ever so slightly as it dropped. He knew this wasn't going to be the end..but it was at least going to be devastating.
Aero Cooldown: 1/1 posts, cooldown complete.

Xemnas’ words continued to worm their way through his skull, squirming through the gap Roxas perceived within himself. Even as his ears started to ring with the rising claps of thunder, The Superior’s explanation whispered insistently. Rationality protested that it was absurd, the Heart was more then purposes and objectives. But as Xemnas had stated, a person is more then logic and syllogism. A more primal part of Roxas felt that ache, the craven longing to return to when life had just been simple and clean. There’d been a time when he’d been content to serve without question, to define his existence according to set tasks and not looking beyond the next assignment. There’d been a peace in that, and Roxas would be lying if he said that freedom wasn’t more then occasionally overwhelming, a mercurial sea full of currents that swept you nowhere and then left your sails bereft of wind.
Deeper still was the sting when Xemnas also seemed to discern that Roxas had lost his way, his power, his once dauntless resolve. Nowhere did the toll of parting from Sora seem more obvious then in this battle. It wasn’t that he didn’t appreciate Alexius’ assistance and his words, when the monster hunter had unexpectedly turned out to be a summoner. But that didn’t stop Xemnas’ taunt from being breath upon the coals of his anger and chagrin, causing them to flare painfully to hot brightness in his chest.
But, Roxas didn’t have much time to anything especially stupid before the sky freakin exploded.
Lightning streaked down from roiling clouds, the pale purity of those incandescent tongues standing out like jagged scars against the urban corpse-city’s gloom and dark clouds pregnant with unnatural power. The titanic forked bolts descended so suddenly their travel seemed instantaneous, invisible particle currents with nature being catalyzed in a catastrophe of light and heat. Even having heeded Alexius’ warning at the last minute, such was the stratosphere effulgence of the Olympian lances that their vein-like shapes were burned in hazy afterimages across Roxas’ vision. Nature’s abiding power, ever present but often a subtle sublimity beyond conscious notice, bid man remember his place. Lightning spiked down again and again upon the skyscraper like a shining scourge, each forking shaft delivering thirty thousand kelvin’s onto concrete and steel. The pealing thunder that followed the eldritch discharge was like a giant falling ten thousand feet and making a canyon right by Roxas head. Windows burst outward in a crystalline rain of warped glass, their thousands of denticulate fractals refracting the radiant ravaging above like a serrated morning haze.
A silence as yawning as the calamity that’d preceded it fell, its vacuous claim broken only by the spattering crack of glass pelting the concrete after a three hundred foot fall. Blinking fulgent blurs from his eyes, Roxas glanced from the rooftop to the now pallid summoner and back again a few times, the keyblader’s perspective on his importune companion readjusting like a shadowed object’s true contours revealed by a lightning flash through a window.
“Hey Alexius, you ok there,” Roxas inquired after drawing closer, keeping himself in a guarded stance. Sure he had plenty of questions regarding giant magical storm snakes and how they fit into Alexius’ brain, but thinking this was over would be beyond Sora level optimism.
1) Roxas assumes a guarded stance and waits for the aftermath of Storm Snek
